Abstract

We present a method of analyzing a set of N time signals f_i(t) that consist of local measurements of the same physical observable taken at N sequential locations Z_i along the length of an experimental device. The result is an algorithm for reconstructing an approximation F(z,t) of the field f(z,t) in the inaccessible regions between the points of measurement. We also explore the conditions needed for this approximation to hold, and test the algorithm under a variety of conditions. We apply this method to analyze the magnetic field measurements taken on the Compact Toroid Injection eXperiment (CTIX) plasma accelerator; providing a direct means of visualizing experimental data, quantifying global properties, and benchmarking simulation., Comment: 17 pages, 9 figures, some changes in notation since version 1

Abstract

A newly developed assembly concept, which allows the consecutive introduction of unsymmetrical disulfide bonds in an already existing disulfide linker system, is being described. The technique has been found to be very useful for the synthesis of a releasable multidrug conjugate of folic acid.

Abstract

The Compact Toroid (CT) Injection Experiment (CTIX) is a coaxial plasma rail gun originally designed for tokomak refueling. CTIX can form and accelerate CT plasmas of controllable densities and velocities. For a given chord through a plasma, changes in line-integrated transverse electron density gradient can be resolved by measuring the angle of deflection of a laser beam traversing the plasma. A vertical array of four temperature-controlled laser deflectometers was installed in the viewing section of CTIX and used to profile the line-averaged density of an unconstrained CT drifting at high velocity. Abstract

The process of pre-preg consolidation and void removal is critical to fabricating high quality out of autoclave (OOA) parts. A partially impregnated prepreg material was connected to a vacuum source and heated during vacuum bag only (VBO) cure. The matrix resin flows, filling the evacuated regions of the material, and polymerizes. To better understand the dynamics of the consolidation and void removal portion of the cure process, an experiment was designed to study laminate consolidation dynamics. The experiment divided the consolidation portion of a cure into segments. Laminate condition at these distinct times was captured by quickly lowering the laminate temperature once the cure segment was reached. To study these static segments of the consolidation, the laminate samples were cured without heating and mounted for photo microscopy. The results derived illustrate void removal, matrix flow and compositional changes during a specific portion of the cure cycle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
