Copper pillar bumps are widely utilized in advanced packaging technologies, representing a crucial foundation for 3D packaging. However, the mechanical properties of Sn3Ag bumps on copper columns often fall short of meeting increasingly demanding service conditions. Additionally, the loss of effectiveness due to excessive growth of intermetallic compounds at the interface needs to be addressed. To enhance the Sn₃Ag bumps and inhibit the excessive growth of intermetallic compounds, CoSn₃ nanocrystals were prepared, and Sn₃Ag–CoSn₃ composite copper pillar bumps were fabricated through composite electroplating. Upon reflowing, the CoSn3 nanocrystals decomposed, resulting in a significant formation of (Cu,Co)6Sn5 nanoparticles within the Sn3Ag matrix. The (Cu,Co)6Sn5 nanoparticles not only strengthen the solder joints by pinning, but also significantly reduced the excessive growth of interfacial intermetallic compounds, ultimately improving the service performance and reliability of the solder joints.

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) and to find the possible risk factors for DRA based on two diagnostic criteria among women in long-term postpartum period. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 1000 postpartum women at five different time points (3, 5, 10, 20, and 30 years after partum, respectively). Inter-recti distance (IRD) was assessed using ultrasound imaging, while basic data were collected through self-reported questionnaires. Two diagnostic criteria, IRD > 2 cm and IRD > 3 cm, were used to present the prevalence of DRA. Univariate and multivariate analyses were employed to explore the risk factors for DRA. When using the diagnostic criterion of IRD > 2 cm for DRA, the prevalence was 36%, 31%, 22%, 26%, and 30% at 3, 5, 10, 20, and 30 years postpartum, respectively. When using the diagnostic criterion of IRD > 3 cm for DRA, the prevalence was 13%, 8%, 6%, 8%, and 10%, respectively. The results revealed that higher body mass index (BMI) was a risk factor for DRA at 10 years postpartum (p = 0.000), bigger number of parturitions was a risk factor at 3, 5, and 10 years postpartum (p = 0.000, 0.004 and 0.000), twins was a risk factor at 3 years postpartum (p = 0.001), and diabetes was a risk factor at 20 and 30 years postpartum (P = 0.000 and 0.004). (1) The prevalence of DRA in the long-term postpartum period was high, especially when IRD > 2 cm was used as the diagnostic criterion. (2) Higher BMI, bigger number of parturitions, twins and diabetes were independently associated with higher odds of DRA at different long-term postpartum time points. (3) The diagnostic criterion for DRA should be further improved to avoid excessive clinical diagnosis and treatment. (1) This study elucidated the prevalence and risk factors associated with long-term postpartum DRA, thereby enhancing clinical awareness and advocating for early intervention and prevention measures to mitigate serious adverse outcomes. (2) This study presented the research results using two diagnostic criteria, increasing comparability with existing studies. In addition, discussions on reasonable diagnostic criterion for DRA were also conducted to avoid excessive clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Electrochromism is the process by which a material applies a small electrical signal to change the optical properties (transmittance, reflectance, absorptivity and emissivity) of the material reversibly or permanently through REDOX reactions resulting from ion and electron embedding/ejection. Metal-organic framework (MOF) are advantageous materials for electrochromic application due to their high porosity, large specific surface area and orderly pore structure, that promotes the adsorption of electrolyte ions, ion diffusion and charge transfer. In addition, MOFs possess a variety of ligands and metal centers, allowing for design of composition types and pore structure sizes. This grants them the advantages of both organic electrochromic materials, such as vivid colors and fast color transformation, and inorganic electrochromic materials, like high coloring efficiency and excellent stability. This paper reviews the current research progress of MOF electrochromic materials, including materials design, electrochromic properties, and application.

Abstract Background A standard surgical procedure for patients with small early-stage lung adenocarcinomas remains unknown. Hence, we aim in this study to assess the clinical utility of the consolidation-to-tumor ratio (CTR) when treating patients with small (2 cm) early stage lung cancers. Methods A retrospective cohort of 298 sublobar resection and 266 lobar resection recipients for early stage lung adenocarcinoma ≤ 2 cm was assembled from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University between 2016 and 2019. To compare survival rates among the different groups, Kaplan-Meier curves were calculated, and the log-rank test was used. A multivariate Cox proportional hazard model was constructed utilizing variables that were significant in univariate analysis of survival. Results In the study, 564 patients were included, with 298 patients (52.8%) undergoing sublobar resection and 266 patients (47.2%) undergoing lobar resection. Regarding survival results, there was no significant difference in the 5-year overall survival (OS, P = 0.674) and 5-year recurrence-free survival (RFS, P = 0.253) between the two groups. Cox regression analyses showed that CTR ≥ 0.75(P 56 years (P = 0.007), and sublobar resection(P = 0.001) could predict worse survival. Abstract Cities are main carbon emissions generators. Land use changes can not only affect terrestrial ecosystems carbon, but also anthropogenic carbon emissions. However, carbon monitoring at a spatial level is still coarse, and low-carbon land use encounters the challenge of being unable to adjust at the patch scale. This study addresses these limitations by using land-use data and various auxiliary data to explore new methods. The approach involves developing a high-resolution carbon monitoring model and investigating a patch-scale low-carbon land use model by integrating high carbon sink/source images with the Future Land Use Simulation model. Between 2000 and 2020, the results reveal an increasing trend in both carbon emissions and carbon sinks in the Shangyu district. Carbon sinks can only offset approximately 3% of the total carbon emissions. Spatially, the north exhibits net carbon emissions, while the southern region functions more as a carbon sink. A total of 14.5% of the total land area witnessed a change in land-use type, with the transfer-out of cropland constituting the largest area at 96.44 km2, accounting for 50% of the total transferred area. Land-use transfer resulted in an annual increase of 77.72 × 104 t in carbon emissions between 2000 and 2020. Through land-use structure optimisation, carbon emissions are projected to increase by only 7154 t C/year from 2000 to 2030, significantly lower than the amount between 2000 and 2020. Further low-carbon land optimisation at the patch scale can enhance the carbon sink by 129.59 t C/year. The conclusion drawn is that there is considerable potential to reduce carbon emissions through land use control. The new methods developed in our study can effectively contribute to high-resolution carbon monitoring in spatial contexts and support low-carbon land use, promoting the application of low-carbon land use from theory to practice. This will provide technological guidance for land use planning, city planning, and so forth.

