In recent years, prefabricated components have been widely used in the construction of substation superstructures, while cast-in-place foundations remain the primary method for substation foundations. This paper presents and evaluates a novel prefabricated foundation design aimed at enhancing construction efficiency and load-bearing performance. The foundation features a modular design, with each module weighing only half that of a cast-in-place foundation of the same size, significantly improving construction convenience and transportation efficiency. The load-bearing performance of the foundation was validated through static load tests and finite element modeling. The results indicate that the foundation demonstrates excellent ductility, with flexural failure as the primary mode, characterized by multiple cracks across the mid-span and complete yielding of longitudinal reinforcing steels. Further parametric analysis shows that increasing the plate thickness ratio (λ) improves the ultimate bearing capacity of the foundation significantly. Additionally, enlarging the cross-sectional size of the shear key or increasing the strength of the wet joint material enhances overall structural synergy, reduces local deformation, and improves load distribution efficiency. Overall, the sensitivity order of factors influencing the bearing capacity of the new prefabricated foundation is plate thickness ratio (λ) > wet joint strength > shear key cross-sectional size.

Peripheral nerve injury (PNI) is a common surgical disease. In recent years, with the development of tissue engineering materials, nerve guidance conduit (NGC) is expected to replace autologous nerve transplantation and become a new method for the treatment of PNI. In this work, we developed a multifunctional silk fibroin (SF)/gelatin-tyramine (GT) composite hydrogel conduit with flexible adjustable size by using a diffusion-driven cross-linking method. Furthermore, the ZIF-8 nanoparticles loaded with miR-29a (miR-29a@ZIF-8) delivery system was constructed and compounded into SF/GT hydrogel conduit to enhance its bioactivity and neural repair effects through sustained miR-29a release. In vitro cell experiments showed that SF/GT hydrogel conduit could significantly promote the myelination of Schwann cells (SCs), neuronal differentiation and axon extension of PC12 ​cells. In addition, it was worth mentioning that SF/GT hydrogel conduit could also regulate the immune microenvironment of nerve regeneration by promoting the transformation of macrophages from M1 phenotype to M2 phenotype, indicating a potential application as nerve guidance conduit in peripheral nerve repair.

The protective performance, in conditions of total immersion, of an acrylic water-based paint applied to rusty steel, has been studied using electrochemical techniques. There was no rust, blister, crack, or flake that occurred on coating after 500 h immersion. The data obtained have enabled the protective mechanism to be proposed. The specific pigments utilized in the formulation of the paint studied can release phosphates to form a protective layer on metal substrate, which can impede the access of aggressive species to substrate surface. The coatings performed electrochemical activity in the beginning of immersion; then the layer formed and resistance of coating increased.

Political factors play a crucial role in China's initial public offering (IPO) market due to its distinctive institutional context (i.e. “economic decentralization” and “political centralization”). Given the significant level of IPO underpricing in China, we examine the impact of local political uncertainty (measured by prefecture-level city official turnover rate) on IPO underpricing. Using 2,259 IPOs of A-share listed companies from 2001 to 2019, we employ a structural equation model (SEM) to examine the channel (voluntarily lower the issuance price vs aftermarket trading) through which political uncertainty affects IPO underpricing. We check the robustness of the results using bootstrap tests, adopting alternative proxies for political uncertainty and IPO underpricing and employing subsample analysis. Local official turnover-induced political uncertainty increases IPO underpricing by IPO firms voluntarily reducing the issuance price rather than by affecting investor sentiment in aftermarket trading. These relations are stronger in firms with pre-IPO political connections. The effect of political uncertainty on IPO underpricing is also contingent upon the industry and the growth phase of an IPO firm, more pronounced in politically sensitive industries and firms listed on the growth enterprise market board. Local government officials in China usually have a short tenure and Chinese firms witness significantly severe IPO underpricing. By introducing the SEM model in studying China IPO underpricing, this study identifies the channel through which local government official turnover to political uncertainty on IPO underpricing.

