Introduction: Medical aesthetic practice is growing rapidly in Malaysia due to rising market demand, yet public understanding of these practices remains limited. This study evaluated the awareness and attitudes towards medical aesthetics among Malaysians. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among individuals aged 18 years old in Malaysia from December 2021 to May 2022. The survey was distributed both online and in public settings. The survey comprised of respondents' sociodemographic, perception of physical attractiveness, knowledge and attitude towards medical aesthetic practices. The factors influencing respondents' attitudes towards medical aesthetic practices in the country were analysed using binary logistic regression, with the significance level set at P<0.05. Results: A total of 382 respondents participated in this study with average age of 30.81 (±9.38) years, ranging from 18 to 68 years. e majority were women (77.5%), Malay (53.7%) and Muslim (57.1%). Although most respondents had no prior experience in medical aesthetic treatment (68.1%), 76.2% respondents demonstrated good knowledge and 70.2% had positive attitude towards these services. Additionally, 53.9% of the respondents highly valued the importance of physical attractiveness. Th e Buddhists and Hindus exhibited more positive attitude than the Muslims. Conversely, those who placed higher importance on physical attractiveness were 0.5 times less likely to develop a positive attitude towards medical aesthetic services. Conclusion: In conclusion, despite limited experience in medical aesthetic treatments and practice, most Malaysians possess good knowledge and positive attitudes towards medical aesthetics, indicating a growing interest and potential willingness to consider these services for enhancing their appearance. Background: Medication review (MR) services are evidenced-based practices in which a systematic assessment of a patient's medication is conducted, primarily aiming to optimize drug therapy and minimize adverse drug events through pharmacist interventions. Although studies show that MR services are effective, the implementation of MR services in Malaysia has been challenging due to several barriers. An MR services blueprint was developed to be adapted to the Malaysian community pharmacy setting as part of tailoring strategies. Objective: Through utilizing the design thinking triple diamond model and implementation science principles, a powerful guide for healthcare researchers and stakeholders to assist with effective service implementation, this study aimed to evaluate the implementation testing and observe the effectiveness of the developed MR service blueprint. Method: The study utilizes an effectiveness-implementation Type 3 hybrid implementation science framework conducted from May 2021 to April 2022. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, researchers observed pharmacy study sites during the implementation of MR services. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected across exploration, preparation, testing, and operational phases. Implementation outcomes evaluated include phases, reach, fidelity, acceptability, as well as implementation barriers and strategies. MR intervention outcomes included service characteristics and the number and type of drug-related problems and interventions offered. Results: 17 community pharmacists were invited to pilot the MR service blueprint for six months in their setting. Of this, 78.5% (n = 11) of the pharmacies reached the testing phase, and 36% (n = 4) reached the implementation phase. Fifty-four patients were in the study, giving an implementation reach of 70%. The majority of surveyed patients expressed satisfaction with the service. The total DRP identified was 133, and 64 interventions were provided by the pharmacists. Facilitation strategies such as "Engage stakeholders by creating ownership of the change" and "Equip stakeholders with training" are needed to overcome the barriers. Conclusion: This study marked the beginning of successful MR service implementation at Malaysian community pharmacies. Background: Medication review (MR) is the systematic assessment of a patient's medications for safety and effectiveness by a healthcare professional. The language used to describe MR activity, such as stopped medicine and increased dose, should be consistent across studies to assist researchers compare how different services operate and identify their mechanism of impact. Aim: To develop an international taxonomy of standardized terms and activity definitions related to medication reviews. Method: This was a three-stage Delphi-based consensus study with international medication review experts. A systematic review provided MR activity terms for the survey. Experts rated their consensus on each activity term and its definition on a Likert scale and provided written feedback. The consensus was 75% panel agreement. At each stage, consensus elements were retained, and feedback was used to revise definitions. Results: Seven experts were recruited for the study (response rate 15.2%) from four countries: the United Kingdom (n = 4), New Zealand (n = 1), Australia (n = 1), and Malaysia (n = 1). The following terms achieved consensus: the term Medication as a descriptor for MR terms; discontinue medication, start medication, dose increase, dose decrease, dosage form change, and medication safety and efficacy monitor to describe MR activity; Educate to describe the delivery of healthcare professionals and patients/carers education. Conclusion: Standardized medication review activity terms and definitions have been selected for universal adoption in all future MR research to facilitate a meaningful comparison of process evaluations within different settings. Purpose: To review systematically the involvement of Annexin A1 (ANXA1) in various leukemia cells in order to advance the understanding of ANXA1 role in leukemia. Methods: The systematic review was carried out via a comprehensive search of electronic databases for all relevant articles published up to September 2017. Specific key words were used to retrieve the articles. All articles were imported into EndNote software while duplicates were removed from the list. The retrieved articles were selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: FK228, a novel HDACi and FR235222, increased expression of ANXA1 in Kasumi-1, SKNO-1 and U937 cells, respectively, and induced apoptosis. The study also neutralized ANXA1 in the same cells, which caused a complete blockage of the FK228-induced apoptosis. Resveratrol was reported to markedly increase ANXA1 levels which led to caspase 3-mediated apoptosis on HL-60 cells. Dexamethasone, 17β-estradiol (E2β), all-trans retinoic acid and okadaic acid enhanced ANXA1 mRNA expression in U937, human CCRF-CEM, ATRA-NB4 and HL-60 cell lines. Rp-8-Br-cAMPs prevented dexamethasone-, E2β- and dBcAMP-induced ANXA1 synthesis via the activation of cAMP-respondelement binding protein (CREB). ANXA1 levels were reduced dramatically in K562/ADR cells as compared to K562 cells. When ANXA1 was upregulated by transfection in these cells, the cells exhibited a decrease in resistance to ADR and vincristine. Conclusion: ANXA1 expression is induced by different drugs which leads to apoptosis in different types of cell. ANXA1 plays a role in the drug resistance of leukemic cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
