To be included in the Egyptian agricultural policy to help the decision-maker to take the necessary corrective actions about it. Where the study found several factors affecting the consumption of Edible Oil and fats can be limited to the most important are as follows: The per capita consumption of Edible Oil (of Human unit). The per capita expenditure on Edible Oil, the effect of the price / income ratio of group of Edible Oil and fats, the frequency of frying in the same oil, the function of the head of household, the average price of a kilogram of vegetable ghee, the volume of containers of Edible Oil, Types of pot keeping the oil after use, the use of oil in a frying more than one type of food, rising per capita income (Human Unit), increase the rate of per capita consumption (of Human unit), the proliferation of fast food shops, as well as shops , beans and falafel, increasing individual consumption of fast food, especially after the revolution due length of waiting of individuals in the Egyptian street . The study pointed out many of the expectations and proposals could limit the most important are as follows: Increasing the area of ​​land cultivated oily crops, need to focus on projects in Toshka and the Qattara Depression and the cultivation of parts of the northern coast, the return to agricultural rotation system of enter including the Oileeds, restart Edible Oil factories with full capacity both in the stages of refining of raw Oil imported or Edible Oil extraction from locally grown Oileeds, rationalizing the use of Edible Oil in domestic consumption.

Abstract Distributed database system (DDBS) design is still an open challenge even after decades of research, especially in a dynamic network setting. Hence, to meet the demands of high-speed data gathering and for the management and preservation of huge systems, it is important to construct a distributed database for real-time data storage. Incidentally, some fragmentation schemes, such as horizontal, vertical, and hybrid, are widely used for DDBS design. At the same time, data allocation could not be done without first physically fragmenting the data because the fragmentation process is the foundation of the DDBS design. Extensive research have been conducted to develop effective solutions for DDBS design problems. But the great majority of them barely consider the RDDBS's initial design. Therefore, this work aims at proposing a clustering-based horizontal fragmentation and allocation technique to handle both the early and late stages of the DDBS design. To ensure that each operation flows into the next without any increase in complexity, fragmentation and allocation are done simultaneously. With this approach, the main goals are to minimize communication expenses, response time, and irrelevant data access. Most importantly, it has been observed that the proposed approach may effectively expand RDDBS performance by simultaneously fragmenting and assigning various relations. Through simulations and experiments on synthetic and real databases, we demonstrate the viability of our strategy and how it considerably lowers communication costs for typical access patterns at both the early and late stages of design.

Abstract Collaborative filtering (CF), one of the most widely employed methodologies for recommender systems, has drawn undeniable attention due to its effectiveness and simplicity. Nevertheless, a few papers have been published on the CF-based item-based model using similarity measures than the user-based model due to the model's complexity and the time required to build it. Additionally, the substantial shortcomings in the user-based measurements when the item-based model is taken into account motivated us to create stronger models in this work. Not to mention that the common trickiest challenge is dealing with the cold-start problem, in which users' history of item-buying behavior is missing (i.e., new users) or items for which activity is not provided (i.e., new items). Therefore, our novel five similarity measures, which have the potential to solve sparse data, are developed to alleviate the impact of this important problem. Most importantly, a thorough empirical analysis of how the item-based model affects the CF-based recommendation system’s performance has also been a critical part of this work, which presents a benchmarking study for thirty similarity metrics. The MAE, MSE, and accuracy metrics, together with fivefold cross-validation, are used to properly assess and examine the influence of all considered similarity measures using the Movie-lens 100 K and Film Trust datasets. The findings demonstrate how competitive the proposed similarity measures are in comparison to their alternatives. Surprisingly, some of the top "state-of-the-art" performers (such as SMD and NHSM) have been unable to fiercely compete with our proposed rivals when utilizing the item-based model.

Abstract Sediments are vital components of aquatic ecosystems, which trap and store various essential elements as well as harmful polluting substances. This is why sediment quality assessment is of great importance in measuring the quality, or pollution, of water bodies. In this study, the levels, ecological risk, and toxicity indices of 17 heavy metals (HMs) were evaluated in the sediments of the two lakes: Upper Wadi El-Rayan Lake (UWRL) and Lower Wadi El-Rayan Lake (LWRL). Both are important wetlands in Egypt used as agricultural drainage water reservoirs for Fayoum province. As revealed by the texture of the sediments, the sand represented the major sediment portion of the UWRL, while the mud was dominant in the LWRL. According to ecological risk assessment, the sediments of the two lakes suffer different degrees of metal pollution, mainly Cd, Pb, and Ni. Based on sediment quality guidelines, toxicity indices indicated different potential toxic effects of the studied HMs on benthic-dwelling organisms, but Ni and Ba had the highest potential biological risk. Results also revealed that the area facing the El-Wadi Drain is the most polluted due to its proximity to the water drainage entrance. However, LWRL is generally more polluted than UWRL. This is related to the shrinkage of water volume and lake area; it causes an increase in the concentration of metals in water, and thus an increase in the sedimentation rate of these metals into the bottom.