In this work, AZ31B extruded sheets with mixed-grain microstructures were prepared through extrusion. Samples of mixed-grain microstructure with different morphologies were selected from the AZ31B extruded sheets (referred to as M1 and M2 samples, respectively). The creep tests were performed on these samples at the temperature range of 150–200 °C, and the stress level range of 50–100 MPa. The creep properties and fracture behavior of AZ31 extruded sheets with mixed-grain microstructures were studied. Results showed that the creep properties of the M2 sample always outperformed that of the M1 sample and M1 and M2 samples’ creep was dominated by dislocation movement. The creep rate of M2 samples (1.5 × 10-7 ± 1.1 × 10-10 s-1) is an order of magnitude lower than that of M1 samples (4.8 × 10-6 ± 8.1 × 10-10 s-1) at 200 °C under 50 MPa The high activity of basal slip and softening mechanism in the M1 sample significantly accelerated creep, resulting in a relatively high creep rate. Moreover, the stress concentration within the M1 sample caused by deformation incompatibility, increased the initiation and propagation of voids, ultimately leading to fracture and poorer creep performance. The room temperature plasticity of magnesium alloy is poor because of its unique crystal structure. After extrusion or rolling process, the grain orientation of as-cast Mg alloy tends to be the same, and it shows obvious intense basal texture, which makes it show obvious tensile and compressive asymmetry and anisotropy. Texture control plays a crucial role in enhancing their mechanical properties, formability, and corrosion resistance. The grain c-axis of the extruded Mg alloy is deflected at a certain angle through predeformation treatment, shear deformation and other composite severe plastic deformation (SPD) processes. This results in refined grain size and adjusted texture orientation. The process also facilitates recrystallization, and the orientation of newly formed grains during continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX) is similar to that of the parent crystals but may deviate slightly. The discontinuous dynamic recrystallization (DDRX) process produces new grains with a randomly distributed orientation. Consequently, the initial dense basal texture has been decreased, the basal slip systems are significantly activated, and plasticity is greatly improved. The continued action of non-basal slip concurrently enhances plasticity.The present paper provides a comprehensive overview of the texture regulation technology and mechanism of Mg alloy subjected to shear strain and torsional deformation, including extrusion, rolling, and bending. The beneficial effects of texture control on the mechanical characteristics, formability, and corrosion resistance of Mg alloys were elucidated by integrating twinning, recrystallization, and non-basal slip processes. The future development trends and challenges of Mg alloy plastic technology are finally proposed.

Abstract Multi-modal medical images are important in tumor lesion detection. However, the existing detection models only use single-modal to detect lesions, a multi-modal semantic correlation is not enough to consider and lacks ability to express the shape, size, and contrast degree features of lesions. A Cross Modal YOLOv5 model (CMYOLOv5) is proposed. Firstly, there are two networks, auxiliary network is consisted by dual-branch structure to extract semantic information from PET and CT, backbone network is consisted by YOLOv5 to extract semantic information from PET/CT. Secondly, Cross-modal Features Fusion (CFF) is designed in auxiliary network to fuse PET functional information and CT anatomical information. Self-Adaptive Attention Fusion (AAF) is designed in backbone network to fuse and enhance three-modal complementary information. Thirdly, Self-Adaptive Transformer (SAT) is designed in feature enhance neck. Using Transformer with deformable attention mechanism to focus on lung tumor region. Using MLP with channel attention mechanism to enhance features representation ability of lung tumor region. Finally, Reparameter Residual Block (RRB) and Reparameter Convolution operation (RC) are designed to fully learn richer PET, CT and PET/CT feature. Comparative experiments are conducted on clinical lung tumor PET/CT multi-modality dataset, the effectiveness of CMYOLOv5 is verified by Precision, Recall, mAP, F1, FPS, and training time, experimental results are 97.16%, 96.41%, 97.18%, 96.78%, 96.37 and 3912 s. CMYOLOv5 has high precision in the detection of irregular lung tumors, which is superior to the existing advanced methods.

Abstract The positive pressure beam tube system addresses issues related to gas composition distortion, concentration variations, and long transmission delays observed in traditional negative pressure systems. It has increasingly become the primary system for early monitoring and warning of coal spontaneous combustion in goaf areas. Nevertheless, there remains a deficiency in comprehensive research concerning critical aspects like gas transmission characteristics and transmission lag time in the positive pressure beam tube system. This study aims to construct an experimental platform for the positive pressure beam tube monitoring system and systematically investigate how the choice of pressurization device, pipe length, pipe diameter, and driving pressure in the transmission pipeline affect gas transmission characteristics. The findings indicate that the most effective pressurization occurs under conditions of two-stage high positive pressure transport, with a driving gas pressure of 0.65 MPa. The optimal diameter for positive pressure gas transmission is 7 mm. Long-distance negative pressure pipelines result in decreased transmission efficiency, necessitating increased output pressure with the lengthening of positive pressure pipelines to maintain efficiency.

Abstract A high‐salt diet can induce hypertension, so salt reduction can prevent hypertension. γ‐Glutamyl peptides (GGPs) have obvious taste‐enhancing effects, while their contents in natural foods are relatively low. Yeast protein rich in Glu/Gln is a good precursor for the preparation of GGPs. In this study, yeast protein‐derived GGPs were prepared through hydrolysis and transpeptidation reactions, followed by sensory evaluation and E‐tongue analysis. Peptide sequences were identified by LC−MS/MS and screened for molecular docking. The optimal reaction conditions were hydrolysis for 4 h, enzyme concentration of 16 U/g, and transpeptidation for 4 h. GGPs could increase salt and umami intensity by 60.78% and 40.93% based on sensory evaluation, 22.52%, and 16.40% according to E‐tongue analysis. Fifteen γ‐glutamyl peptides with different peptide lengths were selected for molecular docking. Molecular docking confirmed their binding to calcium‐sensing receptors (CaSr) through hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interaction, while interaction between CaSR receptor and γ‐glutamyl di‐, tri‐, and oligo‐peptides varied in binding energy. The stimulation received by CaSR lasted a longer time and varied in intensity. It was further proved that the flavor of mixed peptides has a layered sense and can give people a rich taste experience. Overall, yeast protein‐derived GGPs can enhance salt and umami taste, which can reduce salt usage without compromising taste.

