1. Strain-modulated Valley Polarization and Piezomagnetic Effects in Altermagnetic Cr$_2$S$_2$

Abstract

Altermagnetism exhibits advantages over both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic counterparts by enabling spin splitting within antiferromagnetic materials. Currently, it is established that valley polarization in altermagnetism remains largely insensitive to spin-orbit coupling and spin. Here, using Cr$_2$S$_2$ as a case study, we investigate the mechanism through which an external field modulates valley polarization in altermagnetism. This effect arises from the external field's disruption of diagonal mirror symmetry $M_{xy}$, consequently inducing valley polarization within the material. Strain not only induces valley polarization but also generates an almost uniform magnetic field, which can reach as high as 118.39 T under 5% uniaxial strain. In addition, this symmetry breaking in Cr$_2$S$_2$ monolayers results in significant piezomagnetic properties, merging piezomagnetic and altermagnetic characteristics in two-dimensional materials.

2. Contextual Bandits with Non-Stationary Correlated Rewards for User Association in MmWave Vehicular Networks

Abstract

Millimeter wave (mmWave) communication has emerged as a propelling technology in vehicular communication. Usually, an appropriate decision on user association requires timely channel information between vehicles and base stations (BSs), which is challenging given a fast-fading mmWave vehicular channel. In this paper, relying solely on learning transmission rate, we propose a low-complexity semi-distributed contextual correlated upper confidence bound (SD-CC-UCB) algorithm to establish an up-to-date user association without explicit measurement of channel state information (CSI). Under a contextual multi-arm bandits framework, SD-CC-UCB learns and predicts the transmission rate given the location and velocity of the vehicle, which can adequately capture the intricate channel condition for a prompt decision on user association. Further, SD-CC-UCB efficiently identifies the set of candidate BSs which probably support supreme transmission rate by leveraging the correlated distributions of transmission rates on different locations. To further refine the learning transmission rate over the link to candidate BSs, each vehicle deploys the Thompson Sampling algorithm by taking the interference among vehicles and handover overhead into consideration. Numerical results show that our proposed algorithm achieves the network throughput within 100%-103% of a benchmark algorithm which requires perfect instantaneous CSI, demonstrating the effectiveness of SD-CC-UCB in vehicular communications., Comment: 13 pages, 9 figures

30. Effect of Sequence of Pulmonary Artery and Vein Transection in Thoracoscopic Lobectomy on Efficacy and Safety of Patients with Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: A Systematic Evaluation

Abstract

Objective To systematically evaluate the effect of sequence of pulmonary artery and vein transection in thoracoscopic lobectomy on the efficacy and safety of patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Methods PubMed, EMbase, Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP and CBM databases were searched for the researches on The post-operative efficacy of pulmonary arteriovenous and pulmonary vein resection sequence in thoracoscopic lobectomy for non-small cell lung cancer. The retrieval time is from the database construction to May 2022. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software. Results Eight articles were included, including 3 randomized controlled studies and 5 cohort studies, with a total of 1810 patients. Meta-analysis results showed that: The operative time (MD=13.34, 95%CI(7.36, 19.32), P < 0.0001) and intraoperative blood loss (MD=45.29, 95%CI(40.24, 50.35), P < 0.0001) in the group with priority pulmonary vein resection were significantly higher than those in the group with priority pulmonary vein resection. The difference was statistically significant. However, the benefits of OS (HR=1.34, 95%CI (1.12, 1.60), P=0.001) and DFS (HR=1.44, 95%CI(1.18, 1.76), P=0.0003) in the group of priority pulmonary vein transection were significantly better than those in the group of priority pulmonary artery transection, with statistically significant differences. Conclusion Priority pulmonary vein transection during thoracoscopic lobectomy effectively improved patients' OS and DFS, resulting in higher survival benefit for patients with non-small cell lung cancer, but intraoperative bleeding and operation time are more than those with priority pulmonary artery transection.

Abstract

The membrane electrode assembly (MEA) is promising for practical applications of the electrocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) to multi-carbon (C2+) compounds. Water management is crucial in the MEA electrolyser without catholyte, but few studies have clarified whether the co-feeding water in cathode can enhance C2+ formation. Here, we report our discovery of pivotal roles of a suitable nanocomposite electrocatalyst with abundant Cu2O−Cu0 interfaces in accomplishing water-promoting effect on C2+ formation, achieving a current density of 1.0 A cm−2 and a 19% single-pass C2+ yield at 80% C2+ Faradaic efficiency in MEA. The operando characterizations confirm the co-existence of Cu+ with Cu0 during CO2RR at ampere-level current densities. Our studies reveal that Cu+ works for water activation and aids C‒C coupling by enhancing formations of adsorbed CO and CHO species. This work offers a strategy to boost CO2RR to C2+ compounds in industrial-relevant MEA by combining water management and electrocatalyst design. Water plays a key role in electrocatalytic CO2 reduction, but the role of catalyst in water management is unknown. Here, the authors report the importance of catalyst in determining the function of water and demonstrate that the catalyst containing Cu+ promotes water activation and C2+ formation. Abstract

Immersive narrative creates a vivid experiential environment that allows users to be participants rather than mere observers, holding immense potential in the field of cultural heritage. However, current research primarily focuses on technological applications and integration, lacking in‐depth exploration of the fusion between technology and content as well as limited user engagement. Following a systematic review methodology, this study conducted searches and two rounds of screening in 7 major databases, resulting in the inclusion of 176 studies on immersive narrative in cultural heritage conservation. The study summarizes and extracts the current state, development trajectory, trends, research methods, and key elements in this field, innovatively categorizing them into 6 core levels of research patterns while proposing corresponding optimization strategies. Additionally, this study identifies research gaps and suggests future directions, aiming to facilitate the enhancement of immersive narrative development and deepen user engagement in the cultural heritage field.
