Primary pulmonary artery sarcoma is a rare tumor that mimics pulmonary embolism. Patients may present with cough, dyspnea, chest pain, and weight loss. The diagnosis is challenging. Herein, we report a case of 29-year-old female patient who had presented with dyspnea, fatigue for 2 weeks. Computed tomography pulmonary angiography scan suggests pulmonary embolism. We decided to perform surgical embolectomy. The histopathological results, however demonstrated primary pulmonary artery intimal sarcoma. The patient died 1-month post-surgery because of respiratory and circulatory failure.

Exploring international students' long-distance relationships with their back-home families is important for understanding how to support their stability and growth. Using qualitative interviews and surveys, this research explored perspectives from both international students and their parents about their remote interactions while oceans apart. Findings indicate three transformative shifts that enhanced the quality of student-parent relationships through their distance: a) incidental to intentionally motivated interactions, b) task-oriented to person-centered attention, and c) authoritarian to communally-oriented dispositions. These shifts fostered a greater sense of trust, support, and intimacy between international students and their back-home parents. Interweaving Construal Level Theory with the findings, this study offers implications for informing international students and their parents on developing effective, long-distance relationships.

The chronic receipt of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) inhibitors including angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) have been assumed to be associated with a significant decrease in overall gynecologic cancer risks. This study aimed to investigate the associations of long-term RAAS inhibitors use with gynecologic cancer risks. A large population-based case-control study was conducted from claim databases of Taiwan’s Health and Welfare Data Science Center (2000–2016) and linked with Taiwan Cancer Registry (1979–2016). Each eligible case was matched with four controls using propensity matching score method for age, sex, month, and year of diagnosis. We applied conditional logistic regression with 95% confidence intervals to identify the associations of RAAS inhibitors use with gynecologic cancer risks. The statistical significance threshold was p < 0.05. A total of 97,736 gynecologic cancer cases were identified and matched with 390,944 controls. The adjusted odds ratio for RAAS inhibitors use and overall gynecologic cancer was 0.87 (95% CI: 0.85–0.89). Cervical cancer risk was found to be significantly decreased in the groups aged 20–39 years (aOR: 0.70, 95% CI: 0.58–0.85), 40–64 years (aOR: 0.77, 95% CI: 0.74–0.81), ≥65 years (aOR: 0.87, 95% CI: 0.83–0.91), and overall (aOR: 0.81, 95% CI: 0.79–0.84). Ovarian cancer risk was significantly lower in the groups aged 40–64 years (aOR: 0.76, 95% CI: 0.69–0.82), ≥65 years (aOR: 0.83, 95% CI: 0.75–092), and overall (aOR: 0.79, 95% CI: 0.74–0.84). However, a significantly increased endometrial cancer risk was observed in users aged 20–39 years (aOR: 2.54, 95% CI: 1.79–3.61), 40–64 years (aOR: 1.08, 95% CI: 1.02–1.14), and overall (aOR: 1.06, 95% CI: 1.01–1.11). There were significantly reduced risks of gynecologic cancers with ACEIs users in the groups aged 40–64 years (aOR: 0.88, 95% CI: 0.84–0.91), ≥65 years (aOR: 0.87, 95% CI: 0.83–0.90), and overall (aOR: 0.88, 95% CI: 0.85–0.80), and ARBs users aged 40-64 years (aOR: 0.91, 95% CI: 0.86–0.95). Our case-control study demonstrated that RAAS inhibitors use was associated with a significant decrease in overall gynecologic cancer risks. RAAS inhibitors exposure had lower associations with cervical and ovarian cancer risks, and increased endometrial cancer risk. ACEIs/ARBs use was found to have a preventive effect against gynecologic cancers. Future clinical research is needed to establish causality.

A 38-year-old African American male presented with progressive pain, swelling, numbness, and warmth of the left upper extremity ten days before admission. A chest computerized tomography scan showed a large 8.3 cm × 6.1 cm x 9.9 cm anterior mediastinal mass with compression of the left brachiocephalic vein and superior vena cava. A venous doppler showed multiple occlusive venous thrombi in bilateral upper extremities, including the bilateral internal jugular and subclavian veins, as well as the left subclavian, axillary, cephalic, brachial and median cubital veins.Further laboratory workup came positive for acetylcholine receptor binding antibody suggesting myasthenia gravis, but the patient was asymptomatic for myasthenia gravis. A percutaneous core CT guided biopsy pathology resulted in a predominant T-cell population CD5 positive with few B cells; the immunophenotypic features suggested Type B2 thymoma. To the best of our knowledge, this case is the only reported thymoma presenting with bilateral deep vein thrombosis of the upper extremities. The deep vein thrombosis therapy was enoxaparin 1mg/kg subcutaneously every 12 hours and dexamethasone 4mg intravenously every 4 hours as an anti-inflammatory drug for thymoma related compression of the mediastinum. The patient was referred to a tertiary oncological medical center for a total thymectomy, chemotherapy, and adjuvant radiotherapy.

