1. Estimation of production yield of 93mMo and other residues from a 7Li-induced reaction.

Abstract

The crux of the present work is to analyze the yield of the residues produced in the 7Li-induced reaction on 89Y target in the low energy range. The experimental yields of 93mMo, which is a significant product in the energy range considered, and other coproduced radionuclides, such as 92mNb, 89Zr, 91mY, and 90mY have been measured within 19–40 MeV energy, and are compared with the compound and pre-compound models in the framework of the statistical reaction model code EMPIRE. The maximum measured yield for 93mMo is 374 MBq/C at 31.3 MeV in a 3 mg/cm2 thick 89Y target corresponding to a cross-section of 396.8 ± 38.6 mb from the 89Y(7Li,3n)93mMo reaction. The model estimations well reproduce the experimental yields of 93mMo. The possible production of stable isotopes has also been estimated theoretically from the model over the experimental energy range. The reaction could be an alternative route for the production of no-carrier-added 93mMo radionuclide provided that the radionuclides are chemically separated from the bulk 89Y matrix. Abstract

A systematic study of dynamical aspects associated with heavy-ion-induced 1 6 O + 8 9 Y reaction is carried out at center-of-mass energy E c.m. = 8 9  MeV. The complete fusion (CF) and incomplete fusion (ICF) contributions are estimated by using the dynamical cluster-decay model (DCM). The incomplete fusion component is examined by normalizing the incident beam energy for each of the breakup fragment. The fusion evaporation cross-sections that emerged from CF and ICF channels are duly addressed using the optimized value of neck-length parameter Δ R. Further, the mass yield of compound nuclei (CN) formed in the CF and ICF processes is analyzed with respect to angular momentum ℓ values. The DCM-based calculations indicate the possible contribution of deep inelastic collision (DIC) in the decay of 1 0 5 Ag ∗ at higher ℓ values, and DIC cross-sections are predicted which call for future validation. 3. Yield of residues produced in 6Li reaction on Ta: A comparative analysis for 183Os.

Abstract

The present work reports an analysis of the production yield of residues from the 6Li ＋ 181Ta reaction in a low-energy regime. The experimental yield of 183gOs, 183mOs, 182Os, 183Re, 183Ta, 182m2Ta, and 180Ta have been measured in the 27–43 MeV energy window and compared with equilibrium and pre-equilibrium model calculations under the framework of the nuclear reaction model code, EMPIRE-3.2.2. The maximum yield measured for 183gOs is 80.5 ± 14.9 MBq/C at 40.2 MeV energy in a 2.3 mg/cm 2 thick Ta target corresponding to a cross-section of 360.1 ± 34.4 mb from the 181Ta(6Li,4n)183Os reaction and that for 183Re is 1.36 ± 0.4 MBq/C at 42.75 MeV in a 2.4 mg/cm 2 thick target. The model estimations agree well with the experimental yields of 183gOs and 183Re. The possible production of stable residues has been estimated using the model-predicted cross-section in the studied energy range. A comparison of production yields of 183m,gOs from 6Li- and 7Li-induced reaction on Ta demonstrates the 6Li reaction as a better candidate. Abstract

In this paper, the cross-sections of fusion reactions 16O + 208Pb, 28Si + 208Pb, 40C + + 40Ca, 40Ca + 48Ca, 58Ni + 58Ni, and 16O + 154Sm at bombarding energies above and near the fusion barrier have been investigated. The fusion cross-sections have been studied by means of the Monte Carlo method and effective soft-core nucleon-nucleon interaction. One adjustable parameter was used in these calculations. This parameter can change the strength and repulsive parts of soft-core potential values. It has to be adjusted, so that the analytical results are in acceptable agreement with the experimental data. In our calculations, we have taken the range of the nucleon-nucleon soft-core interaction to be constant and equal to that of the M3Y-Raid potential. Results show that the higher values for the diffusion parameter in the Woods-Saxon potential obtained from a careful analysis of 16O + 208Pb and 28Si + 208Pb reactions are due to the many particle effects on the nucleon-nucleon potential.

Abstract

In this paper the technological aspects of the FAZIA array will be explored. After a productive commissioning phase, FAZIA blocks started to measure and give very useful data to explore the physics of Fermi energy heavy-ion reactions. This was possible thanks to many technical measures and innovations developed in the commissioning phase and tuned during the first experimental campaigns. This paper gives a detailed description of the present status of the FAZIA setup from the electronic and mechanical point of view, trying also to trace a path for new improvements and refinements of the apparatus., 17 pages, 9 figures

Abstract

Proton and α-particle spectra have been measured in low-energy C and O-induced reactions on Nb and Y targets with the primary aim of measuring the excitation energy and angular momentum dependence of nuclear level density. In the γ-multiplicity gated spectra, an unusual feature of a broad structure at high particle energies is observed in all the cases. In the case of proton spectra, the structures have compound nuclear origin and point towards an excitation energy and angular momentum-dependent enhancement which is beyond the conventional level density prescription. The broad structures in the α-spectra cannot be fully explained within the statistical model even with the enhanced level density. In this case, other reaction mechanisms like the transfer of α or Be to the target could also be important. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

First measurement of subthreshold Sigma(1385) production is presented. Experimental data are presented for Al+Al reactions at 1.9A GeV measured with the FOPI detector at SIS/GSI. The Sigma(1385)/Lambda ratio is found to be in good agreement with the transport and statistical model predictions. The results allowfor a better understanding of subthreshold strangeness production and strangeness exchange reaction which is the dominant process for K− production below and close-to threshold.
