High need for precision agriculture today has been associated with the completeness of the data available. The application of smart technology becomes the main alternative for fulfilling incomplete data and predicting future data. This paper presents the results of a research that aims to monitor and to predict the implications of climate change on water availability using time series data from satellite rainfall, spanning from 2007 to 2022. We employed the innovative use of remote sensing technology, Global Rainfall Measurement (GPM) and Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Rainfall with Station data (CHIRPS), to assess and correct satellite-derived rainfall estimates against ground-based observations. Conducted in the Serang watershed of Mount Merbabu's volcanic landscape, the research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. We used coupled climate models MIROC6 and MRI-ESM2-0 in the CMIP-6 Framework for rainfall projections 2023–2030, then continued with the F.J. Mock model simulations for water availability projection. Our findings reveal a significant impact of climate change on water availability over the decade, with the most extreme conditions observed in 2029 and 2030, where the increasing of water availability reaching 10 m3/s. The results showed that CHIRPS performed well in describing rainfall data. The novelty of this research highlighting the potential of: firstly, the use of satellite rainfall data for this specific region has not been extensively studied before; secondly, the discovered impacts of climate change to the water availability are particularly noteworthy, and thus contributing to the sustainability of agricultural practices in response to climate change. A limitation of this study is the short investigation period of just one decade, which does not fully capture the long-term impacts of climate change. Future research is recommended to utilize satellite data over extended periods to better represent extreme climate events and derive drought and wetness patterns over durations exceeding one decade.

Pretraining neural networks with massive unlabeled datasets has become popular as it equips the deep models with a better prior to solve downstream tasks. However, this approach generally assumes that the downstream tasks have access to annotated data of sufficient size. In this work, we propose ALOE, a novel system for improving the data- and label-efficiency of non-semantic speech tasks with active learning (AL). ALOE uses pretrained models in conjunction with active learning to label data incrementally and learn classifiers for downstream tasks, thereby mitigating the need to acquire labeled data beforehand. We demonstrate the effectiveness of ALOE on a wide range of tasks, uncertainty-based acquisition functions, and model architectures. Training a linear classifier on top of a frozen encoder with ALOE is shown to achieve performance similar to several baselines that utilize the entire labeled data.

BPJS Kesehatan noted that cancer financing claims reached IDR 3.5 trillion, ranking second after heart disease. This study aimed to determine the difference in direct medical costs with Indonesian-Case Base Groups (INA-CBGs) claims of outpatient breast cancer in Class A and B hospitals. The population is National Health Insurance (JKN) patients with outpatient breast cancer with the code INA-CBGs C-3-13-0. Data was collected retrospectively by tracing medical records, pharmaceuticals, and direct medical cost data for outpatient cancer patients in Class A and B hospitals for 2021. Direct medical costs are the actual costs of a patient's health care during a single visit to the hospital based on the hospital's perspective. Using the Mann-Whitney test, statistical analysis was performed to see how INA-CBGs claims differ from direct medical costs. The study result showed that the average direct medical cost of outpatient breast cancer patients in the group of recipients of contribution assistance (PBI) in Class A hospitals was IDR 3,397,073, non-PBI patients were IDR 3,439,253, and in Class B hospitals were IDR 2,619,355.26 with the direct medical cost component that contributed the most was drug bills. The direct medical costs of the hospital are more significant than the claims of INA-CBGs, resulting in a negative difference with the details of PBI patients in class A hospitals of minus IDR 88,041,600, non-PBI patients of minus IDR 91,386,300, and patients in Class B hospitals of minus IDR 164,113,635. There is a significant difference between the total claims of INA-CBG and direct medical costs for outpatient breast cancer patients in Class A and B hospitals (p=0.0001).

