Metallic ribbons of different compositions were prepared using a single-roller melt-spinning method. The (Fe0.8Co0.2)83B11P4Si2 alloy without Cr showed both high saturation magnetic flux (Bs) of 1.78 T and high corrosion resistance, with a corrosion potential of −607 mV and a corrosion current density of 29 μA/cm2 compared to those of a conventional high-Bs Fe79B13.5Si5.5C2 amorphous alloy. The (Fe0.7Co0.3)82B11P4Si2Cr1 alloy with Cr also exhibited a high Bs of 1.71 T and high corrosion resistance at the same level as that of a conventional Fe73B11Si11C3Cr2 amorphous alloy. The (Fe0.7Co0.3)82B11P4Si2Cr1 alloy showed a corrosion potential of −509 mV and a corrosion current density of 18 μA/cm2. Furthermore, the (Fe0.7Co0.3)82B11P4Si2Cr1 alloys exhibited a high amorphous forming ability because of a single amorphous phase in the metallic ribbon at a thickness of >60 μm. Based on these results, the (Fe0.7Co0.3)82B11P4Si2Cr1 amorphous alloy with the possibility of powderization was confirmed to be a suitable material for the magnetic core that is widely used in metallic inductive components. Records on 514 bulls from the sire population born from 1978 to 2004, and on 22,099 of their field progeny born from 1997 to 2003 with available pedigree information (total number = 124,458) were used to estimate genetic parameters for feed intake and energy efficiency traits of bulls and their relationships with carcass traits of field progeny. Feed intake and energetic efficiency traits were daily feed intake, TDN intake, feed conversion ratio (FCR), TDN conversion ratio (TDNCR), residual feed intake (RFI), partial efficiency of growth, relative growth rate, and Kleiber ratio. Progeny carcass traits were carcass weight (CWT), yield estimate, ribeye area, rib thickness, subcutaneous fat thickness (SFT), marbling score (MSR), meat color standard (MCS), fat color standard (FCS), and meat quality grade. All measures of feed intake and energetic efficiency were moderately heritable (ranged from 0.24 to 0.49), except for partial efficiency of growth and relative growth rate, which were high (0.58) and low (0.14), respectively. The phenotypic and genetic correlations between FCR and TDNCR were [greater than or equal to] 0.93. Selection for Kleiber ratio will improve all of the energetic efficiency traits with no effect on feed intake measures (daily feed intake and TDN intake). The genetic correlations of FCR, TDNCR, and RFI of bulls with most of the carcass traits of their field progeny were favorable (ranged from -0.24 to -0.72), except with fat color standard (no correlation), MCS, and SFT. Positive (unfavorable) genetic correlations of MCS with FCR, TDNCR, and RFI (0.79, 0.70, and 0.51, respectively) were found. The SFT was negatively genetically correlated with FCR and TDNCR (-0.32 and -0.20, respectively); however, the genetic correlation between RFI and SFT was not significantly different from zero ([r.sub.g] = -0.08 [+ or -] 0.12). Favorable correlated responses in CWT, yield estimate, ribeye area, rib thickness, MSR, and meat quality grade would be predicted for selection against any measure of energetic efficiency. The correlated responses in CWT and MSR of progeny were greater for selection against RFI than for selection against any other energetic efficiency trait. Results of this study indicate that RFI should be preferred over other measures of energetic efficiency to include in selection programs. A very high-field superconducting NMR magnet, such as 1.2 GHz or 1.3 GTz, is developed by utilizing the high temperature superconductor (HTS). The solid-state NMR on [super 17]O nuclei in a labeled peptide is shown by using a magic angle spinning probe, which has a [super 1]H decoupling frequency of 1.05 GHz.

The possibility of the powderization of precursor with a single amorphous phase was investigated in FeBNbP nanocrystalline alloy particles and FeBNbPSi nanocrystalline alloy powders. Fe90−xBxNb7P3 (x=9, 10), Fe79.5B9.5Nb7P3Si1 and Fe82−x B9Nb6P3Six (x=2, 3) powders were prepared by the gas atomization method using high pressure water for rapid quenching. The as-atomized particle as a precursor exhibiting low Hc of 141 A/m with a single amorphous phase was observed from a cross sectional image and SAED pattern in the Fe80B10Nb7P3 nanocrystalline alloy powder. In addition, the stability of amorphous phase in the FeBNbP nanocrystalline alloy was also significantly improved by the addition of Si. Therefore, the as-atomized Fe79B9Nb6P3Si3 nanocrystalline alloy powder with Si as a precursor powder of nanocrystalline alloy was achieved to exhibit excellent magnetic softness of low Hc of 53 A/m compared to the ordinary Fe73Si11B11Cr3C2 amorphous and Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 nanocrystalline alloy powders. In addition, the Fe79B9Nb6P3Si3 powder after nanocrystallization at 873K achieved both high Bs of 1.41T and low Hc of 37 A/m compared to ordinary amorphous, and nanocrystalline alloys. We have evaluated the potential of 188Re-labeled monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) modified with 2-iminothiolane (2IT) for targeting small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). Radiolabeled MAbs NK1NBL1 and C218 recognizing neural cell adhesion molecule were injected i.v. into athymic mice inoculated with human SCLC tumors, and the biodistribution was examined. NK1NBL1 localized in the tumors better than C218. 188Re-labeled MAbs cleared from the blood faster than 125I-labeled counterparts, resulting in higher tumor-to-blood ratios. In conclusion, the 188Re-labeled MAbs are attractive candidates for imaging and therapy of SCLC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
