In the institutional context of secondary school teacher training in France, we have developed a study and research activity (A.E.R) which aims at creating links between the integral of the Lycée (upper secondary) and the theories of Riemann and Lebesgue taught at the University. In other words, it is an answer to the question of the implementation of Klein's plan B, in the case of the integral, as a strategy to overcome the second Klein discontinuity. The methodology is based on the exploitation of a praxeological model of reference for the different objects of knowledge., Résumé Dans le contexte institutionnel de la formation des enseignants du secondaire en France, nous avons élaboré une activité d'étude et de recherche (A.E.R) qui vise à créer des liens entre l'intégrale du Lycée et les théories de Riemann et de Lebesgue enseignées à l'Université. En d'autres termes, il s'agit d'une réponse à la question de l'implémentation du plan B de Klein, dans le cas de l'intégrale, comme stratégie pour pallier à la seconde discontinuité de Klein. La méthodologie se fonde sur l'exploitation d'un modèle praxéologique de référence pour les différents objets de savoir.

International audience; The aim of the book is to provide a deep synthesis of the research field "didactics of mathematics at all levels of tertiary education", as it appears through two INDRUM conferences organised in 2016 and 2018. Chapter 8 deals with Abstract and Linear Algebra. Our goal is to account for “burning issues” within University Mathematics Education research on these mathematical domains, with its related methodological challenges, and to point out current and new avenues for research. We also aim at cross-analysing results and methodologies, thus answering the question: in which respect do these studies complement each other or contrast from each other? What are the main results, open questions, debates among researchers, elements of convergence/divergence within these studies? We thus decided to organize our synthesis according to three groups of papers (merely according to the topic), and for each group of papers to present a cross-analysis of these papers according to main themes that crystallise those burning issues (in terms of epistemological content, methodological issues, results, in fact the main objects of research that seemed to us appropriate for a vivid, illuminating and contrasted account of our data). We end this chapter by summarising what appeared to us as major advances in research on Abstract and Linear Algebra teaching and learning through the work of the INDRUM network as well as the further avenues for research that have been brought to light.