Abstract Background Reasonable instruction and promotion of appropriate exercise are crucial to improving the exercise status of pregnant women and safeguarding the health of both mother and fetus. However, there is a lack of validated Pregnancy Exercise Attitude Scales with a complete evaluation system in China. This study aims to assess the validity and reliability of the Pregnancy Exercise Attitude Scale (C-PEAS) in Chinese to give medical professionals a reference for carrying out pregnancy care services and promoting the health of the mother and fetus. Methods In this study, the scale was translated, back-translated, and cross-culturally adapted using the Brislin translation model to form the C-PEAS. 528 pregnant women were conveniently selected for the questionnaire survey to evaluate the scale's reliability. The scale's content validity was assessed by the content validity index, while its structural validity was investigated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Cronbach's alpha coefficient, McDonald's omega coefficient, split-half reliability, and retest reliability were used to evaluate the scale's internal consistency. Results The C-PEAS contains two dimensions with 37 entries. The EFA supports a two-factor structure with a cumulative variance contribution of 62.927%. The CFA model was well fitted (χ2/df = 1.597, RMSEA = 0.048, IFI = 0.955, TLI = 0.952, and CFI = 0.955). The C- PEAS' Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.973, and the range of Cronbach's alpha values for the dimensions was 0.976, 0.944. McDonald's omega coefficient was 0.971, the half-point reliability of the scale was 0.856, and the retest reliability was 0.966. Conclusions The Chinese version of C-PEAS has good psychometric properties. It can be used as an effective measurement tool to evaluate the attitude of pregnant women to exercise during pregnancy.

Abstract Background Postpartumpost-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as a psychological stress disorder, has long-term and widespread harm. Still, compared with other postpartum psychiatric disorders, postpartum PTSD has received relatively littleattention in China. This study aims to investigate the risk factors of postpartum PTSD and to develop a convenient and rapid nomogram screening tool to help clinical staff identify high-risk pregnant womenin time and take preventative and management measures. Methods Recruited pregnant women hospitalized for delivery in Qingdao Municipal Hospital and Jinzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from November 2022 to October 2023 as convenient samples for the questionnaire survey. Telephone follow-up was conducted 42 days after delivery. After univariate analysis, multicollinearity analysis, and logistic regression analysis, the risk factors of postnatal PTSD were obtained, a prediction model was established, and a nomogram was drawn by R software. G*power3.1.9.7 calculated the effectiveness of the test. The model was validated internally using the Bootstrap approach, and external validation was carried out using a verification group. The accuracy of the model's predictions and its clinical application value were evaluated by the area under the curve, calibration plot, and decision curve analysis. Results A total of 602 women were recruited in this study, and the incidence of postpartum PTSD was 11.1% (67/602). Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that poor self-assessment of sleep status in late pregnancy (OR = 5.336), cesarean section (OR = 2.825), instrumental delivery (OR = 5.994), having fear of labor (OR = 4.857), and a high score of Five Factors Inventory Neuroticism subscale (OR = 1.244) were independent risk factors for developing postpartum PTSD. A high Quality of Relationship Index score (OR = 0.891) was a protective factor for postpartum PTSD. In the training and validation sets, the nomogram model's area under the ROC curve was 0.928 and 0.907, respectively. The calibration curves showed that the nomogram model was well-fitted, and the Decision Curve Analysis indicated that the nomogram model had good value for clinical application. Conclusions With its strong predictive capacity, the prediction model built using postpartum PTSD risk factors can help clinical caregivers identify high-risk pregnant women early on and implement timely preventive intervention strategies.

BackgroundA20, also known as TNF-α-induced protein 3 (TNFAIP3), is a crucial negative regulator of inflammation and immune responses. Emerging evidence suggests that A20 is involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism and plays a significant role in bone metabolic diseases by inhibiting nuclear factor (NF)-κB activation. However, the potential relationship between serum A20 level and bone mineral density (BMD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has not been explored. This study aims to investigate the association between serum A20 level with BMD and bone turnover markers (BTMs) in patients with T2DM.MethodA total of 189 patients with T2DM and 183 non-diabetic individuals were included in the study based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Participants were categorized into normal BMD and low BMD groups. Baseline clinical histories were collected through face-to-face questionnaires. Participants underwent measurements of blood biochemistry and anthropometric, hand grip strength records and short physical performance battery (SPPB) assessment. Serum A20 level was quantified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit. Areal BMD was measured using dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common gastrointestinal disorder that significantly affects populations in both developing and developed countries. Due to both intrinsic pathology and extrinsic risk factors, the incidence of GERD has risen substantially in recent decades. This disorder results from an imbalance between the esophagus’s defensive mechanisms and the harmful effects of the refluxate. The pepsin, an enzyme secreted exclusively by the stomach, plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of GERD due to its invasiveness effects in acidic environments. By thoroughly understanding the pathogenesis of pepsin-induced GERD, we could better address its diagnostic and therapeutic potential in clinical practice. Although current diagnostic tools are widely used, they have several limitations. As a result, researchers have increasingly focused on the salivary pepsin test, a novel diagnostic method that utilizes the specific pathological mechanisms of pepsin. To overcome the drawbacks of the currently used salivary pepsin test, fluorescence response detection has been integrated with other technologies. Beyond its diagnostic significance, pepsin in saliva may also serve as a target for GERD management in innovative clinical trials. In this review, we summarize the latest advancements in the diagnosis and management of GERD to improve patient outcomes.

Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) is a widely employed approach for managing menopausal syndrome, entailing the administration of exogenous estrogen to alleviate diverse symptoms and mitigate associated diseases in perimenopausal women. However, recent studies have reported an increased risk of breast cancer associated with estrogen and progestin therapy, although there are notable variations among these studies. Therefore, it is imperative to identify individuals at high risk for breast cancer following MHT. This study conducted a comparative analysis of genes between breast cancer patients who received MHT and those who did not, identifying SNP loci closely associated with the risk of developing breast cancer in postmenopausal women undergoing MHT. A predictive model for assessing the risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women undergoing MHT was established to facilitate personalized treatment recommendations and alleviate menopausal symptoms. Based on the sequencing data of perimenopausal patients with breast cancer (treated MHT) and unaffected breast cancer (treated MHT), effective SNP sites were obtained in the whole genome, and differential SNP sites associated with breast cancer and hormone therapy were initially screened based on association analysis. Finally, a group of 128 SNP sites for risk prediction of breast cancer in perimenopausal women after hormone therapy was determined. The score of Breast cancer (treated MHT) Cohort was significantly different from the other two groups (Breast cancer (untreated MHT) Cohort, and Unaffected breast cancer (treated MHT) Cohort) (P=0.0032 and P=1.8E-06), which showed that patients with a high risk of breast cancer undergoing MHT could be distinguished based on the above 128 MHT-SNPs. In addition, the efficient of four algorithms was evaluated and the RF method had the highest AUC value 0.813, indicating its superior predictive capability in assessing MHT-related breast cancer risk. The 128 MHT-SNPs presented in this study can be utilized for precise determination of the suitability of MHT for women during perimenopause. And the validated model risk prediction tool effectively forecasts the risk of breast cancer following MHT, thereby offering personalized diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations to clinical practitioners.

IntroductionCerebral ischemia–reperfusion (IR) causes severe secondary brain injury. Previous studies have demonstrated that ferroptosis is involved in IR-induced brain injury. However, whether IR induces ferroptosis in brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMVECs) is not fully understood.Materials and methodsOxygen–glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGDR) was performed in bEND.3 cells to mimic IR injury in vitro, and a focal cerebral IR model was created in C57BL/6 mice. Transcriptomic sequencing of the cells was performed first, followed by bioinformatics analysis. Differentially expressed gene (DEG) enrichment analysis highlighted ferroptosis-related pathways.ResultsUsing Venn analysis, nine ferroptosis-related DEGs were identified, namely, Slc3a2, Slc7a11, Ccn2, Tfrc, Atf3, Chac1, Gch1, Lcn2, and Sesn2. Protein–protein interaction (PPI) analysis combined with molecular complex detection (MCODE) identified six hub genes, namely, Ddit3, Atf3, Sesn2, Trib3, Ppp1r15a, and Gadd45a. Spearman’s correlation analysis revealed a significant correlation between the hub genes and ferroptosis-related DEGs. After reperfusion, the levels of ferroptosis indicators were elevated, and the expression of the ferroptosis-related proteins Xc− and GPX4 decreased. SESN2 is a hub gene and key antioxidant regulator. SESN2 silencing reduced the expression of System Xc− and GPX4, whereas overexpression of SESN2 promoted the expression of System Xc− and GPX4.DiscussionThese results suggest that SESN2 is a negative regulator of ferroptosis. Enhancing the expression of SESN2 can alleviate ferroptosis through the activation of the System Xc−/GPX4 pathway. By integrating bioinformatics analysis with mechanistic exploration, this study revealed that ferroptosis plays a crucial role in IR-induced BMVECs injury, with SESN2 acting as a negative regulator via the System Xc−/GPX4 pathway.

We report a case of a 53-year-old male patient who was diagnosed with anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive large B-cell lymphoma. A pathological examination showed plasma-cell immunophenotype negative for mature B-lymphocyte markers. The patient received three cycles of an “alectinib + Vincristine + Rituximab + Cyclophosphamide + Doxorubicin (VRCD) “ regimen. In the fourth cycle, brentuximab vedotin monoclonal antibody treatment was added to increase the efficacy of the treatment. Positron emission tomography-computed tomography and a bone marrow examination were carried out after four cycles, revealing a complete response. Stem cells were successfully harvested. Thus far, the patient has undergone six treatment cycles and successfully received autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Currently, the patient is receiving maintenance therapy with alectinib and lenalidomide and remains in a favorable clinical condition.

