With the development of smart distribution technology in the future, electric vehicle users can not only charge reasonably based on peak-valley price, they can also discharge electricity into the power grid to realize their economic benefit when it’s necessary and thus promote peak load shifting. According to the characteristic that future electric vehicles can discharge, this paper studies the interactive characteristics between electric vehicles and smart grid. In this paper, the example shows that the charging and discharging behaviour of EV users will bring significant fluctuation effect to the power grid load, and the reasonable TOU strategy can stimulate EV users to conduct reasonable charging and discharging, so as to smooth the peak and valley difference of some power grid.

Pumped storage power station has multiple functions, such as alleviating the contradiction between peak and valley, to ensure the safe and economic operation of power grid. In the non market stage, pumped storage power stations mainly obey the system operator’s scheduling. In the market stage, pumped storage power stations in China are likely to participate in the competitive power market and provide peak power, frequency regualtion and recovery services. The paper studies the bidding strategies of the pumped storage power stations participating in the power market, and provides decision support for the pumped storage power stations to maximize market returns.

Financial transmission right (FTR) is a kind of financial instrument to avoid congestion cost risk caused by transimission congestion. Based on the development experience of foreign transmission right market, the paper designs the financial transmission right market in line with the operation characteristics of China’s power system, including the design of transmission right product, transaction rules and settlement. Finally, the rationality and operability of the transmission right market design scheme are verified by an example calculation. The paper aims to provide theoretical reference for the construction of transmission right market in China.

The Rescaled Range Analysis method (R/S Analysis method) is applied to analyze the PJM electricity derivatives market through calculating V statistics and Hurst Exponent of three types of products. The study finds that there is no obvious average cycle in the PJM electricity derivatives market. The price fluctuation of various products is not a non-random walk process but has a long-term memory. It shows that the PJM electricity derivatives market is not completely effective. The study also finds that PJM electricity option market is more effective than PJM electricity futures market.

A method of optimizing the design of the sightseeing island micro-gird is described and combined with the actual case, simulation analysis is performed using the HOMOER. The simulation results show that for the sightseeing offshore island with limited natural resources, diesel-renewable-storage mixed micro-grid is more suitable for practical application and is the best choice. In the planning of sightseeing island microgrid, environmental protection requirements and system full standby needs should be taken into account.

With the deepening of the reform on the selling side of electricity, the selling company must strengthen the analysis on the electricity consumption of users and arrange the purchase and sale of electricity scheme scientifically so as to occupy the target selling electricity market and obtain the profit of selling electricity. Based on the big data background, the paper uses the k-means clustering method to divide the load curve of 2,498 residential power users into 5 categories. On the premise of considering the system load, the above five categories are classified into three types: peak load, partial peak load, and stable power users.

The change of user load characteristic is affected by many factors, among which power policy factors have a greater impact on user load characteristic. Based on the Sigmoid function, this paper constructs a response characteristic model of users to time-of-use tariff policy, then analyzes the changes of indicators of load characteristic before and after the implementation of the time-of-use tariff policy based on the summer typical daily load characteristic curve of users in a certain area. The analysis shows that the implementation of the time-of-use tariff policy is conducive to reducing difference between peak and valley, as well as increasing the load rate.
