Abstract

In this article, patent law specialists from seven countries explain the rules governing utility models in their countries and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using this form of right. Australia provides protection for so-called lower level inventions using the innovation patent system. China provides patent protection for inventions with utility model patents, invention patents and design patents.