BackgroundWith the global trend of aging, stress urinary incontinence is becoming more common in older adults, which may have some impact on patients' quality of life. Social alienation can generate negative emotions such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, and morbid stigma, and reduce patients' quality of life. However, the current status of social alienation is different among different older adult female patients with stress urinary incontinence. Therefore, this study categorizes older adult female stress urinary incontinence patients through potential analysis to understand the category characteristics of social alienation level of older adult female stress urinary incontinence patients, and explores the influencing factors of social alienation level of different categories of older adult female stress urinary incontinence patients, which can provide a reference to personalized intervention programs for the characteristics of social alienation of older adult female stress urinary incontinence in the future.MethodA convenience sampling method was used to select 365 cases of older adult female stress urinary incontinence patients from March 2023 to April 2024 in three communities in Jinzhou City. The General Information Questionnaire, the Family Care Index Scale, the Toronto Alexithymia Scale, and the General Alienation Scale were used to conduct the survey.ResultsA total of 365 respondents were included, and three potential categories of social alienation were finally identified, namely, low social alienation (29.0%), medium social alienation-self alienation (49.4%), and high social alienation (21.6%). The results of multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that occupational status, marital status, whether living alone, place of residence, BMI, whether other chronic diseases, level of narrative disorders, and level of family care were the influencing factors of social alienation in older adult female patients with stress urinary incontinence (P < 0.05).ConclusionThe social alienation of older adult female patients with stress urinary incontinence is characterized by a significant number of categories, and healthcare professionals can identify the characteristics and influencing factors of each category at an early stage, which can provide a basis for the development of targeted clinical interventions to help patients reduce the level of social alienation.

Abstract Background As emerging adults are increasingly reliant on instant messaging applications for communication with romantic partners, cyber dating abuse perpetration (CDAP) and victimization (CDAV) have proliferated. This has aroused the high attention of researchers. This study aimed to explore the mechanism of the influence of peer phubbing on CDAP and CDAV in Chinese context. Methods 566 Chinese college students (average age of 19.31 years, 47.7% females) were investigated with the generic scale of being phubbed, rejection sensitivity questionnaire, Chinese version of resilience scale and cyber dating abuse questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using a moderated mediation model with SPSS and the PROCESS. The fruit ripening period is an important factor affecting fruit quality and commercial value.To investigate why WSQCL ripens about 15 days later than QCL and why WSQCL has a more astringent flavor. This study analyzed the dynamics of fruit development and quality of three plum varieties, including “Late-maturing Qiangcuili” (WSQCL), ‘Qiangcuili’ (QCL), and ‘Cuihongli’ (CHL), to explore the differences in plums quality formation and the ripening period between the late-maturing variant WSQCL and its parental cultivars. The results indicated that the order of the fruit growth rate was QCL > WSQCL > CHL. During fruit development of the three plum varieties, the changes in soluble sugar (SS), titratable acid (TA), starch, chlorophyll, carotenoids, and phenolic contents were consistent, while the accumulation of total phenols, SS, and TA differed significantly between WSQCL and QCL. WSQCL had higher expression of genes related to phenolic compound synthesis than QCL, and phenolic compound synthesis was closely associated with the expression of PAL3, 4CL, HCT1, and CHS. Principal component analysis revealed differences between WSQCL and the other two varieties during the middle and late stages of fruit development. This study provides a reference for quality formation and development of the potential value of WSQCL.

By metal‐phenolic complexation and π–π stacking interactions, a Fe3+‐propofol network is formed on bacterial surface. Coated dormant Clostridium can selectively germinate and rapidly proliferate in tumor sites due to the ability of carried Fe3+ ions to promote bacterial multiplication. Intratumoral colonization of Clostridium produces sufficient collagenases to degrade tumor collagen mesh and the loaded propofol restrains tumor metastasis by inhibiting tumor cell migration and invasion. Meanwhile, the delivered Fe3+ ions are reduced to the Fe2+ form by intracellular glutathione, thereby inducing potent Fenton reaction to trigger lipid peroxidation and ultimate ferroptosis of tumor cells. In addition to a satisfactory safety, a single intratumoral injection of coated dormant Clostridium not only effectively retards the growth of established large primary tumors, but also significantly suppresses distal lung metastasis in two different orthotopic tumor models. This work proposes a strategy to develop advanced therapeutics for malignant tumor treatment and metastasis prevention.

