Research question: The body of literature examining potential trickle-down effects from elite sport success to mass sport participation has grown considerably over the years. The evidence is mixed but generally suggests that when a nation's athletes win medals at international tournaments – for example the Olympic Games or the FIFA World Cup – it cannot be expected to inspire amateurs to take up sport themselves. So far, existing research has primarily focused on international elite success. Effects from local elite clubs playing in national leagues have only been examined once. Research methods: Since recent research indicates that national and cultural contexts can influence whether a potential trickle-down effect materialises, this paper aims to test these factors in another setting. By deploying panel data regression models on data from Danish top-tier professional soccer, we test whether local club performance affects local membership levels in Denmark. Results and Findings: We do not find direct positive effects from sporting success. However, we do identify negative effects on membership figures due to club relegation indicating that sporting failure can affect mass participation. Implications: A key recommendation drawn from this study is that politicians, sport managers and civil servants should be careful using the double pyramid/'virtuous circle of sport' metaphor as the basis of their decision-making because it is an imprecise theoretical interpretation of reality. Instead, stakeholders should focus effort and resources on other relevant factors that potentially can lead to higher – or even lower – levels of participation in order to stimulate such factors (or prevent those that affects negatively). Future studies should examine these implications further. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Trust is important in terms of achieving economic efficiency, as it reduces the need for costly systems of supervision and control with regards to transactions in a society. Employing data from the World Values Survey and the European Values Study 1994–2014 in combination with country-year data on the degree of economic freedom, we examine the propositions in multilevel analyses. We find very little effect either way between the degree of economic freedom and interpersonal trust and trust in political institutions. However, western coun- tries benefit from greater economic freedom in terms of increasing trust. While previous research might be putting too great an emphasis on free markets for generating trust, we find no support for the proposition suggesting that greater economic freedoms in recent years reduce societal trust generally, or in politi- cal institutions, particularly in the West. LETTING of contracts ,MEDICAL care ,MUNICIPAL services - Abstract
In this article, an investigation is made into the relationship between competitive tendering and contracting and satisfaction with health and care services in Norwegian municipalities. There is an ongoing public debate concerning privatization and contracting as a way of providing municipal services. Several studies suggest improved productivity, as well as service quality, as a result. Based on public choice and property rights theories, public organizations are argued to be inefficient. Thus far, we have little knowledge about the effects of competitive tendering and contracting on citizens’ evaluations of the services exposed to competitive tendering and contracting. To explore this, data from the Norwegian Citizen Study, covering over 35,000 individuals, are employed. The findings show that citizens and users are more satisfied with health and care services that are subject to competitive tendering and contracting compared to those provided solely by the public sector. Points for practitioners The findings of this article encourage the competitive tendering and contracting of health and care services. A positive relationship is found between competitive tendering and contracting and satisfaction with these services. Findings provide support for arguments made in Scandinavian evaluations; the introduction of competition and contracting is argued to increase municipal focus on service quality and increase service-oriented care, and is suggested as representing an improvement in attention to the ‘secondary needs’ of residents. This is especially important for public managers in social-democratic countries where the use of competitive tendering and contracting is still a controversial topic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Outsourcing is constantly a subject of high relevance, with great influence over how the Norwegian public sector is operated and how it is being digitalized. This thesis considers how different factors regarding motivation, challenges and strategy affects Norwegian municipals when they choose to outsource or backsource different IT activities. The thesis intends to compare the existing theoretical framework with the actual conditions that the municipals experience. Throughout the paper, the reader will firstly be introduced to the framework that the study is based upon, then the methodical approach will be explained, and in the end, the findings will be presented and analysed. The study is carried out as a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative survey as the method of collecting data. The findings shall provide the needed information to answer the following research questions: How common is it for Norwegian municipal to outsource and backsource IT-activities? What are the most common challenges that the municipals face while outsourcing? Do the municipals have a clear sourcing strategy? Through the study, the relevant factors will be gathered to answer these questions. The empirical data will be discussed in context with the theoretical perspective. The conclusion suggests that most Norwegian municipals actively uses outsourcing of IT activities, while a small minority has used backsourcing to reintegrate certain IT activities into their organization. Regarding motivation, the findings suggest that access to resources and competencies, efficiency improvements, and focus on core business is among the most common motivational factors. In terms challenges, the municipals experience higher costs than estimated, difficulties regarding security and compliance, cultural differences, and unexpected transactional costs. The findings suggest that most municipals have developed a sourcing strategy, in some shape or form. However, there are few developed exit strategies, and yearly evaluation of sourcing strategies is a rare occurrence.

- Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to find models for calculating Return on Investment (ROI) in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company. Literature and research will be used to define which models best serves the purpose given the conditions. The goal is to find a way to estimate ROI in Signicat AS which again can be used by the company in their internal system as a tool for measuring investments and customer. I have examined revenue- and investment data from Signicat AS, this will be used as the basis for the given calculations. To measure growth over time I gained access to a cohort-analysis that shows expected growth each year after a new customer is gained. I will be showing two methods for calculating ROI as well a graph to compare income-growth vs expense-growth each year. There is also segmentation based on country and monthly invoicing per customer; this pricing model is based of the three-staged Hierarchy of Customer Value (HCV) model. The result of the segmentation shows that using the parameter which is given the model produces a result is unrealistic. I found that ROI can calculated on projects over time and the three methods shown in this thesis gives an estimate of ROI.

- Abstract
This bachelor thesis addresses how the implementation of a digital adjustment will affect the employees in a given organization. The adjustments were introduced to Norges Senior Shop in January 2019, and are based on a new statutory regulation that requires that all cash sales must be registered and documented, which has led to the organization having to purchase a new cashier register. The relevant data for this thesis is gathered through a qualitative study in form of interviews and observations. The selected informants will remain anonymous in order for the organization to not be identified through this thesis. Responses from the informants have been transcribed and further used to discuss the issue of topic according to relevant theory. The theory chosen for the bachelor thesis supports various topics relevant for the topic issue and focuses on resistance from the employees as a result of the implementation and how the organization can deal with this.

- Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss which sourcing-strategies municipalities use and to what extent they are utilized. Furthermore, the paper looks at how they have adopted these strategies to achieve their IT-goals. We established contact with two municipalities to obtain information on how sourcing strategies was being used in the public sector. Methodically, we chose to do this through in-depth interviews with the municipalities in order to compare with academic literature. The results from both contributed to further the quality of later inquiries. The final findings show that both municipalities represent different strengths and weaknesses regarding their choice of strategy and practice. This is applicable when comparison is drawn between past and present, and how this expresses future development and operation. Both municipalities have alternative views compared to academic theory and terminology, but excel in practice where their strengths are present. We conclude that both municipalities are achieving good results in spite of different approaches, but that they should re-evaluate how they identify and categorize the available strategies. The municipalities also have the advantage of learning from each other or collaborating more closely, in which we give further recommendations and future prospect.