Immunogenic dying tumor cells hold promising prospects as cancer vaccines to activate systemic immunity against both primary and metastatic tumors. Especially, X-ray- induced dying tumor cells are rich in highly immunogenic tumor-associated antigens and self-generated dsDNA as potent adjuvants. However, we found that the X-ray induction process can result in the excessive exposure of phosphatidylserine in cancer vaccines, which can specifically bind with the MerTK receptor on macrophages, acting as a “checkpoint” to facilitate immune silence in the tumor microenvironment. Therefore, we developed a novel strategy combining X-ray-induced cancer vaccines with UNC2250, a macrophage MerTK “checkpoint inhibitor,” for treating peritoneal carcinomatosis in colon cancer. By incorporating UNC2250 into the treatment regimen, immunosuppressive efferocytosis of macrophages, which relies on MerTK-directed recognition of phosphatidylserine on vaccines, was effectively blocked. Consequently, the immune analysis revealed that this combination strategy promoted the maturation of dendritic cells and M1-like repolarization of macrophages, thereby simultaneously eliciting robust adaptive and innate immunity. This innovative approach utilizing X-ray-induced vaccines combined with a checkpoint inhibitor may provide valuable insights for developing effective cancer vaccines and immunotherapies targeting colon cancer.

Abstract Objectives Ultrasound-guided superior laryngeal nerve (SLN) block is a practical and painless approach to avoid the hemodynamic stress response during endotracheal intubation and relieve sore throat after laryngeal surgery. The main purpose of this study was to establish an optimal dosage of local anesthetic when performing SLN block to help anesthetists balance analgesia and side effects. Methods Twenty fresh larynx specimens were obtained immediately after resection and then injected with 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5- mL of a lidocaine-blue dye mixture at bilateral SLN puncture sites. Superficial areas of deposited blue dye were measured. Dye leakage and surrounding dyed tissue were recorded. Another 40 patients were included in the ultrasound investigation. Distances between the internal branch of the SLN (iSLN) and adjacent structures were calculated. Results The dye spread area was greater with the administration of larger doses, especially to the visceral space. A 2- or 3-mL injection of local anesthetic was sufficient to infiltrate the SLN gap. A higher incidence of dye leaking out of the thyrohyoid membrane and anterior epiglottis space was observed; furthermore, there was substantially more dyed hyoid/thyroid cartilage with 4 and 5 mL of injected dye mixture than 2 mL. There was no significant difference between the specimen and ultrasound measurements of for length of iSLN-adjacent structures. Conclusions In the Chinese population, 2- or 3- mL of local anesthetic is a safe dose during SLN block. A larger volume could overflow from the cavity to cause complications. The thyrohyoid membrane combined with the superior laryngeal artery is a reliable target for positioning the iSLN during ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia.

Abstract Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common pathological type of lung cancer, but the early diagnosis rate is low. The RNA-binding ubiquitin ligase MEX3C promotes tumorigenesis in several cancers but its mechanism of action in LUAD is unclear. In this study, the biological activity of MEX3C was assessed in LUAD. MEX3C and RUNX3 mRNA levels in the tissues of LUAD patients were determined using reverse transcription‑quantitative PCR. The involvement of MEX3C in the growth and metastasis of LUAD cells was measured by EdU assay, CCK-8, colony formation, Transwell assay, TUNEL, and flow cytometry. Expression of apoptosis and epithelial–mesenchymal transition related proteins were determined using western blotting analysis. LUAD cells transfected with si-MEX3C were administered to mice subcutaneously to monitor tumor progression and metastasis. We found that MEX3C is strongly upregulated in LUAD tissue sections, and involved in proliferation and migration. A549 and H1299 cells had significantly higher levels of MEX3C expression compared to control HBE cells. Knockdown of MEX3C dramatically decreased cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and accelerated apoptosis. Mechanistically, we demonstrate MEX3C induces ubiquitylation and degradation of tumor suppressor RUNX3. Moreover, RUNX3 transcriptionally represses Suv39H1, as revealed by RNA pull-down and chromatin immunoprecipitation assays. The in vivo mice model demonstrated that knockdown of MEX3C reduced LUAD growth and metastasis significantly. Collectively, we reveal a novel MEX3C-RUNX3-Suv39H1 signaling axis driving LUAD pathogenesis. Targeting MEX3C may represent a promising therapeutic strategy against LUAD.

Abstract Background Few studies have clarified the mechanisms linking social anxiety and loneliness in older populations. The study aimed to explore how social network mediate the relationship between social anxiety and loneliness in older adults, with perceived social support playing a moderating role. Methods A total of 454 older patients completed the Social Avoidance and Distress Scale, Lubben Social Network Scale-6, Chinese version of the Short Loneliness Scale and Perceived Social Support Scale. Bootstrap and simple slope methods were used to test the moderated mediation model. Results Social anxiety had a significant positive predictive effect on loneliness and social network partially mediated this relationship. The relationship between social anxiety and social network, as well as the relationship between social network and loneliness, was moderated by perceived social support. Specifically, perceived social support buffered the effects of social anxiety on social network, but the buffering effect diminished with increasing levels of social anxiety. On the social network and loneliness pathway, the social network of older persons with higher perceived social support has a stronger prediction of loneliness. Conclusions The study found that social anxiety can contribute to loneliness by narrowing older adults’ social network. High perceived social support can buffer this process, but do not overstate its protective effects. Thus, interventions to reduce social anxiety and improve social network and social support may help prevent and alleviate loneliness in older adults.

In this paper, an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system is considered, where the ISAC base station (BS) serves the communication user equipments (UEs) and tracks sensing targets simultaneously. Unfortunately, it is challenging to obtain the perfect channel state information (CSI) of user equipments (UEs)-related links and target directions in practice. To address the imperfection, we investigate the robust beamforming design under the statistical CSI and bounded target direction uncertainty models. With these considerations, we formulate a Cramér-Rao bound (CRB) of sensing targets minimization problem, subject to the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) outage probability constraint, the maximum transmit power limits and the unit-modulus constraint of each IRS element. In order to solve this non-convex problem, we formulate the robust beamforming design as a bi-level optimization (BLO) problem and then apply the double-loop deep unfolding (DU) approach to solve this problem. Specifically, we formulate the problem into a primal-dual problem by integrating the SINR outage probability constraint into the objective function which is further approximated by using the worst-case SINR. The projection method and Riemannian manifold optimization method are used to deal with the maximum transmit power constraint and the unit-modulus constraint, respectively. Therefore, the problem can be reformulated as the bi-level optimization (BLO) problem. The lower level (LL) problems aim to find the worst-case CSI and angle of sensing targets. The upper level (UL) problem is the primal-dual problem solved by beamforming design and the Lagrange multipliers optimization with the certain CSI and angle. Then, we apply double-loop DU neural network which unfolds the iterative gradient descent into multi-layer structure, and each layer consists of UL loop and LL loop. In addition, the trainable step sizes and offset parameters are introduced as the network parameters, and the network ultimately outputs optimal optimization variables. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed robust beamforming design algorithm.

