Loop‐mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is a promising nucleic acid‐based assay for quick, accurate and cost‐effective diagnosis of many infectious agents. The purpose of this study was to assess the diagnostic value of LAMP for rapid and accurate detection of Helicobacter pylori in biopsy specimens. Patients suffering from one or several gastroduodenal disorders were enrolled in the study. Specificity, sensitivity, and the positive and negative predictive values of LAMP were compared with the gold standard result, which was the assembled result of culture, rapid urease test and polymerase chain reaction. Sensitivity, specificity, and the positive and negative predictive values of LAMP in comparison with the gold standard result were 100%, 30.76%, and 87.67% and 100% respectively [%95 CI]. As the diagnostic value of LAMP is favourable, the method is an optimum technique for diagnosis the presence of H. pylori in different clinical and environmental samples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is estimated that up to 20% of all types of human cancers worldwide are attributed to viruses. The genome of oncogenic viruses carries genes that have protein products that act as oncoproteins in cell proliferation and transformation. The modulation of cell cycle control mechanisms, cellular regulatory and signaling pathways by oncogenic viruses, plays an important role in viral carcinogenesis. Different signaling pathways play a part in the carcinogenesis that occurs in a cell. Among these pathways, the Wnt signaling pathway plays a predominant role in carcinogenesis and is known as a central cellular pathway in the development of tumors. There are three Wnt signaling pathways that are well identified, including the canonical or Wnt/ß-catenin dependent pathway, the noncanonical or ß-catenin-independent planar cell polarity (PCP) pathway, and the noncanonical Wnt/Ca2+ pathway. Most of the oncogenic viruses modulate the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. This review discusses the interaction between proteins of several human oncogenic viruses with the Wnt signaling pathway. Background & objective: An appropriate sexual intercourse resulting in both parties' satisfaction can play a crucial role in couples' relations and family strength. Forgiveness is one of the psychological and relational processes for enhancing hurt-healing which influence many indicators of mental health. Women) mental health guarantees family and, in turn, society's health. Thus, this study aims to explore the relationship between sexual knowledge and marital forgiveness with the mental health of married women aged 20-40 yrs. in Aleshtarcity in Lorestan Province, Iran . Methods:The Hooper Sexual knowledge scale, Pollard Forgiveness scale (FFC), and Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) were used in the study. The statistical population consisted of married women in Aleshtar city in the year 2012. Samples comprised of 120 people were selected by clustering sampling. Data was analyzed through SPSS16 using simple correlation coefficient; regression and t-test were used for comparing means and analysis of variance. In this study, the significance level was considered 0.05. Results: There was a significant positive correlation between sexual knowledge and mental health of married women (r=0.215, p <0.05). There was also was a significant positive correlation between forgiveness and mental health of married women (r=-0.347, p <0.001), Conclusion: Education and increasing the sexual knowledge of women could improve their mental health.
