Flat bands in Kagome graphene might host strong electron correlations and frustrated magnetism upon electronic doping. However, the porous nature of Kagome graphene opens a semiconducting gap due to quantum confinement, preventing its fine-tuning by electrostatic gates. Here we induce zero-energy states into a semiconducting Kagome graphene by inserting π-radicals at selected locations. We utilize the on-surface reaction of tribromotrioxoazatriangulene molecules to synthesize carbonyl-functionalized Kagome graphene on Au(111), thereafter modified in situby exposure to atomic hydrogen. Atomic force microscopy and tunneling spectroscopy unveil the stepwise chemical transformation of the carbonyl groups into radicals, which creates local magnetic defects of spin state S= 1/2 and zero-energy states as confirmed by density functional theory. The ability to imprint local magnetic moments opens up prospects to study the interplay between topology, magnetism, and electron correlation in Kagome graphene.

Actionable somatic molecular alterations are found in 15% to 20% of NSCLC in Europe. NSCLC is a tumor observed in patients with germline TP53variants causing Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), but its somatic molecular profile is unknown.

Peritoneal recurrences from colo-rectal cancer can be isolated (PR) or associated with local recurrences (LR). The purpose of this study was to analyze patterns and outcomes of LR and PR.

In a phase 1 study, bintrafusp alfa was found to have an encouraging clinical activity in patients with previously treated advanced NSCLC. This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of bintrafusp alfa with chemotherapy in patients with stage IV NSCLC regardless of the programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression status.

IMPORTANCE: Second-line treatment with chemotherapy plus bevacizumab or cetuximab is a valid option for metastatic colorectal cancer. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the progression-free survival (PFS) rate at 4 months with chemotherapy plus bevacizumab vs cetuximab for patients with progression of metastatic colorectal cancer after bevacizumab plus chemotherapy. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS: A prospective, open-label, multicenter, randomized phase 2 trial was conducted from December 14, 2010, to May 5, 2015. The main eligibility criterion was disease progression after bevacizumab plus fluorouracil with irinotecan or oxaliplatin in patients with wild-type KRAS exon 2 metastatic colorectal cancer. All analyses were performed on the modified intent-to-treat population. INTERVENTIONS: Patients were randomized to arm A (FOLFIRI [fluorouracil and folinic acid combined with irinotecan] or modified FOLFOX6 [fluorouracil and folinic acid combined with oxaliplatin] plus bevacizumab) or arm B (FOLFIRI or modified FOLFOX6 plus cetuximab); the second-line chemotherapy regimen was chosen according to first-line treatment (crossover). MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES: The primary end point was the 4-month PFS rate. Secondary end points included safety, objective response rate, overall survival, and PFS. RESULTS: A total of 132 patients (47 women and 85 men; median age, 63.0 years [range, 33.0-84.0 years]; 74 patients with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of 0, 54 patients with a performance status of 1, and 4 patients with unknown performance status) were included at 25 sites. The 4-month PFS rate was 80.3% (95% CI, 68.0%-88.3%) in arm A and 66.7% (95% CI, 53.6%-76.8%) in arm B. The median PFS was 7.1 months (95% CI, 5.7-8.2 months) in arm A and 5.6 months (95% CI, 4.2-6.5 months) in arm B (hazard ratio, 0.71; 95% CI, 0.50-1.02; P = .06), and the median overall survival was 15.8 months (95% CI, 9.5-22.3 months) in arm A and 10.4 months (95% CI, 7.0-16.2 months) in arm B (hazard ratio, 0.69; 95% CI, 0.46-1.04; P = .08). A central analysis of KRAS (exons 2, 3, and 4), NRAS (exons 2, 3, and 4), and BRAF (V600) was performed for 95 tumor samples. Eighty-one patients had wild-type KRAS and wild-type NRAS tumors. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: The results of the PRODIGE18 (Partenariat de Recherche en Oncologie DIGEstive) study showed a nonsignificant difference but favored continuation of bevacizumab with chemotherapy crossover for patients with wild-type RAS metastatic colorectal cancer that progressed with first-line bevacizumab plus chemotherapy. Le carcinome hépatocellulaire est une des principales causes de mortalité par cancer au monde, notamment en Asie du Sud-Est et en Afrique. La majorité des cas compliquent une maladie hépatique au stade de cirrhose due soit à une infection virale B (Asie du Sud-Est, Afrique sub-Saharienne) ou C (Japon, Europe, États-Unis) soit d’origine alcoolique (Europe). Cependant, avec l’épidémie globale actuelle d’obésité et de diabète de type 2, il apparaît que ces deux pathologies dans le cadre du syndrome métabolique, favorisent l’apparition d’une stéatose hépatique non alcoolique qui risque de dégénérer, souvent avant le stade de cirrhose. Des hypothèses récentes font l’hypothèse d’une nette majoration du nombre de cas, et le nombre de décès par carcinome hépatocellulaire pourrait, aux États-Unis, dépasser celui par cancer du sein ou du côlon. Une prise en compte de cette menace est impérative et la lutte contre le diabète et l’obésité doivent faire partie de l’arsenal contre le cancer primitif du foie au même titre que la lutte contre l’alcoolisme, la vaccination contre le virus B et les traitements et prévention de l’hépatite C.