Photothermal materials often prioritize solar absorption while neglecting thermal radiation losses, which diminishes thermal radiation conversion efficiency. This study addresses this gap by introducing a germanium (Ge) subwavelength structure (SWS) designed to optimize both solar absorption and infrared emissivity. Using a self-masked reactive ion etching (RIE) technique, we achieved a peak absorption of 98.8% within the 300 nm to 1800 nm range, with an infrared emissivity as low as 0.32. Under solar illumination of 1000 W/m2, the structure’s temperature increased by 50 °C, generating a heating power of 800 W/m2. Additionally, it demonstrated good mechanical and thermal stability at high temperatures and possessed a hydrophobic angle of 132°, ensuring effective self-cleaning. These characteristics make the Ge SWS suitable for application in solar panels, displays, sensors, and other optoelectronic devices.

Macroporous resin is an efficient separation technology that plays a crucial role in the separation and purification of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). However, the application of macroporous resins in TCM pharmaceuticals is hindered by serious fouling caused by the complex materials used in TCM. This study examines the impact of ultrafiltration (UF) membrane technology on the macroporous resin adsorption behavior of TCM extracts. In this paper, Bupleurum chinense DC. (B. chinense) water extracts were included as an example to study the effect of UF pretreatment on the macroporous resin adsorption of total saponins. The study results indicated that the adsorption of total saponins constituents from the water extracts of B. chinense on the macroporous resin followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir model. The thermodynamic parameters of adsorption, including enthalpy changes and Gibbs free energies, were negative, while entropy changes were positive. These results demonstrated that the total saponin components form a monolayer adsorption layer by spontaneous thermal adsorption on the macroporous resin, and that the adsorption rate is not determined by the rate of intraparticle diffusion. Following treatment with a UF membrane with an average molecular weight cut-off of 50 kDa, the protein, starch, pectin, tannin, and other impurities in the water extracts of B. chinense were reduced, while the total saponin content was retained at 82.32%. The adsorption kinetic model of the saponin constituents on the macroporous resin remained unchanged and was consistent with both the second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir model; the adsorption rate of the second-order kinetic model increased by 1.3 times and in the Langmuir model at 25 °C, the adsorption performance improved by 1.16 times compared to the original extracts. This study revealed that UF technology as a pretreatment method can reduce the fouling of macroporous resin by TCM extracts and improve the adsorption performance of macroporous resin.

This study conducted composting experiments using cow manure and wheat straw, employing five different treatment methods (CK, magnetized water treatment-M, magnetized water combined with biochar treatment-SM, magnetized water combined with ferrous sulfate treatment-FM, magnetized water combined with Bacillus megaterium treatment-GM), aiming to accelerate the composting maturation process and reduce carbon loss. The results of the experiments showed that the SM treatment entered the thermophilic phase on the second day and lasted for 9 days, resulting in the best maturation effect. The FM treatment increased the carbon content in the compost, effectively preserving carbon sources. principal component analysis analysis revealed significant differences in microbial community structures due to different treatments. Additionally, structural equation modeling observations indicated that different treatments affected the compost environment, thereby influencing microbial activity and carbon content. Overall, the SM treatment positively affected the compost maturation process, while the FM treatment effectively preserved carbon sources in the compost.

Abstract The difficulty of wound healing in diabetes mellitus has long been regarded as a thorny problem in the medical field. One of the important reasons is the abnormal function of wound‐related cells. A large number of recent studies have shown that microRNA (miR), a noncoding RNA that exists in eukaryotic cells, is closely linked to the functions of various cells in diabetic wound, and ultimately affects the healing of wound. This paper establishes for the first time the connection between miR and wound healing from the cellular perspective and summarizes the effects of various miRs on one or more kinds of wound cells, including their targets and related mechanisms. The abnormal expression of miRs in the wound has certain value for the early diagnosis of diabetic wounds. Moreover, it seems that correcting miRs that are abnormal expressed in the wound or artificially adding miRs that can promote wound healing has an essential therapeutic value.

In order to solve the problems of high impurity rate and large loss rate in the whole fresh peanut harvesting and production process in hilly areas of China, the method of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and discrete element (DEM) coupling is used to examine the gas–solid two-phase simulation of the cleaning device of the crawler fresh-peanut-picking combine harvester. In addition, the Box–Behnken test method is used to analyze the influence of different parameters on the impurity content and loss rate of materials in the cleaning process by taking the fan speed, feed amount, and air inlet angle as the test factors, and the optimal combination of working parameters is sought. The simulation results show that when the fan speed is 2905.07 r/min, the feed rate is 0.80 kg/s, the air inlet angle is 43.14°, the impurity content is 7.32%, and the loss rate is 4.78%. Compared with the simulation test results, the impurity content is increased by 0.68%, and the loss rate is increased by 1.24%, which verifies the reliability of the simulation model, and the research results provide some technical support for the improvement of the cleaning device in the later stages.

In view of the problem that peanut harvesting in hilly areas mainly involves fresh food, and that the peanut-picking purity rate is low and there is high breakage in the peanut-harvesting process, key components such as the picking system of a fresh-peanut-picking crawler combine harvester, the picking tooth, and the concave screen were designed, and ANSYS Workbench 2020 software was used to check the reliability of the picking roller under working conditions in hilly areas. In the process of equipment operation, the picking purity rate and breakage rate were the main evaluation indexes, and the Box–Behnken test method was used to study the speed of the peanut-picking roller, the feeding amount, and the picking gap as the test factors. The results showed that the picking purity rate is 98.95%, with an error margin of 0.98%, compared to the predicted value under the conditions of 342 r/min speed, 0.75 kg/s feeding amount, and 32 mm picking gap. The breakage rate is 4.23% and the error is 0.4% compared with the predicted value, indicating that the optimized model is reliable and predictive. This study provides a theoretical basis for the optimal design of the peanut-picking system of peanut-picking combine harvesters in hilly areas.

Background: Oxidative stress is associated with frailty and adverse outcomes in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The oxidative balance score (OBS) assesses oxidative stress from diet and lifestyle, with higher OBS indicating more antioxidants than oxidants. A cross-sectional study was conducted to investigate the potential association between OBS and frailty in US adults with COPD. Methods: A total of 1201 COPD subjects from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES 1999–2018) were assessed for frailty using the Frailty Index. OBS, consisting of 20 dietary and lifestyle factors, was the exposure variable. Weighted multiple logistic regression, subgroup analysis, and restricted cubic spline curves were used to assess the association between OBS and frailty. Results: Compared with the lowest OBS reference group (Q1), the adjusted odds ratios (ORs) for the highest quartile group (Q4) for OBS, dietary OBS, and lifestyle OBS were 0.41 (95% CI: 0.19–0.92), 0.37 (95% CI: 0.20–0.71), and 0.41 (95% CI: 0.24–0.71), respectively. All trend p-values were less than 0.05. Subgroup and RCS analyses revealed a negative linear association between OBS and frailty, with a significant reduction in frailty risk observed in women compared to men. Conclusions: OBS was negatively associated with frailty in COPD. The higher the OBS, the lower the risk of frailty, especially in women. Identifying at-risk populations with OBS and through antioxidant diet and lifestyle are potential ways to reduce the prevalence of frailty.