INTRODUCTION: Non-Hispanic Black men experience a disproportionate rate of morbidity and mortality from hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions in the United States. Studies have demonstrated the efficacy of community-based health outreach in settings not traditionally utilized for health care. Understanding how potential future participants view health care services in nontraditional settings is a necessary step to ascertain the success of these interventions in the real world. Our study objective was to explore the preferences of Black male barbershop patrons regarding health care-provided services in these nontraditional settings. METHODS: We recruited patrons of a Black-owned barbershop in the San Francisco Bay Area. Study participants were asked to complete a survey assessing individual attitudes and preferences toward the idea of receiving health care services in traditional and nontraditional settings. RESULTS: Among non-Hispanic Black males (n=17), 81% agreed or strongly agreed that they would prefer to receive health care in traditional clinics. Receiving care at the pharmacy (56% agreed or strongly agreed) and the patients own home (53% agreed or strongly agreed) were the next most preferred locations. A minority of participants agreed or strongly agreed that they preferred to receive health care in nontraditional settings: 47% for barbershops, 19% for churches, and 6% for grocery stores. DISCUSSION: Participants expressed preference for traditional over nontraditional settings, despite listing barriers that may be addressed, in part, by nontraditional settings. One potential reason for this is simply a lack of familiarity. Establishing and normalizing nontraditional clinical settings may allow for enhanced acceptance within Black communities, ultimately increasing health care access.

Abstract Parkinson´s disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative movement disorder and leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) is a promising therapeutic target for disease intervention. However, the ability to stratify patients who will benefit from such treatment modalities based on shared etiology is critical for the success of disease-modifying therapies. Ciliary and centrosomal alterations are commonly associated with pathogenic LRRK2 kinase activity and can be detected in many cell types. We previously found centrosomal deficits in immortalized lymphocytes from G2019S-LRRK2 PD patients. Here, to investigate whether such deficits may serve as a potential blood biomarker for PD which is susceptible to LRKK2 inhibitor treatment, we characterized patient-derived cells from distinct PD cohorts. We report centrosomal alterations in peripheral cells from a subset of early-stage idiopathic PD patients which is mitigated by LRRK2 kinase inhibition, supporting a role for aberrant LRRK2 activity in idiopathic PD. Centrosomal defects are detected in R1441G-LRRK2 and G2019S-LRRK2 PD patients and in non-manifesting LRRK2 mutation carriers, indicating that they accumulate prior to a clinical PD diagnosis. They are present in immortalized cells as well as in primary lymphocytes from peripheral blood. These findings indicate that analysis of centrosomal defects as a blood-based patient stratification biomarker may help nominate idiopathic PD patients who will benefit from LRRK2-related therapeutics.

AbstractGlobal labor market shifts have spurred the need for innovations and adaptations in workplace norms. This evolution demands a workforce with technical and soft skills to meet sustainability and industry advancements. The paper aims to elucidate the complex challenges related to the ambition to develop a socially sustainable, competitive, and green industry subjected to an accelerating pace of change. It outlines the findings of a Delphi study conducted in Sweden, which integrated workshops, interviews, and surveys with experts from various sectors to identify 14 key challenges. These challenges were synthesized into five themes: innovative competence supply management practices, resilient organizations and production systems, analytics for improvement and learning, socially sustainable work, and green transformation practices. The study provides a set of propositions within these themes, offering a strategic roadmap for future research to foster the growth of industries that are socially responsible, competitive, and committed to environmental sustainability. A practical implication of the study is the recognition of the larger competence ecosystem of which industrial companies are a part. This community must work together to create the knowledge needed to manage the shift to a green, sustainable, and digital working life.

Background and research aims: Most of volcanic landscapes on Java, Indonesia, are increasingly being used for agriculture. As a consequence, high rate of soil erosion due to agricultural cultivation cannot be avoided. Agricultural reservoir is one of methods to maintain soil loss due to erosion. Most research to date, however, have been based on the function of the reservoirs rather than on the arrangement of the reservoirs which are usually locally specific. Thus, an evaluation of the arrangement for agricultural reservoir becomes a crucial innovation. This study was aimed at examining the effectiveness of agricultural reservoir arrangement along rill erosion in reducing runoff volume as well as erosion rate, and increasing sediment trapped. Methods: The research was conducted using the field survey method at a key sampling area by considering the dominant relief and land cover on the volcanic landscape of the Sumbing Volcano. Data collected includes soil properties (texture, organic matter, porosity, soil pore distribution, permeability, and soil infiltration rate), runoff discharge, runoff volume, and sediment delivery. Research started by determining the points for placing the agricultural reservoirs along the rill erosion and continued with field and laboratory measurements. Results: Our results showed that placing agricultural reservoirs along the rill erosion effectively reduced erosion by 99.97%. Consequently, the erosion rate was only 5.5 × 10 −4 ton ha −1 . The effectiveness of agricultural reservoirs in reducing runoff volume and sediment delivery was 99.72% and 94.15%, respectively. Conclusion: Agricultural reservoirs that are placed along the rill erosion effectively trap sediment and reduce runoff so that erosion rates decrease. Implications for conservation: Placing agricultural reservoirs along rill erosion can improve the effectiveness of reservoirs in decreasing the erosion rate. This strategy helps reduce runoff and sediment to maintain the productivity of agricultural land. Finding a suitable strategy for the evaluation of erosion and sedimentation processes has important implications for soil and water conservation.

