Abstract

ZusammenfassungAn 46 strumektomierten Patienten wurden die 24-Stunden-Speicherung von J131, die Aktivität des 48-Stunden-Plasmas, der Plasmafaktor (Verhältnis der Aktivitäten von 48- und 2-Stunden-Plasma), der Serumspiegel von eiweißgebundenem Jod (PBI) und in der Mehrzahl der Fälle auch der Grundumsatz bestimmt. Für die Diagnose von Schilddrüsenstörungen bei Strumektomierten ist der chemischen Bestimmung des PBI, das — falls nicht eine Jodmedikation unmittelbar vorangegangen ist — ein Maß für die absolute Hormonproduktion darstellt, der Vorzug zu geben vor dem Radiojodtest in seiner routinemäßigen Ausführung, der die Umsatzgeschwindigkeit des J131 mißt. Auch dem Grundumsatz kommt für die Stützung der Diagnose in solchen Fällen gewisse Bedeutung zu.

28. Antikörper gegen Intrinsic Factor bei oraler Behandlung der perniziösen Anämie mit hochgereinigtem Schweine-Intrinsic-Factor-Vitamin B12-Komplex

Abstract

Zusammenfassung 17 Sera von Patienten mit perniziöser Anämie, 2 Sera von total gastrektomierten Patienten und 17 Normalsera wurden auf Antikörper gegen Intrinsic Factor untersucht und bei den perniziösen Anämien eine Häufigkeit von 47% gefunden. 6 Patienten wurden durch längere Zeit mit einem hochgereinigten Schweine-Intrinsic-Factor-B12-Komplex oral behandelt; bei 3 Patienten konnte das Auftreten von Antikörpern während der Therapie beobachtet werden. Trotz dieser Antikörper befinden sich die Patienten in klinischer und hämatologischer Remission.

Abstract

We report a case of persistent infection with human parvovirus B19 (PVB19), manifesting clinically as recurrent agranulocytosis and in bone marrow biopsy as recurrent pure granulocytic aplasia. Persistence of parvovirus infection was documented by the presence of PVB19 DNA and anti-PVB19-IgM antibodies in the serum for a period of 19 months. Granulocytic aplasia occurred only when anti-PVB19-IgG antibodies were not detectable in the serum and granulopoiesis showed immediate recovery with high dose intravenous immunoglobulin treatment. This case report suggests that the erythroid precursor cell may not be the only target cell of PVB19 infection. We suggest testing for active parvovirus infection in cases of aplasia of any lineage of the haematopoietic system.

Abstract

In the cells of acute leukemia the duration of the cell cycle and its phases was determined in vitro by autoradiographic techniques. Tests were run simultaneously for bone marrow and peripheral leukaemic cells and the intracellular levels of cAMP were measured. The results suggest a correlation to exist between cAMP concentration in leukaemic cells and the growth rate of the cell population. Hence, cAMP assays appear to be suited for monitoring cellular proliferation kinetics and could provide a useful parameter for planning cell-phase-specific therapy.

Abstract

We observed three patients, who had shown a leuco - or granulocytopenia under application of the H2 receptor-antagonist Cimetidine. Cimetidine had been given in all cases i.v. and together with other partly cytotoxic substances. After ceasing the four to seven days Cimetidine therapy all patients showed a normalization within four days.
