Kütle transferi için itici kuvvet konsantrasyon farkı olup özellikle suni kurutma tekniğine dayalı uygulamalarda nem kontrolü etkin proses ve kurutucu tasarımı bakımından önemlidir. Günümüzde özellikle gıdaların kurutulması prosesi oldukça güncel çalışma konusu olup artan bir ilgi ile sürdürülmektedir. Kurutma prosesi ürünlerin kullanım kalitelerinin ve raf ömürlerinin artırılması bakımından önemlidir. Buna karşın kurutma prosesleri enerji sarfiyatı bakımından oldukça maliyetli olabilmektedir. Bunun dışında endüstriyel ürünlerin kurutulmasında kurutma prosesi ve kurutucu seçimi özel bir bilgi ve yetenek gerektirmektedir. Toprak sanayi insanlık tarihi kadar eskidir. İlk çağlardan günümüze kadar toprak ve toprak ürünleri insanlığın temel kaynağını oluşturmaktadır. Günümüzde toprak ürünlerinden tuğla ve kiremit hala geniş ve etkin bir kullanım alanına sahiptir. Çorum sanayinin önemli bir bölümünü Tuğla-Kiremit üreticileri oluşturmaktadır. Toprak yapısı ve toprak kaynakları bakımından Çorum ülkemizde Tuğla-Kiremit üretim potansiyeli olarak ilk sıralarda yer almaktadır. Tuğla üreticilerinin büyük bir bölümü doğal kurutma yöntemlerini tercih etmektedir. Bu durum ürün sarfiyatını ve kalitesini önemli oranda etkilemektedir. Bu bakımdan tuğla üretiminde kurutma süreci üretim maliyeti, üretim süresi ve ürün kalitesi üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahiptir. Bu çalışmada, Çorum bölgesindeki tuğlanın kuruma davranışını incelemek için kabin tip kurutucu tasarlanarak imal edilmiş ve kurutucu hava hızı, hava sıcaklığı, kabin basıncı ve tuğla yönü gibi farklı bağımsız parametrelerin kuruma kinetiği üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Kurutucu hava sıcaklığının 62, 76 ve 90 C değerlerinde, kabin içerisinde Reynolds sayısının yaklaşık 21000-34000 aralığında ve tuğla açısının 0, 45 ve 90 derece değerlerinde deneyler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Hem basma hem de çekme şartlarında aynı deneyler tekrarlanmıştır. Böylece vakum basıncının da kuruma kinetiği üzerindeki etkisi belirlenmiştir. Kütledeki değişim 15 dakika aralıklarla ölçülerek kaydedilmiştir. Hem basma hem de çekme durumu için nem içeriğini sağlayan bir matematiksel formül geliştirilmiştir. Deneyler sonucunda, hava sıcaklığının ve hızının yükselmesi ile birlikte kuruma hızının arttığı ve kuruma süresinin azaldığı görülmüştür. Çekme durumunda kurutma süresini basma durumuna göre daha kısa ve tuğlanın akışa paralel (0) yerleştirilmesi durumunda kütle transferi daha hızlı gerçekleştiği belirlenmiştir. For engineering applications, the transfer of fluids, heat, and mass has an important place. The driving force for mass transfer is the concentration difference. Especially in applications based on artificial drying technique, moisture control is important in terms of effective process and dryer design. Today, especially the process of drying foods is a very contemporary issue and continues with an increased interest. The drying process is important for increasing the quality and shelf life of the products. However, drying processes can be costly in terms of energy consumption. Apart from that, drying process and dryer selection for industrial products requires special knowledge and ability. Soil industry is as old as human history. From the early ages to the day-to-day, soil and soil products constitute the main source of mankind. Nowadays, bricks and tiles from soil products still have a wide and effective usage area. An important part of the Çorum industry is the brick-tile producers. In terms of soil structure and soil resources, Çorum is in the first place in our country in terms of the potential of brick-tile production. Most of the brick manufacturers in Çorum prefer natural drying methods. This situation negatively affects product consumption and quality. In this respect, the drying process in brick production has an important effect on the production cost, production time and product quality. In this study, a cabin type dryer was designed to investigate the behavior of brick drying in Çorum region and the effect of different independent parameters such as dryer air speed, air temperature, cabin pressure and brick direction on drying kinetics was investigated. Experiments were carried out at the values of 62, 76 and 90°C of the drying air temperature, about 21000-34000 of the Reynolds number in the test section, and 0, 45 and 90 degrees of the brick angle. The same tests were repeated under both blowing and sucking conditions. Thus, the influence of the vacuum pressure on the dryness has been determined. Measurements of mass change were recorded at 15-minute intervals. A mathematical relationship has been developed that provides the moisture content for both the blowing and sucking conditions. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the rate of drying increased and the period of drying decreased with the increase of air temperature and speed. It was determined that the drying time is shorter than the blowing time in case of sucking and mass transfer is faster when the brick is placed parallel (0 deg.) to the flow.

