The analysis of the Global NFavigation Satellite System (GNSS) time series provides valuable information for geodesy and geodynamics researcFh. Precise data analysis strategies are crucial for accurately obtaining the linear velocity of GNSS stations, enabling high-precision applications of GNSS time series. This study investigates the impact of different stochastic noise models on velocity estimations derived from GNSS time series, specifically under conditions of environmental loading correction and common mode error (CME) removal. By comparing data from various data centers, we find that post-correction, different analysis strategies exhibit high consistency in their noise characteristics and velocity estimation results. Across various analysis strategies, the optimal noise models were predominantly Power Law with White Noise (PLWN) and Fractional Noise with White Noise (FNWN), with the optimal noise models including COMB/JPL, COMB/SOPAC, and COMB/NGL for approximately 50% of the datasets. Most of the stations (approximately 80%) showed velocity differences below 0.3 mm/year and velocity estimation uncertainties below 0.1 mm/year. Nonetheless, variations in amplitudes and periodic signals persisted due to differences in the processing of raw GNSS observations. For instance, the NGL and JPL datasets, which were processed using GipsyX 2.1 software, showed higher amplitudes of the 5.5-day periodic signal. In September 2011, Zhuonai Lake (ZL) in the northeast of Hoh Xil (HX) on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau (QTP) broke out. The outburst event seriously changed the environmental hydraulics in this region. Due to the insufficient temporal resolution of observations, it is challenging to assess the impact of this event on short-period variations of water volumes in three lakes downstream of ZL. Combining multisource remote sensing data, we constructed long and high-temporal-resolution time series for the lake level, area, and lake water storage (LWS) of Kusai Lake (KL) to characterize the variabilities before and after the outburst. The water level, area, and LWS time series contain 1051 samples from 1990 to 2022, with uncertainties of 0.16 m, 2.5 km2, and 0.016 km3, respectively. The accuracies verified using the Database for Hydrological Time Series of Inland Waters (DAHITI) are 0.26 m, 2.64 km2, and 0.08 km3 for water level, area, and LWS, respectively. We characterized the LWS variations during the past 30 years based on the high temporal resolution LWS time series. Before the outburst, the 1-year and 3.5-year variations dominated the LWS time series, and there was no obvious semi-annual signal. After the outburst, the 3.5-year variation disappeared, and a strong semi-annual oscillation was observed. From 2012 to 2015, the periodic LWS variations in KL were disturbed by the ZL outburst and the subsequent outflow of KL led by the outburst. Regular cyclic signals have been restored since 2016, with an amplified annual fluctuation. By analysis, precipitation, evaporation, and glacier area change are excluded as driving factors of the pattern change in LWS variations of KL. It can be concluded that the altered recharge pattern of KL triggered by the outburst directly resulted in the observed changes in TWS behavior. For the first time, we identified the periodic patterns of LWS variations of KL during the past 30 years and revealed that the ZL outburst event significantly influenced these patterns. This finding contributes to the comprehensive understanding of the effects of the ZL outburst on downstream lake dynamics. Furthermore, the presented procedure for constructing long and high-resolution time series of LWS allows for monitoring and characterizing the short-period variabilities of Tibetan lakes that lack hydrological data. Changes in sea level exhibit nonlinearity, nonstationarity, and multivariable characteristics, making traditional time series forecasting methods less effective in producing satisfactory results. To enhance the accuracy of sea level change predictions, this study introduced an improved variational mode decomposition and ensemble empirical mode decomposition–long short-term memory hybrid model (VMD–EEMD–LSTM). This model decomposes satellite altimetry data from near the Dutch coast using VMD, resulting in components of the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) with various frequencies, along with a residual sequence. EEMD further dissects the residual sequence obtained from VMD into second-order components. These IMFs decomposed by VMD and EEMD are utilized as features in the LSTM model for making predictions, culminating in the final forecasted results. The experimental results, obtained through a comparative analysis of six sets of Dutch coastal sea surface height data, confirm the excellent accuracy of the hybrid model proposed (root mean square error (RMSE) = 47.2 mm, mean absolute error (MAE) = 33.3 mm, coefficient of determination (R2) = 0.9). Compared to the VMD-LSTM model, the average decrease in RMSE was 58.7%, the average reduction in MAE was 60.0%, and the average increase in R2 was 49.9%. In comparison to the EEMD-LSTM model, the average decrease in RMSE was 27.0%, the average decrease in MAE was 28.0%, and the average increase in R2 was 6.5%. The VMD–EEMD–LSTM model exhibited significantly improved predictive performance. An extensive number of farmlands in the Poyang Lake region of China have been submerged due to the impact of flood disasters, resulting