This research was conducted as part of the first phase of a 6-year long project run by INRAE called “Be Creative” (2021-2026). The project’s ambition is to study specific agricultural territories in France in view of designing initiatives with local inhabitants, farmers and other territorial actors for the realization of zero-pesticide agricultural systems. Our territory of study was the Pilat Rhodanien, a geographical zone along the west side of the Rhône river valley, south of Lyon. We investigated viticulture, a prominent and historic production on the plateaus and steep hillsides of this peri-urban landscape. Our goal was to understand the influences on chemical input use in these vineyards through qualitative ethnographic research. This was followed by multi-scalar, thematic analyses using the multi-level perspective on socio-technical transitions, actor network mapping and stakeholder management strategy, which we enriched using a political ecology lens. Our findings center on barriers and opportunities to reduce the use of chemical inputs, notably herbicides and fungicides. The socio-technical lock-ins that we found to be maintaining the use of chemical inputs were multifaceted. We highlight the role of social networks, norms, values, knowledge systems and practices held by the historic, familial and deeply-embedded productions characterized by prestigious geographical indications. We identified actors in these social networks who play diverse roles in the territory related to chemical input use and reduction, their participation and activities being key aspects of agroecological transition processes in the territory. We forecast the next phase of the Be Creative research project, by proposing potential innovations that may further help reduce and/or eliminate pesticide use in the vineyards of the Pilat Rhodanien, many of which rest on multi-actor collaborations. Orientador: Suzi Frankl Sperber Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Artes Resumo: "Alphonsus de Guimaraens: Reconstruções da Memória e Recriações no Corpo" é uma pesquisa que engloba memória e atuação como alimentos para uma escrita que possa adentrar em um campo de sensações que, embora não possa traduzir, pelo menos toque em pontos semelhantes ao da efemeridade da experiência cênica. O texto, portanto, é o resultado da maneira que encontrei de exprimir as recriações - experimentadas no corpo - das memórias pessoais que me conectam ao meu bisavô, o poeta simbolista mineiro Alphonsus de Guimaraens (1870-1921). A tese escrita é um exercício de criação tanto quanto o é a prática em sala de trabalho. Através da poesia cheguei ao homem e, então, à curiosidade de saber quem foi esse homem capaz de poetar, em meio à monotonia de seus longos dias provincianos. No decorrer da pesquisa, percebi que a fantasia seria elemento fundamental para a recriação dessa memória e para a criação de uma dança cheia de imagens, em um devir outro, próprio do trabalho do ator. A apreensão do sentido de singularidade cultivado na trajetória de vinte e seis anos do Lume, dos quais eu tenho acompanhado dezoito de dentro (como membro integrante e em atividades de criação e pesquisa), foi tomada ao "pé da letra" neste trabalho - foi o que o impulsionou e o tem mantido em intensidade. Houve necessidade de um mergulho solitário, porém conectado com a prática de dezoito anos de descobertas coletivas. O que é novo é a constelação de fatores que compõem a especificidade desta pesquisa, mas a experiência vem de anos. A repetição potencializa a diferença e é capaz de gerar novas nuances, sustentadas, construídas e compostas de vários elementos. Desta forma, revisito a metodologia da mímesis corpórea e adentro em uma questão diferencial, a mímesis da palavra como possibilidade de preenchimento de espaços. A palavra em ação pode conter todas as dimensões das conexões de imagens que detona e, ainda, as dimensões do corpo, jogando Alphonsus de Guimaraens: Reconstruções da Memória e Recriações no Corpo com espaço e tempo. A junção dos elementos escolhidos para a pesquisa torna possível a estruturação de metodologias e caminhos de codificação e criação Abstract: "Alphonsus de Guimaraens: Reconstructions of Memory and Recreations within the Body" is a survey that includes memory and performance as sources for a text able to enter in a field of sensations, which it may not be able to translate, but may at least touch some points similar to the ephemeral scenic experience. The text is therefore the result of the way I found to express recreations - experienced in the body - of personal memories that connect me to my great-grandfather, the symbolist poet Alphonsus de Guimaraens (1870-1921). The written thesis is an exercise in creation, as much as the praxis in the staging room. Through poetry I arrived at the man, thus, at the curiosity to know who this man was, able to write poetry amid the monotony of his long provincial days. During the research, I realized that fantasy would be fundamental to recreate that memory and to create a dance full of images, in a different becoming, inherent to the actor's work. The seizure of a sense of uniqueness, cultivated along the trajectory of twenty-six years by Lume, eighteen of which I myself have followed from within (as an active member, creating and researching), was taken at "face value" in this task - which maintained Lume and promoted its intensity. A kind of individual submersion was needed, but connected with the practice of eighteen years of collective discoveries. New is the constellation of factors that make up this specific research, but my experience was built up along many years. Repetition enhances the difference and is able to generate new nuances, sustained, constructed and composed of various elements. Thus, I revisit the methodology of corporeal mimesis and penetrate into a different issue, mimesis of the word as the possibility of filling empty spaces. An active word can contain all the dimensions of the connections of the images it generates, as well as the dimensions of the body, playing with space and time. Esse artigo relata o estado da arte do procedimento de Mímesis Corpórea tal como criado e sistematizado no Lume – Núcleo Interdisciplinar de Pesquisas Teatrais da UNICAMP. Define e conceitua linhas de trabalho desse procedimento em sua pesquisa prática atual: suas articulações com a dança butô e a memória; a mímesis de monumentos; a mímesis da palavra e suas implicações com o conceito de metáforas de trabalho e mapas afetivos descritivos.

