Purpose: To identify the risk factors for training-related lower extremity muscle injuries in young males by a non-invasive method of body composition analysis. Methods: A total of 282 healthy young male volunteers aged 18 – 20 years participated in this cohort study. Injury location, degree, and injury rate were adjusted by a questionnaire based on the overuse injury assessment methods used in epidemiological studies of sports injuries. The occurrence of training injuries is monitored and diagnosed by physicians and treated accordingly. The body composition was measured using the BodyStat QuadScan 4000 multifrequency Bio-impedance system at 5, 50, 100 and 200 kHz to obtain 4 impedance values. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to check whether the data conformed to a normal distribution. Data of normal distribution were shown as mean ± SD and analyzed by t-test, while those of non-normal distribution were shown as median (Q1, Q3) and analyzed by Wilcoxon rank sum test. The receiver operator characteristic curve and logistic regression analysis were performed to investigate risk factors for developing training-related lower extremity injuries and accuracy. Results: Among the 282 subjects, 78 (27.7%) developed training injuries. Lower extremity training injuries revealed the highest incidence, accounting for 23.4% (66 cases). These patients showed higher percentages of lean body mass (p = 0.001), total body water (TBW, p = 0.006), extracellular water (p = 0.020) and intracellular water (p = 0.010) as well as a larger ratio of basal metabolic rate/total weight (p = 0.006), compared with those without lower extremity muscle injuries. On the contrary, the percentage of body fat (p = 0.001) and body fat mass index (p = 0.002) were lower. Logistic regression analysis showed that TBW percentage > 65.35% (p = 0.050, odds ratio = 3.114) and 3rd space water > 0.95% (p = 0.045, odds ratio = 2.342) were independent risk factors for lower extremity muscle injuries. Conclusion: TBW percentage and 3rd space water measured with bio-impedance method are potential risk factors for predicting the incidence of lower extremity muscle injuries in young males following training.

Abstract Background Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centred approach that triggers learning by presenting problems cenarios early in the learning process.Flipped classrooms have been used in various disciplines using various models.Pre-class e- learning in aflipped classrooms can enrich knowledge acquisition in PBL teaching. This study was conducted to explore nursing students’experience of flipped classroom combined with problem-based learning in a paediatric nursing course. Method This descriptive qualitative study was conducted between January and June 2022.Semi-structured interviews were conducted with nursing students who were participated in flipped classrooms combined with PBL teaching in a paediatric nursing course at Soochow university in China. Nursing students were selected using a purposive sampling method until no new data were generated (n = 16). Results We identified ten sub-themes and four higher-order themes based on these sub-themes: (1)stimulating interest in learning and enhancing autonomous learning,(2)improving independent thinking and problem-solving skills,(3)cultivating team work spirit, and (4) gaining knowledge and improving skills.The findings of our research contribute to show the effectiveness of the flipped classroom combined with PBL in a paediatric nursing course. Conclusion The flipped classroom combined with PBL in a paediatric nursing course can enhances communication and cooperation abilities among nursing students, promoting common progress and the comprehensive development of nursing students.

Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury is the main cause of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and cerebral palsy. Currently, there are few effective clinical treatments for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury. Here, we investigated the neuroprotective and molecular mechanisms of exogenous nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, which can protect against hypoxic injury in adulthood, in a mouse model of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury. In this study, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (5 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally administered 30 minutes before surgery and every 24 hours thereafter. The results showed that nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide treatment improved body weight, brain structure, adenosine triphosphate levels, oxidative damage, neurobehavioral test outcomes, and seizure threshold in experimental mice. Tandem mass tag proteomics revealed that numerous proteins were altered after nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide treatment in hypoxic-ischemic brain injury mice. Parallel reaction monitoring and western blotting confirmed changes in the expression levels of proteins including serine (or cysteine) peptidase inhibitor, clade A, member 3N, fibronectin 1, 5′-nucleotidase, cytosolic IA, microtubule associated protein 2, and complexin 2. Proteomics analyses showed that nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide ameliorated hypoxic-ischemic injury through inflammation-related signaling pathways (e.g., nuclear factor-kappa B, mitogen-activated protein kinase, and phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B). These findings suggest that nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide treatment can improve neurobehavioral phenotypes in hypoxic-ischemic brain injury mice through inflammation-related pathways.

