Molecular imprinting has emerged as an important and practical technology to create economical and stable synthetic mimics of antibodies and enzymes. It has already found a variety of important applications, such as affinity separation, chemical/biological sensing, disease diagnostics, proteomics, bioimaging, controlled drug release, and catalysis. In the past decade, significant breakthroughs have been made in non-covalently imprinted polymers, from their synthesis through to their applications. In terms of synthesis, quite a few versatile and facile imprinting approaches for preparing MIPs have been invented, which have effectively solved some key issues in molecular imprinting. Additionally, important applications in several areas, such as sensors, proteomics and bioimaging, have been well demonstrated. In this review, we critically and comprehensively survey key recent advances made in the preparation of non-covalently imprinted polymers and their important applications. We focus on the state-of-art of this technology from three different perspectives: fundamentals, synthetic strategies, and applications. We first provide a fundamental basis for molecular imprinting technologies that have been developed, which is extremely helpful for establishing a sound understanding of the challenges in molecular imprinting. Then, we discuss in particular the major breakthroughs within the last ten years (2014–2024), with emphasis on new imprinting approaches, what strengths the breakthroughs can provide, and which new applications the properties of the prepared non-covalently imprinted polymers are fit for. In this work, twenty-eight novel 17a-aza-D-homo-androster-17-one derivatives, which divided into two categories, were synthesized with commercial available starting material (dehydroepiandrosterone) via oximation reaction, Beckmann rearrangement, hydroxyl protection, N-alkylation and deprotection. All compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS. The structure of 14 g was also identified by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The bioactivities, brine shrimp toxicity and cytotoxicity, of all derivatives were tested. The results indicated that compounds 11 h, 11i, 11 m, 11 s, 14 b and 14 g exhibited excellent toxicity against brine shrimp with LC50 values ranging from 5.34 to 16.89 μg/mL, and compounds 11 s and 14 g displayed significant cytotoxicity against HT29 cells and A549 cells with IC50 values of 9.70 μM and 8.85 μM, respectively. Structure-activity relationships are discussed based on the results obtained from our research, and some important determinants for further modification of steroids towards the development of novel drug candidates are identified. Thermal quenching generally predominates in Er3+ 1540 nm luminescence quenching at elevated temperatures, due to intensified lattice vibration and efficient overtone vibrational relaxation by O─H stretch. This issue impedes practical device applications of shortwave infrared Er‐doped phosphors. Herein, with the mediation of surface vibrational phonons, anti‐thermal quenching of Er3+ 1540 nm emission is reported in (220)‐dominated Er3+‐doped Cs2NaHoCl6 double perovskite. The downshifting emissions can be boosted with rising temperatures from 303 to 543 K, reaching 225%@483 K of the initial intensity at 303 K, accompanied with a long lifetime of 33.02 ms at 483 K. By combining temperature‐dependent in situ Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopies with the excited‐state dynamics results, the coordination role of water molecules is verified, serving as promoters instead of quenchers on the (220) facet at high temperatures. Furthermore, efficient energy transfer from Ho3+ to Er3+ enables intense 1540 nm emission with a photoluminescence quantum yield of 78.1% under 450 nm excitation. Finally, a compact thermally stable phosphor‐converted light‐emitting diode (LED) is designed as a narrowband shortwave infrared light source with a blue LED chip. In the title compound, C(19)H(13)IN(2)O(2), the isoquinoline ring makes dihedral angles of 55.92 (3)° and 76.11 (3)° with the benzene and succinimide rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the benzene and succinimide rings is 70.37 (3)°. In the crystal structure, the iodo atom deviates from the isoquinoline plane by 0.163 (1) Å. The crystal studied was found to be a racemic twin with a domain ratio of 0.41 (5):0.59 (5).

In the title mol-ecule, C(20)H(19)Cl(2)N(3)OS, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 79.3 (7)°. The 4-chloro-6-methoxy-pyrimidine group is rotationally disordered over two sites by approximately 180°, the ratio of the refined occupancies being 0.6772 (15):0.3228 (15). Both disorder components of disorder are involved in intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

The title compound, C(23)H(17)F(2)NO, which crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, was prepared by the cyclization of 4-[2-bis-(4-fluoro-phen-yl)methyl-eneamino]but-3-yn-1-ol at room temperature. The mol-ecules display a tripod conformation. The two fluoro-phenyl rings make dihedral angles of 79.26 (2) and 85.87 (1)° [86.53 (1) and 83.67 (2)° in the second mol-ecule] with the indole ring, and the dihedral angles between the fluoro-phenyl rings are 67.74 (2) and 66.33 (2)°, respectively. Furthermore, the indole rings are located on the edge of the respective oxazine half-chair ring systems. Nonconventional C-H⋯π contacts between indole and fluoro-phenyl rings are observed.