Abstract In recent years, an increasing number of passive radiative cooling materials are proposed in the literature, with several examples relying on the use of silica (SiO2) due to its unique stability, non‐toxicity, and availability. Nonetheless, due to its bulk phonon‐polariton band, SiO2 presents a marked reflection peak within the atmospheric transparency window (8‐13 µm), leading to an emissivity decrease that poses a challenge to fulfilling the criteria for sub‐ambient passive radiative cooling. Thus, the latest developments in this field are devoted to the design of engineered SiO2 photonic structures, to increase the cooling potential of bulk SiO2 radiative coolers. This review seeks to identify the most effective photonic design and fabrication strategies for SiO2 radiative emitters by evaluating their cooling efficacy, as well as their scalability, providing an in‐depth analysis of the fundamental principles, structural models, and results (both numerical and experimental) of various types of SiO2 radiative coolers.

Abstract Intelligent reflective surface (IRS) and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication are two key technologies in the sixth generation of mobile communication (6G). In this paper, IRS is equipped on UAV to form aerial IRS, which can achieve 360° panoramic full-angle reflection and flexible deployment of IRS. In order to achieve high-quality and ubiquitous network coverage under data privacy and low latency requirements, we propose an Federated learning (FL) network via Over-the-Air computation (AirComp) in IRS-assisted UAV communications. Our goal is to minimize the worst-case mean square error (MSE) by jointly optimizing the IRS phase shift, denoising factor for noise suppression, the user’s transmission power, and UAV trajectory. Optimizing and quickly adjusting the UAV position and IRS phase shift, it flexibly assists the signal transmission between users and base stations (BS). In order to solve this complex non-convex problem, we propose a low-complexity iterative algorithm, which divides the original problem into four sub-problems, respectively using the semi-definite programming (SDP) method, slack variable introduction method, successive convex approximation (SCA) method to solve each sub-problem. Through the analysis of simulation results, our proposed design scheme is obviously better than other benchmark schemes.

Abstract Background This study aims to explore the antibacterial activity of cethromycin against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), and its relationship with multilocus sequence typing (MLST), erythromycin ribosomal methylase (erm) genes and macrolide-lincosamide-streptogramin B (MLSB) phenotypes of S. aureus. Results The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of cethromycin against 245 S. aureus clinical isolates ranged from 0.03125 to ≥ 8 mg/L, with the resistance of 38.8% in 121 methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA). This study also found that cethromycin had strong antibacterial activity against S. aureus, with the MIC ≤ 0.5 mg/L in 55.4% of MRSA and 60.5% of methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA), respectively. The main MLSTs of 121 MRSA were ST239 and ST59, and the resistance of ST239 isolates to cethromycin was higher than that in ST59 isolates (P = 0.034). The top five MLSTs of 124 MSSA were ST7, ST59, ST398, ST88 and ST120, but there was no difference in the resistance of MSSA to cethromycin between these STs. The resistance of ermA isolates to cethromycin was higher than that of ermB or ermC isolates in MRSA (P = 0.016 and 0.041, respectively), but the resistance of ermB or ermC isolates to cethromycin was higher than that of ermA isolates in MSSA (P = 0.019 and 0.026, respectively). To explore the connotation and effect of it, and to break through possible “comfort” bottlenecks, we used online reviews of the Jingdong fresh food platform as research data, mined the characteristics of “e-commerce temperature” with the help of the LDA topic model, and evaluated the mechanism of “e-commerce temperature” on consumer satisfaction during the pandemic by using quasi-natural experiments and Word2vec-based sentiment analysis. The results show that “e-commerce temperature” has five connotations of logistics commitment, humanized delivery, health pledge, pandemic perseverance, and consumer care, which can effectively mitigate the loss of consumer satisfaction. Interestingly, we found that the “e-commerce temperature” has a limited “comfort” effect. Additionally, further social network analysis shows that the bottleneck is mainly due to the consumers’ psychological gaps when comparing the usual e-commerce services, and cretailers can repair them through financial compensation and spiritual solace. The study explores e-commerce service quality at different pandemic stages with the help of text mining techniques, enriches the theory of e-commerce research, and alleviates the Hawthorne bias in traditional empirical studies. This study also provides a reference for e-retailers to improve service quality and respond to emergencies in a changing post-pandemic era.

During rapid economic development and urbanisation, land expansion in built-up areas is China's dominant land-use change type, resulting in the loss of ecosystem service value (ESV). Economic development is China's main driving force for built-up land expansion. Under the trend of the spatial separation of production and consumption, expanded built-up land embodied in trade flows between regions as a scarce land resource. Through trade, a region can indirectly use built-up land from outside areas, which may affect land use within the user and provider regions. Regional ESV loss may be affected by outer regions, although previous studies have seldom considered it. Accordingly, this study quantified ESV for the whole of China in high resolution and determined ESV loss caused by expanded built-up land for each province and ESV loss flows embodied in interregional interactions. The results found that China's total ESV of terrestrial ecosystems was 37.44 trillion yuan in 2015, and the expanded built-up land resulted in a loss of 13.7 billion yuan in ESV. Due to the north–south differences in natural and economic levels in China, there was significant spatial heterogeneity in ESV and ESV loss caused by built-up land expansion, with the high-value areas mainly in the southern coastal areas. With regional interaction, the leading regional flow direction of built-up land and ESV loss was from north to south, mainly from economically developing regions to economically developed regions. However, there was a discrepancy between the actual users of the built-up land and the ESV loss-bearers. Evident regional inequalities existed in several provinces with regional interactions. Overall, this study provides a reference for developing China's interregional economic and ecological harmony strategies in the context of sustainable development.

This thesis focuses on the issue of glare during helicopter night navigation, which is caused by the high reflectivity of cockpit instruments, displays, and windshield surfaces. This can result in pilot eye fatigue and pose a serious threat to flight safety. To address this problem, a bionic moth eye antireflection structure is designed and prepared on the windshield glass surface using a combination of self-assembly and reactive ion beam technology. The aim is to reduce the surface reflectivity of the windshield glass and prevent glare. The anti-reflective structure comprises of conical structures with a size cycle of 15 nm and a structure height of 2000 nm. The surface of both sides is microstructured, resulting in a reduction of surface reflectivity from 8% to 0.5% at the wavelength of 300 nm to 800 nm. The passing rate is increased from 92% to 99.5%, and the applicable angle is greater than 50°). The anti-glare ability is improved by about 16 times. This thesis proposes a solution to the problem of glare during helicopter night navigation by designing and implementing a bionic moth eye antireflection structure on the windshield glass surface using self-assembly and reactive ion beam technology. The results show a significant reduction in surface reflectivity and improved anti-glare ability, which can contribute to enhancing flight safety.

