•Semi-clathrates have some special thermodynamic properties in contrast to gas hydrates that work at low pressure.•Promoters speed up hydrate formation by raising the rate of hydrate production and lowering the equilibrium condition.•TBAB exhibited the greatest CO2selectivity even at modest pressure compared to TBAC, TBPB, and TBPC.•TBAB and TBPB in combination increased CO2absorption because of acceleration of hydrate formation.•Hydrate-based capture can reduce energy costs by 50–75 % compared to membranes and cryogenic distillation.

Abstract

A person's attitude towards a particular object may influence his/her behaviour towards this object (Bohner & Wanke, 2002). Actually, in Yemen, British English and American English accents are both used in private institutes, particularly in textbooks. Therefore, identifying the teachers' attitudes towards English accents is quite pertinent in improving the learning of this foreign language. This paper mainly investigates the attitudes of Yemeni English language teachers towards American and British English accents. It also attempts to find out which English accent Yemeni English teachers mostly use in the classroom. A questionnaire was used to elicit the attitudes from 40 Yemen English language teachers, taught at English learning private institutes. The results indicate that most of the participants prefer to use American accent more than British in the classroom. However, they use a mixture of both while teaching. Even though the majority claim that no accent is superior to the other, most of the participants consider British accent as the actual accent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The present family scenario is totally different from the earlier one. In earlier time Indian societies used to have the joint family system, where language acquisition by infants was not at all an issue. However, shift from joint family to nuclear family system made heavy impact on the process of language acquisition which is a very important phenomena of human life. The present paper investigate the contibution of media in language acquisition by children belonging to nuclear families. The effects of watching animated cartoons and you tube short clips on toddlers has been mainly searched in this paper. The data for this study has been collected from the Aligarh city of Utter Pradesh, India. This study further analyses the effect of cartoons on the mental development of young children. Cartoons on one hand contribute in a positive way to the process of language acquisition but at the same time they also have some negative impacts. Children who are excessively exposed to the cartoons sometimes become lethargic, violent etc. depending upon the nature of cartoons they are exposed to. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

I den här uppsatsen har värdeskapande genom IT-investeringar inom en organisation studerats för att hitta vad som styr värdeskapandet samt hur värdet formas. Inledningsvis utfördes en kvantitativ studie för att urskilja företag med tydliga IT-investeringstrender i Sverige. Utifrån detta gjordes sedan en kvalitativ studie genom en djupgående undersökning av tre svenska företag som verkar inom branscherna livsmedel, bank och tillverkning för att kunna göra intressanta jämförelser. Syftet har varit att finna hur värdeskapande med hjälp av IT fungerar genom att granska strategiarbetet och dess utmaningar. Ytterligare ett syfte var att studera vad för slags värden olika IT-investeringar skapar. Genom de studier som har gjorts har vissa trender uppvisats, främst att IT är av stor betydelse för alla tre bolagen. Detta syns både i ökade resurser samt ett ökat intresse genom hela organisationen för IT:s värde. Resultatet tyder på att det tydligaste och främsta värdet som IT medför är kostnadseffektivisering samt kontroll av interna processer. Ett mindre, men växande värde är intäktsökning genom innovationsrika IT-investeringar. Integration av IT- och affärsstrategier är av betydelse för att få ut ett högre affärsvärde av IT-investeringar.

The purpose of this study was to 1) identify driving forces for introducing new system development methodologies at the Swedish Tax Agency. The preconditions of the Swedish Tax Agency also affect the use of new methodologies. The study therefore also aimed to 2) portrait the influence of the preconditions on the organization. Furthermore, the object of the study was to 3) illustrate the use of methods in system development and also to 4) investigate the contributions of the methods to the organization and the four case projects within the Swedish Tax Agency. The study was carried out through a qualitative methodology, with interviews, and a quantitative methodology, with questionnaires and document collection. A combination of methods was used in order to acquire a holistic perspective of a complex issue. From the study, some conclusions have been drawn. Firstly; being modern, fashionable and a desirable employer are driving forces for introducing new system development methods, together with a desire of increased efficiency when developing systems. Secondly; the main preconditions were identified as the organizational culture and how the purpose of a change is communicated to the affected employees. Thirdly; all of the project teams that were that participated in the study was found to use different hybrids of system development methods, which lead to the fourth conclusion; the used methods was found to contribute with different things, such as structure in project planning and when tracking sources of errors, commitment in work and good group dynamics.
