The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of treatment with both three-dimensional radiotherapy (3DRT) and weekly 40-mg/m2 cisplatin on postoperative uterine cervical cancer patients with high-risk prognostic factors. We conducted a retrospective multi-institutional chart review of postoperative uterine cervical cancer patients with high-risk prognostic factors who had been treated with both 3DRT and weekly 40-mg/m2 cisplatin from 2007 to 2012. Each participating hospital provided detailed information regarding patient characteristics, treatment outcomes, and treatment complications. The eligible 96 patients were analyzed. The median follow-up period was 61 months. The 3-year relapse-free survival, overall survival (OS), and locoregional relapse-free survival (LRFS) rates were 76%, 90%, and 88%, respectively. In multivariate analysis, the histological finding of either adenocarcinoma or adenosquamous carcinoma was a significant risk factor for both OS and LRFS. The percentage of patients with grade ≥ 3 acute hematologic toxicity, acute lower gastrointestinal toxicity (GIT), and late lower GIT were 45%, 19%, and 17%, respectively. The outcomes of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) using weekly 40-mg/m2 cisplatin are similar to those in the previous studies that used several chemotherapy regimens. However, postoperative CCRT using 3DRT had a high level of late GIT.

A 56-year-old man presented with discomfort in the abdomen and backache. He lost his body weight by 10 Kg in 6 months.A large retroperitoneal mass was found in addition to the right renal mass.It seemed necessary to exclude additional tumor in theretroperitoneum.Abdominal CT with and without contrast enhancement showed Tumors in the right kidney and giant tumors in the retroperitoneum. Percutaneous core needle biopsy of the retroperitoneal tumor and renal tumor was carried out under CT control.Pathological study revealedsarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma in the retroperitoneal mass, but mostly fibrous tissue in the renal mass.Final diagnosis was sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma with retroperitoneal extension. This type of renal cell carcinoma is noted to have very poor prognosis in the literature. Our case was also poor in prognosis, and the patient expired three months after the diagnosis was established.

Objective: To present chest radiographs, CT and pathological fndings of pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma with concurrent sarcoidosis. To review the literatures regarding lung cancer and associated sarcoidosis and/or sclerosing hemangioma.Materials and Methods: A 50 year-old female patient was screened for health at human dock at Preventive Medicine Research Center of our institution, and a rounded nodule, measuring about 15 mm in diameter, was found in the left lower lung feld medially. Non-enhanced CT showed a round nodule at the left cardiac border. The patient was sent to a clinic of our institution.Results: The patient was further studied by contrast enhanced CT (CECT), which showed marked increase of CT value to 91.8 HU from 50.1 HU on non-enhanced CT. It was difcult to di?erentiate a benign lesion from malignant lesion. CECT also showed enlarged hilar and mediastinal lymph nodes. Cytology at the time of bronchoscopy revealed Class 3 at the left B5b bronchus. Partial resection of the lingual was carried out by video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. Biopsy of the left hilar nodes (#10, #11) at the same time revealed sarcoidosis.Conclusion: A rare case of pulmonary screlosing hemangioma and concurrent sarcoidosis was reported with imaging results and pathological proof.

Because nipple discharge is caused by carcinoma as well as benign disease, identification of intraductal abnormalities with ductography is important. Ductography is an invasive mammographic examination in which contrast material is injected directly into the duct. Failure to cannulate or extravasation may occur. Ductography shows evidence of lesions, such as filling defects, duct obstruction, or wall irregularity, but it does not reveal the lesion itself. Furthermore, ductography produces a two-dimensional image, so it does not show the shape of the dilated duct or the precise location of the intraductal lesion in the breast. We applied three-dimensional (3D) heavily T2-weighted imaging with fat suppression of the breast to produce MR ductography. The dilated ducts are seen in 3D as tubular structures with high signal, and intraductal abnormalities are seen as signal defects. Furthermore, MR ductography can show an obstructed duct that cannot be seen on ductography. We also performed 3D breast MRI with the intravenous infusion of contrast material to show the lesion itself. Finally, we fused these 2 volume images into a single 3D fused image that not only shows the existence of intraductal abnormality, but reveals the shape, size, and extent of lesion, allowing us to understand easily the relationship between the ducts with dilation and any intraductal lesions in the breast. We herein introduce and describe this noninvasive method and discuss various factors related to its diagnostic use.