This work studies publications in cognitive science and utilizes mathematical techniques to connect the analysis of the papers' content (abstracts) to the context (citation, journals). We apply topic modeling on the abstracts and community detection algorithms on the citation network, and measure content-context discrepancy to find academic communities that study similar topics but do not cite each other or publish in the same venues. These results show a promising, systematic framework to identify opportunities for scientific collaboration in a highly interdisciplinary and diverse field such as cognitive science.

Aripiprazole lauroxil 1064 mg (AL 1064) is an LAI formulation of aripiprazole lauroxil, an aripiprazole prodrug, for administration once every 2 months, indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults. This analysis provides an indirect comparison of aripiprazole plasma concentrations following multiple doses of either formulation. Clinical trial data were used to determine average steady-state aripiprazole plasma concentration (Cavg,ss), maximum aripiprazole plasma concentration (Cmax), and other pharmacokinetic parameters of either formulation following four administrations (96 patients received Ari 2MRTU 960; 28 patients received AL 1064). All pharmacokinetic parameters were considered in the context of a minimum aripiprazole therapeutic concentration (Cmin) of ≥ 95 ng/mL. An exposure–response analysis using data from two Phase III trials of aripiprazole once-monthly (an aripiprazole monohydrate LAI, administered monthly), showed that patients with a Cmin ≥ 95 ng/mL are 4.41 times less likely to relapse than patients with a Cmin < 95 ng/mL. A similar analysis has not been performed for AL 1064. However, consensus guidelines for therapeutic drug monitoring recommend a range of 100– 350 ng/mL for aripiprazole. Following four administrations, mean (standard deviation [SD]) Cavg,ss over the 2-month dosing interval was 263 (133) ng/mL for Ari 2MRTU 960 and 140.7 (57.3) ng/mL for AL 1064. Mean (SD) Cmax during the fourth dosing interval was 342 (157) ng/mL for Ari 2MRTU 960 and 188.8 (79.8) ng/mL for AL 1064. This indirect comparison showed that, following four administrations, Ari 2MRTU 960 and AL 1064 delivered mean aripiprazole plasma concentrations that remained above the minimum therapeutic concentration of aripiprazole over the 2-month dosing interval.Keywords: antipsychotic, bipolar I disorder, long-acting injectable, schizophrenia

Abstract Human papillomavirus (HPV) infects nearly 85% of sexually active Americans during their lifetime, causing most cervical and five other cancers. Routine HPV vaccination is recommended for adolescents to prevent HPV-attributable cancers, but HPV vaccination coverage remains low, especially in Tennessee. In 2021, 54.6% of the population in Shelby County, Tennessee was Black or African American, reporting higher rates of new cervical cancer cases than other counties in Tennessee. While medical and public health professionals (HPs) play a critical role in promoting vaccination coverage, little is known about the factors HPs perceive to influence HPV vaccination for this population. This study sought to explore HPs’ perceived facilitators and barriers of HPV vaccination among African American adolescents. Qualitative individual interviews with 26 HPs in Shelby County were conducted between October 2019 and February 2020. Interpretive content analysis of the interview data guided by the socio-ecological model revealed several important themes regarding the facilitators and barriers across the individual, interpersonal, and community levels. At the individual level, parental vaccine hesitancy emerged as a leading barrier to HPV vaccination, while appropriate education facilitated the vaccination. At the interpersonal level, a lack of strong provider recommendations impeded HPV vaccination, whereas improved communication skills with patients facilitated the vaccination. Finally, the community-level barriers included a lack of education and social/religious norms; the community-level facilitators included community outreach efforts. HPs should consider development of comprehensive community-based approaches that leverage the facilitators and barriers at multiple levels to increase HPV vaccination among African American adolescents in this region.