Dünya üzerinde büyük miktarda kâgir bina bulunsa da; bazıları atıl kalışları, bina yönetmeliklerindeki değişiklikler ve arazilerin genelde daha yüksek yapıların inşaatına yer açmak üzere temizlenmesinden dolayı yıkılıp bertaraf edilmektedir. Tercih edilen yöntem söküm de yıkım da olsa, sonuçta büyük miktarda kâgir atık sahada birikmektedir. Diğer taraftan, bu binalar her zaman yıpranma ve aşınmadan dolayı yıkılmadığı için, duvar atıkları başka yerlerde kullanıma olanak sağlayabilecek iyi özelliklere sahip olabilirler. Bu malzemelerin yeniden kullanımı sadece eski malzemelerin kurtarılmasına değil, aynı zamanda çevresel sürdürülebilirliğe de katkı oluşturur ve binanın tarihi değerinin bu malzemeler aracılığıyla yeni tasarıma aktarılmasını sağlar. Bu çalışma kâgir binaların yıkımı ve atıkların bertarafı konusunda kural ve düzenlemeleri, malzemelerin kullanılabilirliği ve fiziksel özelliklerini, çevresel etki ve ekonomik değerlendirme yöntemlerinin güncel durumunu ortaya koyar. Yanı sıra, Rusya'da bulunan ve taşıyıcı tuğla duvarlardan oluşan tarihi bir bina ile Türkiye'de bulunan, güçlendirilmiş beton iskelet ve delikli tuğla dolgu duvarlardan oluşan bir bina seçilmiş, yıkım süreçleri gözlenmiş ve atıkların son durumu tespit edilmiştir. Gözlemler, tarihi binadan gelen taşıyıcı, dolu tuğla içeren iri duvar parçalarının ve diğer binadan gelen güçlendirilmiş beton iskelet içinde bulunan delikli tuğladan oluşan parçaların; farklı teknikler ile temizlenip, kesilip hazırlanarak yeni duvar yapımına entegre edilebileceğini göstermiştir. Alınan az sayıda numune üzerinde yapılan; basınç, eğilme, kesme dayanımlarını da içeren mekanik testlerin sonuçları standartlarda izin verilen değerlerden yüksek çıkmış; bu da malzemelerin yeniden kullanılabilirliği açısından uygun bulunmuştur. Yanı sıra, önerilen malzeme kurtarma yöntemleri SimaPro Yaşam Döngüsü Değerlendirme yazılımında yeni duvar yapımı ile çevreye olumsuz etkileri açısından karşılaştırılınca; insan sağlığı, ekosistem kalitesi, iklim değişikliği ve doğal kaynaklar açılarından daha düşük sonuçlar vermektedir. Yapısal testler ve yaşam döngüsü değerlendirmesinden elde edilen olumlu sonuçlara karşın, atıklardan elde edilen duvarlar yenilere kıyasla; özellikle malzemelerin kesim ve şekillendirme ücretlerinden dolayı daha pahalıdır. Sonuç olarak, her ne kadar kurtarılan malzemelerin yeniden kullanımı çevresel ve sosyal sürdürülebilirlik açılarından avantajlı olsa da, ekonomik açıdan dezavantajlıdır; fakat daha iyi kurtarım ve değerlendirme metotları ile bu dezavantajların üstesinden gelmek mümkündür. Bu sebeple daha etkin ve fiyat seviyesini düşüren alternatifler detaylı çalışmalar gerektirmektedir. There exists a vast stock of masonry buildings in the world, yet, some of them are being demolished and disposed of; owing to the changes in building bye-laws, redundancies of buildings; and clearing the plots for new and mostly taller buildings. Either demolition or deconstruction is preferred; huge amounts of masonry-based waste are accumulated in the end. On the other end, since these buildings are not always demolished due to wear and tear, the condition of masonry walls after demolition may still be of a good quality that may be conducive to their use elsewhere. Thus, recovery of these materials not only helps to salvage the old materials but also contributes to environmental sustainability, as well as carrying the historical value of the building by integrating these materials into the new design. This study investigates state-of-art about rules and regulations, recovery proposals, usability & physical properties, environmental and economic assessment of demolition of masonry buildings and salvaging methods for their debris. Accordingly, two buildings i.e. a historical load bearing solid brick masonry building in Russia and a concrete framed, hollow brick infill building in Turkey were chosen to monitor their demolition processes and determine the eventual condition of debris. It was observed that