Studien der letzten Jahre zeigen, dass es sowohl schwule Männer gibt, die einen Kinderwunsch hegen, als auch solche, die über dessen Umsetzung nachdenken und auch solche, die schon bereit waren, sich ihren Kinderwunsch zu erfüllen. Diese Arbeit reagiert darauf, dass ihnen dafür zwar mehrere Möglichkeiten, aber kaum Orientierungshilfen für konkrete Entscheidungssituationen zur Verfügung stehen.Zahlreiche Fragestellungen finden nur langsam Einzug in ethische Reflexionen: Haben schwule Männer einen Kinderwunsch, möchten sie sich diesen erfüllen, sind sie also bereit, das Lebenskonzept Familie mit Kind(ern) für sich in Anspruch zu nehmen? Welche Kinderwunscherfüllungsmöglichkeiten kommen für schwule Männer in Österreich in Frage? Sind der Kinderwunsch schwuler Männer und dessen Umsetzung grundsätzlich legitimierbar? Welche Kinderwunscherfüllungsmöglichkeiten schwuler Männer sind aus ethischer Perspektive in österreichischen Kontexten am ehesten legitimierbar?Die vorliegende Arbeit widmet sich diesen Fragestellungen. Sie skizziert die aktuelle Situation hinsichtlich individueller, gesellschaftspolitischer, juristischer, ökonomischer und wissenschaftlicher Parameter und zeigt diverse Kinderwunscherfüllungsmöglichkeiten, ihre biologischen und juristischen Grenzen sowie einhergehende Vor- und Nachteile auf. Darauf aufbauend erfolgt die ethische Betrachtung entlang eines idealtypischen Entscheidungsprozesses: Ein eudämonistisch-tugendethischer Ansatz ermöglicht eine grundlegende Legitimierung des Kinderwunsches schwuler Männer und dessen Umsetzung durch den Nachweis der Möglichkeit eines gelungenen Lebens mit Kind(ern). Diese wird durch Überlegungen zu möglichen Grenzen in Bezug auf Kontingenz und gesellschaftliche Einwände ergänzt. Anhand deontologischer und konsequentialistisch-utilitaristischer Gesichtspunkte werden dann auf ethischen Rechtfertigungen basierende Entscheidungshilfen hinsichtlich einzelner Kinderwunscherfüllungsmöglichkeiten geboten. As recent studies show, there are gay men who have a desire to have children, with some actively working towards a fulfillment of this desire and some having already made their dream a reality. This paper points out that while there are some options for those gay men, very little guidance is provided for the actual decision-making processes.Only recently have numerous questions concerning this topic been addressed in ethic discussions and observations: Do gay men have a desire to have children in general? Do they feel inclined to act on this desire? Are they ready to adopt the lifestyle of a family with children for themselves? Which options are there for gay men to become parents in Austria? Are those options justifiable in general, and in Austrian contexts specifically? From an ethical perspective, which options for gay men to fulfil their wish to have children are most likely to be justifiable and legitimized in Austria?This paper is concerned with these questions. It outlines the current situation in consideration of individual, social, political, legal, economic, and scientific parameters. It also highlights various options to fulfil the desire to have children, their biological and legal limits as well as pros and cons connected to them. Subsequent follows an ethical reflexion of the ideal decision-making process: An approach that is eudemonistic and connected to virtue ethics makes the general legitimization of gay mens desire to have children as well as acting on the desire possible through the proof of successful life with children. This approach will be complemented with thoughts on possible limitations regarding contingency and social objections. With a deontological angle and the viewpoint of utilitarian ethics, this paper will try to act as guidance for gay men concerning ethical justification of various options to fulfil the desire to have children. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Färberpflanzen und ihren Farbstoffen in der Lebensmittelverarbeitung.Es werden unterschiedliche Aspekte von Färberpflanzen aufgezeigt und ihre Bedeutung für die Lebensmittelfärbung im Laufe vieler Jahrhunderte und besonders heute dargestellt. Der Fokus wird auf die Anwendbarkeit in privaten und schulischen Kontexten gelegt. Einer praktischen Erprobung anhand eines Versuchs geht eine umfangreiche Beschäftigung mit historischen, kulturellen und vor allem botanischen (anatomischen, morphologischen und physiologischen) sowie grundlegenden chemischen und gesundheitlichen Aspekten voraus. Im Sinne eines nachhaltigen Umgangs mit natürlichen Ressourcen werden heimische Arten von Färberpflanzen portraitiert und eine Anleitung zum Vorgehen beim Auswählen, Sammeln und Verarbeiten gegeben.Um den Konnex zu größeren Kontexten herzustellen wird auch der Blick auf die industrielle Lebensmittelverarbeitung getan. Dabei wird aufgezeigt, dass pflanzliche Farbstoffe auch im großen Stil eine Alternative zu synthetischen sein können und durchaus schon sind. Dazu wird auch auf in der EU für die industrielle Lebensmittelverarbeitung zugelassene pflanzliche Farbstoffe eingegangen.Als Nachweis für die Anwendbarkeit im privaten und schulischen Bereich finden sich in der Arbeit eine Versuchsanleitung und wesentliche Ergebnisse, die aus der Durchführung des Versuchs hervorgegangen sind. Es wurde eine Anleitung erstellt, die es ermöglicht mit einer minimalen Ausstattung an Küchenutensilien und bei möglichst geringem zeitlichen Aufwand, einen Versuch durchzuführen, der in der Schule gut realisierbar ist. Dafür wurde unter anderem an mögliche unterschiedliche Ernährungsformen von Schülern*innen, gesundheitliche Unbedenklichkeit, die Verortung im Lehrplan und Möglichkeiten zur Erweiterung des Versuchs gedacht. So entstand die Anleitung zu einer rein pflanzenbasierten Herstellung farbiger Fruchtgummis. The thesis at hand presents dyeing plants and their pigments in the subject area of food processing.Different aspects of dyeing plants as well as their significance within the field of dyeing food over time are presented in the thesis at hand. The main focus lies on using these plants in private and educational school contexts. After a historical, cultural, and botanical (anatomical, morphological, and physiological), as well as basic chemical background, a practical experiment shall be presented. With regard to sustainability and the issue of scarce resources, local dyeing plants are described. In addition, there will be a description of how to properly choose, collect and process these plants.In order to connect this thesis to wider contexts, there are also references to industrial food dyeing. The aim of this is to showcase that plant pigments could be and are sometimes used as alternatives to synthetic dyes. There will also be an introduction to the plant dyes which may be used for industrial food dyeing in the European Union.Furthermore, instructions and results from the conduction of the experiment are presented in this thesis in order to show the applicability of dyeing plants in private and educational school contexts. The main focus of creating these instructions lay in its practicability. This resulted in an experiment which it is feasible with little kitchen equipment in a short period of time which is essential for conducting experiments at school. When creating these instructions, different aspects, such as different forms of nutrition of students, health safety, links to the teaching curriculum, and the possibility of extending this experiment were taken into consideration. These aspects led to the creation of instructions for producing the plant-based dyed fruit gum which is presented in the paper at hand. International audience; Undergraduate mathematics programmes in Europe are typically delivered in hierarchical structures of modules whose contents are in general assumed to be quite similar across universities. These programmes and the mechanisms through which they are maintained, revised and developed, have so far not been the subject of systematic research, as most research (including intervention-based research) takes the programme for granted. This paper furnishes a theoretical and methodological framework for undertaking didactic research in this area and provides some results from a first study in four universities in Denmark, France, Germany, and Spain.