BackgroundA healthy lifestyle is beneficial to individuals’ health. However, little is known about the associations of lifestyle factors with mental health and well-being. This study examined the associations of lifestyle factors with mental health (i.e., depression, anxiety, loneliness, perceived pressure, and self-rated health status) and well-being in Chinese adults.MethodsA nationally representative survey was conducted in China from 20 June 2022 to 31 August 2022. Data from the survey were analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the associations of lifestyle with mental health and well-being in Chinese adults. Standardized regression coefficients (β) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated using multiple linear regression.ResultsThe survey included 28,138 Chinese adults. Multiple linear regression results showed that there were significant negative associations of lifestyle scores with scores of depression (β = −0.93, 95% CI: −0.98, −0.88), anxiety (β = −0.71, 95% CI: −0.76, −0.67), loneliness (β = −0.23, 95% CI: −0.24, −0.21), and perceived pressure (β = −0.19, 95% CI: −0.22, −0.16). Moreover, there were significant positive associations of lifestyle with self-rated health status (β = 1.99, 95% CI: 1.79, 2.20) and well-being (β = 0.96, 95% CI: 0.91, 1.02).ConclusionThis study provides insight into the associations of lifestyle factors with mental health and well-being and highlights the importance of improving and maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviors for favorable mental health and well-being.

Most internal organs in humans and other vertebrates exhibit striking left-right asymmetry in position and structure. Variation of normal organ positioning results in left-right asymmetry disorders and presents as internal organ reversal or randomization. Up to date, at least 82 genes have been identified as the causative genetic factors of left-right asymmetry disorders. This study sought to discover potential pathogenic variants responsible for left-right asymmetry disorder present in a Han-Chinese family using whole exome sequencing combined with Sanger sequencing. Novel compound heterozygous variants, c.5690A>G (p.Asn1897Ser) and c.7759G>A (p.Val2587Met), in the dynein axonemal heavy chain 1 gene (DNAH1), were found in the proband and absent in unaffected family members. Conservation analysis has shown that the variants affect evolutionarily conserved residues, which may impact the tertiary structure of the DNAH1 protein. The novel compound heterozygous variants may potentially bear responsibility for left-right asymmetry disorder, which results from a perturbation of left-right axis coordination at the earliest embryonic development stages. This study broadens the variant spectrum of left-right asymmetry disorders and may be helpful for genetic counseling and healthcare management for the diagnosed individual, and promotes a greater understanding of the pathophysiology.

ObjectiveThe aim of the study is to explore the expectations of a group of first-year nursing students in China about developing their verbal and social interactional skills during their nursing education.BackgroundNursing students’ communication skills were not fully developed in China. Students have many challenges to face regarding developing their nursing skills, especially interaction skills, when they start their education.DesignA qualitative design was used in this research.MethodTwelve second-semester undergraduate nursing students were interviewed on the basis of purposive sampling, and qualitative content analysis was employed.ResultsThe main theme was ‘facilitating a caring nurse–patient relationship’ and ‘using a knowledge base for performing nursing care’. The first theme comprises two sub-themes, ‘caring approach’ and ‘helping and involving the patient in care’, with three and two categories, respectively. The second theme comprises the two sub-themes, ‘knowledge needed to be able to understand the patient’ and ‘health and treatment information’, with three and two categories, respectively.ConclusionA synthesis of both knowledge and practice is needed to improve the nursing students’ interaction and professional skills during their nursing education.

Solar-driven water evaporation is considered to be a viable and very efficient technology for fresh water production. Unfortunately, the photothermal membrane has a low absorptivity, low photothermal conversion and poor recyclability, which are difficult to meet the demands of self-floating solar driven evaporators in practical applications. Herein, a hierarchical nanostructure Ni3S2 has been prepared by in-situ growing method on Ni foam (NF), which shows excellent absorptivity, outstanding recyclable and high mechanically durable properties. The photothermal membrane was composed of hierarchical nanostructure Ni3S2@NF, which exhibited excellent solar absorption (93.13%) in the wavelength range of 250 –2500 nm and sustained anti-corrosion capacity for one month. In addition, the hierarchical nanostructure Ni3S2 @NF has good hydrophilicity and strong binding force, indicating this photothermal membrane exhibits good stability and outstanding photothermal conversion efficiency. An evaporation system based on 3D Ni3S2@NF membrane exhibited excellent water evaporation ability，the highest water evaporation rate (1.53 kg m−2 h−1) and the photothermal conversion efficiency （84.7%） under 1 sun illumination. In the desalination experiment, the water evaporation rate and photothermal conversion efficiency almost keep constant over 5 cycles tests and do not decrease compared with the experiment in pure water. This result demonstrated that the Ni3S2@NF membrane has shown good corrosion resistance and outstanding recyclability. Due to the simple preparation method, low cost, outstanding recyclability and high mechanical durability in the sea water, this Ni3S2@NF membrane have great potential for long-term solar distillation applications.

In the development of chemo-immunotherapy, many efforts have been focusing on designing suitable carriers to realize the co-delivery of chemotherapeutic and immunotherapeutic with different physicochemical properties and mechanisms of action. Besides, rapid drug release at the tumor site with minimal drug degradation is also essential to facilitate the antitumor effect in a short time. Here, we reported a cancer cell membrane-coated pH-responsive nanogel (NG@M) to co-deliver chemotherapeutic paclitaxel (PTX) and immunotherapeutic agent interleukin-2 (IL-2) under mild conditions for combinational treatment of triple-negative breast cancer. In the designed nanogels, the synthetic copolymer PDEA-co-HP-β-cyclodextrin-co-Pluronic F127 and charge reversible polymer dimethylmaleic anhydride-modified polyethyleneimine endowed nanogels with excellent drug-loading capacity and rapid responsive drug-releasing behavior under acidic tumor microenvironment. Benefited from tumor homologous targeting capacity, NG@M exhibited 4.59-fold higher accumulation at the homologous tumor site than heterologous cancer cell membrane-coated NG. Rapidly released PTX and IL-2 enhanced the maturation of dendritic cells and quickly activated the antitumor immune response in situ, followed by prompted infiltration of immune effector cells. By the combined chemo-immunotherapy, enhanced antitumor effect and efficient pulmonary metastasis inhibition were achieved with a prolonged median survival rate (39 days).

Abstract Aim To explore the prevalence of nurse‐patient disputes and the influencing factors based on an analysis of patient characteristics. Design A cross‐sectional study. Methods This study used the convenience sampling method. Three self‐designed questionnaires based on clinical experience and literature review were used to collect the current status of nurse‐patient disputes and to assess patients’ humanistic qualities and patients’ recognition of nursing work. The Big Five personality questionnaire was used to assess the five personality traits of patients. Results Of the patients, 9.6% reported having a dispute with nurses. The results of binary logistic regression analysis indicated that patients’ humanistic quality, recognition of nursing work and agreeableness in personality traits had a negative predictive effect on nurse‐patient disputes, while family monthly income and neuroticism in personality traits positively predicted disputes.