largewall sections with load bearing solid bricks from the historical building as well as the hollow brick wall pieces from the the reinforced concrete contemporary building could be reused by using various techniques to clean, cut and prepare them for integration into new wall construction. Mechanical properties obtained from compression, flexure and shear tests on few samples exhibited higher values than allowable limits in the standards; which is conducive in terms of materials reuse. Additionally, digital models of these recovery methods showed lower environmental impacts in terms of human health, ecosystem quality, climate change and resources in comparison to the new walls, when simulated in SimaPro Life Cycle Assessment software. In contrast to the promising results (for reuse) obtained from strength tests and environmental impact simulations; the costs of the proposals for reuse are higher than the construction with new materials. This is due to the fact that cutting and shaping of the debris brings extra cost to the recovery process. In conclusion, although the reuse of salvaged material was determined as advantageous from the point of view of environmental and social aspects of sustainability, the economic aspect has disadvantages that can be overcome by better recovery and salvaging methodologies. Hence, more efficient and cost reducing processes need to be investigated. 460

Zaman içerisinde teknolojinin gelişimi ile beraber yapı malzemeleri ve oluşturdukları sistemlerde gelişmiştir. Bu gelişme hızlandıkça ortaya çıkan her yeni malzeme ve sisteme, mimarların tam anlamıyla hâkim olması güçleşmiştir. Bu durum cephe için de geçerlidir. Cephe de malzemeler ve sistemler ile beraber gelişmiş ve değişmiştir. Başarılı bir cephe için malzemeleri iyi tanımak, doğru sistemi seçmek ya da tasarlamak, doğru uygulama yapmak şarttır. Alınan yanlış kararlar kusurlara, kusurlar ise hasarlara neden olabilir. Hasar oluşma riskini en aza indirmek için kararların belirli standartlar dahilinde alınması en doğru yöntemdir. Bu standartlar projelerin teknik şartnamelerinde verilir.Kaplamalı cephe sistemleri ile tasarlanan mimari projelerin teknik şartnameleri incelenmek istendiğinde bazı projelere ait teknik şartnamelerin olmadığı anlaşılmıştır. Şartnamesi olan projelerde ise, cephe sistemi bileşenlerinin üretim ve yapım standartlarında eksiklikler, sistem tasarım ve performans standartlarının verilmediği anlaşılmıştır. Çoğunlukla bileşenler için marka isimlerine ya da malzemenin boyutları hakkında kısa bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Bu duruma teknik şartnamelere önem verilmemesi veya şartnameleri hazırlayan kişilerin yeterli bilgiye sahip olmaması neden olabilir. Türkiye'de cephe sistemi bileşen üretim ve yapım, sistem tasarım ve performans standartlarını bir arada ortaya koyan bir kaynak bulunmamaktadır. Yürütülen tez çalışmasıyla kaplamalı cephe sistemi bileşen üretim ve yapım, sistem tasarım ve performans standartlarını bir arada ortaya koyan kontrol listeleri önerilmiştir. Şartnamede eksikliklerden dolayı oluşacak hasar oluşma riskini en aza indirmek amaçlanmıştır.Tez çalışması kapsamında kaplamalı cephe sistemi bileşen malzemeleri olarak çekirdek için gaz beton blok, kil tuğla, ısı yalıtım için taş yünü ve cam yünü, dış kaplama için alüminyum kompozit panel ve seramik karo seçilmiştir. Çalışma dört ana aşama takip edilerek geliştirilmiştir.İlk aşamada kaplamalı cephe sistem bileşenleri, seçilen bileşenlerin üretimi ve yapımı hakkında bilgilere ulaşılmıştır. Devamında kaplamalı cephe sisteminden beklenen performanslar tanımlanmıştır. Beklenen performansa bağlı olarak ilgili bileşenler belirlenmiştir.Sonraki aşamada ulusal ve uluslararası standartlar ile sivil toplum kuruluşlarının yayınları taranmıştır. Standart taraması için ulusal standartlardan Türk Standartları Enstitüsünün (TSE), uluslararası standartlardan American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), European Committee for Standardization (CEN), International Organization for Standrdization (ISO), German Institute for Standardization (DIN), British Standards Institution (BSI), Standards Council of Canada (SCC), Singapore Standards Council (SSC), Standards New Zealand / Standards Australia (NZS/AS) standartları taranmıştır. Kaplamalı cephe sistem bileşenleri için seçilen malzemelerin üretim ve yapım, sistem tasarım ve performans standartları tespit edilerek tablolar oluşturulmuştur.