International audience; Souvent évoqué dans l’enseignement de philosophie en classe de Terminale, l’exemple des géométries non-euclidiennes (GNE) est rarement étudié de façon poussée. Dans cet article, nous présentons une activité en classe proposant une exploitation approfondie des GNE selon des angles à la fois mathématique et philosophique, et discutons les résultats de son expérimentation en classe. Notre étude permet de pointer certaines difficultés des élèves face à la complexité des GNE. One of the things that teachers at the university level have to learn by experience is how to adapt their lectures and classroom activities depending on their intended audience. For instance, it is understood that teaching mathematics to mathematicians is different than teaching them to pre-service elementary school teachers. However, how to carry out this adaptation or what exactly should be changed is not often discussed. On the basis of my personal experience in the matter, here we use the Atherton model to reflect about my own practice and try to extract some conclusions about the difficulties of the above-mentioned adaptation.

National audience; A partir d'une modélisation du déroulement d'une démarche d'investigation et de l'identification des principales catégories épistémologiques mobilisées dans chaque discipline scientifique (mathématiques, physique et SVT), l'équipe IREM " Enseignement Scientifique " de Montpellier a conçu une activité destinée à amener les élèves à expliciter par eux-mêmes la nature des démarches qu'ils mettent en œuvre en cours de sciences. Cette expérimentation nous permet d'une part de renseigner les conceptions relatives aux démarches d'investigation. D'autre part, nous montrons que l'activité de métacognition, encore peu fréquente en contexte scolaire, rencontre une bonne adhésion de la part des élèves. Enfin, ce travail permet aux enseignants de développer un regard réflexif sur leur propre discipline en confrontation avec les champs scientifiques voisins, favorisant ainsi le dialogue entre disciplines scolaires.

International audience; This work fits into the development project of a "didactic of structuralism", bearing on epistemology, motivated by significant difficulties acknowledged in the learning of algebraic structures at University. We introduce the concept of structuralist praxeologies and show its relevance when describing the mathematics organizations of the arithmetic of abstract rings. We study the development of these praxeologies, firstly within a heterogeneous group on a forum online about a question on decimal numbers, then in the classroom as part of an activity using a transcript of the forum. The analysis of didactical phenomena mobilizes recent advances in the Anthropological Theory of Didactics and motivates new developments to which this work provides contributions in the context still little-explored of higher education.; Le travail présenté ici s'inscrit dans le projet de développement d'une « didactique du structuralisme », en appui sur l'épistémologie, projet suscitépar le constat d'importantes difficultés au niveau de l'apprentissage des structures algébriques à l'université. Nous introduisons le concept depraxéologie structuraliste et montrons sa pertinence dans la description des organisations mathématiques de l’arithmétique des anneaux abstraits. Nous étudions le développement de ces praxéologies, d'une part au sein d'un collectif hétérogène sur un forum en ligne à propos d'une question portant sur les nombres décimaux, d'autre part en classe dans le cadre d'une activité utilisant la retranscription des échanges de ce forum. L'analyse des phénomènes didactiques mobilise les avancées récentes de la Théorie Anthropologique du Didactique et motive de nouveaux développementsauxquels ce travail apporte des contributions, dans le contexte encore peu étudié de l'enseignement supérieur.

