Abstract

Introduction. Health transformation in the digital era has brought fundamental changes in health services, including midwifery. About 80% of Midwife Independent Practices in Bandung City still use manual records. The management information system for Midwife Independent Practices, named "Midwifery Manager", is one of the innovations in the health sector. This study aims to analyze the increase in practicality, efficiency, positive impact, and effectiveness of the "Midwifery Manager" Management Information System in improving the quality of midwifery services at the place of practice of independent midwives. Method. The research was quantitative, with a pre-experimental design in the form of a pre-test and post-test design. The target population in this study were all midwives who had independent practice places in the Bandung City Region, which were 300 TPMB. The sampling technique in this study used proportionate random sampling, which amounted to 40 respondents. The data analysis techniques used are normality test, Wilcoxon test, and chi-square test. Result & Analysis. The results showed an increase in practicality, efficiency, positive impact, and effectiveness of the quality of midwifery services after the use of "Midwifery Manager", respectively with a value of p 0.000; p 0.000; p 0.00; and p 0.001 (<0.05) in the independent practice of midwives. Discussion. Using the Management Information System "Midwifery Manager" increases the practicality, efficiency, positive impact, and effectiveness of midwifery service quality, and effectiveness of midwifery service quality in the independent practice of midwives in the Bandung City area.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between obesity and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk by comparing the use of body mass index (BMI) versus other biomarkers in predicting CVD risk among obese individuals. It conducts a systematic literature review following the PRISMA guidelines, searching databases for relevant articles published from 2017-2022. The review analyzes 12 eligible articles and finds that factors beyond just BMI, such as genetics, physical activity, metabolic disorders, previous heart disease history, nutrition, fat distribution, and changes in BMI, can significantly impact the prognosis of heart disease in obese individuals. Importantly, the study shows that measures of fat distribution like waist-to-height ratio, waist circumference, logtransformed body shape index (LBSIZ), and the ratio of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) to subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) are superior to BMI in predicting CVD risk among those with obesity. The key takeaway is that while obesity is strongly linked to CVD risk, BMI alone often fails to predict that risk accurately. Fat distribution measures may be a more effective tool for identifying obesity status and predicting associated CVD risk compared to relying solely on BMI. The findings imply that future research should further explore these alternative biomarkers, and clinical practice may benefit from incorporating them into risk assessment protocols. Abstract

Background/Aims: In Indonesia, cultural beliefs affect holistic healthcare practices. The aim of this study was to identify the effects of cultural beliefs on maternity care and fetal wellbeing. Methods: This study used an ethnographic-qualitative design and was conducted in a community setting in West Java, Indonesia. A total of 16 participants of Sundanese culture were recruited based on information from local health workers and community leaders. Questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and observation sheets were used to collect data on cultural beliefs that impacted pregnant women. Data were analysed using an editing analysis style. Results: The seven themes were: dietary practices and restrictions during pregnancy, hygiene practices, managing sleep and drowsiness, sexual intimacy and interactions, cultural beliefs and religious devotion, family participation and challenges monitoring fetal wellbeing. Conclusions: To ensure quality pregnancy and fetal care, and facilitate provision of basic needs and parental empowerment, healthcare workers must consider women's cultural beliefs. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi etnomatematika pada teknik ayaman tangkin suku dayak yang ada di kalimantan barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Hasil eksplorasi menunjukkan bahwa pada teknik anyaman tangkin terdapat konsep matematika untuk menunjang pembelajaran disekolah yaitu alat-alat dan bahan yang digunakan pada teknik ayaman tangkin dan teknik apa saja yang digunakan pada anyaman tangkin ini yang mengandung unsur-unsur matematika diantaranya pola bilangan, perbandingan, mengukur, menghitung dan mendesaian. Abstract The purpose of this study was to explore the ethnomathematics of the Dayak tribe's Ayaman Tangkin technique in West Kalimantan. The research method used is descriptive method and the type of research used in this research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The results of the exploration show that in the woven Tangkin technique there are mathematical concepts to support learning at school, namely the tools and materials used in the ayaman Tangkin technique and what techniques are used in this woven Tangkin which contains mathematical elements including number patterns, comparisons, measuring, counting and designing.
