The composition of fish species in the Ngan Pho River basin, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province, was studied from 2020 to 2022. The study aims to evaluate the diversity of fish species and their situation of exploitation in the area. Our results have found 78 species of fish distributed in 8 sampling points in the basin. Forty-eight fish species have been identified as high economic value, of which 16 species were found to be cultivated. Combined with the results of previous research, we have determined 107 fish species belonging to 72 genera of 20 subfamilies and 29 families belonging to 11 orders in the Ngan Pho River basin. Moreover, 39 species were discovered for the first time distributed here. In addition, some species were not reencountered during the field survey, including marine species migrating for food, such as Echidna polyzona, Ophichthus microcephalus, and Pisodonophis boro. They are possibly impacted by anthropogenic factors such as sand exploitation along the basin and changes in the flow from the Lam River estuary to the La River tributary and then to the Ngan Pho River.

We report a new record of Leptobotia pellegrini Fang, 1936 from the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve, Vietnam, based on 25 specimens collected in the Kien stream (Ca River), Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province. Morphological features of these specimens were confirmed against the description of this species by Fang (1936). Our new data extend the species’ geographic range southward by approximately 650 km from the Gam River (Na Hang, Tuyen Quang province), Vietnam.

A total number of 47 species of amphibians and reptiles were recorded during a recent field survey from Nam Dan district, Nghe An province (Vietnam). Including 13 amphibians species, 10 lizards species, 18 snakes species, and 6 turtles species. Among them, 10 species are rare, recorded in Vietnam Red Data Book (2007) and 5 species in IUCN Red List species (2019). Three species are recorded for the first time from Nghe An province: Ptyas carinata, Naja kaouthia, and Pelodiscus variegatus. Inclusiv: 13 specii de amfibian, 10 specii de șopârlă, 18 specii de şarpe și 6 specii de țestoasă. Printre acestea, există 10 specii rare, pe cale de dispariție, care au fost înscrise în Cartea Roșie din Vietnam (2007) și 5 specii – în lista roșie a UICN (2019). Trei specii sunt înregistrate pentru prima dată din provincia Nghe An: Ptyas carinata, Naja kaouthia și Pelodiscus variegatus.

Analysis and identification of 56 specimens of genus Cyprinus Linnaeus, 1758 collected from Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in the North central part of Vietnam. We have determined four species: Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758; Cyprinus hieni Tu & Tuan, 2003; Cyprinus melanes (Mai, 1978); Cyprinus quidatensis Tu et al., 1999. Analysis and identification of 90 specimens of genus Acentrogobius bleeker, 1874 collected from estuary and coastal of Nghe An province, Vietnam. We have classified five species: Acentrogobius caninus (Valenciennes, 1837); Acentrogobius chlorostigmatoides (Bleeker, 1849); Acentrogobius moloanus (Herre, 1927); Acentrogobius cf. viridipunctatus (Valenciennes, 1837) and Acentrogobius cf. viridipunctatus (Valenciennes, 1837).The species Acentrogobius moloanus (Herre, 1927) and Acentrogobius cf. viridipunctatus (Valenciennes, 1837) was first discovered in the study area and the north center region of Vietnam

We conducted 18 field surveys in 2017 - 2018 at 9 study sites and collected 602 specimens. Over time of analysis, we have classified and identified 183 fish species belonging to 138 genera, 67 families of 22 orders distributed in Southeast Ha Tinh province. Inside 86 species was supplemented in the study area. There are 5 fish species were recorded in the Red Book to be protected; 77 species are level NE; 14 are level species DD; 83 species are level LC; 8 species are level NT; 1 species are level VU in the IUCN Red List of Threaten Species.

This research identified 45 specimens of genus Oxyurichthys Bleeker, 1874 collected from estuary and coastal of Nghe An province in north center region Vietnam. We have classified four species: Oxyurichthys microlepis (Bleeker, 1849); Oxyurichthys ophthalmonema (Bleeker, 1856); Oxyurichthys tentacularis (Valenciennes, 1837); Oxyurichthys visayanus Herre, 1927. The species Oxyurichthys ophthalmonema (Bleeker, 1856) and Oxyurichthys visayanus Herre, 1927 was first discovered in the study area and north center region of Vietnam.

Over time of analysis, we have identified 93 fish species belong to 81 genera, 43 families of 13 orders of valuable fishes, invasive fishes and dangerous fish for human in Gianh river basin in Quang Binh - North Central of Vietnam. Therein there were 5 species in this region being considered in the Red Book to be protected. Have 36 species is level Not Evaluated; 15 species is level Data Deficient; 37 species is level Least Concern; 3 species is level Near Threatened; 1 species is level Vulnerable; 1 species is level Endangered in this region being considered in The rare fish species in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. În această regiune sunt 5 specii care se consideră ca fiind înregistrate în Cartea Roșie a Vietnamului pentru a fi protejate. Tot aici sunt 26 specii încă neevaluate (NE), 15 specii despre care există date insuficiente (DD), 37 specii nepericlitate (LC), 3 specii aproape ameninţate cu dispariţia (NT), 1 specie vulnerabilă, 1 specie pereclitată care în Lista Roşie Internaţională (IUCN) sunt considerate specii rare de peşti. Sunt 84 specii de peşti care au valoare eco­nomică, 4 specii invazive şi 26 specii potenţial periculoase pentru om.

Analysis and identification of 42 specimens of family Terapontidae collected from Gianh estuary and Gianh downstream in Quang Binh province in north center region Vietnam. We have classified four species: Terapon jarbua (Forsskål, 1775); Helotes sexlineatus (Quoy & Gaimard, 1825); Rhyncopelates oxyrhynchus (Temminck and Schlegel, 1842); Pelates quadrilineatus (Bloch, 1790). Species Rhyncopelates oxyrhynchus (Temminck and Schlegel, 1842) was first discovered in Gianh estuary and Gianh downstream in Quang Binh province in north center regionVietnam. We carried out 12 field surveys in 2003 - 2011 at 36 study sites and collected 5699 specimens. Over time of analysis, we have identified 181 fish species belong to 139 genera, 64 families of 16 orders of the ichthyofauna in Gianh River, 5 rare species recorded in the Red Book of Vietnam (2007), 84 species having economic value, 68 species in upstream, 64 species distributed in the middle, 61 species in downstream and 100 species in the estuary.IHTIOFAUNA DIN BAZINUL RÂULUI GIANH, PROVINCIA QUANG BINH, VIETNAMUL CENTRAL DE NORDÎn perioada anilor 2003-2011 au fost efectuate 12 cercetări de teren la 36 de situri şi au fost colectate 5699 de exemplare. În urma analizelor îndelungate am identificat 181 de specii de peşti din cadrul a 139 genuri, 64 de familii cuprinse în 16 ordine ale ihtiofaunei din bazinul râului Gianh. Dintre acestea, 5 specii rare sunt înregistrate în Cartea Roşie a Vietnamului (2007), iar 84 de specii au valoare economică. 68 de specii au fost colectate în amonte, 64 de specii distribuite în cursul mijlociu al râului, 61 de specii în aval şi 100 de specii din estuar.

Schistura kottelati, new species, is described from the Hung Dang Valley (Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park) in central Vietnam. It is distinguished from all other species of Schistura known from Vietnam and adjacent areas in Laos by a unique combination of characters, including features of lateral line and body pigmentation, counts of fin rays, and barbel and body measurements.