Abstract Macrophages are heterogenic phagocytic cells that play distinct roles in physiological and pathological processes. Targeting different types of macrophages has shown potent therapeutic effects in many diseases. Although many approaches are developed to target anti‐inflammatory macrophages, there are few researches on targeting pro‐inflammatory macrophages, which is partially attributed to their non‐s pecificity phagocytosis of extracellular substances. In this study, a novel recombinant protein is constructed that can be anchored on an exosome membrane with the purpose of targeting pro‐inflammatory macrophages via antigen recognition, which is named AnCar‐ExoLaIMTS. The data indicate that the phagocytosis efficiencies of pro‐inflammatory macrophages for different AnCar‐ExoLaIMTS show obvious differences. The AnCar‐ExoLaIMTS3 has the best targeting ability for pro‐inflammatory macrophages in vitro and in vivo. Mechanically, AnCar‐ExoLaIMTS3 can specifically recognize the leucine‐rich repeat domain of the TLR4 receptor, and then enter into pro‐inflammatory macrophages via the TLR4‐mediated receptor endocytosis pathway. Moreover, AnCar‐ExoLaIMTS3 can efficiently deliver therapeutic cargo to pro‐inflammatory macrophages and inhibit the synovial inflammatory response via downregulation of HIF‐1α level, thus ameliorating the severity of arthritis in vivo. Collectively, the work established a novel gene/drug delivery system that can specifically target pro‐inflammatory macrophages, which may be beneficial for the treatments of arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.

In March 2021, following the annual International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) ratification vote on newly proposed taxa, the phylum Negarnaviricota was amended and emended. The phylum was expanded by four families (Aliusviridae, Crepuscuviridae, Myriaviridae, and Natareviridae), three subfamilies (Alpharhabdovirinae, Betarhabdovirinae, and Gammarhabdovirinae), 42 genera, and 200 species. Thirty-nine species were renamed and/or moved and seven species were abolished. This article presents the updated taxonomy of Negarnaviricota as now accepted by the ICTV.

Vertical gardens have become important strategies for urban heat island migration in recent years. However, the simulation tools for green façade (GF) with climbing plants coupling the shading and wind-induced effects are still lacked. This study focused on GF effects on human thermal comfort (HTC) optimization in a transitional space. The main purpose was to develop a couple method on HTC simulations. Field measurements in a hot-humid climate area were conducted to obtain the parameters of GF foliage layers. A couple simulation method with Ansys Fluent, Ladybug, and Honeybee tools was developed. Seven GFs layouts on a standard balcony model were simulated. In field measurements, the Ave. global irradiation was reduced by 73.29%, leaf area index was measured at 1.56–3.61, and foliage cover ratio was measured at 49.74–92.88%. In the simulations, the results of the Ave. wind velocity were reduced by 0.20–0.77 m s−1, the Ave. air temperature was reduced by 0.2°C, the Ave. mean radiant temperature was reduced by 0.5–7°C, and the Ave. physiological equivalent temperature was reduced by 0.3–3.2°C. The couple method could support the architectural and landscape design integrating with the GFs in future.

Climate change has increased the intensity and frequency of seasonal droughts, which could fundamentally affect the terrestrial carbon (C) cycle. However, as the second-largest terrestrial C flux, soil respiration (Rs) and its heterotrophic (Rh) and autotrophic (Ra) components in response to seasonal drought are unclear. To investigate the effect of seasonal drought on the patterns and mechanisms of Rs and its components, a two-year continuous Rs measurement experiment was conducted in typical rain-fed managed alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) fields on the Loess Plateau in China. The results showed that the ranges of Rs, Rh and Ra in the four seasons of managed alfalfa fields on the Loess Plateau were 0.45–3.70, 0.13–2.27, and 0.33–2.14 μmol m−2 s−1, respectively. There was no significant difference in the average annual Rs between the two years (P > 0.05). Both spring and summer droughts significantly decreased Rs; however, the seasonal Rh and Ra had different patterns under spring and summer droughts. Spring drought significantly reduced the seasonal Rh by 35.19 % but increased Ra by 20.35 %. In contrast, summer drought significantly increased the seasonal Rh by 45.51 % but decreased the Ra by 35.05 %. The differential response of Ra to seasonal drought was attributed to the opposite responses of the leaf area index (LAI) and photosynthetic rate to spring and summer drought, while Rh was related to the contrasting microorganism responses to spring drought and the pulse effect of rainfall following summer drought. Our study highlights the contrasting responses of Ra and Rh to seasonal drought. Spring drought significantly reduced the relative contribution of Rh to Rs, but summer drought increased the relative contribution of Rh to Rs. These results suggest that future increases in the frequency of summer droughts may accelerate the turnover of soil C and further affect the stability of soil C stocks in semi-arid regions.