Abstract Prussian Blue (PB) is an excellent electrochromic (EC) material, possessing many praiseworthy advantages such as proper redox potential, large transmittance, environmental benignity, neutral colored state, and low cost. However, the co‐influence of weak interaction force and low electrical conductivity results in poor cyclic stability and slow switching speed. In this work, the novel Pt/Au and Au/PB films are prepared by electrodeposition to improve the EC properties of PB. The introduction of Au and Pt nanoparticles not only enhances the conductivity and inhibits polarization, but also increases the contact area and alleviates the stress and strain caused by volume expansion during ion insertion/extraction. Furthermore, the Pt/PB and Au/PB heterojunction with a strong inner electronic field promote the separation of electrons and holes and quicken charge transfer. In consideration of the better electrical conductivity, higher transmittance and strong local plasma resonance effect of Au nanoparticles, the Au/PB film shows ultrastable EC cyclic stability (96.4% after 2000), fast coloration/bleaching switching time (1.36/2.32 s), small charge transfer resistance (38.2 Ω), and high coloration efficiency (131.3 cm2 C−1). In addition, the EC iris devices are designed and assembled using Au/PB film as an EC layer to confirm the feasibility of the material in digital cameras and mobile phones.

Genus Paris has numerous bioactive constituents such as steroid saponins, flavonoids, and polysaccharose which are responsible for antitumor, hemostatic, and anthelmintic, etc. In this study, ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography coupled to time-of-flight mass spectrometer (UHPLC-QTOF-MS) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy in combination with multivariable analysis were employed to discriminate the different species of Paris including P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis (PPY), P. polyphylla var. alba, P. mairei (PM), P. vietnamensis, and P. polyphylla var. stenophylla. Partial least square discriminate analysis based on UHPLC, FT-IR, and midlevel data fusion was used to distinguish 43 batches of Paris. Chemical constituents of different species Paris were determined by UHPLC-QTOF-MS. The result indicated that midlevel data fusion had a good performance in the classification compared to a single analytical technology. A total of 47 compounds were identified in different species Paris. The similar results indicated that PM could be treated as a proposal substitute of PPY.

Background and Objective: Both Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD) are progressive neurodegenerative diseases. Early identification is very important for the prevention and intervention of their progress. Hippocampus plays a crucial role in cognition, in which there are correlations between atrophy of Hippocampal subfields and cognitive impairment in neurodegenerative diseases. Exploring biomarkers in the prediction of early cognitive impairment in AD and PD is significant for understanding the progress of neurodegenerative diseases. Methods: A multi-scale attention-based deep learning method is proposed to perform computer-aided diagnosis for neurodegenerative disease based on Hippocampal subfields. First, the two dimensional (2D) Hippocampal Mapping Image (HMI) is constructed and used as input of three branches of the following network. Second, the multi-scale module and attention module are integrated into the 2D residual network to improve the diversity of the extracted features and capture significance of various voxels for classification. Finally, the role of Hippocampal subfields in the progression of different neurodegenerative diseases is analyzed using the proposed method. Results: Classification experiments between normal control (NC), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), AD, PD with normal cognition (PD-NC) and PD with mild cognitive impairment (PD-MCI) are carried out using the proposed method. Experimental results show that subfields subiculum, presubiculum, CA1, and molecular layer are strongly correlated with cognitive impairment in AD and MCI, subfields GC-DG and fimbria are sensitive in detecting early stage of cognitive impairment in MCI, subfields CA3, CA4, GC-DG, and CA1 show significant atrophy in PD. For exploring the role of Hippocampal subfields in PD cognitive impairment, we find that left parasubiculum, left HATA and left presubiculum could be important biomarkers for predicting conversion from PD-NC to PD-MCI. Conclusion: The proposed multi-scale attention-based network can effectively discover the correlation between subfields and neurodegenerative diseases. Experimental results are consistent with previous clinical studies, which will be useful for further exploring the role of Hippocampal subfields in neurodegenerative disease progression.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignancy of the liver. Although the RNA modification N6-methyladenine (m6A) has been reported to be involved in HCC carcinogenesis, early diagnostic markers and promising personalized therapeutic targets are still lacking. In this study, we identified that 19 m6A regulators and 34 co-expressed lncRNAs were significantly upregulated in HCC samples; based on these factors, we established a prognostic signal of HCC associated with 9 lncRNAs and 19 m6A regulators using LASSO Cox regression analysis. Kaplan-Meier survival estimate revealed correlations between the risk scores and patients’ OS in the training and validation dataset. The ROC curve demonstrated that the risk score-based curve has satisfactory prediction efficiency for both training and validation datasets. Multivariate Cox’s proportional hazard regression analysis indicated that the risk score was an independent risk factor within the training and validation dataset. In addition, the risk score could distinguish HCC patients from normal non-cancerous samples and HCC samples of different pathological grades. Eventually, 232 mRNAs were co-expressed with these 9 lncRNAs according to GSE101685 and GSE112790; these mRNAs were enriched in cell cycle and cell metabolic activities, drug metabolism, liver disease-related pathways, and some important cancer related pathways such as p53, MAPK, Wnt, RAS and so forth. The expression of the 9 lncRNAs was significantly higher in HCC samples than that in the neighboring non-cancerous samples. Altogether, by using the Consensus Clustering, PCA, ESTIMATE algorithm, LASSO regression model, Kaplan-Meier survival assessment, ROC curve analysis, and multivariate Cox’s proportional hazard regression model analysis, we established a prognostic marker consisting of 9 m6A regulator-related lncRNAs that markers may have prognostic and diagnostic potential for HCC.

IntroductionAging brings with an increased risk of chronic diseases among older adults, which could affect health outcomes. Evidence has showed that health literacy is associated with health outcomes. However, limited studies explore the underlying mechanism between health literacy and health outcomes. Hence, this study aimed to determine whether self-efficacy for managing chronic disease mediates the relationship between health literacy and health outcomes among older patients with chronic diseases, and to explore whether disease duration moderates the relationship between health literacy, self-efficacy for managing chronic disease, and health outcomes.MethodsParticipants were recruited from tertiary hospitals in Zhejiang Province, China from May 2019 to June 2020 using a convenience sampling method. A total of 471 older patients with chronic diseases completed questionnaires measuring demographics, disease-related information, health literacy, self-efficacy for managing chronic disease, and health outcomes. The mediation effect was examined using the structural equation model method, based on the bias-corrected bootstrapping method. The moderation effect was tested by the multiple-group analysis.ResultsA good fit model suggested that self-efficacy for managing chronic disease partially mediated the relationships between health literacy and health outcomes. In addition, disease duration moderated the relationships between health literacy, self-efficacy for managing chronic disease, and health outcomes.DiscussionThe findings highlight that adequate health literacy improved health outcomes among older patients with chronic diseases, which was further promoted by self-efficacy for managing chronic diseases. Moreover, a long disease duration could enhance the effect.