Çalışmanın üçüncü aşamasında Türkiye'de ki mevcut durum tespit edilmiştir. Sistem tasarım ve performansı için tasarım ofisleri ve cephe danışmanları ile görüşülmüştür. Görüşmelerde kullandıkları standartlar öğrenilerek tablolar oluşturulmuştur.Son aşamada Türkiye'de yapılacak kaplamalı cephe sistemi için bileşen üretim ve yapım sistem tasarım ve performans standartlarını içeren kontrol listeleri önerilmiştir. Bu listeler literatür taraması ve firma görüşmeleri sonucu oluşturulan tabloların karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesi sonucu oluşturuluştur. İncelemeler sonucu TSE standartlarında eksikliği görülen ASTM, EN, ISO, DIN, BSI, SCC, SSC ve NZS/AS standartları ve sivil toplum kuruluşlarının yayınladığı standartlar ve rehberler tespit edilmiştir. Kaplamalı cephe sistem bileşeni için seçilen malzemelerin üretimi ve yapımı, sistem tasarım ve performansı için ayrı ayrı listeler hazırlanmıştır. Building materials and systems have been developed, as a result of development of technology. Facade has been developed with materials and systems as well. It becomes difficult for architects to know every new material and system that emerged. For a successful facade, it's compulsory to know necessary materials, selection of system and correct construction. Making wrong decisions can cause defects which can cause damage. It is the most accurate method to take decisions within standards to minimize the risk of damage. These standards are given in the technical specifications of the architectural projects.When technical specifications of architectural project which designed with cladding facade system, has reviewed, it has been figured out that some projects did not have technical specifications. Existing technical specifications did not include enough production and construction standards of the cladding facade system components. They just include brand names or sizes of materials and there is no information about design and performance standards of the system. The reason for this situation is not paying attention for technical specifications or lack of knowledge. The thesis is aimed to minimize the risk of damage caused by lacking of the standards. There are no sources that combine facade system component production and construction standards, system design and performance standards in Turkey. Also with the thesis study, this problem has been tried to solve by suggesting checklists which put together the cladding system components' production and construction standards, system design and performance standards.In the scope of the thesis, the cladding facade system components which are included aerated concrete block, clay brick as core material, rock wool and glass wool as thermal insulation and aluminum composite panel and ceramic tile as external covering material, have been handled. The study was developed by following seven chapter.The first chapter include problems, aims, scope of the thesis, method of study and hypothesis. By using the checklist, a successful cladding facade system will be obtained that will reduce the risk of damage, provide both external and internal comfort conditions, and have a long service life.The second chapter starts with definitions of terms related to thesis such as; enclosure, facade, external wall, curtain wall, cladding and cladding facade system. In the thesis, the cladding facade system is defined formed by the addition of the external covering component in front of the core and plaster components of the exterior wall, can be suspended or fitted to the load bearing