Abstract Background Globally, tens of millions of children are hospitalized every year for non-fatal traffic accident injuries, being confronted with an injured child can be extremely stressful for parents. Understandably, a significant level of psychological distress may ensue. Traumatic losses may lead parents to find new insights in life and develop a greater sense of spirituality and strength. Method Semi-structured interviews were conducted with caregivers of children who were hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) with traffic accident injuries at children’s hospitals in China between January and June 2022. Caregivers were selected using a purposive sampling method until no new data were generated (n = 24). Results We identified eleven sub-themes and four higher-order themes based on these sub-themes: (1) changes in their life philosophy, (2) personal strength enhancement, (3) relationship improvements, and (4) effective responses. The findings of our research contribute to a better understanding of the psychological status of the caregivers of children injured by traffic accidents. Conclusion Professionals should guide caregivers from a positive perspective, stimulate their strengths and potential, increase personnel support and communication, promote positive coping, formulate targeted management countermeasures to improve the PTG level of caregivers, and develop strategies to maintain stable mental health and well-being.

Abstract Aim To describe the nursing experiences and care needs of family caregivers caring for neonates with enterostomies in China. Design A qualitative study. Methods We conducted semi‐structured interviews with family caregivers who care for neonates undergoing enterostomy. Family caregivers were selected using a purposive sampling method from three children's hospitals until no new data were generated (N = 26). Data analysis applied the thematic analysis method. The caregivers' experiences were described using qualitative content analysis. Results The experience of family caregivers was described as growing in adaptation, where five main themes emerged: (1) complex emotional responses; (2) uncertainty about everything; (3) lack of confidence, anxiety and helplessness; (4) eagerness for professional support; (5) active adaptation, gain‐harvest and gain‐growth. These findings increased understanding and added knowledge on this topic that is rarely studied in China. Healthcare authorities and professionals should recognize and understand the lives and situations of family caregivers (whose neonates undergo enterostomy) to better identify their difficulties and needs.

Cytoplasmic dynein is an important intracellular motor protein that plays an important role in neuronal growth, axonal polarity formation, dendritic differentiation, and dendritic spine development among others. The intermediate chain of dynein, encoded by Dync1i1, plays a vital role in the dynein complex. Therefore, we assessed the behavioral and related neuronal activities in mice with dync1i1 gene knockout. Neuronal activities in primary somatosensory cortex were recorded by in vivo electrophysiology and manipulated by optogenetic and chemogenetics. Nociception of mechanical, thermal, and cold pain in Dync1i1−/− mice were impaired. The activities of parvalbumin (PV) interneurons and gamma oscillation in primary somatosensory were also impaired when exposed to mechanical nociceptive stimulation. This neuronal dysfunction was rescued by optogenetic activation of PV neurons in Dync1i1−/− mice, and mimicked by suppressing PV neurons using chemogenetics in WT mice. Impaired pain sensations in Dync1i1−/− mice were correlated with impaired gamma oscillations due to a loss of interneurons, especially the PV type. This genotype-driven approach revealed an association between impaired pain sensation and cytoplasmic dynein complex.

The composition of influenza vaccines is updated annually. To ensure vaccine safety, the coverage and adverse events following immunization (AEFI) of 6 manufacturers of trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (TIV3) need to be evaluated. In January 2022, we analyzed data from more than 1.59 million children in the Childhood Vaccination Information Management System and the AEFI Surveillance Information Management System and evaluated influenza vaccines for children aged 6 to 35 months in Guangzhou from 2016/17 to 2019/20 Vaccination rates and AEFI reporting rates. From 2016/17 to 2019/20, the 1-dose influenza vaccination rate was 25.0% (range: 20.7%-30.2%), and the 2-dose (full course) influenza vaccination rate was 21.6% (range: 17.7%-26.4%). The full vaccination coverage rate has trended down since 2017/2018 (2017/18: 26.0%; 2018/19: 8.3; 2019/20: 17.7%). Fifty-two cases (13.1/100 000) and 24 cases (6.9/100 000) received AEFI reports for 1 dose and 2 doses, respectively, mainly due to fever ≥38.6°C (39 cases for 1 dose, 9.8/100 000; 15 cases for 2 dose, 4.3/100 000) and allergic rash (9 cases with 1 dose, 2.3/100 000; 5 cases with 2 doses, 1.4/100 000). Patients who received A and F manufacturers were more likely to report side effects. The safety of influenza vaccines from 6 manufacturers is good, and it is necessary to improve the recommended information on influenza vaccines to dispel people’s concerns and increase the vaccination rate.

