This article uses excerpts from poetry, memoir and epistolary genres emerging from research that has utilized close writing practices to interpret the interplay among memory, narrative, and agency. Biographical, historical, archival, and interpretive processes are used to reveal deferred, not noticed, and/or not counted experiences of those depicted in the writings. A model of non-subsumptive memory and narrative empathy is applied as a way to consider how close writing can influence the creation of new cultural memorial forms that support experiences of narrative agency. Comments on interpretive processes used and possible impacts of the research are provided throughout the text. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article presents the analysis of Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani's views on the reformulation of Nahwu (Arabic grammar) for non-native speakers. The focus of this analysis included how Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani developed a simplified Nahwu teaching method while retaining essential grammatical rules of the Arabic language. The complexity of Nahwu often poses challenges for Arabic learners without an Arabic background, and understanding Abdul Ghani's approach was expected to provide an effective pedagogical solution. Data sources for this study included direct interviews with Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani, in-depth analysis of his works such as An-Nahwu Al-Kafi, Al-Kafi fi Sharh Matn Al-Ajurumiyyah, and An-Nahwu Bayna Yadayk, as well as a literature review of relevant Nahwu teaching methods. Data were analyzed with interpretive and hermeneutic methods, aiming to identify Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani's unique contributions to the reformulation of Nahwu. The findings showed that while Aiman Amin Abdul Ghani concurred with earlier scholars about the complexity of Nahwu, he proposed a different approach by retaining all grammatical rules but arranging them in a systematic and gradual way to facilitate comprehension for non-native speakers. This article contributes to the development of Nahwu pedagogy and emphasizes the importance of integrating religious values in Arabic grammar reform.

Background: The literature review highlights that a motivated leader plays a key role in motivating employees and fostering a health‐promoting work environment. Despite its importance, there is limited knowledge about the motivational forces, from a caring science perspective, that drive nurse leaders to develop a health‐promoting work environment. Aim: This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the motivational forces driving nurse leaders toward developing a health‐promoting work environment. Method: A qualitative design with a hermeneutic approach inspired by Gadamer was chosen. Data were collected through semistructured interviews with 13 nurse leaders in northern Norway between December 2023 and February 2024. The Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQR) were followed in reporting the results. Findings: The nurse leader's motivational forces in developing a health‐promoting work environment imbued with an ethos of (1) sense of inner responsibility for promoting the wellbeing of others, (2) sense of trusting relationships in the workplace, (3) sense of mastery through learning and development, and (4) sense of recognition from superiors through being seen, supported, and involved. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of raising awareness and articulating nurse leaders' underlying motives and values. Doing so transforms abstract concepts into tangible factors that stakeholders can grasp. In particular, this insight provides valuable guidance to politicians and decision‐makers on how to facilitate improved working conditions for nurse leaders, thereby maintaining and enhancing their motivation. Implications for Nursing Leadership: The findings of this study recommend that superior leaders and policymakers should prioritize involving nurse leaders in decision‐making and promoting their autonomy and room for action. In addition, it suggests facilitating further education and training programs for leaders, as well as maintaining leadership networks where nurse leaders can reflect, exchange experiences, and address challenges. ABSTRACT Aim Design Methods Results Conclusion Implications for the Profession and Patient Care Impact Reporting Method Patient or Public Contribution To explore Registered Nurses' experiences and perceptions of using the National Early Warning Score in the U.K. as part of the recognition and management of acute adult patient deterioration.Hermeneutic Phenomenological design.Sixteen Registered Nurses from a U.K. NHS hospital were interviewed using an interpretative phenomenological approach (2019–2020).Registered Nurses' use of NEWS highlighted 3 risk areas: delegation of vital sign monitoring to unregistered staff leading to uncertainty and delayed escalation, junior nurses' over‐reliance on NEWS and deference to expertise, and senior nurses' self‐management of deteriorating patients. The workplace culture revealed frequent compromises and limited learning opportunities. When using NEWS, failure to recognise associated risks threatens patient safety. Wrong decisions at the three ‘pinch points’ may lead to missed chances in preventing deterioration. Incorrect judgements may lead to unrecognised patient deterioration or inappropriate management leading to preventable adverse events. The way in which NEWS is used by healthcare professionals brings inherent patient safety risks. Addressing education gaps and fostering a supportive culture in nursing, valuing and enhancing nurses' clinical judgement, is crucial for mitigating these risks and ensuring patient safety. The study deepens understanding of nurses' use of NEWS and identifies components affecting the recognition of patient deterioration.Adherence to the EQUATOR guidelines SRQR confirmed.Service user involvement was included within the design of the study and ethical approval. HISTORY of Islam , *OTHER (Philosophy) , *ISLAMIC studies , *CULTURAL studies , *THEOLOGY , *ISLAMIC theology - Abstract
