Hospitals and healthcare facilities are known to be among the most energyintensive buildings. This concern has resulted in a resurgence of sustainability awareness in the built environment. Nowadays, many have adopted environmental strategies such as natural ventilation. It offers a low-cost alternative to remove stale air and replace fresh air efficiently through cross ventilation. Studies have shown that natural ventilation is one of the most energyefficient solutions to improve thermal comfort and hospitals and healthcare facilities will greatly benefit from this initiative. Passive Design has been valued as a key strategy in controlling airborne infection, especially in hospital wards with limited resources. Comparatively, the installation of ceiling-mounted mechanical fans will create a negative ventilation pressure difference. This paper explores the potential of the passive design method based on the experience of inpatient ward users. The study utilised questionnaires based on the end user's experience in a naturally ventilated inpatient ward area. The survey administration method ensures the 51 respondents’ anonymity is preserved especially in a healthcare setting. This investigation shows that natural ventilation provides a higher ventilation rate and is more energy-efficient than mechanical ventilation. Therefore, natural ventilation is a suitable solution in public buildings such as hospitals' inpatient wards. The outcome of this study will be paramount for designers to meet passive design objectives. Consequently, these will be the guidelines and outline information for hospital design in the future.

Despite increased efforts given to the field of safety management, the number of accidents is continuing to rise in the construction industry. Now with the help of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, incident rates may dramatically decrease. However, there is little or no information available to be utilized by the safety officers and designers in the BIM-based tools for the training and design works respectively in Malaysia. The main aim of this paper is to develop a framework to aid in giving comprehensive safety training to workers and to gather all the necessary information that can be used in BIM-based tools for the selected types of accidents at the design stage. The research will be carried out by using the triangulation method. The findings of the research will guide safety officers in giving comprehensive safety training in a 3D virtual environment.

Over the past few decades, doubts among construction researchers arise about how hospital project success is measured. However, only some general consensus of that matter was agreed upon. Therefore, the aim of this study is to identify the holistic success criteria (SC) of public hospital construction projects. This article describes the criteria, which then conceptually classified the SC into five, which are meeting client requirements; meeting for management of construction goals; meeting for production of construction goals; benefit to the project teams (D&B contractors) developments; and benefiting the community. Every SC describes a set of problem statements as well as dimensions which were based on the following issues: unsatisfactory product quality; prolong of completion period; cost overrun; unsafe site condition; clients’ dissatisfaction; and non-benefit to the community. To realise the objective, questionnaire survey was distributed to the client (Ministry of Health, Malaysia and client’s project manager) and D&B contractors throughout Malaysia. The raw data were analysed using factor analysis (FA) method reduced the variables from 93 items to only 16. Principal components analysis (PCA) procedure considered only the factor loading with a value of 0.500 and above. Each component underwent a process of reliability analysis (RA) with the overall value of Cronbach’s alpha of more than 0.700. Result was found that a set of new measure consisting 16 variables called SC measures were determined. Generally, it covered efficiency of the process and effectiveness of the product. The major limitation of the study was that the key players of the project always changed and most of projects were 95% completed. However, it is important to understand that most of the construction projects are project-basis with temporary organisation. Therefore, extra effort should be emphasised to enhance the quality of the data collected and more research should be done to overcome the issues which still grow concurrent with the development.

The infrastructure project is a great challenge to the key player due it volume and complexity. The problem facing by most of infrastructure project in term of management aspect, such as management conflict and unsatisfied output becomes an obstacle to fulfill the government strategy mainly Malaysia. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is viewed as a strategic tool to tackle that issue but there is a lack of comprehensive view of SCM concept and lack of reliable measure which contribute to improper guideline to the practice of SCM. Due to that this paper aims to identify reliable performance measure of SCM through perception of key player in infrastructure project. The indicator for performance measure of SCM is based on survey that carried out on 116 key players of Malaysian Infrastructure Project. Statistical techniques were used to form, verify and test the reliability of the questionnaire. The conceptual classification of the previous literature review and justification of experts during the pilot study proposed six (6) indicators for measuring performance of supply chain management (SCM). However, in this study five (5) indicators have been identified, namely Information Dissemination, Management, Leadership, Relationship Development, Customer Management and Activities Sequences. Hence this measure could be used to evaluating and control the performance of supply chain and as a guidance for a new initiatives to improve and develop supply chain.