Background: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most prevalent neurodegenerative disorder leading to cognitive impairment in the elderly, and no effective treatment exists. Increasing evidence has demonstrated that physical therapy and electroacupuncture (EA) effectively improve spatial learning and memory abilities. Nevertheless, the mechanism underlying the effects of EA on AD pathology is largely unexplored. Acupuncture at Zusanli (ST 36) has previously been shown to improve cognitive impairment in AD, but the mechanism is unclear. According to recent studies, EA drives the vagal–adrenal axis from the hindlimb ST 36 acupoint but not from the abdominal Tianshu (ST 25) to curb severe inflammation in mice. This study examined whether ST 36 acupuncture improves cognitive dysfunction in AD model mice by improving neuroinflammation and its underlying mechanism. Methods: Male 5xFAD mice (aged 3, 6, and 9 months) were used as the AD animal model and were randomly divided into three groups: the AD model group (AD group), the electroacupuncture at ST 36 acupoint group (EA-ST 36 group), and the electroacupuncture at ST 25 acupoint group (EA-ST 25 group). Age-matched wild-type mice were used as the normal control (WT) group. EA (10 Hz, 0.5 mA) was applied to the acupoints on both sides for 15 min, 5 times per week for 4 weeks. Motor ability and cognitive ability were assessed by the open field test, the novel object recognition task, and the Morris water maze test. Thioflavin S staining and immunofluorescence were used to mark Aβ plaques and microglia. The levels of NLRP3, caspase-1, ASC, interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-18 in the hippocampus were assayed by Western blotting or qRT-PCR. Results: EA at ST 36, but not ST 25, significantly improved motor function and cognitive ability and reduced both Aβ deposition and microglia and NLRP3 inflammasome activation in 5×FAD mice. Conclusion: EA stimulation at ST 36 effectively improved memory impairment in 5×FAD mice by a mechanism that regulated microglia activation and alleviated neuroinflammation by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammatory response in the hippocampus. This study shows that ST 36 may be a specific acupoint to improve the condition of AD patients.

Many applications suitable for multicast transmission, such as video conferencing and live e-commerce, demand high Quality of Service (QoS) and require data delivery to be completed within specified delay constraints. Some methods have been proposed for constructing delay-constrained multicast routing based on network state. However, obtaining precise network latency can be challenging, resulting in inaccuracies in delay-constrained routing calculations and, ultimately, the inability to meet application requirements. Additionally, many methods engage in an indiscriminate exploration of potential paths in the network, causing significant message processing overhead. This paper proposes an Information-Centric Networking (ICN)-based approach for delay-constrained multicast routing. Our method dynamically constructs multicast paths from tree nodes to receivers based on real-time path status detection during the join message propagation phase. Additionally, we present a method for acquiring neighborhood state information to facilitate real-time routing decisions. To curtail indiscriminate path exploration, our approach uses the ICN Name Resolution System (NRS) to obtain and select potential optimal tree nodes. For this purpose, we design a multicast service registration and resolution mechanism using the ICN Name Resolution System (NRS). Simulation results indicate that our approach exhibits a higher success ratio and concurrently incurs lower message processing overhead than some other methods, particularly in situations with stringent delay constraints.

The control of transmission rates is currently a major topic in network research, as it plays a significant role in determining network performance. Traditional network design principles suggest that network nodes should only be responsible for forwarding data, while the sending node should manage control. However, sending nodes often lack information about network resources and must use slow-start algorithms to increase the transmission rate, potentially leading to wasted bandwidth and network congestion. Furthermore, incorrect judgments about network congestion by sending nodes may further reduce network throughput. The emergence of new Internet architectures, such as information-centric networks (ICNn), has empowered network nodes with more capabilities, including computation and caching. This paper proposes a method for transmission rate control that actively avoids congestion through network node bandwidth allocation. The sending, network, and receiving nodes each calculate the available transmission rate, and the sending node negotiates with the other nodes through a rate negotiation message to obtain the maximum transmission rate possible given the current state of the network. The network nodes notify the sending node to adjust the transmission rate to adapt to changes in the network through a rate adjustment message. Simulation experiments show that the proposed method is better than traditional methods in reducing network congestion, providing a stable transmission rate, increasing the network throughput capacity, and improving performance in high-latency and high-bandwidth networks. Additionally, the proposed transmission rate control method is fairer than traditional methods.

