WC is one of the cladding synthetic materials that effectively improve the surface tribological properties of TC4 alloy, but it is easy to produce residues in the coating, which always plagues the quality and performance of the coating. In this study, TC4+WC titanium wear-resistant coatings with different WC addition ratios (5%, 10% and 15% (mass fraction /%)) were prepared on the surface of TC4 by coaxial powder feeding laser cladding technology, and the macrostructure, microhardness and tribological properties of the coating were analyzed and studied, focusing on the melting and residue mechanism of WC in the molten pool. The results show that the addition of WC does not affect the types of phases formed in the coatings. The precipitated phases mainly include in-situ TiC and matrix phases α-Ti and β-Ti. Among them, TiC and the remaining WC particles in the coating form a coherent package mosaic structure phase. The decomposition of WC in the molten pool is prevented, leading to the remaining WC is prone to residue and agglomeration. The amount of WC added is positively correlated with the microhardness of the coating. As the WC content in the material system gradually increases, the wear resistance of the coating gradually increases, and compared with the TC4 substrate, the wear rate of the coating decreases by about 21.1%, 38.2%, and 56.1%, respectively, but the residual WC leads to local stress concentration in the friction and wear process of the coating, the tribological performance fluctuates significantly.

The understanding and manipulating of photoluminescence blinking is essential in nano‐photonics and related device applications. The formation of mixed‐dimensional semiconductor heterostructures provides an important platform for the generation of blinking phenomena, which can be utilized to realize quantum emission properties of the heterostructures that are beyond the pure single material. Here, one‐dimensional (1D)/two‐dimensional (2D) heterostructures consisting of MoSe2 monolayer and a single CsPbBr3 perovskite nanowire are constructed. By studying the photoluminescence (PL) intensity time trajectory and lifetime, MoSe2 in heterostructure exhibits fluorescent blinking behavior, which has a negative correlation relation with the PL blinking in CsPbBr3 nanowire due to its super‐trap states. The excitation power dependent blinking and PL lifetime measurements of the heterostructure, as well as the low‐temperature PL spectroscopy, are performed to conclude that the bright state of MoSe2 in heterostructure is due to the suppressed interfacial charge transfer. In addition, MoSe2/hBN/PVK heterostructure is prepared and investigated, showing no blinking phenomena due to the dominated energy transfer process. This study not only provides a deeper understanding of interfacial charge transfer process in 1D/2D heterostructure, but also offers guidance for the design of photonic device with extended functionality. Introduction: In osteosarcoma, the most significant indicator of prognosis is the histologic changes related to tumor response to preoperative chemotherapy, such as necrosis. We have developed a method to measure the osteosarcoma treatment effect using whole slide image (WSI) with an open-source digital image analytical software Qupath. Materials and Methods: In Qupath, each osteosarcoma case was treated as a project. All H&E slides from the entire representative slice of osteosarcoma were scanned into WSIs and imported into a project in Qupath. The regions of tumor and tumor necrosis were annotated, and their areas were measured in Qupath. In order to measure the osteosarcoma treatment effect, we needed to calculate the percentage of total necrosis area over total tumor area. We developed a tool that can automatically extract all values of tumor and necrosis areas from a Qupath project into an Excel file, sum these values for necrosis and whole tumor respectively, and calculate necrosis/tumor percentage. Conclusion: Our method that combines WSI with Qupath can provide an objective measurement to facilitate pathologist's assessment of osteosarcoma response to treatment. A small subset of cases of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) occurs as a result of single gene defects, and typically occurs in young or very young pediatric patients, referred to as "monogenic very-early onset IBD (VEO-IBD)". The gene variants leading to monogenic VEO-IBD are often associated with primary immunodeficiency syndromes. A six year-old girl presented to our gastroenterology clinic with LRBA deficiency with a heterozygous mutation at c.1399 A > G, p Met467Val, histopathologic chronic active colitis without granulomas and clinical chronic colitis. Her gastrointestinal symptoms began at age 5 with bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain and weight loss. Whole exome sequencing revealed a CARD11 heterozygous de novo mutation (c.220 + 1G > A). She was in clinical remission on only abatacept. We present a case of monogenic VEO-IBD associated with two heterozygous variants in LRBA1 and CARD11, both considered as key players in the newly proposed "immune TOR-opathies". [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