Anyone specialising in Islamic theology at a Western university is aware of the fact that their teaching and research will either be recognised by the institution as falling under the category of "Islamic Studies" or "Divinity". In the first case, Islam is predominantly considered a cultural phenomenon and studied as such. In the second case, for reasons that have to do with what Marianne Moyaert in her latest book Christian Imaginations of the Religious Other has conceptualised as "Christian normativity" and the "religionisation" of other faiths, Islamic theology is de facto understood as Islamic speculative theology (kalām). In both cases, the understanding of how Islam theorises and practices theology is significantly restricted, when not altogether ignored. This article unpacks the genealogy of the secular version of a Christian epistemic framework that dominates the study of Islamic theology in the West and engages with the issues related to its application in the field of Islamic theology. In doing so, it opens a critical space for the investigation of Islamic literary productions as both dissensual and consensual theological terrains, through the analysis of the poetry of two theologians and polymathic scholars from two different periods of Islamic history, namely Ibn al-Fāriḍ (d. 632/1235) and Sidi Muḥammad Ibn al-Ḥabīb (d. 1390/1971). VALUES (Ethics) , *SOCIAL skills , *SOCIAL control , *DISCOURSE analysis , *ETHICISTS , *SOCIAL constructionism - Abstract
Modern epistemology, through phenomenology, and especially constructionism, values the exclusivity of the role of language and narrative in the construction of reality. Oral stories, rich expressions of language, thus serve as vehicles for transmitting fundamental meanings in the construction of culture. However, the predominant approach of many prominent constructionist and phenomenological authors is sociological-functional, as it tends to interpret or justify such constructs as functional to socio-political structures and the reproduction of power structures. This is a common denominator accepted by relevant authors, but, as deconstructionism and postmodernism point out, it lacks empirical rational bases in the listener/reader who believes in the story. To address this issue, an analysis of the literary discourse in " El Yerno," a popular tale from the Manabí culture with a moralist tone, is offered. Its structure, using the tools of structuralist and Jungian socio-anthropology, is not limited to the sociological function of the story but connects with symbolic-mantic material only possible through an aspiration for transcendent connection. It is concluded that the primary function of myth is only secondarily socio-political. We propose that every mythical narrative primarily teaches the believer about the understanding of the universe and its connection to the earth, and thus, the social control function is privileged only in the eyes of the outsider. The role of storytelling in the festivals of San Pedro and San Pablo, as a return to lost spirituality, is also reflected upon. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Cultural and religious illnesses such as spirit possessions are health conditions that are not easily understood by healthcare providers in mental healthcare service institutions. Mental health care providers’ understanding is guided by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-5) that seems to not recognise cultural and religious illnesses as a disorder that needs distinct care. The study explored mental healthcare providers’ understanding of cultural and religious illnesses that could assist spirit-possessed persons to receive proper management and early referrals to traditional health practitioners and faith healers who are expects in cultural and religious illnesses. Methods: Hermeneutic phenomenology explored 12 mental healthcare providers’ understanding of cultural and religious illnesses. In-depth individual interviews were conducted with 12 mental healthcare providers who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected from two mental healthcare institutions in the Gauteng province of South Africa that provide mental healthcare services. Data analysis followed Heidegger’s and Gadamer’s philosophies and Van Manen’s six steps. Results: The findings revealed that mental healthcare providers understood cultural and religious illnesses as mental illness that is unclassified, a calling for a person to become a traditional health practitioner, a demonic spirit and/or witchcraft. The term ‘unclassified disorder’ denotes that there are no specific criteria that could be used to classify an illness. Conclusion: Understanding of cultural and religious illnesses could assist mental healthcare providers that ill-nesses that do not respond to psychiatric treatment can be referred to traditional health practitioners with expert cultural and religious assessment. Contribution: The study could assist MHCPs to acknowledge and take culture and religion into account when providing care to person with cultural and religious illness. Considering the culture and religion of the spir-it-possessed person could be an attempt to move towards a holistic understanding of health needs that highlight the continuous connections between mind, body, and soul.