Abstract Carbon-based perovskite solar cells (c-PSCs) have attracted increasing attention due to their numerous advantages including ease of fabrication, the potential of assembling flexible devices, low manufacturing costs as well as large-scale production. However, c-PSCs suffer from the limited hole extraction and high charge carrier recombination due to the inadequate interface contact between the carbon electrode and perovskite film. Herein, we report the fabrication of planar c-PSCs with high efficiency and excellent stability by employing electrochemically produced large-area phosphorene flakes as a hole-transporting layer (HTL). Large-area phosphorene shows well-aligned band energy levels with the perovskite, and thus led to the efficient hole extraction and the reduced hysteresis behaviour. Consequently, while exhibiting excellent stability under various harsh testing conditions, the devices with phosphorene HTL delivered a power conversion efficiency of over 15% with an open-circuit voltage of 1.082 V, which is the highest reported value for c-PSCs without traditional hole transporting materials to date.

Abstract Background The incidence of Post Stroke Depression (PSD) in the Rehabilitation Stage is high, which can bring serious physical and psychological disorders to patients. However, there is still a lack of targeted tools for screening PSD in the rehabilitation stage. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the factor structure and reliability of a measurement instrument to screen for PSD in the rehabilitation stage. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on 780 hospitalized stroke patients who were within the rehabilitation stage from May to August 2020. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) as well as first- and second-order confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were performed to evaluate the factor structure of the newly developed Symptom Measurement of Post-Stroke Depression in the Rehabilitation Stage (SMPSD-RS). The reliability and validity of the SMPSD-RS were also verified using several statistical methods. Results EFA extracted a 24-item, five-factor (cognition, sleep, behavior, emotion, and obsession) model that can clinically explain the symptoms of PSD during the rehabilitation stage. A first-order CFA confirmed the EFA model with good model fit indices, and the second-order CFA further confirmed the five-factor structure model and showed acceptable model fit indices. Acceptable reliability and validity were also achieved by the corresponding indicators. Conclusion The SMPSD-RS was proven to have a stable factor structure and was confirmed to be reliable and valid for assessing PSD symptoms in stroke patients during the rehabilitation stage.

Abstract Transition metal chalcogenides have been identified as low-cost and efficient electrocatalysts to promote the hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline media. However, the identification of active sites and the underlying catalytic mechanism remain elusive. In this work, we employ operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy and near-ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to elucidate that NiS undergoes an in-situ phase transition to an intimately mixed phase of Ni3S2 and NiO, generating highly active synergistic dual sites at the Ni3S2/NiO interface. The interfacial Ni is the active site for water dissociation and OH* adsorption while the interfacial S acts as the active site for H* adsorption and H2 evolution. Accordingly, the in-situ formation of Ni3S2/NiO interfaces enables NiS electrocatalysts to achieve an overpotential of only 95 ± 8 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm−2. Our work highlighted that the chemistry of transition metal chalcogenides is highly dynamic, and a careful control of the working conditions may lead to the in-situ formation of catalytic species that boost their catalytic performance.

Abstract Nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS) has emerged as a powerful tool for RNA modification identification. However, concurrently detecting multiple types of modifications in a single DRS sample remains a challenge. Here, we develop TandemMod, a transferable deep learning framework capable of detecting multiple types of RNA modifications in single DRS data. To train high-performance TandemMod models, we generate in vitro epitranscriptome datasets from cDNA libraries, containing thousands of transcripts labeled with various types of RNA modifications. We validate the performance of TandemMod on both in vitro transcripts and in vivo human cell lines, confirming its high accuracy for profiling m6A and m5C modification sites. Furthermore, we perform transfer learning for identifying other modifications such as m7G, Ψ, and inosine, significantly reducing training data size and running time without compromising performance. Finally, we apply TandemMod to identify 3 types of RNA modifications in rice grown in different environments, demonstrating its applicability across species and conditions. In summary, we provide a resource with ground-truth labels that can serve as benchmark datasets for nanopore-based modification identification methods, and TandemMod for identifying diverse RNA modifications using a single DRS sample.

To clarify the evolution of lamellar phases in the initial microstructure of the Mg-9Gd-0.8Al alloy during the extrusion process and the effect of lamellar phases on the dynamic recrystallization of the extruded Mg alloy, the solid solution treated Mg-9Gd-0.8Al (SS10) alloy, was extruded at different temperatures (380, 400, and 450 °C). With the extrusion temperature increasing, the average size of dynamically recrystallized (DRXed) grains and the second phases decreases firstly and then increases. However, the volume fraction of DRXed grains shows an opposite trend, while the amount of the second phases consistently decreases. The as-extruded SS10 alloy demonstrates superior mechanical properties when extruded at 400 °C, with a yield strength (YS) of 240 MPa, ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of 298 MPa, and elongation (EL) of 19.3%. The alloy achieves enhanced strength through grain boundary strengthening, dislocation strengthening, and Orowan strengthening. Moreover, the presence of DRXed grains with a weak texture plays a significant role in the improvement of the ductility of the alloy.