This study proposes a negative-pressure fruit-soil separating device for peanuts cultivated in hilly and mountainous areas after combined harvesting, and the mechanism of the movement of the material in the process of material screening, fruit-soil separating, and pneumatic conveying of the device was analyzed. In addition, a four-factor, three-level Box-Behnken regression design test was used to explore the optimum operating parameters of the peanut fruit-soil separation device. The results showed that the best fruit-soil separation effect was achieved when the wind speed of the blower was 13.58 m/s, the height of the suction nozzle from the screen surface was 27 mm, the length of the suction port was 64 mm, and the feeding rate was 600 kg/h. Validation tests demonstrated that the impurity rate of 0.16% and the peanut pod loss rate of 0.2% exceeded the industry standard, indicating superior performance.

Abstract Aim To identify the symptom clusters of early‐stage poststroke depression (PSD) and provide an in‐depth understanding of the symptoms. Design A mixed‐methods study with a convenient sampling method was used. Methods A cross‐sectional questionnaire survey in 231 stroke patients and semi‐structured interviews in 14 stroke patients were conducted in the neurological department of a comprehensive hospital in Southeast China. Data from the questionnaire survey were analysed through descriptive and exploratory factor analyses; data from the semi‐structured interview were transcribed verbatim and analysed through inductive content analysis. This study adheres to the GRAMMS checklist. Results Exploratory factor analysis revealed six symptom clusters of early‐stage PSD that accounted for an ideal variance in PSD: nervous, wakefulness, emotional, dull, guilt and low mood. Further, inductive content analysis revealed five themes that were like the above symptom clusters, except for the dull symptom cluster.

Shielding materials are crucial in protecting devices against electromagnetic radiation but are often heavyweight and operate in narrow frequency ranges. Here, highly conductive, lightweight, ultrathin, and flexible membranes based on Ag-WO3-coated polymeric nanofibers provide multispectral shielding from microwaves to X-rays.

Radiative cooling without energy input is an appealing heat exchange form based on passive heat radiation from radiative coolers to outer space, which is attributed to its potential to relieve energy and environmental crisis effectively. In recent years, along with the development of micro and nano design, the corresponding radiation cooling technology has also been developed by leaps and bounds. People are not only strict with the functionality of the designed material but also pursue the aesthetics of the designed coolers (colored coolers). However, the conventional cooling surfaces have difficulty supporting the appearance of color due to their high broadband solar reflectivity. Thus, many researchers have done much relevant work in the last ten years to achieve sub-ambient daytime radiative cooling with colorful effects. This work reviews several significant designs of colored radiative cooling materials in detail and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of each method. The final review of this topic concludes with a summary and looks at some of the main points for future investigations.

BackgroundTo identify gender differences in factors associated with the health literacy of hospitalized older patients with chronic diseases.MethodsA total of 471 hospitalized older patients with chronic diseases in four hospitals were investigated from May 2019 to June 2020. The self-developed demographic information questionnaire, the “Health Literacy Scale for Patients with Chronic Diseases” and the “Self-Efficacy for Managing Chronic Diseases 6-item Scale” were applied in this study. Multiple linear regression was used to assess the factors influencing health literacy among older patients with chronic diseases by gender.ResultsThe factors influencing health literacy differed by gender. Male health literacy was related to education background, number of children, monthly income, duration of chronic disease and chronic disease self-efficacy. For females, health literacy was associated with age, education background, monthly income, duration of chronic disease and chronic disease treatment.ConclusionHealthcare providers should focus on the above-mentioned factors that could help identify those with low health literacy differ base on gender. Gender-specific strategies should be developed to improve the health literacy of older patients with chronic diseases and strengthen their chronic disease management.

Abstract Background Brachiocephalic vein aneurysm is a rare vascular malformation, which is often reported in case reports. At present it has attracted much attention due to the serious complications, such as vein aneurysm rupture, pulmonary embolism, venous thrombosis, etc. We report a case of left brachiocephalic vein aneurysm with compression symptoms. Case presentation a 52-year-old male who was admitted to our hospital with irritating cough for more than 1 month. Chest contrast-enhanced CT showed a localized expansion of 5.2 cm in diameter of the left brachiocephalic vein in the anterior mediastinum. The patient received venous angioplasty with brachiocephalic vein aneurysm resection, and the postoperative recovery was well. Conclusion Surgical operation is an effecive treatment method for brachiocephalic vein aneurysm, but it is still necessary to choose the appropriate way according to the type, size, location, lesion scope and complications of the vein aneurysm.

Background The relationship between body mass index (BMI) and postoperative mortality in patients who undergo coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery plus valve replacement is uncertain. We aimed to investigate the association between body mass index (BMI) and postoperative mortality among patients who simultaneously underwent both CABG surgery plus valve replacement. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 1976 patients who underwent CABG surgery at our hospital between January 2017 and April 2021, including 202 patients who underwent valve replacement surgery during the same period. We analyzed the relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality. The relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality was assessed using smooth curve fitting and a Multiple logistic regression model. Results The results of smoothing curve fitting showed that BMI and postoperative mortality had a non-linear relationship, and the resulting curve exhibited a two-stage change and a breakpoint. Postoperative mortality is higher in patients that have a body mass index above 25 kg/m2 compared to patients having a body mass index between 18 and 25 kg/m2. Conclusions Our study found a non-linear relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality in patients undergoing CABG plus valve replacement after adjusting for potential confounders. The causal relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality still requires further investigations.

BackgroundRestraint is widely used in nursing homes to address safety concerns. However, many studies have shown that improper restraint can lead to many adverse outcomes. Nursing staff are the main practitioners of physical restraint in nursing homes and play an important role in restraint decision-making and management. In China, there is still a lack of large-scale surveys on the current situation regarding the use of restraint. This study aimed to identify this situation and the influencing factors of the knowledge, attitude, and practice of nursing staff regarding physical restraint in elderly care institutions.MethodsA cross-sectional multicenter descriptive study was conducted. A total of 311 staff in 25 elderly care institutions in Zhejiang Province were recruited using a quota sampling method. A homemade questionnaire was administered to collect general information and information on knowledge, attitude and practice regarding physical restraint.ResultsThe average scoring rates of the knowledge and attitude dimensions of the 311 staff were 48.7 and 75.6%, respectively. The average scoring rate of the practice dimension of 140 staff who implemented restraint was 80.1%. Educational background and training experience were the influencing factors of restraint knowledge. Training experience, educational background and professional title were the influencing factors of restraint attitude. Restraint knowledge and length of service were the influencing factors of restraint practice.ConclusionsKnowledge of physical restraint among nursing staff is not promising. Their attitude toward restraint was inappropriate or irresponsible in some aspects. Restraint practice is not sufficiently standardized. It is necessary to strengthen restraint training for nursing staff to improve their overall level of restraint knowledge, attitude and practice.