Abstract. Postmodernism (postmo) is associated with deconstruction, skepticism and philosophical criticism of the concept of universal truth and objective reality. For postmodernist thinkers, reason and logic are merely conceptual constructions and therefore are only valid within the intellectual traditions adopted by their users. These thinkers emphasize the differences in human experience and the plurality of truth, while dogmatic theology claims God and objective reality as the only truth. Based on this, this paper attempted to analyze the influence of postmo on theology in order to build a new paradigm for the development of theology. The method used in this article was literature study. The result of this study indicates that theology must learn from postmodernism. Theology must renew itself so that its arguments can be accepted.

Among the Qurʾanic exegesis streams that have emerged due to social changes and current developments in human civilisation, such as [specific social changes and developments], are the social literary (tafsīr al-adabī al-ijtimāʿī) stream and the hermeneutic. Both streams have their framework, phase, and factor from the time of their emergence and have their position in the method of Qurʾanic exegesis. This study discusses these two streams as a central debate in line with the historical and philosophical correlation of the evolution from classical to modern interpretations from various perspectives and in the context of the Islamic and Western world. This qualitative study used library research and comparative study on the social literary stream and hermeneutic, supported by other related written materials. The study finds that the social literary stream and hermeneutics differ in origin and methodology. The social literary stream is an interpretation that discusses Qurʾanic verses with the aesthetic value of language literature and its correlation with the elements of society. It can solve problems, counter hostility towards Islam, and treat diseases that exist in society with the guidance of the Qurʾan. Hermeneutic is a method of interpreting or expressing meaning in a text, originally referring to the Bible, originated from Greek mythology, which then developed in Christian culture and is now beginning to influence the method of interpreting the Quran. It is unsuitable for interpreting the Qurʾan because it would raise doubts (skepticism and relativism) about the equation of the Qurʾanic text with ordinary texts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

14. In pursuit of credibility: Evaluating the divergence between member-checking and hermeneutic phenomenology.

Vella, Jonathan
- Abstract
Credibility refers to the trustworthiness, genuineness, and plausibility of the research findings and has always been a contentious issue in qualitative research, particularly for those conducting studies on the hermeneutic phenomenology paradigm. The relationship between credibility and high qualitative research is noted by many qualitative scholars. Member checking, also known as participant or respondent validation, is a technique for exploring the credibility of results where data or results are returned to participants to check for accuracy and resonance with their experiences. Although member-checking has long been accepted as the gold standard in quantitative research, research shows that it is not the pinnacle for expressing rigor in Heideggerian hermeneutic phenomenology because it contradicts many of the underpinning philosophies. Within this article the author explores how member checking has been used in published research and presents a brief overview of the various discourses on member checking in qualitative research. The author discusses the importance of evaluating whether the method fits with the theoretical position of a study and the importance to consider how member checking was undertaken and for what purpose. It is essential that researchers are transparent about what they hope to achieve with the method and how their claims about credibility and validity fit with their epistemological stance. The study aimed to explore the role of critical reflection in on-line teaching process, providing perceptions of how critical reflection is beneficial and can be improved. The nature of this research was qualitative and a hermeneutic research design was used. A purposive sampling technique was used and 15 teachers were selected who were teaching online in the private universities of Lahore. The study used semi-structured interviews for the data collection. The instrument was developed after literature review and was validated by three experts and modified according to their guidance and guidelines. The interviews were recorded with the respondent’s permission. Moreover, the researcher collected and interpreted the participant's lived experiences, revealing a gap between the theoretical understanding and practical implementation of critical reflection among teachers. Themes were emerged. The study concluded that teachers need to be more aware of critical reflection and processes, which are crucial to online teaching and learning. The research suggested that critical reflection must be included into teacher training and professional development programs, making them mandatory or compulsory for all teachers, educators, and prospective teachers. In our information age, deciding what sources and voices to trust is a pressing matter. There seems to be a surplus of both trust and distrust in and on platforms, both of which often amount to having your mindset remain the same. Can we move beyond this dichotomy toward new forms of intersubjective dialogue? This book revaluates the hermeneutic tradition for the digital context. Today, hermeneutics has migrated from a range of academic approaches into a plethora of practices in digital culture at large. We propose a ‘scaled reading’ of such practices: a reconfiguration of the hermeneutic circle, using different tools and techniques of reading. We demonstrate our digital-hermeneutic approach through case studies including toxic depression memes, the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial, and r/changemyview. We cover three dimensions of hermeneutic practice: suspicion, trust, and dialogue. This book is essential reading for (under)graduate students in digital humanities and literary studies.