Owing to the hexagonal close-packed (HCP) crystal structure inherent in Mg alloys, strong basal texture can readily be induced through the processes of rolling or extrusion. The anisotropy of the texture of Mg alloys impacts their stamping and forming capabilities, limiting their use in certain applications. Microalloying and shear deformation are currently the most common methods of weakening the texture of Mg alloys. Many shearing processes have been extensively studied, and given that they require complex equipment and make it difficult to achieve mass production, major attention has turned to studying the design of microalloys. Traditional trial-and-error approaches for developing micro-alloying confront many challenges, including longer test cycles and increasing expenses. The rapid advancement of big data and artificial intelligence opens up a new channel for the efficient advancement of metallic materials, specifically the application of machine learning to aid in the design of Mg alloys. ML modeling can be used to find correlations between features and attributes in data, allowing for the development and design of high-performance Mg alloys. The article provides an extensive overview of machine learning applications in Mg alloys. These include the discovery of high-performance alloys, the selection of coating designs, the design of Mg matrix composites, the prediction of second phases, the microstructure modification, optimization of rolling or extrusion parameters, and the prediction of mechanical and corrosion properties. In conclusion, challenges and prospects for the rational design of alloys with machine learning support were discussed.

Abstract Objectives Older people are more likely to have digital exclusion, which is associated with poor health. This study investigated the relationship between digital exclusion and cognitive impairment in older adults from 23 countries across five longitudinal surveys. Design and measurements Digital exclusion is defined as self-reported non-use of the Internet. We assessed cognitive impairment on three dimensions: orientation, memory, and executive function. We used generalized estimation equations fitting binary logistic regression with exchangeable correlations to study the relationship between digital exclusion and cognitive impairment, and apply the minimum sufficiently adjusted set of causally directed acyclic graphs as the adjusted variable. Setting and participants We pooled a nationally representative sample of older adults from five longitudinal studies, including the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal study (CHARLS), the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), the Mexican Health and Ageing Study (MHAS) and the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in European (SHARE). Results We included 62,413 participants from five longitudinal studies. Digital exclusion varied by country, ranging from 21.69% (SHARE) in Denmark to 97.15% (CHARLS) in China. In the original model, digital exclusion was significantly associated with cognitive impairment in all five studies. In the adjusted model, these associations remained statistically significant: CHARLS (Odds ratio [OR] = 2.81, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.84–4.28, ELSA (1.92 [1.70–2.18]), HRS(2.48[2.28–2.71), MHAS (1.92 [1.74–2.12]), and SHARE (2.60 [2.34–2.88]). Conclusion Our research shows that a significant proportion of older people suffer from digital exclusion, especially in China. Digital exclusion was positively correlated with cognitive impairment. These findings suggest that digital inclusion could be an important strategy to improve cognitive function and reduce the risk of cognitive impairment in older adults.

Background: Parastomal hernia is one of the potential complications after enterostomy. There is currently no early risk assessment tool for parastomal hernia. Methods: The current investigation was conducted using retrospective studies. A total of 302 cases were used develop and internally to validate a nomogram prediction model, and 67 cases were used for external validation. Independent risk factors for parastomal hernia after permanent sigmoid colostomy were assessed via univariate analysis and binary logistic regression analysis. The nomogram prediction model was established based on independent risk factors. Results: Body mass index, serum albumin, age, sex, and stoma diameter were independent risk factors for parastomal hernia. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves were 0.909 in the development group and 0.801 in the validation group. The Hosmer-Lemeshow test (P > 0.05) and calibration curves indicated good consistency between actual observations and predicted probabilities. Conclusions: A nomogram prediction model was constructed and validated based on risk factors for parastomal hernia. The nomogram could be generalized to patients undergoing surgery for stoma by specialized surgeons to provide relevant references for stoma patients.

The accumulation of rounding errors can lead to unreliable results. Therefore, accurate and efficient algorithms are required. A processor from the ARMv8 architecture has introduced new instructions for high-precision computation. We have redesigned and implemented accurate summation and the accurate dot product. The number of floating-point operations has been reduced from 7n−5 and 10n−5 to 4n−2 and 7n−2, compared with the classic compensated precision algorithms. It has been proven that our accurate summation and dot algorithms’ error bounds are γn−1γncond+u and γnγn+1cond+u, where ‘cond’ denotes the condition number, γn=n·u/(1−n·u), and u denotes the relative rounding error unit. Our accurate summation and dot product achieved a 1.69× speedup and a 1.14× speedup, respectively, on a simulation platform. Numerical experiments also illustrate that, under round-towards-zero mode, our algorithms are as accurate as the classic compensated precision algorithms.

In the case of wounds with exposed bone, it is essential to provide not only scaffolds with sufficient mechanical strength for protection, but also environments that are conducive to the regeneration of tissues and blood vessels. Despite the excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability of collagen and chondroitin sulfate, they display poor mechanical strength and rapid degradation rates. In contrast to previous methodologies that augmented the mechanical properties of biomaterials through the incorporation of additional substances, this investigation exclusively enhanced the mechanical strength of collagen/chondroitin sulfate scaffolds by modulating collagen concentrations. Furthermore, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) was employed to establish optimal conditions for vascular and tissue regeneration at the wound site. High-concentration collagen/chondroitin sulfate (H C-S) scaffolds were synthesized using high-speed centrifugation and combined with PRP, and their effects on endothelial cell proliferation were assessed. A porcine model of bone-exposed wounds was developed to investigate the healing effects and mechanisms. The experimental results indicated that scaffolds with increased collagen concentration significantly enhanced both tensile and compressive moduli. The combination of H C-S scaffolds with PRP markedly promoted endothelial cell proliferation. In vivo experiments demonstrated that this combination significantly accelerated the healing of porcine bone-exposed wounds and promoted vascular regeneration. This represents a promising strategy for promoting tissue regeneration that is worthy of further exploration and clinical application.