Aerial manipulator systems possess active operational capability, and by incorporating various sensors, the systems’ autonomy is further enhanced. In this paper, we address the challenge of accurate positioning between an aerial manipulator and the operational targets during tasks such as grasping and delivery in the absence of motion capture systems indoors. We propose a vision-guided aerial manipulator system comprising a quad-rotor UAV and a single-degree-of-freedom manipulator. First, the overall structure of the aerial manipulator is designed, and a hierarchical control system is established. We employ the fusion of LiDAR-based SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) and IMU (inertial measurement unit) to enhance the positioning accuracy of the aerial manipulator. Real-time target detection and recognition are achieved by combining a depth camera and laser sensor for distance measurements, enabling adjustment of the grasping pose of the aerial manipulator. Finally, we employ a segmented grasping strategy to position and grasp the target object precisely. Experimental results demonstrate that the designed aerial manipulator system maintains a stable orientation within a certain range of ±5° during operation; its position movement is independent of orientation changes. The successful autonomous grasping of lightweight cylindrical objects in real-world scenarios verifies the effectiveness and rationality of the proposed system, ensuring high operational efficiency and robust disturbance resistance.

The incidence of chronic constipation is high, and it will seriously affect people's quality of life. There are many treatment methods for chronic constipation, including dietary modification, drug therapy, acupuncture and massage, exercise, surgery, etc. Dietary modification or dietary fiber supplementation therapy is often recommended before or in combination with drug therapy, but its application in clinical practice lacks specific norms. Based on evidence-based medical evidence, this paper analyzed the importance of dietary modification in the prevention and treatment of chronic constipation and the clinical efficacy of dietary fiber supplements, natural fruits or food raw materials in the treatment of chronic constipation, and put forward the application principles and specific methods of dietary modification and dietary fiber supplementation in clinical practice, in order to provide useful assistance to specialists, general practitioners and patients with chronic constipation.

Background: Ischemic stroke seriously threatens human health because of high rates of morbidity, mortality and disability. This study compared the effects of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and butylphthalide (NBP) on in vitro and in vivo ischemic stroke models.Methods: Transient middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (t-MCAO/R) model was established in mice, and the cultured primary cortical neurons were subjected to oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R). Cerebral infarct volume, neurobehavioral indices, antioxidant activity, ATP level and lactic acid content were determined. The neuroprotective effects of NAD+ or NBP were compared using sirtuin inhibitor niacinamide (NAM).Results: Intraperitoneal injection of NBP within 4 h or intravenous injection of NAD+ within 1 h after t-MCAO/R significantly reduced the volume of infarcts, cerebral edema, and neurological deficits. Administration of NAD+ and NBP immediately after t-MCAO/R in mice showed similar neuroprotection against acute and long-term ischemic injury. Both NAD+ and NBP significantly inhibited the accumulation of MDA and H2O2 and reduced oxidative stress. NAD+ was superior to NBP in inhibiting lipid oxidation and DNA damage. Furthermore, although both NAD+ and NBP improved the morphology of mitochondrial damage induced by ischemia/reperfusion, NAD+ more effectively reversed the decrease of ATP and increase of lactic acid after ischemia/reperfusion compared with NBP. NAD+ but not NBP treatment significantly upregulated SIRT3 in the brain, but the sirtuin inhibitor NAM could abolish the protective effect of NAD+ and NBP by inhibiting SIRT1 or SIRT3.Conclusions: These results confirmed the protective effects of NAD+ and NBP on cerebral ischemic injury. NBP and NAD+ showed similar antioxidant effects, while NAD+ had better ability in restoring energy metabolism, possibly through upregulating the activity of SIRT1 and SIRT3. The protection provided by NBP against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion may be achieved through SIRT1.