- Abstract
Aim(s) Design and methods Results Conclusion Implications for the profession Impact Reporting method Patient or public contribution To discuss the methodological aspects of participatory design, arguing for a three‐phase approach and the suitability of situating participatory design within a phenomenological–hermeneutical tradition in health science.Methodological discussion based on participatory design theory, epistemology and research studies. The epistemological and methodological discussions show how the core values and key elements of participatory design align with the phenomenological–hermeneutical approach. In addition, examples of participatory design studies are provided to illustrate how it can be conducted in health science.Participatory design is a flexible framework based on genuine participation, defined by three core values: having a say, mutual learning and democratization. The iterative processes allow for adjustments in alignment with the core values and the scientific stance that defines the choice of methods, tools and techniques. A phenomenological–hermeneutic approach in participatory design studies is relevant and aligned with the core values of participatory design. Thus, this paper argues for a close integration between the participatory design methodology and the phenomenological–hermeneutic scientific approach within health science.Participatory design is a powerful methodology with core values that can co‐design sustainable health technologies with potential to impact patient care and the clinical practice of nurses. When combined with qualitative research methods, patients' lived experiences serve as the foundation for improving clinical nursing practice. Discussing the epistemological aspects of participatory design provides nurse researchers with a coherent methodological understanding, essential for the continual development of nursing research. This paper discusses the research methodology of participatory design within health sciences. It aims to address the lack of understanding of the methodology, particularly within a specific scientific stance. The main finding is the elaboration on participatory design and the relevance of a phenomenological–hermeneutical approach. The paper has the potential to impact researchers, master's and PhD students, as well as others engaged in participatory design or other methodologies related to user involvement within health science. No available EQUATOR guidelines were applicable to this methodological paper, as no new data were created or analysed. There was no direct patient or public contribution, as this is a methodological paper. This article endeavors to contribute towards resolving technical challenges by evaluating the best hermeneutic criterion applicable to the immunity provided for in Article 156, Paragraph 2, I, of the Federal Constitution, by which the Constituent stipulated that all the transfer of real estate for the purpose of paying in the share capital of a legal entity is immune to the levy of ITBI (Real Estate Conveyance Tax). The hypothetical-deductive method was used, capable of producing theoretical knowledge with the possibility of practical application of the knowledge acquired, through doctrinal, legislative bases and jurisprudential survey, in which it will be verified, by using an interpretative evaluation aimed at extracting the content of the immunizing norm, that we are dealing with unconditional immunity and, therefore, full effectiveness and direct and immediate enforceability. In contrast, judgments from various Courts of Justice are presented, of which the analysis of the hermeneutic criterion used by their respective interpreters reveals that the search for the norm ended up bringing limitations that were not foreseen or even desired by the Constituent. A critic of European stature, Eugen Simion devoted his life to literature and in particular to the writers of Romania, a country where, to quote Paul Celan, live “men and books”. A task that he accomplished in numerous writings – we list only a few such as Romanian Writers of Today, Critical Fragments – and in the encyclopaedic enterprise of the General Dictionary of Romanian Literature as well as in the creation of the admirable collection Fundamental Works, which is the Romanian equivalent of the Pleiades Library, without forgetting the integral publication of all the manuscripts of Eminescu. This article will discuss how hermeneutic influences the exegesis of the Qur’an initiated by Muslim feminists. Through hermeneutical principles, Muslim feminists develop their own theories and methods in presenting new interpretations of the Qur'an. This research will focus its discussion on one of the well-known Muslim feminists, Amina Wadud. Through a critical study of text analysis, this research will try to answer questions about (1) the necessity of using the hermeneutical method in feminist interpretation, (2) the influence of hermeneutics on Amina Wadud's method of interpretation. This paper will highlight this event using a socio-historical approach and content analysis. In addition, references related to the patterns of Islam integrity and culture will be used with a comparative pattern. The conclusion of this research is that through historical critical analysis tools and text criticism inspired by hermeneutical principles, Amina Wadud succeeded in creating her own interpretation method and developing an interpretation approach that is not gender biased and emphasizes the principal and universal messages contained in the Qur'an.