L’identification du statut RAS(KRASet NRAS) a modifié la prise en charge des cancers colorectaux métastatiques (CCRm). L’impact de la mutation de RASsur l’efficacité des chimiothérapies cytotoxiques n’est à ce jour pas déterminé. Certaines études rétrospectives seraient en faveur d’une plus grande efficacité de l’oxaliplatine dans les CCRm avec mutation de KRAS.

La prise en charge des cancers colorectaux métastatiques non résécables a drastiquement évolué au cours des 20 dernières années. Les nouveaux standards thérapeutiques associent des substances cytotoxiques telles que fluoropyrimidines, irinotécan et oxaliplatine avec des thérapies ciblées comme les anticorps monoclonaux anti-EGFR et les agents anti-angiogéniques. Ces nouvelles options participent à l’allongement de la survie mais entraînent une exposition prolongée à la chimiothérapie et aux toxicités parfois cumulatives des traitements. L’une des préoccupations majeures pour ces patients est celle du meilleur équilibre entre efficacité, toxicité et qualité de vie. Cet article propose une revue des principales études conduites pour évaluer le concept de traitement d’entretien après chimiothérapie d’induction et la place de la pause thérapeutique. Les standards et options disponibles pour réduire la durée d’exposition à la chimiothérapie et ses toxicités y sont répertoriés.

En France, 10-11 % des patients avec un cancer broncho-pulmonaire non à petites cellules (CBNPC) sont diagnostiqués avec une mutation EGFR (EGFRm+). Les traitements standards de première ligne des CBNPC EGFRm+ sont des inhibiteurs de tyrosine kinase (TKI). L’objectif de cette étude était de décrire la prise en charge en vie réelle des patients CBNPC EGFRm+.

This paper presents an integrated environment suited for developing, validating and using dynamical models of power plants. It offers to the user the possibility to build a model using a thermohydraulic blockset, to manage model versions and process data (parameters, simulated or real data) and to tune PID controllers. The different functionalities are described and illustrated by an example. This tool, implemented in Matlab®has been developed by EDF R&D.

The parametric controller is obtained by LPV synthesis applied to the H∞/loop-shaping criterion. Robust stability and performance are firstly checked by means of linear simulations and μ-analysis and secondly verified by using non-linear simulations, in the face of noise disturbances, aerodynamic dispersions and scheduling parameters variations.

L’avélumab est un inhibiteur de PD-L1 indiqué dans le carcinome de Merkel métastatique après échec de la chimiothérapie. Il est actuellement en cours d’évaluation dans de multiples tumeurs. De rares cas de toxicité cutanée sont décrits chez moins de 10 % des patients : rash, xérose et prurit. Nous rapportons le premier cas de pustulose palmoplantaire unilatérale apparue sous avelumab.

Les données en vie réelle apportent des informations complémentaires aux essais cliniques et contribuent à l’amélioration des connaissances scientifiques. Le programme Épidémio-Stratégie Médico-Économique (ESME) de Unicancer a pour objectif de constituer une base de données (BDD) en vie réelle, pour permettre de décrire et comprendre les impacts de l’évolution de la prise en charge (PEC) des CBP. Nous présentons ici une description de la population ESME CBP.

Le programme Épidémio-Stratégie Médico-Économique (ESME) de Unicancer est une cohorte rétrospective nationale qui recueille des données sur le diagnostic, la prise en charge thérapeutique et le suivi de patients (pts) traités pour un cancer bronchopulmonaire (CBP) dans 33 établissements de santé. L’objectif de cette analyse est de décrire les modalités de prise en charge des cancers bronchiques à petites cellules (CBPC) métastatiques en vie réelle.

Le pémétrexed est un analogue de l’acide folique utilisé dans le traitement du mésothéliome pleural malin et du cancer bronchique non à petites cellules depuis 2004. Nous rapportons le cas de 2 patients ayant développé une dermo-hypodermite sclérosante des membres au cours d’un traitement par pémétrexed.