system. The chapter continues with history and classification of facade system.After classification of facade system performance, performance requirements and related components are defined. End of the chapter definition of standard and standard types are given. Also in this part of chapter governmental and nongovernmental organizations which published national, international standards and publications are given. Method of searching standards and publications are explained.The third chapter is about literature study of cladding facade system components, expected performances from cladding facade system. Firstly, components of cladding facade system and tehcnical properties are given. After that information about selected materials which are chosen aerated concrete block, clay brick as core material, rock wool and glass wool as thermal insulation and aluminum composite panel and ceramic tile as external covering, are given. The chapter continues with production process and construction methods of selected materials. Last part of this chapter is performance requirements which expected from cladding facade system. Relevant components are identified depending on expected performance. So that natioanal, international standards and publications are searhed for in this direction.The fourth chapter includes result of searching national, international standards and publications of non-governmental organization. The Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Institution (BSI), Standards Council of Canada (SCC), Singapore Standards Council (SSC), Standards New Zealand / Standards Australia (NZS / AS) standards have been reviewed. Tables were created by determining existing production and construction standards of the cladding facade system components, design and performance standards of the system, respectively.In the fifth chapter, the current situation in Turkey has been identified. The existing standards were compiled by talking face to face with aerated concrete block, clay brick, rock wool, glass wool, aluminum composite panel and ceramic tile manufacturers for production standards, manufacturer and contractors for construction standards also design office and facade consultants for system design and performance standards. Production process and production standards which are used in production process, were asked to manufacturers during the interview. Also aerated concrete block and aluminium composite panel' production process were observed at the factory. Design offices and facade consultants were asked about standards they use for design and performance of cladding facade system, manufacturers and constractors were asked about the standards they use for consruction of cladding facade system components. Tables were created for the standards which are used by these companies, that has learned in the interviews.In the sixth chapter, checklists have been suggested, including production and construction standards, system design and performance standards for cladding facade system to be constructed in Turkey. With the scope of the thesis, the suggestion checklists has been prepared for each cladding facade system components' production and construction, system design and performance standards, respectively. These suggestion checklists were made the result of comparison literature review and the company interviews. After review, The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), The European Committee for Standardization (CEN), The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Institution (BSI), The Standards Council of Canada (SCC), The Singapore Standards Council (SSC), The Standards New Zealand/Standards Australia (NZS / AS) standards and civil society organizations' publications which are missing in The Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) standards, have been detected. The results were put together to create suggestion checklists that architects should use.Last chapter includes of results and evaluation of the study are given for each part, separately. End of the chapter, suggestions are presented for the future studies. 135