Negara Indonesia adalah Negara Kesatuan yang menganut asas desentralisasi dalam penyelelenggaraan pemerintahan, hal ini dari pemberian kesempatan dan keleluasaan kepada daerah untuk menyelenggarakan otonomi daerah yang tertuang dalam Pasal 18 ayat(2) Undang-Undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 1945.Dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2014 tentang Pemerintahan Daerah Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah merupakan lembaga perwakilan rakyat daerah Kabupaten/Kota yang berkedudukan sebagai unsur penyelenggara pemerintahan daerah yang dalam menjalankan tugasnya memiliki 3 (tiga) fungsi utama, yaitu fungsi legislasi atau fungsi pembentukan peratuaran daerah, fungsi anggaran dan fungsi pengawasan. Dengan adanya fungsi legislasi diharapkan DPRD dapat melahirkan peraturan daerah berkelanjutan dan diterima masyarakat.Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah dalam menjalankan fungsi legislasinya melakukan pembahasan rancangan peraturan daerah bersama kepala daerah dan DPRD memiliki hak inisiatif untuk mengajukan rancangan peraturan daerah. DPRD Kota Payakumbuh periode 2014- 2019 sampai tahun kedua keanggotaannya telah menetapkan 27 (dua puluh tujuh) peraturan daerah tetapi hanya mampu melahirkan 3 (tiga) buah Peraturan daerah inisatif DPRD.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian hukum empiris, dengan sumber data utama adalah pengamatan langsung dilapangan, disamping itu didukung juga dengan wawancara bersama responden atau informan. Data yang terkumpul baik data primer maupun data sekunder diolah secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa DPRD Kota Payakumbuh belum maksimal mengunakan hak inisiatifnya dalam pembentukan Peraturan daerah. Dalam menjalankan pelaksanaan fungsi legislasinya DPRD Kota Payakumbuh telah melaksanakannya sesuai dengan peraturan dan perundang-undangan yang berlaku tetapi masih jauh dari harapan dalam mempergunakan hak inisiatifnya dalam pembentukan Peratuaran daerah. Permasalahan kurangnya Perda inisiatif DPRD Kota Payakumbuh disebabkan oleh tingkat pendidikan anggota DPRD yang beragam dan kurangnya kemampuan serta kurangnya pengalaman tentang legal drafing atau tehnik penyusunan peraturan perundang-undangan yang mengharuskan setiap rancangan peraturan memiliki Naskah Akademik yang berguna untuk melakukan penelitian dan pengkajian terhadap suatu masalah yang solusi atas permasalahan tersebut perlu dibentuk peraturan perundang-undangan.