in significant agricultural economic losses. Therefore, it is of great importance to conduct the long-term temporal monitoring of flood-induced water body changes using remote sensing technology. However, the scarcity of optical images and the complex, fragmented terrain are pressing issues in the current water body extraction efforts in southern hilly regions, particularly due to difficulties in distinguishing shadows from numerous mountain and water bodies. For this purpose, this study employs Sentinel-1 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data, complemented by water indices and terrain features, to conduct research in the Poyang Lake area. The results indicate that the proposed multi-source data water extraction method based on microwave remote sensing data can quickly and accurately extract a large range of water bodies and realize long-time monitoring, thus proving a new technical means for the accurate extraction of floodwater bodies in the Poyang Lake region. Moreover, the comparison of several methods reveals that CAU-Net, which utilizes multi-band imagery as the input and incorporates a channel attention mechanism, demonstrated the best extraction performance, achieving an impressive overall accuracy of 98.71%. This represents a 0.12% improvement compared to the original U-Net model. Moreover, compared to the thresholding, decision tree, and random forest methods, CAU-Net exhibited a significant enhancement in extracting flood-induced water bodies, making it more suitable for floodwater extraction in the hilly Poyang Lake region. During this flood monitoring period, the water extent in the Poyang Lake area rapidly expanded and subsequently declined gradually. The peak water area reached 4080 km2 at the height of the disaster. GNSS time series prediction plays a significant role in monitoring crustal plate motion, landslide detection, and the maintenance of the global coordinate framework. Long short-term memory (LSTM) is a deep learning model that has been widely applied in the field of high-precision time series prediction and is often combined with Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) to form the VMD-LSTM hybrid model. To further improve the prediction accuracy of the VMD-LSTM model, this paper proposes a dual variational modal decomposition long short-term memory (DVMD-LSTM) model to effectively handle noise in GNSS time series prediction. This model extracts fluctuation features from the residual terms obtained after VMD decomposition to reduce the prediction errors associated with residual terms in the VMD-LSTM model. Daily E, N, and U coordinate data recorded at multiple GNSS stations between 2000 and 2022 were used to validate the performance of the proposed DVMD-LSTM model. The experimental results demonstrate that, compared to the VMD-LSTM model, the DVMD-LSTM model achieves significant improvements in prediction performance across all measurement stations. The average RMSE is reduced by 9.86% and the average MAE is reduced by 9.44%; moreover, the average R2 increased by 17.97%. Furthermore, the average accuracy of the optimal noise model for the predicted results is improved by 36.50%, and the average velocity accuracy of the predicted results is enhanced by 33.02%. Zenith hydrostatic delay (ZHD) is a crucial parameter in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) navigation and positioning and GNSS meteorology. Since the Saastamoinen ZHD model has a larger error in China, it is significant to improve the Saastamoinen ZHD model. This work first estimated the Saastamoinen model using the integrated ZHD as reference values obtained from radiosonde data collected at 73 stations in China from 2012 to 2016. Then, the residuals between the reference values and the Saastamoinen modeled ZHDs were calculated, and the correlations between the residuals and meteorological parameters were explored. The continuous wavelet transform method was used to recognize the annual and semiannual characteristics of the residuals. Because of the nonlinear variation characteristics of residuals, the nonlinear least squares estimation method was introduced to establish an improved ZHD model—China Revised Zenith Hydrostatic Delay (CRZHD)—adapted for China. The accuracy of the CRZHD model was assessed using radiosonde data and International GNSS Service (IGS) data in 2017; the radiosonde data results show that the CRZHD model is superior to the Saastamoinen model with a 69.6% improvement. The three IGS stations with continuous meteorological data present that the BIAS and RMSE are decreased by 2.7 and 1.5 (URUM), 5.9 and 5.3 (BJFS), and 9.6 and 8.8 mm (TCMS), respectively. The performance of the CRZHD model retrieving PWV was discussed using radiosonde data in 2017. It is shown that the CRZHD model retrieving PWV (CRZHD-PWV) outperforms the Saastamoinen model (SAAS-PWV), in which the precision is improved by 44.4%. The BIAS ranged from −1 to 1 mm and RMSE ranged from 0 to 2 mm in CRZHD-PWV account for 89.0% and 95.9%, while SAAS-PWV account for 46.6% and 58.9%. Significance Statement: Zenith hydrostatic delay (ZHD) is one of the most important parameters in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) navigation and positioning and GNSS meteorology, which can be derived from a precise ZHD model due to its stability. This research established an improved ZHD model for China to obtain accurate ZHD, which is a prerequisite for pinpoint precipitable water vapor (PWV) retrieval.
