This paper describes a circuit that converts a wide range of personal computer video formats to a target format. The conversion is based on the bisigmoidal interpolation, and look-up tables are used for efficient hardware implementation of that interpolation. The scan converter was modeled in VHDL and implemented as a single chip in a 0.6 [[micro]meter] CMOS semiconductor process.

This paper proposes a new digital convergence system which calculates the compensation data based on the 2nd and 4th degree Lagrange interpolating polynomials, using a real time chip, and it requires only a small memory space. Experimental results by actual implementation showed that the proposed system is much more efficient than conventional systems.

In the convergence control system with the Lagrange interpolation of high degree, the unexpected movement problem of other sampling points in case of a change of a seed point was found. This paper proposes a new digital convergence system based on cubic spline interpolation to increase the quality of interpolation as well as to solve the problem. The system was modeled in VHDL, implemented with a chip, and applied for projection TVs.