ObjectiveTransfusion of HLA-matched platelets can reduce the effect of alloimmune responses on platelet transfusion efficacy; however, finding HLA-matched platelets in the population is nearly impossible. Almost all HLA-matched platelets from related are half-matched, but the hemostatic efficacy of related donor platelets is unclear. Our goal was to compare the hemostatic effect of related donated platelets and unrelated donors platelets.MethodsIn this retrospective cohort study, we included acute leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome patients with thrombocytopenia after chemotherapy. These patients were all transfused with platelets. This study excluded patients younger than 16 years and older than 65 years, or patients with abnormal coagulation parameters during platelet transfusion. We compared the hemostatic effect of related donated platelets and unrelated donors platelet. The primary outcome was transfusion efficacy after platelet transfusion, and the number of platelet counts and corrected count increments at 24 h after platelet transfusion.ResultWe analyzed 31 patients who received platelet transfusions from related donors (Treatment group) and 35 patients who received platelet transfusions from unrelated donors (Comparator group). Except for the relatively small proportion of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome in the treatment group, baseline clinical and laboratory characteristics were similar between the two groups. Hemostasis and prevention of bleeding in the treatment group showed significant superiority; the number of platelets increased 24 h after platelet transfusion in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the comparator group. After 24 h, the corrected count increments treatment group was also higher than the comparator group; in the treatment group, the transfusion effect was better when the three sites of HLA-A, B, and C were identical, and the different blood types of platelet donors and recipients did not affect the transfusion effect.ConclusionRelated donated platelets have better hemostasis and prevention effects, and no increase in adverse blood transfusion reactions. It may be a better transfusion strategy for platelet refractoriness patients in emergency situations.

ObjectiveTo investigate the characteristic changes in the gut microbiota of patients with type A aortic dissection (AAD) and provide a theoretical basis for future microbiome-oriented interventional studies.MethodsHigh-throughput 16S rDNA sequencing was performed on the stool samples of patients with and without (healthy control subjects) AAD. Using alpha and beta diversity analysis, we compared the gut microbiota composition of 20 patients with AAD and 20 healthy controls matched for gender, age, BMI, and geographical region. The accuracy of AAD prediction by differential microbiome was calculated using the random forest machine learning model. Targeted measurement of the plasma concentration of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which are the main metabolites of the gut microbiome, was performed using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Spearman’s correlation analysis was conducted to determine the relationships of gut microbiome and SCFAs with the clinical characteristics of subjects.ResultsThe differences in gut microbiota alpha diversity between patients with AAD and the healthy controls were not statistically significant (Shannon index: p = 0.19; Chao1: p = 0.4); however, the microbiota composition (beta diversity) was significantly different between the two groups (Anosim, p = 0.001). Background: As a medicinal and food homologous plant, Rosa damascena is not only highly ornamental, but also rich in a variety of active ingredients such as polyphenols and flavonoids. It is widely used in cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical industries. Objective: To study the in vitro efficacy of Rosa damascena solid state fermentation liquid (RDF) and water extract (RDE). Methods: Firstly, the effect of RDF and RDE on the proliferation rate of B16F10 cells was detected by CCK‐8 method, and the melanin content was measured by sodium hydroxide lysis method to evaluate the whitening effect of them. Finally, the antioxidant, anti‐wrinkling and soothing effects of RDF and RDE were evaluated by biochemical methods in vitro. Results: RDF and RDE within a certain concentration range (0.05%–0.5%) had no effect on the proliferation of B16F10 cells. Compared with Rosa damascena extract (RDE), RDF showed significant effects on bleaching, antioxidant, anti‐wrinkling and soothing, among which 0.5% RDF showed the best effect. A questionnaire survey for parents of children under 5 years of age was conducted to analyze vaccine hesitancy with the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) in Shanghai, China. A total of 892 valid questionnaires were collected. Descriptive statistical methods, Chi-square test and effect size of Cohen were used. Among participants, 421 (48.8%) had children who had been vaccinated with PCV13 before the survey while 227 (26.73%) planned vaccination with PCV13 in the future. The main reasons for not receiving vaccination were the fear of adverse reactions (79, 26.7%), beyond vaccination age (69, 23.3%), and no need to vaccinate (44, 14.9%). Reducing vaccine hesitancy and increasing vaccination willingness can be achieved through health interventions, lower vaccine prices, and the adjustment of vaccination strategies.

Abstract Aim To describe the transitional care experiences and nursing needs of caregivers of preterm infants hospitalized in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Design A qualitative descriptive study. Methods We conducted semi‐structured interviews with the 24 caregivers of preterm infants admitted to Children's Hospital, Soochow University. All data were collected by a trained and experienced interviewer. The caregivers' experiences were described using qualitative content analysis. Results Six Five themes emerged from the analysis: (a) uncertainty about the disease; (b) anxiety due to restricted visitation; (c) exhaustion from overwork; (d) emotional depression; (e) low care ability; (f) a variety of channels for help and a positive response. This study provides a basis for understanding the needs of their caregivers so that effective coping strategies can be implemented. Nurses' education and practice should focus on understanding the real experiences of the parents of preterm infants during transitional nursing.