Mutations in leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) are a common cause of inherited and sporadic Parkinson’s disease (PD) and previous work suggests that dephosphorylation of LRRK2 at a cluster of heterologous phosphosites is associated to disease. We have previously reported subunits of the PP1 and PP2A classes of phosphatases as well as the PAK6 kinase as regulators of LRRK2 dephosphorylation. We therefore hypothesized that PAK6 may have a functional link with LRRK2’s phosphatases. To investigate this, we used PhosTag gel electrophoresis with purified proteins and found that PAK6 phosphorylates the PP2A regulatory subunit PPP2R2C at position S381. While S381 phosphorylation did not affect PP2A holoenzyme formation, a S381A phosphodead PPP2R2C showed impaired binding to LRRK2. Also, PAK6 kinase activity changed PPP2R2C subcellular localization in a S381 phosphorylation-dependent manner. Finally, PAK6-mediated dephosphorylation of LRRK2 was unaffected by phosphorylation of PPP2R2C at S381, suggesting that the previously reported mechanism whereby PAK6-mediated phosphorylation of 14-3-3 proteins promotes 14-3-3-LRRK2 complex dissociation and consequent exposure of LRRK2 phosphosites for dephosphorylation is dominant. Taken together, we conclude that PAK6-mediated phosphorylation of PPP2R2C influences the recruitment of PPP2R2C to the LRRK2 complex and PPP2R2C subcellular localization, pointing to an additional mechanism in the fine-tuning of LRRK2 phosphorylation.

Abstract Expression or phosphorylation levels of leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) and its Rab substrates have strong potential as disease or pharmacodynamic biomarkers. The main objective of this study is therefore to assess the LRRK2-Rab pathway for use as biomarkers in human, non-human primate (NHP) and rat urine. With urine collected from human subjects and animals, we applied an ultracentrifugation based fractionation protocol to isolate small urinary extracellular vesicles (uEVs). We used western blot with antibodies directed against total and phosphorylated LRRK2, Rab8, and Rab10 to measure these LRRK2 and Rab epitopes in uEVs. We confirm the presence of LRRK2 and Rab8/10 in human and NHP uEVs, including total LRRK2 as well as phospho-LRRK2, phospho-Rab8 and phospho-Rab10. We also confirm LRRK2 and Rab expression in rodent uEVs. We quantified LRRK2 and Rab epitopes in human cohorts and found in a first cohort that pS1292-LRRK2 levels were elevated in individuals carrying the LRRK2 G2019S mutation, without significant differences between healthy and PD groups, whether for LRRK2 G2019S carriers or not. In a second cohort, we found that PD was associated to increased Rab8 levels and decreased pS910-LRRK2 and pS935-LRRK2. In animals, acute treatment with LRRK2 kinase inhibitors led to decreased pT73-Rab10. The identification of changes in Rab8 and LRRK2 phosphorylation at S910 and S935 heterologous phosphosites in uEVs of PD patients and pT73-Rab10 in inhibitor-dosed animals further reinforces the potential of the LRRK2-Rab pathway as a source of PD and pharmacodynamic biomarkers in uEVs.