This article explores the transformation process of Kudus gebyok as a traditional element based on hermeneutic and intertextuality. Kudus gebyok is an Indonesian traditional element that commonly found in domestic or public space which have adapted from time to time. Previous studies about gebyok have discussed about the various aesthetic and meanings of gebyok, but there is limited discussion on the transformation of gebyok from the past to the present. This study employs hermeneutics and an intertextual approach to explore gebyok as the object of study and its transformation process. Further exploration is done to new and older gebyok through observation, documentation, and interviews with house owners, local cultural figures, and local wood carving craftsmen to understand about the socio-cultural background of gebyok and its changes. This study identifies the transformation and transposition of Kudus gebyok that is demonstrated through changes in its form, function, meaning, and placements. Kudus gebyok as a traditional element is imbued with symbolism into objects with different meanings in terms of aesthetics and usage. Such understanding demonstrates the evolution of traditional architecture based on changes in design needs from time to time.

While Ricœur's œuvre is commonly known as hermeneutic philosophy, it is evident that he also deals with major problems dialectically - a discipline often put in opposition to hermeneutics. In this paper, I offer an interpretation of the relationship between dialectic and hermeneutic regarding Ricœur's early theory of the self, which he developed in the 1960s, beginning with the second volume of his Philosophie de la volonté, Finitude et Culpabilité. I argue that hermeneutic and dialectic refer to each other by combining a structural model of reflexive self-consciousness and a mediation of consciousness with a transcendent other. Only their interrelation allows for a sufficient theory of concrete reflexion.

AIM: The present study was conducted to explore the lived-in experiences of post-heart transplant patients. METHODS: This study with a hermeneutic phenomenological approach was conducted on 23 heart transplant recipients in a tertiary hospital, AIIMS, New Delhi, India, from August to December 2020. Participants were selected through total enumerative sampling. Data were collected through semistructured interviews. The data analysis was performed according to Smith's interpretative phenomenological approach. COREQ criteria for reporting qualitative research were used. RESULTS: In this study, reported experiences were divided into eight themes: (i) sickness, (ii) psychological changes, (iii) waiting for the heart, (iv) doubting survival, (v) interconnectedness between recipient and donor, (vi) living with vigilance, (vii) living with a transplanted heart, and (viii) God's significant role. Transplant Day has arrived as a ray of hope in the recipient's life. However, life after a transplant requires strict adherence to the medical regime, programmed follow-up care, dietary restrictions, physical limitations, and family support. Uncertainty and unpredictability about the future were important concepts in this research. CONCLUSION: The study suggests heart transplant (HT) recipients need mental strength and specialized, focused psychosocial intervention besides preoperative and postoperative care during the transplant process. Introduction: Noncommunicable chronic diseases are rising, causing disability and dependence in the ones who suffer from them, as well as the necessity of a caregiver. Chronicity is a concept which has been analyzed from the perspective of the ill, leaving a void in the comprehension of the meaning for the caregiver. Aim: To understand the meaning of chronicity for people with non transmissible chronic diseases and their informal caregivers. Materials and methods: Qualitative phenomenologicalhermeneutic investigation according to the Van Manen proposal, casual sampling orientated by criteria with the participation of 10 sick people and 9 caregivers. The rigor criteria of credibility and confirmability, reliability, and transferability guaranteed the quality of the study. Results: The next topics emerged: to offer and receive care as a love act, family union, facing the hardness, receiving, giving, and looking support, being aware, change of life, learning process, a company for whole life, imposing restrictions, limitations, and loss. Conclusions: The meaning of chronicity for caregivers and sick people is complex, dynamic, and multidimensional which is why it is important to realize interventions that help mitigate the impact in the life of the binomial. - Abstract