CD-Rom; International audience; This paper illustrates the analysis of the collective dimension of the mathematical activity carried out in a didactic setting. Using as main tool the Herbartian schema enriched with some of the study dialectics (Chevallard 2008, 2009, 2011), our analyses focus on two empirical cases, both taken from online didactic processes: a study and research paths for teacher education carried out in an online and at distance modality, and a mathematical open forum were spontaneous and outside school didactic processes take place.

221 pages; International audience; Cette brochure recueille les différents travaux réalisés de 2004 à 2010 au sein de l'IREM de Montpellier en relation avec les différents dispositifs pluridisciplinaires (notamment l'option sciences et l'option démarches et culture scientifiques) mis en place successivement en classe de seconde afin de "former à la démarche scientifique" et de "donner aux élèves le goût des sciences". Parmi les principaux apports de ce document sont à noter une analyse épistémologique assez détaillée des démarches scientifiques ainsi qu'une réflexion sur la transposition didactique dans les pratiques de classe des concepts épistémologiques dégagés. Ce matériel contribue ainsi à la formation des enseignants sur la démarche d'investigation. Enfin, la brochure inclut trois ressources très documentées destinées à travailler les démarches scientifiques en classe, dans chaque discipline scientifique (mathématiques, sciences physiques et chimiques, sciences de la vie et de la terre), tout en introduisant une perspective historique et épistémologique à même d'éclairer ces démarches.

International audience; L'objectif de cet article est une première étude didactique des difficultés d'apprentissage des concepts de l'algèbre moderne en licence de mathématiques. Cette étude s'inscrit dans le cadre d'un travail plus large visant à développer une didactique du structuralisme en appuie sur son épistémologie. Les données empiriques analysées dans l'article proviennent d'un questionnaire, proposé à des étudiants de troisième année de licence à l'Université Montpellier 2, destiné à tester l'acquisition des notions préalablement identifiées comme prérequis à l'apprentissage de la théorie des groupes. Dans un premier temps, nous développerons les aspects épistémologique et cognitifs, d'une part, et les apports de la sémantique logique, d'autre part. Nous présenterons ensuite les analyses a priori et a posteriori du questionnaire soumis aux étudiants, puis nous reviendrons sur notre questionnement et dégagerons des premiers éléments de réponses relativement à la problématique de l'enseignement et de l'apprentissage de l'algèbre moderne. Nous terminerons par une conclusion générale et quelques perspectives ouvertes par ce travail. Mots-clés. National audience; Les bulletins officiels de l’Éducation nationale mettent l’accent sur la formation des esprits afin qu’ils deviennent capables de transformer une multiplicité d’informations scientifiques en une connaissance. Ils soulignent aussi la visée de développer la pensée critique, la curiosité et l’esprit d'initiative des élèves. Dans ce cadre, la mise en place de débats en classe autour de questions scientifiques socialement vives (QSSV) paraît particulièrement pertinente. Les QSSV sont des sujets de controverses dans le monde de la recherche scientifique et dans la société et ont potentiellement des implications dans de nombreux domaines (biologie, physique, chimie, agronomie, sociologie, éthique, politique, juridique, économique et environnemental). Ces QSSV mettent donc très souvent en jeu plusieurs disciplines, ce qui demande la mise en œuvre d’une méthodologie pluridisciplinaire. Notre travail, mené par une équipe pluridisciplinaire de trois professeurs de lycée et de quatre universitaires du groupe « sciences » de l’Institut de Recherche en Enseignement des Mathématiques de Montpellier, donne un exemple de traitement de QSSV en classe de terminale scientifique et en examine les potentialités vis-à-vis des buts pédagogiques recherchés. Nous avons constaté que cette expérimentation pédagogique semble avoir permis aux élèves de développer une réflexion critique sur les données expérimentales et sur la place de l’expertise dans les choix de société. Ces débats ont été pour eux l’occasion de développer une argumentation en prenant en compte la diversité des opinions face aux contenus scientifiques. Ce mode d’enseignement permet donc de répondre, d’une part à une demande sociale de formation des élèves à l’exercice de la citoyenneté scientifique. D’autre part, ce type de question, à travers la confrontation d’une diversité de points de vue permet de contribuer à une éducation à la responsabilité.