Improving labor productivity and per capita income are top priorities in Vietnam’s economic policy for the next decade. This study aims to explore the heterogeneous impacts of digital transformation, human capital, and trade openness on income and labor productivity in the Vietnamese economy from 1990 to 2018. The empirical results, obtained through the quantile regression method and Bayesian inference, unequivocally demonstrate that digital transformation and trade openness significantly promote labor productivity and income improvement. Moreover, the increase in human capital unequivocally enhances income and supports the rise in labor productivity. The Granger causality test reveals a uni-directional causality running from digital transformation to income and no causal relationship between digital transformation and labor productivity. Based on these findings, we recommend that the government and businesses should invest in and develop the Internet of Things (IoT), telecommunications, and network security infrastructure. These fundamental elements affect how well and successfully the digital transformation goes. Additionally, raising the caliber of the workforce ought to be taken into account.

Cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT) is a substantial burden and an emerging topic of great interest in Vietnam. The management of CAT is complex, with several challenges, including a high risk of bleeding and thrombosis, treatment burden, and low treatment motivation due to the short life expectancy of patients. Another challenge in CAT management is the low awareness among local physicians regarding CAT. The introduction of direct oral anticoagulants, which offer a better risk–benefit profile compared to conventional anticoagulation, has brought about a revolution in CAT management. To address these challenges, a group of 14 experts, including cardiologists and oncologists, convened in January 2023 to discuss and provide comprehensive information on CAT management in Vietnam, along with recommendations to optimize clinical outcomes. This review will encompass the available evidence in the medical literature and the expert opinions derived from the meeting.

Abstract Background Cardiopulmonary collapse is a catastrophic event in cesarean section, which leads to adverse outcomes for both the mother and the fetus. Pulmonary embolism is one of the rare etiologies of this entity. We herein reported the successful management of acute embolism pulmonary associated with cesarean delivery on a healthy pregnant woman at our tertiary referral hospital. Case presentation A full-term pregnant woman hospitalized for planned cesarean delivery due to placenta previa without cardiorespiratory diseases. She was scheduled uneventfully for a planned cesarean section. After placental delivery, the patient spontaneously fell into cardiopulmonary collapse and her vital signs deteriorated rapidly. The obstetricians promptly completed the cesarean section and performed all procedures to prevent the PPH and preserve the uterus. At the same time, the anesthesiologists continued to carry out advanced heart-lung resuscitation in order to control her vital signs. After surgery, the multidisciplinary team assessed the patient and found a thrombus in her pulmonary circulation. Therefore, the patient was managed with therapeutic anticoagulation. The patient recovered in good clinical condition and was discharged after 2 weeks without any complications. Conclusions The diagnosis of acute pulmonary embolism is extremely difficult due to uncommon occurrence, sudden onset, and non-specific presentation. Awareness of this life-threatening pathology during cesarean delivery should be raised. Interdisciplinary assessment must be essentially established in this life-threatening condition. After the whole conventional management, uterine conservation may be acceptable where applicable. Further data is required to encourage this finding.

In this study, a surface mounted-permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) with outer rotor configuration applied to the fields of industry and electric drive is proposed by an association between the analytical model and finite element technique. Firstly, the methodology involves a detailed development of the analytical calculation to compute crucial parameters for the SPMSM. Next, a finite element technique is proposed to validate the analytical parameters and simulate various aspects such as the magnetic flux density, output torque, cogging torque, torque ripple, back electromotive force, flux linkage and temperature rise. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system uses sensors to collect information and evaluate the structure, aiming for early damage detection. For many reasons, data from sensors can be corrupted, affecting the assessment results. Reconstructing lost or corrupted data helps complete it, improves structural assessments, and ensures structural safety. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged in recent years as a solution to data problems. This study proposes the use of a One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1DCNN) to reconstruct lost vibration data during SHM. A complete dataset was used to train the 1DCNN network. After completing the training, the 1DCNN network received incomplete data to return erroneous data. Background. The presence of acute kidney injury in the setting of acute heart failure (AHF) or acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) is a very common occurrence and was termed cardiorenal syndrome 1 (CRS1). Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) in the blood and urine is one of the earliest biomarkers of acute kidney injury due to ischemia or renal toxicity. This study was aimed to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of plasma NGAL in the diagnosis of CRS1. Methods. There were 139 patients with AHF or ADHF in the department of Cardiovascular Resuscitation and Interventional Cardiology at Ho Chi Minh City 115 People Hospital from September 2018 to March 2019. This was a prospective cohort study. Results. There were 48 cases (rate 34.5%) with CRS1, mean age was 66.12 ± 15.77 and men accounted for 50.4%. There were no significant differences of vital signs at admission, diagnosis, and EF-based heart failure between CRS1 and non-CRS1 groups.