Background: Traditional health practitioners (THPs) understand spirit possession as a cultural or religious spirit occupying a person, while the mental healthcare providers understand it as a mental illness. The different understanding is based on manifestations that mimic that of mental illness, such as seeing and hearing things that others cannot see or hear. Spirit possession holds different meanings in different cultures and religions that could be either beneficial or detrimental. Furthermore, spirit possession is understood as a channel of communication between the living and the dead or God or a supernatural phenomenon in which a spirit owns a person. Aim: This study explored and interpreted THPs' understanding of spirit possession in Gauteng province, South Africa. Method: Hermeneutic phenomenology study explored and interpreted the THPs' understanding of spirit possession in Gauteng province. In-depth individual interviews were conducted with 12 THPs who were selected through snowball sampling techniques. Data analysis followed Heidegger's and Gadamer's philosophies and Van Manen's six steps of the analytic approach. Results: The findings revealed that THPs understood spirit possession as spiritual illness, ancestral calling and demonic spirit or witchcraft. Conclusion: Traditional health practitioners' understanding of spirit possession could promote mental health and prevent mental illness by providing support to a spirit-possessed person and referral to mental healthcare services. Contribution: This study contributed that not all manifestations presented by persons with spirit possession are actual and clear-cut mental illness, but could be unwritten cultural and/or religious illnesses that needs cultural and religious services also. Background: Telemedicine has the potential to remove geographic and temporal obstacles to health care access. Whether and how telemedicine can increase health care access for underserved populations remains an open question. To address this issue, we integrated facilitated telemedicine encounters for the management of hepatitis C virus (HCV), a highly prevalent condition among people with opioid use disorder (OUD), into opioid treatment programs (OTPs). In New York State, OTPs are methadone-dispensing centers that provide patient-centered, evidence-based treatment for OUD. We investigated the integration and impact of facilitated telemedicine into OTP workflows in these settings. Objective: This study aims to understand OTP staff experiences with integrating facilitated telemedicine for HCV treatment into OTPs, including best practices and lessons learned. Methods: We conducted semistructured interviews with 45 OTP staff members (13 clinical, 12 administrative, 6 physicians, and 14 support staff members) at least one year after the implementation of facilitated telemedicine for HCV management. We used hermeneutic phenomenological analysis to understand OTP staff experiences. Results: We identified 4 overarching themes illustrating the successful integration of facilitated telemedicine for HCV care into OTPs. First, integration requires an understanding of the challenges, goals, and values of the OTP. As OTP staff learned about new, highly effective HCV therapies, they valued an HCV cure as a "win" for their patients and were excited about the potential to eliminate a highly prevalent infectious disease. Second, the integration of facilitated telemedicine into OTPs fosters social support and reinforces relationships between patients and OTP staff. OTP staff appreciated the ability to have "eyes on" patients during telemedicine encounters to assess body language, a necessary component of OUD management. Third, participants described high levels of interprofessional collaboration as a care team that included the blurring of lines between disciplines working toward a common goal of improving patient care. Study case managers were integrated into OTP workflows and established communication channels to improve patient outcomes. Fourth, administrators endorsed the sustained and future expansion of facilitated telemedicine to address comorbidities. Conclusions: OTP staff were highly enthusiastic about facilitated telemedicine for an underserved population. They described high levels of collaboration and integration comparable to relevant integrative frameworks. When situated within OTPs, facilitated telemedicine is a high-value application of telemedicine that provides support for underserved populations necessary for high-quality health care. These experiences support sustaining and scaling facilitated telemedicine in comparable settings and evaluating its ability to address other comorbidities. This study aims to trace the influence of hermeneutics in the theory of double movement. This theory is a new interpretive methodology initiated by Fazlurrahman in response to modernization. In addition, dissatisfaction with the methodology of classical scholarly exegesis is also the reason for this idea. After tracing this theory, it is found that there are several hermeneutic schools behind this theory. Therefore, in the implementation of the double movement theory, controversial legal products are often produced considering that in hermeneutics there is no definite law. While in Islam there are rules that are definite and cannot change the law. With this critical analysis-style research, it is hoped that we can understand and assess the effectiveness of the double movement theory in the treasures of contemporary interpretation.

