Background: Limited research has addressed breastfeeding practices and challenges faced by mothers during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in the United Arab Emirates. The recommendation on whether to continue or initiate breastfeeding among mothers with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 was contradictory. This study aimed to explore breastfeeding practices and challenges faced by mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: In this online, cross-sectional study, 249 mothers who delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic were recruited. The questionnaire included sociodemographic and anthropometric questions related to delivery experience and infant health, attitudes toward breastfeeding practices, breastfeeding knowledge, behaviors during COVID-19, and concerns and challenges related to COVID-19. Results: Most participants (90.8%) breastfed their infants, of whom only 28.5% exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months. Among mothers who were infected with COVID-19, approximately 90.7% were not given precautionary instructions by the health-care professionals during breastfeeding, 67.6% had breastfed their infants, 27% were isolated from their infants, and 50% were not able to visit their infants during infection. BackgroundType 2 diabetes (T2D) is a chronic lifelong disease that requires long-term prevention and management strategies in a community setting. A health story is a novel technique that may be used as an effective tool for better prevention and management of T2D.ObjectiveThe main objective of this study is to develop a story to be used as a social health technique based on contemporary scientific knowledge that may be used at a community level for better communication and management of T2D.MethodsA community–academic partnership was formed with a not-for-profit Nutrition Education, Awareness, and Training (NEAT) organization in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. We agreed to develop a story that may be used as a health and nutrition education communication tool for better management of patients with T2D. The following phases were followed during the story creation process: (1) the theory phase, (2) the modeling phase, and (3) the evaluation phase. Raters evaluated the story to determine its literary and scientific quality, comprehensiveness, and T2D specificity.ResultsThe title of the story translated into English is “The Story of Diabetes—The Story of Success.” It is text based and contains 86 pages in the local language, “Pashto,” with an English translation. The story is divided into five chapters and describes the initial diagnosis, fear associated with the disease, issues related to referral to certified practitioners, the importance of a balanced diet, and related lifestyle habits. After story evaluation, the raters suggested its literary and scientific quality, comprehensiveness, and T2D specificity (Pearson correlation scores of >0.8).ConclusionThis unique story was created for T2D and found to be of significant quality in terms of its literary and scientific quality, as well as its comprehensiveness and diabetes specificity. As a result, it may be suggested that it can be used in subsequent studies to improve T2D management among adult patients.

The use of essential oils (EOs) and/or vacuum packaging (VP) with meats could increase product shelf-life. However, no studies investigating the effect of EOs and VP on camel meat background microbiota have been conducted previously. The study aimed to analyze the antimicrobial effect of essential oils (EOs) carvacrol (CA), cinnamaldehyde (CI), and thymol (TH) at 1 or 2% plus vacuum packaging (VP) on the growth of spoilage-causing microorganisms in marinated camel meat chunks during storage at 4 and 10 °C. VP is an effective means to control spoilage in unmarinated camel meat (CM) and marinated camel meat (MCM) compared to aerobic packaging (AP). However, after EO addition to MCM, maximum decreases in spoilage-causing microorganisms were observed under AP on day 7. Increasing the temperature from 4 to 10 °C under AP increased the rate of spoilage-causing bacterial growth in CM and MCM; however, EOs were more effective at 10 °C. At 10 °C the maximum reductions in total mesophilic plate counts, yeast and molds, mesophilic lactic Acid bacteria, Enterobacteriaceae, and Pseudomonas spp. were 1.2, 1.4, 2.1, 3.1, and 4.8 log CFU/g, respectively. Incorporating EOs at 2% in MCM, held aerobically under temperature abuse conditions, delayed spoilage.

Key Clinical Message: In the context of lymphoma, it is of paramount importance to perform subsequent Positron Emission Tomography‐Computed Tomography (PET‐CT) scans to ensure the comprehensive eradication of neoplasms. Primary renal diffuse tumors constitute less than 1% of all renal neoplasms. Among these, diffuse renal large B‐cell lymphoma is an exceedingly rare extranodal lymphoma. A 64‐year‐old male presented to the Department of Urology with complaints of persistent left flank discomfort for a duration of 2 weeks. Additionally, he reported generalized weakness, fatigue, and symptoms indicative of lower urinary tract obstruction, such as discomfort in the left testicle and dysuria. Ultrasound imaging revealed an echogenic structure with thickened, reactive walls and a turbid fluid core, located in the left flank, proximal to the lower pole of the kidney. This structure was subsequently identified as diffuse renal large B‐cell lymphoma. For the diagnosis of large B‐cell lymphomas, it is imperative that a proficient hematopathologist performs a comprehensive examination of the tumor tissue, preferably utilizing an excisional biopsy. The categorization of lymphoma requires specialized tests such as immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and molecular testing. In instances where a renal mass is detected, healthcare professionals should consider performing a biopsy. Key Clinical Message: The importance of urologists and pathologists being knowledgable about primary testicular hemangiomas and other benign adult testicular neoplasms, though rare, is crucial. Ensuring these professionals are well‐versed in these conditions is vital in medicine. Testicular sparing surgery, especially when tumor markers are negative, is a common approach for patients with small or uncertain testicular masses. The cause of the uncommon benign testicular tumor known as testicular capillary hemangioma is currently unclear. Children are shown to have a greater incidence than adults. Histopathological examination reveals a vascular tumor with a well‐formed capillary lumina. The lesions are bordered by flattened endothelium and have lobulated clusters of closely spaced capillaries with an abundance of vascular gaps. These capillaries have anaplastic characteristics and lack mitotic activity. The patient, who was 24‐year‐old, came to the urology department complaining of severe testicular pain. He had no significant medical history. Clinical examination found a mass at the upper pole of the testicle. An ultrasonography Doppler study found a left varicocele that measured 3.5 mm in diameter, as well as a mass at the upper part of the left testicle. Pathologic examination confirmed the presence of a benign hemangioma with. Although rare, it is important for urologists and pathologists to be aware of primary testicular hemangiomas and other benign adult testicular neoplasms. Introduction: Subvalvular aortic stenosis (SAS) is a rare heart condition that can cause LVOT obstruction and lead to serious complications. While surgery is the main treatment, recurrence is a concern. This case series highlights the challenges in managing SAS in young patients., Case Series: Three young brothers presented with symptoms of shortness of breath and chest tightness. All were diagnosed with membranous SAS through echocardiography and Doppler ultrasound. Surgical intervention was performed to remove the obstruction, but all three patients experienced recurrence within 2 years., Discussion: This case series of three brothers suggests a genetic predisposition. Symptoms included exertional dyspnea and chest tightness, diagnosed via echocardiography. Surgical intervention is the primary treatment, but its timing is debated due to recurrence risks and complications., Conclusions: This case series suggests a possible genetic predisposition to SAS. Despite successful initial surgery, the high recurrence rate highlights the need for improved management strategies and long-term follow-up.