Condensed phase particles (CCPs) of plume flows in solid rocket motors (SRMs) are one of the major causes of smog and other signal characteristics, which leads to attenuation of weapons guidance system signals. In order to study the dynamic combustion characteristics of the exhaust plume in a high pressure solid rocket motor with highly-aluminized propellanta digital in-line holographic (DIH) measurement system was used for identification and analysis of CCPs of exhaust plume flows in a SRM under 10 MPa pressure. During the SRM firing, the plume particles characteristic in the field of 9–11.5 cm away from the non-expanding nozzle outlet plane was measured and analyzed. Further, in order to improve the efficiency and accuracy of particle identification, a target recognition method suitable for autonomous recognition of plume particles in a complex background from digital holographic images was established. About 12,400 individual particles from two thousand holographic images were recognized, and the 3D spatial information (number and volume probability density function) and mean diameters were obtained and analyzed. The results showed that digital in-line holography measurement technology with target recognition method established in this paper can be applied well to real-time measurement of the 3D dynamic characteristics of the plume particle field anywhere outside of the nozzle outlet of an SRM with highly aluminized propellants. By identifying each reconstructed particle, the 3D spatial distribution, CCPs size distribution and velocity in the measurement area can be obtained.

The immune cytokine tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) has been widely concerned as a tumor therapy because of its ability of selective triggering cancer cell apoptosis; nevertheless, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) exhibits acquired resistance to TRAIL-induced apoptosis. In the present study, tumor-suppressive lncRNA cancer susceptibility candidate 2 (CASC2) was downregulated in HCC tissues and cell lines; HCC patients with lower CASC2 expression predicted a shorter overall survival rate. In vitro, CASC2 overexpression dramatically repressed HCC cell proliferation and inhibited cell apoptosis; in vivo, CASC2 overexpression inhibited subcutaneous xenotransplant tumor growth. CASC2 affected the caspase cascades and NF-κB signaling in TRAIL-sensitive [Huh-7 (S) and HCCLM3 (S)] or TRAIL-resistant cell lines [Huh-7 (R) and HCCLM3 (R)] in different ways. In Huh-7 (S) and HCCLM3 (S) cells, CASC2 affected cell apoptosis through the miR-24/caspase-8 and miR-221/caspase-3 axes and the caspase cascades. miR-18a directly targeted CASC2 and RIPK1. In Huh-7 (R) and HCCLM3 (R) cells, CASC2 affected cell proliferation through the miR-18a/RIPK1 axis and the NF-κB signaling. RELA bound to CASC2 promoter region and inhibited CASC2 transcription. In conclusion, CASC2 affects cell growth mainly via the miR-24/caspase-8 and miR-221/caspase-3 axes in TRAIL-sensitive HCC cells; while in TRAIL-resistant HCC cells, CASC2 affects cell growth mainly via miR-18a/RIPK1 axis and the NF-κB signaling. These outcomes foreboded that CASC2 could be a novel therapeutic target for further study of HCC-related diseases.

Silicon dioxide (SiO2) is a prominent material for radiative cooling applications due to its negligible absorption at solar wavelengths (0.25-2.5 µm) and exceptional stability. However, at thermal infrared wavelengths, its bulk phonon-polariton band introduces a strong reflection peak inside the atmospheric transparency window (8-13 µm) which is detrimental to its selective emissivity. Herein, we demonstrate scalable strategies for the patterning of ordered and disordered SiO2 metasurfaces enhancing their thermal emissivity and enabling sub-ambient passive cooling under direct sunlight.

Peanut whole-feed combines discharge a large amount of dust while harvesting, causing serious air pollution and detrimental environmental change. To reduce the dust emission from peanut whole-feed combines, a cyclone separation dust suppression device for peanut whole-feed combines was proposed in this study. A three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model coupled with dust particles and dust emission airflow was established to simulate the effect of a dust suppression device on capturing dust particles. Then, the effectiveness of the dust suppression device was verified by a dust suppression test system on a peanut whole-feed combine. The results show that when the inlet wind velocity of the dust suppression device increased from 15 m/s to 25 m/s, the separation efficiency of the measured value fluctuated between 90.79% and 96.07%, while the simulated value fluctuated between 95.18% and 96.59%. Moreover, the particle size of the discharged dust particles was significantly reduced under the action of the dust suppression device. The discharged dust particle size constant of the measured value was 8.6 μm, while the simulated value was 5.1 μm. The study methods and results can provide a reference for the dust suppression optimization of peanut whole-feed combines and similar agricultural machines.

Brugada syndrome (BrS) is a complexly genetically patterned, rare, malignant, life-threatening arrhythmia disorder. It is autosomal dominant in most cases and characterized by identifiable electrocardiographic patterns, recurrent syncope, nocturnal agonal respiration, and other symptoms, including sudden cardiac death. Over the last 2 decades, a great number of variants have been identified in more than 36 pathogenic or susceptibility genes associated with BrS. The present study used the combined method of whole exome sequencing and Sanger sequencing to identify pathogenic variants in two unrelated Han-Chinese patients with clinically suspected BrS. Minigene splicing assay was used to evaluate the effects of the splicing variant. A novel heterozygous splicing variant c.2437-2A>C in the sodium voltage-gated channel alpha subunit 5 gene (SCN5A) and a novel heterozygous missense variant c.161A>T [p.(Asp54Val)] in the glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase 1 like gene (GPD1L) were identified in these two patients with BrS-1 and possible BrS-2, respectively. Minigene splicing assay indicated the deletion of 15 and 141 nucleotides in exon 16, resulting in critical amino acid deletions. These findings expand the variant spectrum of SCN5A and GPD1L, which can be beneficial to genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis.

Loop thermosyphon with multiple evaporators has unique startup features and interaction characteristics between evaporators which are worth studying. In this paper, the startup influencing factors of a loop thermosyphon with multiple evaporators are studied experimentally and visually. Meanwhile, the interaction between evaporators is evaluated quantitatively using a newly defined parameter called interaction ratio, which represents percentage change in temperature divided by percentage change in heating power. The results show that the temperature of evaporators often has a local peak value during the startup, at which moment the boiling becomes fully developed. Also, the effect of filling ratio, heating power value and distribution on the local peak temperature is analyzed. For each evaporator, interaction ratio on itself is always the largest. Among the evaporators, interaction ratios of the evaporator in the middle are the largest because the competition and crowding of its flow with the other evaporators are more intense. With the increase of filling ratio, interaction ratios on itself decrease while interaction ratios on the others increase.