READING ,READING comprehension - Abstract
The article addresses the “lowest floors“ of reading skills, in an attempt to formulate assumptions as to the conditions that can be provided by school and family together, so that some reading difficulties may be overcome. In addition to “evidence”: qualitative research of particular aspects of reading as opposed to the overall act of reading, the “lowest floors” are also seen to include the skill level of the reader. Our work takes its bearings from the understanding that “closing gaps” inside the boundless field of various research on reading could be productive for educational practice, as well as that “upper floors”: interpretation skills, influence directly the identity formation of adolescents, such that they will be in their lives as adults. Given parental participation, we would be interested mainly in leverage points ways of compensating reading difficulties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CHRISTIAN biblical hermeneutics , *PENTECOSTALISM , *FUNDAMENTALIST churches - Abstract
The prevailing trend among members of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa (AFM of SA) is to interpret the Bible in a biblicist and literalist way, which conflicts with how early Pentecostals read the Bible. Empirical research completed in 2020 supports the observation. In contrast, early Pentecostals read the Bible with the expectation of meeting God. Their precritical, canonical, and text-centered interpretation focused on the text inductively before they deductively compared it with related texts in a straightforward manner to formulate their teaching. The new generation of Pentecostals applied conservative Evangelical hermeneutics to focus on the world behind the text, using the historical-grammatical method to arrive objectively at the author's intended meaning. It was rooted in the Scottish Common-Sense school of philosophy in a synthesis with the Baconian method. Their new hermeneutic was based on a theory of inspiration that accepted that divine revelation terminated at the end of the first century, resulting in a discrepancy that conflicts with Pentecostals' expectation for extrabiblical revelations, miracles, and wonders to continue. The article aims to suggest an alternative hermeneutical approach that can constructively address the discrepancy, based on the recently developed scholarly hermeneutic that employs post-critical and postmodern approaches such as literary, reader-response, and advocacy hermeneutics. It utilizes quantitative research and a comparative literature study to realize the aim. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of the present research is to study the term of political upbringing as a speech-hermeneutic act in the ideas of Imām Khomeyni and Āyatollāh Khāmene'i within the educational realm emphasizing on the role of teachers. Undoubtedly, speech act is for the purpose of making a change in the realm of act and so different situations and backgrounds are effective on the orientation of words. The research method is based on the theory of speech act and Skinner's hermeneutics (1978) following the theories of John Searle (1962), Wittgenstein (1994), and John Austin (1975) which all have a special emphasis on the intention of the author. The meaning of text in this research is a general overview involving books, dissertations, speeches, symbols, and so on. The present research, on the one hand, can clarify different aspects of political upbringing for students and students-teachers and, on the other hand, assist the officials of the educational system in planning in the country. The results showed that the speech act of Imām Khomeyni in the concept of political upbringing is adopted based on up-to-date conditions, Islamic-religious principles, and also their accompanying terms such as fighting, science along with spirituality, monotheism, faithfulness, religiosity, revolutionary spirit, and independence. Likewise, political education in the words of the supreme leader is associated with some major categories in the second step of the revolution, Islamic modern civilization, Islamic government, believer and revolutionary forces, Jihādi management, culture and politics, science and morality and therefore specifies the path of revolution in this field.

In literary studies, novels carry various ideological values, such as national ideology. Empirical evidence shows that national ideologies can influence and shape regimes nationally and internationally. One of the manifestations of national ideology can be actualized in literary works such as novels and short stories. This research aims to examine the value of nationality in the works of Leila S. Chudori by using the hermeneutic method formulated by Paul Ricoeur. This research is descriptive qualitative research, and the data used are Leila S. Chudori's works, namely 2 novels and 2 short story collections. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques are carried out in three basic stages of hermeneutics formulated by Ricoeur (1975): understanding, discussion, and interpretation. The results show that Leila S. Chudori's works have succeeded in entering the deepest aspects of national values, including psychological, sociological, and historical aspects. The narration in the plot, characters, and themes in Leila S. Chudori's works are able to articulate national values through the characters presented by the author. The narration is related to the memory of Indonesia, love for Indonesia, pride in Indonesia, and Indonesian identity.