Students in Creative Writing classes involving poetry – and especially those whose first language is not the medium of the class – should be encouraged to engage in translation work. Recent experiments in the writing of South African poetry where more than one language is employed, or where the wealth of the original is apparent in translation, are models which could be profitably examined in this context.

Purpose Brooke is a non-government organisation with working equine welfare programmes across Africa, Asia and Latin America. In 2014, staff from ten country programmes were asked to identify ‘no-win’ situations (subsequently reframed as ‘hard-wins’)—where improving equine welfare is proving difficult, expensive and/or marginal—in order to inform strategic decisions on how to approach, manage and mitigate for such situations. Methods The Delphi-type consultation process had three phases. Round 1 posed five questions in the form of a workshop, survey and semi-structured interviews. Round 2 re-presented key themes and sense-checked initial conclusions. Round 3 reviewed the nature and prevalence of hard-win situations at an international meeting of all participants. Results Reasons given for hard-win situations included: no economic or social benefit from caring for working animals; poor resource availability; lack of empathy for working equids or their owners among wider stakeholders; deep-seated social issues, such as addiction or illegal working; areas with a high animal turnover or migratory human population; lack of community cooperation or cohesion; unsafe areas where welfare interventions cannot be adequately supported. Participants estimated the prevalence of hard-win situations as 40–70% of their work. They suggested some current ways of working that may be contributing to the problem, and opportunities to tackle hard-wins more effectively. Conclusion and animal welfare implications Respondents agreed that if equine welfare improvements are to span generations of animals, interventions cannot rely on relatively simple, technical knowledge-transfer strategies and quick-wins alone. Programmes need to be more flexible and iterative and less risk-averse in their approaches to embedding good equine welfare practices in all relevant actors. Consultation recommendations informed development of Brooke’s new global strategy, a revised organisational structure and redefinition of roles and responsibilities to streamline ways to approach hard-wins in the complex environments and socio-economic contexts in which working equids are found.

Photoacoustic (PA) imaging for biomedical applications has been under development for many years. Based on the many advances over the past decade, a new photoacoustic imaging system has been integrated into a micro-ultrasound platform for co-registered PA?ultrasound (US) imaging. The design and implementation of the new scanner is described and its performance quantified. Beamforming techniques and signal processing are described, in conjunction with in vivo PA images of normal subcutaneous mouse tissue and selected tumor models. In particular, the use of the system to estimate the spatial distribution of oxygen saturation (sO2) in blood and co-registered with B-mode images of the surrounding anatomy are investigated. The system was validated in vivo against a complementary technique for measuring partial pressure of oxygen in blood (pO2). The pO2 estimates were converted to sO2 values based on a standard dissociation curve found in the literature. Preliminary studies of oxygenation effects were performed in a mouse model of breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) in which control mice were compared with mice treated with a targeted antiangiogenic agent over a 3 d period. Treated mice exhibited a >90% decrease in blood volume, an 85% reduction in blood wash-in rate, and a 60% decrease in relative tissue oxygenation.

Visual images have considerable value in freezing rapidly changing speech signals, both for the analysis of disputed speech samples and in the presentation of such material in court. Speech spectrograms are routinely used in speech analysis to examine the speech signal as a whole, prior to a more systematic and directed examination of particular speech characteristics, the forensic significance of which requires forensic phonetic expertise. This paper presents spectrograms based on peripheral human hearing modelling to illustrate their potential usefulness for speech analysis and discusses current developments towards a real-time version of such a system. The main differences between these and spectrograms derived by traditional means are discussed.