In this paper, using the data collected from phasor measurement units (PMUs), two methods based on Fisher random matrix are proposed to detect faults in power grids. Firstly, the fault detection matrix is constructed and the event detection problem is reformatted as a testing problem for two-sample covariance matrices, which is related with the so-called Fisher matrix. To save computing resources, the screening step of fault interval based on the test statistic is designed to check the existence of faults. Then two point-by-point methods are proposed to determine the time of the fault in the selected interval. One method detects faults by the limiting spectral distribution of the standard Fisher matrix, which can detect the faults with higher accuracy. The other method tests the faults based on the proposed test statistic , which has a faster detection speed. Compared with existing works, the simulation results illustrate that two methods proposed in this paper cost less computational time and provide a higher degree of accuracy and sensitivity.

Abstract Background Quinoa leaves demonstrate a diverse array of colors, offering a potential enhancement to landscape aesthetics and the development of leisure-oriented sightseeing agriculture in semi-arid regions. This study utilized integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses to investigate the mechanisms underlying anthocyanin synthesis in both emerald green and pink quinoa leaves. Results Integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses indicated that both flavonoid biosynthesis pathway (ko00941) and anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway (ko00942) were significantly associated with anthocyanin biosynthesis. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) were analyzed between the two germplasms during different developmental periods. Ten DEGs were verified using qRT-PCR, and the results were consistent with those of the transcriptomic sequencing. The elevated expression of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), chalcone synthase (CHS), 4-coumarate CoA ligase (4CL) and Hydroxycinnamoyltransferase (HCT), as well as the reduced expression of flavanone 3-hydroxylase (F3H) and Flavonol synthase (FLS), likely cause pink leaf formation. In addition, bHLH14, WRKY46, and TGA indirectly affected the activities of CHS and 4CL, collectively regulating the levels of cyanidin 3-O-(3’’, 6’’-O-dimalonyl) glucoside and naringenin. The diminished expression of PAL, 4CL, and HCT decreased the formation of cyanidin-3-O-(6”-O-malonyl-2”-O-glucuronyl) glucoside, leading to the emergence of emerald green leaves. Moreover, the lowered expression of TGA and WRKY46 indirectly regulated 4CL activity, serving as another important factor in maintaining the emerald green hue in leaves N1, N2, and N3. Conclusion These findings establish a foundation for elucidating the molecular regulatory mechanisms governing anthocyanin biosynthesis in quinoa leaves, and also provide some theoretical basis for the development of leisure and sightseeing agriculture.

Abstract Background Fecal impaction is a digestive system disease, that is most common in the elderly population and becomes more prevalent with increasing age. Manual removal can successfully remove the impaction in 80% of fecal impaction cases. In severe cases, endoscopy and surgery may be necessary. Case presentation A 78-year-old Han Chinese man living in a nursing home was diagnosed with fecal impaction; his initial symptom was overflow diarrhea, which is a rare occurrence with regard to fecal impaction. Nevertheless, we were able to effectively treat this situation by employing a new medical device that presents a novel method for addressing fecal impaction. Conclusion Early identification of fecal impaction with atypical symptoms is crucial to provide proper emergency management. A safe and noninvasive treatment method, especially for elderly patients with fecal impaction, should be chosen.

This study presents a novel technology in the fabrication of AZ31 Mg alloy sheets using continuous shear extrusion (CSE) with multiple shear platforms at 340 °C. Compared with the conventional extrusion (CE), an asymmetric shear deformation was introduced so that the basal texture deflects towards to extrusion direction. Through finite element simulation, it was found that the differences in flow velocity and strain distributions along the thickness direction can be achieved by introducing the shear strain through CSE technology. Finer grains and more uniform microstructure were obtained in CSEed Mg samples compared to conventional extrusion. The average grain size decreased from 6.33 μm in CE samples to 3.94 μm in CSE samples, and 3.39 μm in CSE-II samples. The continuous asymmetric shear force also led to the basal plane inclining approximately 15° towards the extrusion direction, leading to a weakening of basal texture intensity. In terms of mechanical properties, the CSE Mg plates exhibited higher yield strength (YS), ultimate tensile strength (UTS), and fracture elongation (FE) along the extrusion direction. These improvements in mechanical performance can be attributed to enhanced work hardening ability, texture weakening, finer grains generation, and the dislocation strengthening induced by shear strain.