Additive manufacturing (AM) techniques such as laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) are rapidly growing due to the inherent design freedom and possibilities to produce components not available with other techniques. This could be utilized in, e.g., the design of new types of heat exchangers in ferritic stainless steels often used for high-temperature applications. Ferritic stainless steels are, however, difficult to weld and could therefore imply obstacles when produced by AM. When establishing the AM-produced alloy in new applications, it is therefore important to increase the understanding of the mechanical properties and high-temperature creep resistance in relation to the unique microstructure and printability. In this study, we have investigated the microstructure of Cr-rich SS446 ferritic stainless steel produced by L-PBF by microscopical and crystallographic techniques. The properties were compared to the conventionally produced tubes. The rapid cooling and reheating during the application of the subsequent powder layers during L-PBF introduces an intriguing microstructure consisting of a ferritic matrix with precipitation of austenite showing a Kurdjumov–Sachs orientation relationship. Characteristic dislocation networks were observed in the L-PBF samples and contributed to the good mechanical properties in the as-built state (more than twice the yield strength of the conventionally produced tube). Furthermore, the creep resistance at 800 °C was superior to the conventionally produced component, suggesting that L-PBF-produced SS446 possesses many advantages regarding production as compared to the conventional route.

Summary: The neuropeptide VGF was recently proposed as a neurodegeneration biomarker. The Parkinson’s disease-related protein leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) regulates endolysosomal dynamics, a process that involves SNARE-mediated membrane fusion and could regulate secretion. Here we investigate potential biochemical and functional links between LRRK2 and v-SNAREs. We find that LRRK2 directly interacts with the v-SNAREs VAMP4 and VAMP7. Secretomics reveals VGF secretory defects in VAMP4 and VAMP7 knockout (KO) neuronal cells. In contrast, VAMP2 KO “regulated secretion-null” and ATG5 KO “autophagy-null” cells release more VGF. VGF is partially associated with extracellular vesicles and LAMP1+ endolysosomes. LRRK2 expression increases VGF perinuclear localization and impairs its secretion. Retention using selective hooks (RUSH) assays show that a pool of VGF traffics through VAMP4+ and VAMP7+ compartments, and LRRK2 expression delays its transport to the cell periphery. Overexpression of LRRK2 or VAMP7-longin domain impairs VGF peripheral localization in primary cultured neurons. Altogether, our results suggest that LRRK2 might regulate VGF secretion via interaction with VAMP4 and VAMP7.

During the course of evolution, organisms have developed genetic mechanisms in response to various environmental stresses including wounding from mechanical damage or herbivory-caused injury. A previous study of wounding response in the plant tobacco identified a unique wound-induced gene, aptly named KED due to its coding for a protein that has an unusually high content of amino acids lysine (K), glutamic acid (E) and aspartic acid (D). However, by far little is known about this intriguing gene. In this study, we investigated the evolutionary aspects of the KED-rich coding genes. We found that a consistent pattern of wound-induced KED gene expression is maintained across representative species of angiosperm and gymnosperm. KED genes can be identified in species from all groups of land plants (Embryophyta). All the KED proteins from vascular plants (Tracheophyta) including angiosperm, gymnosperm, fern and lycophyte share a conserved 19-amino acid domain near the C-terminus, whereas bryophytes (moss, liverwort and hornwort) possess KED-rich, multi-direct-repeat sequences that are distinct from the vascular plant KEDs. We detected KED-rich sequences in Charophyta species but not in Chlorophyta wherever genome sequences are available. Our studies suggest diverse and complex evolution pathways for land plant KED genes. Vascular plant KEDs exhibit high evolutionary conservation, implicating their shared function in response to wounding stress. The extraordinary enrichment of amino acids K, E and D in these groups of distinct and widely distributed proteins may reflect the structural and functional requirement for these three residues during some 600 million years of land plant evolution.

Abstract In this account, we present an overview of existing and emerging olefin production technologies, comparing them from the standpoint of carbon intensity, efficiency, feedstock type and availability. Olefins are indispensable feedstock for manufacture of polyolefin plastics and other base chemicals. Current methods of olefin production are associated with significant CO2 emissions and almost entirely rely of fossil feedstock. In order to assess potential alternatives, technical and economic maturity of six principal olefin production routes are compared in this paper. Coal (brown), oil and gas (grey), biomass (green), recycled plastic (pink) as well as carbon capture and storage (purple) and carbon capture and utilization (blue) technologies are considered. We conclude that broader adoption of biomass based “green” feedstock and introduction of recycled plastic based olefins may lead to reduced carbon footprint, however adoption of best available technologies and introduction of electrocracking to existing fossil-based “grey” olefin manufacture process can be the way to achieve highest impact most rapidly. Adoption of Power-to-X approaches to olefins starting from biogenic or atmospheric CO2 and renewable H2 can lead to ultimately carbon–neutral “blue” olefins in the long term, however substantial development and additional regulatory incentives are necessary to make the solution economically viable. Article highlights In this account, we introduce a color coding scheme to differentiate and compare carbon intensity and feedstock types for some of the main commercial and emerging olefin production routes. Most viable short term improvements in CO2 emissions of olefin production will be achieved by discouraging “brown” coal based production and improving efficiency of “grey” oil and gas based processes. Gradual incorporation of green and recycled feedstock to existing olefin production assets will allow to achieve substantial improvements in carbon efficiency in longer term.