Zingiber officinale, Curcuma longa, and Momordica charantia are medicinal plants that are commonly used in the form of herbal tea, which is formulated to strengthen the immune system, especially against COVID-19 infection. Excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunostimulatory properties have been reported for their bioactive compounds, which have been shown to aid in stimulating immune systems as well as lowering the risk of severe COVID-19 such as lung injury. Yet, no bibliometric study on the subject is available. Hence, the purpose of this study is to quantitatively examine the existing articles related to the therapeutic potential of these three herbs, as well as their mechanisms of action in combating the SARS-CoV-2 virus. A total of 121 papers were retrieved from Scopus database up to 14th March 2023. The bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer software. Based on the literature search, Z. officinale was the most researched plant. India appeared as the most prolific country, with the highest number of articles contributed by two authors from India (Rathi, R. and Gayatri Devi, R.). In terms of keywords, the plants were associated with immune modulation, management of symptoms, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiviral activities. Several important bioactive compounds were responsible for these effects such as gingerol, paradol, shogaol, curcumin, calebin A, momordicoside, karaviloside and cucurbitadienol. These compounds were hypothesized to prevent and cure COVID-19 by regulating inflammatory response, downregulating oxidative stress and modulating immunostimulatory activity. This review paper therefore supports the potential of Z. officinale, C. longa, and M. charantia to be formulated as a herbal blend for treating and preventing COVID-19 infection.

Abstract Background Chikungunya is an arboviral infection caused by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) transmitted to humans by mosquitoes of Aedes spp. CHIKV has been confined to African countries and South-East Asia up to 2004, but since then, the pathogen has become more global, and its high morbidity rate has become more visible. Saudi Arabia is not an endemic region of CHIKV, and the virus’s origin is not yet fully understood. This study aimed to characterize the genome of CHIKV from samples detected in Jeddah in 2018. Method Twenty-two sets of primers were designed to amplify near-full length genome of CHIKV. RT-PCR was conducted from clinical samples. Two samples were used for studying near complete genome sequence while the remaining samples were used to study the E1 gene. Different bioinformatics tools were utilized. Results Phylogenetic analysis showed that the CHIKV strains clustered with strains isolated from Kenya during 2017–2018 and belonged to ECSA genotype. E1: L136F, K211E and I317V mutations were identified in our strains. Also, E2: M74I, A76T, and V264A mutations were documented. Additionally, the capsid N79S substitution was also detected. Conclusion The genome of CHIKV was analyzed for the first time in Saudi Arabia to better understand the origin of the CHIKV and its genetic diversity, which showed high similarity with IE—a subclade of CHIKV strains detected in Mombasa (Kenya) indicating its possible origin.

Dyslipidemia is defined as an imbalance level of lipids in the blood which is manifested by hypercholesterolemia and requires effective treatments or preventions. Numerous studies have discussed the various medicinal properties of Camellia sinensis, Zingiber officinale, and Morinda citrifolia, however, no bibliometric study about the trends and use of these three plants in cholesterol management around the world. Hence, this study employed the Scopus database to review the available literature on the potential cholesterol-lowering effects of these medicinal plants. In total, 822 articles were extracted, covering 360 keywords. Bibliometric analysis was done using VOSviewer software to analyse the global trends of the published articles focusing on the keywords, authors, countries, publication sources, and documents. The bioactive compounds, mechanisms of action, drug-herb interaction, and safe dosage were also addressed. The three plants were used globally in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and South America. Z. officinale was the most researched plant, while India produced the highest number of documents. It was observed that these plants were scientifically proven in lowering the low-density lipoproteins cholesterol, triglycerides, and total cholesterol while increasing the high-density lipoproteins cholesterol due to their powerful bioactive constituents such as theaflavin, flavonol, gingerol, paradol, and niacin. Their major bioactive compounds have various mechanisms of action in altering lipid levels which require further studies to explore their mechanisms and benefits in a polyherbal form. Certain herbal-drug interactions and dosage should be taken into consideration to ensure the safe and effective usage of these plants. Our results hold significance for traditional and empirical medical evidence of this topic. More research collaborations are also needed to uncover research gaps such as molecular mechanisms, polyherbal formulations, and clinical trials. This will help in recognizing herbal medicine as a treatment approach for dyslipidemia.
