There are various social support services to help people with intellectual disabilities (ID) find jobs for their independent social and economic activities in life. With the advancement of virtual reality (VR) technologies, vocational training can take place in a virtual environment (VE) without temporal and spatial limitations. Therefore, opportunities for people with ID to receive professional vocational training in a VE continue to expand. Accordingly, this study proposes that virtual intervention (VI) technology can improve the effects of virtual training and learning transfer from the virtual to the real world. We defined VI as a supportive activity that assists trainees in a VE according to their individual ability and training situation through an instructor's control in the real world. We designed the virtual intervention content (VIC) as intervening virtual objects and applied them to a virtual barista job training program. We developed the virtual intervention interface (VII) for smoothly supporting the interaction between the trainee in the VE and the instructor in the real world, especially for people with ID or beginner trainees. In this study, we derived statistically significant findings that demonstrated the effects of VI technology through two experiments conducted with 39 participants with ID. Firstly, VIC showed an effective intervention function that helped the participants solve problems during virtual vocational training. Also, we observed differences in the intervention effect according to the sensory perception characteristics of the participants. Secondly, trainees' barista job performance rates improved by 37.43% after receiving virtual training. Moreover, the effects of training were largely maintained in the job performance assessment after three weeks in an actual cafe situation. This suggests that the effects of VI-based virtual training are meaningful not only within the VE but also in the real world for the transfer of learning. Furthermore, the VI method was significantly more effective and efficient than the conventional method using the human instructor's verbal and physical intervention in terms of time, frequency, and success rate. Characterizing the influence factors of exhaust gas based on the suspended road dust on paved roads, according to the number of vehicles and their distance with regard to driving pattern, is important in order to provide a coefficient for driving patterns to find a model equation. This has been a limitation of previous studies, in which this was difficult to carry out in a large area reflecting various driving patterns because some sections were selected according to empirical measurement results, and only one vehicle measurement was used to find the level of road dust. This study measured the concentration of suspended road dust that could occur, depending on the vehicle's driving patterns, on an experimental road in Yongin, South Korea, from May to July 2023. The study was conducted to determine the degree of the effect of exhaust gas, according to the concentration of suspended road dust generated, by determining the separation distance based on real-time measurements. This study attempted to determine the changes in suspended road dust based on driving patterns in urban areas and factor in the concentration of suspended road dust with regard to emission characteristics in terms of exhaust gas and particulate matter with a diameter of 10 microns or less (PM10). This was in accordance with conditions evaluated using mobile laboratories, based on suspended-PM10-concentration-measuring equipment. This study mainly focused on the following main topics: (1) increasing the level of suspended particulate matter at less than 10 m intervals produced by exhaust gas; (2) decreasing the level of suspended road dust with an increase in the number of vehicles, with the area measured at a distance of three cars in front showing the lowest level of suspended road dust in the air and a low level for the rear vehicle; (3) demonstrating that PM10 is effective in measuring the generation of suspended road dust; and (4) evaluating suspended road dust levels by road section. Based on the results, this research is necessary to more appropriately set the focus of analyses that aim to characterize suspended road dust according to exhaust gas and PM10 content in silt. Relapsing polychondritis (RP) is a rare autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation and deterioration of cartilaginous structures such as the ears, nose, joints and laryngotracheobronchial tree. A 42-year-old man receiving treatment for RP underwent open reduction and internal fixation of a femur fracture under spinal anesthesia and with sedation by propofol and remifentanil. The level of sedation was monitored via a bispectral index (BIS), and maintained at between 60 and 80. At the end of the operation, he lost consciousness and displayed weak respiratory effort. During mask ventilation, the patient was judged to have respiratory failure due to high end-tidal CO2 (EtCO2) concentration and respiratory acidosis in an arterial-blood-gas analysis (ABGA). Ventilation through a properly inserted laryngeal-mask-airway or endotracheal intubation were impossible; instead, a surgical tracheotomy was performed. After recovering from respiratory failure with ventilatory support in the intensive care unit (ICU), he experienced the same symptoms three more times, requiring ventilatory support. The purpose of this exploratory study was to examine the direct and indirect effects of early parenting on later parental school involvement and student achievement. The sample, pulled from the 1st and 2nd waves of the Child Development Supplement data set of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics, consisted of 390 children age 2-5 at Time 1 and their families. Fathers' and mothers' participation in 5 dimensions of early parenting behaviors was assessed at Time 1, and later parental school involvement and student achievement were assessed at Time 2. Although early paternal and maternal parenting behaviors were not directly related to later student achievement, differences were revealed in the pattern of relationships between early parenting and later parental school involvement for fathers and mothers. In addition, fathers' later school involvement was found to be negatively related to student achievement, whereas maternal school involvement was found to be positively related to student achievement. These findings provide partial support for the hypothesized differential relationship between fathers' and mothers' early parenting and later student achievement. This study estimates the relative importance to child health (indicated by weight and height for age) of economic development level [gross domestic product (GDP) converted to international dollars using purchasing power parity (PPP) rates: GDP-PPP], household wealth and maternal education and examines the modifying influence of national contexts on these estimates. It uses information collected from mothers aged 15-49-years participating in Demographic Health Surveys (DHS) conducted in 42 developing countries. In multilevel regression models, the three study variables exhibited strong independent associations with child health: GDP-PPP accounted for the largest amount of unique variation, followed by maternal education and household wealth. There was also substantial overlap (shared variance) between maternal education and the other two study variables. The regressions of child health on household wealth and maternal education exhibited substantial cross-national variation in both strength and form of association. Although higher education levels were associated with disproportionately greater returns to child health, the pattern for household wealth was erratic: in many countries there were diminishing returns to child health at higher levels of household wealth. We conclude that there are inextricable links among different strategies for improving child health and that policy planners, associating benefits with these strategies, must take into account the strong moderating impact of national context.