La mosca blanca (Bemisia tabaco, especie de hemíptero esternorrinco de la familia Aleyrodidae) y los geminivirus son los principales agentes de daño fitosanitarios severos para los productores de tomate (Solanum lycopersicum L.), en el municipio de Estelí. Esta plaga provoca grandes pérdidas económicas, ha disminuido los rendimientos y afecta la calidad de los frutos, lo cual incurre en mayores costos de producción. Con base en esta problemática, en el municipio de Estelí se realizó un estudio cuantitativo del tipo experimental, del 08 de octubre al 11 de diciembre 2018, con el objetivo de evaluar alternativas químicas y botánicas para el manejo del complejo mosca blanca-Geminivirus, para esto se estableció un experimento usando un diseño de bloques completos al azar (BCA), con seis tratamientos; T1. Evisect®, T2. Epingle®, T3. Kabonim®, T4. Savon®, T5. Quamar/Bioquamar® y T6. Testigo (agua), en este estudio se empleó la variedad Orna, las variables que se evaluaron fueron: número de Bemisia tabaci por planta, incidencia y severidad de virosis, rendimiento de tomate en kg/ha¹ de los tratamientos evaluados, análisis económico (parcial). De acuerdo a los resultados, los tratamientos que presentaron menor porcentaje de daño de Bemisia tabaci por planta fueron: Savon®, Epingle®, con respecto a incidencia y severidad de virosis, los tratamientos con mejores resultados fueron: Savon®, Quamar® y Kabonim®. El análisis económico (parcial) realizado determinó que los mejores rendimientos fueron Epingle® con 44,057.77 kg/ ha¹ y Kabonim® con 34,469.70 kg/ha¹.

The importance of creating global mindedness within pre-service agricultural science teachers through international experiences cannot be overstated. However, providing opportunities for international experiences and college students selecting to participate in these opportunities are two very different actions. Mechanisms must be put in place that can impact behavior and motivate participation. The theoretical framework for this study was based on the theory of planned behavior and motivation. Understanding why students do or do not participate in international experiences allows the development of programs to meet the targeted needs of students. The purpose of this descriptive study was to investigate pre-service agricultural science teachers' perspectives of and motivation for international experiences in order to facilitate the development of effective international experiences. The methodology employed mixed methods that included both an online survey and interviews. The total population consisted of 39 college students of whom 31 completed the online survey and of these seven were interviewed. Findings revealed a preference for travel to a developed country as a group as well as the importance of hands-on activities and advance planning. The data provides suggestions for program planning and program preferences for college students preparing to be agricultural science teachers.

This study assesses the contribution of Landsat 7 ETM + and Landsat 8 OLI images to observe existing fractures and faults of at least 12 km in length around the lakes Nyos, Monoun and Oku whose are three major crater lakes in the Cameroon Volcanic Line (CVL) environment. The results obtained using principal component analysis, directional filters and linear densities show many similarities and some differences. In fact, Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI images present 427 lineaments in common, including all known geological linear structures, certain geophysical lineaments and some new fractures. This proves that the area is much more fractured than previously known and that only the environments of lakes Nyos and Monoun are crossed by faults and fractures. Apart from the similarities, the differences observed relate to the lineaments specific to each image, their main direction, their length and the values ​​of the fracturing densities. Also, the results show that the Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI images are suitable for the structural research in the CVL environment. But, the Landsat 8 OLI images are more efficient as they have made it possible to reconstitute almost all known geological structures and their lengths.