The study of religion from a Jungian perspective has been expanding in Brazil. The Jungian hermeneutic method is still little known. Thus, the article is characterized as theoretical, gathering important concepts in Jungian psychology, explaining how the symbolic hermeneutic method works, and discussing new methodological perspectives in Jungian research in dialogue with the contemporary world. The study also deals with the theme of religion, providing key concepts about the sacred. The results/analysis are related to the method of symbolic amplification of the narratives of São João do Guarani, a popular saint of the forest, worshipped in the Chico Mendes extractive reserve in Xapuri, Acre state. Mythical and symbolic metaphors are then applied to the narratives, considering the conceptual issue of archetype and collective unconscious, evoking the primary analogies and images that the tales produce. Phenomenon: The construct of professionalism in undergraduate medical education is a core outcome that is included in the wider concept of professional identity formation. The former is grounded in the more general concept of identity, intended as an internalized set of role expectations. Some have proposed frameworks based on psychological or sociological approaches, but empirical research is still scarce and often limited to the exploration of the role of specific learning activities. The pandemic imposed adaptations that produced an artificial setting for a social experiment, suitable to observe how the deprivation of the social component of a student's life, such as in presence teaching and practical training, unveiled the elements and determinants of the developing identity of medical students. Approach: This research was the extension of a previous phenomenological study about medical students' lived experience of distance learning during the lockdown phase in Italy. We adopted a hermeneutic approach to furtherly deepen the analysis of the phenomenon at stake, in dialogue with the relevant literature. Eight 6th year medical students underwent an in-depth interview, themes were inductively generated and used to identify elements and determinants of the developing identities. Findings: Four themes developed, synthetized in the overarching theme "From crawling to standing on your feet and walking toward an uncertain future". The themes were: "social places and practices that make me feel like a student and a medical student", "toward self-regulation", "an emotional journey", "threats to the identity". The elements of the perceived identity as a medical student were autonomy and learning self-regulation, professional knowledge, competence, and sense of belonging to a community. The determinant factors which influenced the identity as a medical student were living environment, learning spaces and architectures, the social networks, the attendance of the healthcare facilities, the relationship with teachers, the social acknowledgement as a medical student, and as a doctor. Insights: It was possible to identify the generation of both constitutive elements of identity and determinants influencing identity development and this distinction is an added value of the research. According Gilles Deleuze's concept of "empty square" (the sudden lack of an object one used to have at hand: sociality in this case), this research highlighted the ambivalent nature of identity. Individualization and socialization are the "uneven sides" of that same paradoxical object which is identity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study that uses descriptive qualitative method with hermeneutic approach aims to reveal the form, significance, and function of the "vunja" ritual. The result shows that there are eight forms of the ritual, such as molibu, mompelohi, mompanggahe, mompayo ada-ada manusia, mombangu vunja, mompanau ntoniasa, rego, and patompo manu. We discovered that vunja rituals have two significant meanings, verbal and nonverbal symbols. Whereas, we also discovered the significance of the rituals as (1) a sign of respect for the ancestor who bestowed a bountiful harvest, (2) an offering to the ancestor in the hope of future harvests, (3) a forum mutual cooperation of the local community for the swift implementation of the vunja ritual, and (4) a means for the vunja community members to interact with one another.

Reality, Intellection and Truth in Zubiri. Reality, intelligence and truth make up what can well be called a hermeneutic circle, since each one of them, seen as moments, can be understood and explained only and best in terms of the other two. Why is that? Because this circularity goes beyond the hermeneutical: it is metaphysical and noological, insofar as each moment belongs to the others on the basis of the constitution of its own essence: each one is, only with respect to the other two. In order to show this, I will first clarify what reality is; then I will define what knowing is; and finally, I will explain what logos is. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study examines the extent of raters' co-equal engagement and accuracy perceptions in a communal writing assessment (CWA) context, where raters collaborate to reach final scores on student scripts. Results from recorded discussions between experienced CWA raters when they deliberated to reach a final score supplemented with their retrospective reports show that, although some raters were more verbose than their co-raters, they displayed signs of co-equal engagement and reached what they perceived to be the most accurate scores possible for the student scripts. This study supports a hermeneutic approach to examining validity in writing assessment. Keywords: CWA, score accuracy, hermeneutic, co-equal, collaborative assessment, score negotiation.

The most crucial problem in analyzing problematic violence in Islam is when relating it with text religion. Problematic violence will appear more paradoxical and crucial when trying to legitimize al-Qur'an. When violence and terrorism get legitimacy from al-Qur'an, it will lead to a very risky conclusion; namely, Islam supports violence and terrorism. This is where the hermeneutics of Jurgen Habermas tries to review the problem of interpretation of these verses, especially concerning the theory of communication actions which will be used as an analytical knife in this study. The problem formulation is; how to read verse jihad without using instrumental interpretation and more developed paradigm communicative hermeneutics. The result of this research is that Jurgen Habermas's view will presuppose the formation of an intersubjective relationship in social society. The act of communication aims to reach an understanding between individuals. In relation to religious tolerance, the expected communication is a dialogue in reaching agreement on claims of accuracy in the underlying values of each religion on how to build agreement on each religion and that peace is beautiful and violence is terrible. This claim necessitates an interactive dialogue that explores holistic religious values but avoids discussing truth claims considered non-negotiable religious doctrines. When it is applied in the interpretation of the jihad verse, the conclusion that we hope for is the jihad verse cannot abolish the universal value contained in the peace verse.