Duvarların dayanım özelliği, duvardaki örgü malzemelerinin dayanımı ile duvarın bir bütün olarak dayanımına bağlıdır. Duvarların boşluklu veya boşluksuz oluşu, örgü harcı, derz kalınlıkları ve örgü biçimi gibi faktörler duvarların mekanik davranışlarını doğrudan etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada, aynı geometrik özelliklere sahip 900x900 mm boyutlarında 18 adet duvar numunesi üretilmiştir. Duvar örülmesi işinde bağlayıcı malzeme olarak, takviyeli ve polipropilen lifli harç kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan harcın hacimsel olarak karışım oranları, kum:çimento:kireç=6:1:1 şeklindedir. Duvar numunelerinin üretilmesinde harman, yığma tuğla ve bimsblok örgü malzemesi olarak seçilmiştir. Duvar numuneleri diyagonal yüklemeye tabi tutularak kayma dayanımları belirlenmiştir. Numunelerden yatay ve düşey doğrultudaki deplasman değerleri alınmıştır. Üretilen deney numunelerinin yük/deplasman grafikleri, duvarların göçme biçimleri, kayma dayanımı, rijitlik modülü, enerji tüketme kapasitesi belirlenmiştir. Deney numunelerinde gözlenen davranışlar ve oluşan çatlaklar incelenerek yük-şekil değiştirme grafikleri yorumlanmıştır. Duvar numunelerinin genelinde oluşan göçme, derz boyunca oluşan diyagonal çatlakların oluşması ve örgü malzemesi ile harç ara yüzeyinden düşeyde duvar numunesinin ikiye ayrılmasıyla meydana gelmiştir. Lifli harç kullanılarak örülen duvarların kayma gerilmesi, takviyeli harçla örülen duvarların kayma gerilmesine göre daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Örgü malzemesinin kesme gerilmesine katkı sağladığı deney sonuçlarında gözlenmiştir. Duvar numunelerinin düşey yük-yatay şekil değiştirme grafiğinin altına kalan alanların hesaplanması sonucu enerji yutma kapasiteleri hesaplanmıştır. Enerji yutma kapasitesi en fazla olan numune yığma tuğla ve lifli harçla örülen duvar elemanlardır. The strength properties of walls depend on the strength of masonry brick and the strength of the wall as a whole. The factors, such as type of brick, mortar, wall pointing and bond pattern directly effect on mechanical behavior of masonry panels. In this study, 18 masonry samples have been built which all have 900x900 mm geometrical dimensions. In the bricklaying process, Polypropylene-fibre-reinforced mortars have been applied as binding material. Volumetric proportion of the mortar is sand:cement:lime=6:1:1. In the construction of the wall samples, hollow clay brick, solid clay brick and pumice brick (blockbims) were selected as masonry materials. The wall samples have been processed diagonal compression to determinate the shear strength. The horizontal and vertical displacement values have been taken from the specimens. Load-displacement diagram of the built samples, collapse form of the walls, shear strength, modulus of rigidity, energy consumption capacity have been determined. Load-displacement diagrams have been interpreted by analyzing observed behavior of the test specimens and emerged cracks. Collapse failure if the majority of wall samples have occurred on formation of diagonal cracks along the joint and sample was divided into two parts from vertical direction between brick and interface of mortar. Being observed that increase in shear stress of walls, which are built using fibre-reinforced mortar is much more than increase in shear stress of walls, which are built using reinforced mortar. As a result of the experiment it is observed that wall materials contribute to shear stress. Energy absorption capacity has been calculated as a result of calculation about the areas which is below from the vertical load-horizontal displacement diagram. The sample which has the highest energy absorption capacity is wall materials those are built with hollow brick and reinforced mortar. 103