This paper proposes a text-mining framework to systematically identify vanishing or newly formed topics in highly interdisciplinary and diverse fields like cognitive science. We apply topic modeling via non-negative matrix factorization to cognitive science publications before and after 2012; this allows us to study how the field has changed since the revival of neural networks in the neighboring field of AI/ML. Our proposed method represents the two distinct sets of topics in an interpretable, common vector space, and uses an entropy-based measure to quantify topical shifts. Case studies on vanishing (e.g., connectionist/symbolic AI debate) and newly emerged (e.g., art and technology) topics are presented. Our framework can be applied to any field or any historical event considered to mark a major shift in thought. Such findings can help lead to more efficient and impactful scientific discoveries.

Powder based metal additive manufacturing processes like Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam utilize gas atomized metal powders as feedstock material. Typically, for nickel-based alloys such as Alloy 625, argon gas is used during the atomization process. Considering the larger environmental impact of argon gas compared to nitrogen gas, and the increasing use of gas atomized metal powders, the environmental impact of powder based additive manufacturing techniques could be mitigated if gas atomization of alloys such as Alloy 625 using nitrogen was possible. This work investigates the feasibility of tailoring an alloy to allow atomization using nitrogen gas while remaining within the Alloy 625 specification. This is achieved by limiting the nitrogen pick-up during the atomization process, primarily by reducing the titanium content. The metallurgical implications of this tailored alloy and the subsequent atomization using nitrogen, as well as the attained microstructure from the Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam process is investigated and compared to a more common 625 alloy composition which was atomized using argon. Furthermore, the microstructural development of the alloys after heat treatments are evaluated. Lastly corrosive properties, as well as tensile and impact properties are evaluated both in the as-built and hot isostatic pressed condition.

Bali is an island situated among the Indonesian archipelago with huge potential to host mangrove forests. Using remote sensing technology advances, satellite images, such as Landsat images, might be employed to analyse mangrove forest distribution and density. This paper presents an analysis of mangrove distribution in Badung Regency and Denpasar City, Bali, as a basis for the management and conservation of mangrove ecosystems. This study used Landsat 8 OLI images and a vegetation index to analyse the mangrove forest distribution and density in this area. It started by identifying mangrove forests using the RGB 564 band and continued to distinguish between mangrove and non-mangrove objects using unsupervised classification, before analysing mangrove density using the NDVI formula. The results show that the mangrove forest area in 2020 was 1,269.20 ha, with an accuracy rate of 83%. Mangroves were found on the deepest or most curved coastline of the Benoa Bay area, on enclosed waters. This distribution follows the river network in the lower reach, which has thick deposits and is uninfluenced by large currents and waves. Based on the vegetation index analysis results, the mangrove forest area observed mainly had a moderate density, with a total area of 510.85 ha (40%), followed by high density (413.15 ha/ 33%) and low density (340.51 ha/ 27%).

BackgroundOne of the preferences working in the Generation Z is based on their motivational work values. The relevance of job choices with the work values will contribute to student career planning. The work value instrument among generations is one of the popular instruments used to measure final year students' work value, yet few studies of the psychometric properties of non-English language versions of this instrument. This study's objectives were to adapt a questionnaire of work value in Indonesian final year university students.MethodsThe number of participants in this study was 316 students in Indonesia, comprised of final year students from various majors who were selected by quota sampling. The instrument consisted of 5 dimensions of value, including leisure, extrinsic rewards, intrinsic rewards, altruistic rewards, and social rewards. The reliability analysis was performed using McDonald's Omega, the evidence of validity was obtained from test content, internal structure through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and evidence-based in relation to other variable has conducted the correlation between work value and career development learning using the Pearson's correlation coefficient.ResultsThe results showed that the work values instrument had good psychometric properties, including good reliability, good content validity, and internal structure. In CFA, the two-factor structure showed satisfactory model fit. Moreover, the correlation of work value with career development learning builds stronger validity evidence on this instrument.ConclusionThe adapted instrument can be used practically to identify work value preferences of final year students to help them choose a work preference and setup the career planning before graduating. The result could be of interest for the researcher in work value, motivational work, and career areas in higher education. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no reports about the adaptation of work value instruments in Indonesian final year university students.
