The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of presentation methods and colors of clothes on dressing image from the psychological and physiological responses. Subjects are 15 women of 21-22 years old. The psychological reaction was measured with a semantic differential method using nine clothing images, nine character images and feelings when subjects evaluated six samples. The physiological reaction was determined by using an electrocardiogram (ECG) and a galvanic skin response (GSR). Experiments have shown that the clothing image was composed of three principal components: "Preference"," Refinement" and "Grace". The character image was composed of two principal components: "Elegance" and "Friendliness". The colors of clothes influence on the psychological reaction especially. The presentation media and the wearer affect the degree of color effect of clothes. The physiological effect caused by the "presentation media with reality" such as an original and an Alice mirror differs from the physiological effect caused by the "presentation media without reality" such as a picture, a display and a screen. The results have revealed that the wearers affect psychological reaction greatly. The physiological effect caused by the "Presentation method with the reality" such as an original and an Alice mirror differs from the physiological effect caused by the "Presentation method without the reality" such as a picture, a display and a screen. The correlation was recognized between the psychological reaction and the physiological reaction. The physiological reaction has increased with increasing a negative evaluation and feelings. Umbilical artery thrombosis (UAT) is rare and few prenatally diagnosed cases have been reported. We describe 2 cases of fetal growth restriction prenatally diagnosed as UAT by ultrasound examination. In each case the cross section of the umbilical cord showed one normal artery and a small echogenic area which was suspected as an occluded thrombotic artery and they were surrounded by a highly curving 'C-shaped' vein. UAT was confirmed by histological examinations after deliveries in both cases. The characteristic ultrasound finding of the umbilical vessel, which is the so-called 'orange grabbed sign', enables the prenatal diagnosis of UAT and it is valuable with respect to perinatal fetal management because UAT is associated with increased perinatal morbidity and mortality. © 2013 S. A 53-year-old man, admitted for inguinal hernia, complained of body weight loss in a preoperative condition check. We examined the digestive tract and diagnosed stage IV advanced rectal carcinoma with multiple lung metastases. It caused ileus, so emergency colostomy was performed. After that his general condition recovered, and two cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) by irinotecan combined with 5-fluorouracil and l-leucovorin (IFL) therapy were performed on an outpatient basis. Lung metastatic nodules disappeared. We established a diagnosis of down staging for stage IIIa, and performed a lower anterior resection with D 2 lymph node dissection to allow a curability-A resection. The pathological effect of NAC was Grade 2. Post-operatively, two cycles of IFL therapy were then performed. There has been no sign of recurrence, and no adverse effects by chemotherapy have been seen during this treatment. Thus, NAC by IFL therapy can be one of the useful treatment approaches for patients with advanced rectal cancer.