Delikli tuğla dolgu duvarlı betonarme çerçevelerin rij itlik ve dayanımlarının incelenmesi ve fiber esaslı malzemeler kullanılarak arttırılması amacıyla 1 :3 ölçekli model çerçeveler statik tersinir yanal yükler altında deneye tabi tutulmuştur. Dört düşük ve dört yüksek süneklikli dolgu duvarlı/duvarsız numune ikiz tek-kat-tek-açıklıklı çerçeveler halinde, az katlı betonarme binaların alt katlarındaki bir iç açıklığı temsil eden yüklere tabi tutulmuştur. Deneylerde, dolgu duvarlı çerçevelerin yanal dayanım ve rij itliğinin boş çerçevenin eşdeğer özelliklerinden üstün olduğu gösterilmiştir. Fiber esaslı malzemeler kullanılarak yapısal davranış ve dayanımın iyileştirilmesine çalışılmış, örgülü cam fiber yaygılar ve karbon fiber esaslı şeritler yardımıyla dolgu duvarlar kuşatılmış ve çaprazlanmıştır. Bu uygulamalarla yanal yük altodaki dayanım ve rij itliğin önemli ölçüde arttığı görülürken, sistemin toplam deplasman yeteneğinin kısıtladığı da tespit edilmiştir. Malzeme deneyleri sırasında, dolu tuğlalar için geliştirilmiş olan deney metotlarının delikli tuğlaların malzeme dayanımlarının belirlenmesi için yeterli olmadığı görülmüş, çekme dayanımı tahmini için basit bir deney metodu ortaya atılmış ve sonlu eleman modellerinin de beraberinde kullanılmasıyla çekme dayanımı tahmin edilmiştir. Dolgu duvarlı betonarme çerçevelerin nümerik modellenmesi için, iki boyutlu kafes sistemlerin analizinde kullanılan çubuk modellerin doğrusal olmayan davranışına dayanan bir modelleme yaklaşımı ortaya atılmış ve iki farklı detay seviyesinde ele alınarak, deneyler sırasındaki hasarların takibi için detaylı ve ofis uygulamaları için ise basitleştirilmiş geometrideki birer tekniğin deneylerlerle karşılaştırılması yapılmıştır. Doğrusal olmayan malzeme davranışını modelleyen noktasal mafsal elemanları kullanılarak dolgu duvarlı çerçeve modelleri monoton artan yanal yük altında analize tabi tutulmuştur. Detaylı modelin sonuçlarının deney sonuçlarına yakınlığı ve mühendislik modelinin de kalibrasyona elverecek özellikler taşıdığı kaydedilmiştir. Stiffness and strength contribution of hollow clay tile infills to ductile and non- ductile reinforced concrete frames were evaluated using 1 :3 scale specimens tested under quasi-static reversed cyclic seismic loads. Four ductile and four non-ductile framed single- bay-single-story specimens with and without infill panels were tested in tandem specimen configuration simulating the seismic actions on lowest interior spans of typical of low-rise infilled frame structures. During the tests on masonry infill material, the testing procedures originally developed for solid brick masonry were shown unsuitable for the hollow clay tile masonry testing. A new method for tensile strength testing of the hollow clay tile units was proposed and used coupling with finite element models to establish a tile tensile strength estimate. Infilled frames with plain hollow clay tile infill were shown to have failure loads well in excess of the bare frames. Glass fiber woven sheet and carbon fiber reinforced plastic laminates were used to confine and brace the hollow clay tile infill. Addition of glass-fiber overlays and carbon fiber laminates increased the strength of the infilled frames above the conventionally infilled frames. However, the maximum displacement capacity of the new system reduced due to low compressive strength of the tile infill, which confined the failures and deformations to infill corners and column mid- height. A new finite element modeling approach was developed based on the use of plane- framework analysis methods for plane stress analysis. Two different model scales were considered to show the capabilities of the proposed approach and the possibilities of simplification for engineering office use. A standard finite element analysis package with point-wise nonlinear element capability was used to calculate the pushover curve of the tested specimens. The results showed a good agreement with the test results for the detailed model, and the engineering model was regarded amenable for further calibration. 129
