Abstract Recently, El-Deeb and Cotîrlă (Mathematics 11:11234834, 2023) used the error function together with a q-convolution to introduce a new operator. Abstract The aim of this paper is to introduce two new subclasses R sin m ( ℑ ) $\mathcal{R}_{\sin }^{m}(\Im )$ and R sin ( ℑ ) $\mathcal{R}_{\sin }(\Im )$ of analytic functions by making use of subordination involving the sine function and the modified sigmoid activation function ℑ ( v ) = 2 1 + e − v $\Im (v)=\frac{2}{1+e^{-v}}$ , v ≥ 0 $v\geq 0$ in the open unit disc E. Our purpose is to obtain some initial coefficients, Fekete–Szego problems, and upper bounds for the third- and fourth-order Hankel determinants for the functions belonging to these two classes. All the bounds that we will find here are sharp. We also highlight some known consequences of our main results.

This paper considers the construction of a family of discrete distributions with the flexibility to cater for under-, equi- and over-dispersion in count data using a finite mixture model based on standard distributions. We are motivated to introduce this family because its simple finite mixture structure adds flexibility and facilitates application and use in analysis. The family of distributions is exemplified using a mixture of negative binomial and shifted negative binomial distributions. Some basic and probabilistic properties are derived. We perform hypothesis testing for equi-dispersion and simulation studies of their power and consider parameter estimation via maximum likelihood and probability-generating-function-based methods. The utility of the distributions is illustrated via their application to real biological data sets exhibiting under-, equi- and over-dispersion. It is shown that the distribution fits better than the well-known generalized Poisson and COM–Poisson distributions for handling under-, equi- and over-dispersion in count data.

In this work, we study some new applications of symmetric quantum calculus in the field of Geometric Function Theory. We use the cardioid domain and the symmetric quantum difference operator to generate new classes of multivalent q-starlike and q-convex functions. We examine a wide range of interesting properties for functions that can be classified into these newly defined classes, such as estimates for the bounds for the first two coefficients, Fekete–Szego-type functional and coefficient inequalities. All the results found in this research are sharp. A number of well-known corollaries are additionally taken into consideration to show how the findings of this research relate to those of earlier studies.

In this article, we first define and then propose to systematically study some new subclasses of the class of analytic and bi-concave functions in the open unit disk. For this purpose, we make use of a combination of the binomial series and the confluent hypergeometric function. Among some other properties and results, we derive the estimates on the initial Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients |a2| and |a3| for functions in these analytic and bi-concave function classes, which are introduced in this paper. We also derive a number of corollaries and consequences of our main results in this paper.

A hybrid efficient and highly accurate spectral matrix technique is adapted for numerical treatments of a class of two-pint boundary value problems (BVPs) with singularity and strong nonlinearity. The underlying model is a reaction-diffusion equation arising in the modeling of biomedical, chemical, and physical applications based on the assumptions of Michaelis–Menten kinetics for enzymatic reactions. The manuscript presents a highly computational spectral collocation algorithm for the model combined with the quasilinearization method (QLM) to make the proposed technique more efficient than the corresponding direct spectral collocation algorithm. A novel class of polynomials introduced by S.K. Chatterjea is used in the spectral method. A detailed proof of the convergence analysis of the Chatterjea polynomials (ChPs) is given in the L2 norm. Different numerical examples for substrate concentrations with all values of parameters are performed for the case of planar and spherical shapes of enzymes. For validation, these results are compared with those obtained via wavelet-based procedures and the Adomian decomposition scheme. To further improve the approximate solutions obtained by the QLM–ChPs method, the technique of error correction is introduced and applied based on the concept of residual error function. Overall, the presented results with exponential convergence indicate that the QLM–ChPs algorithm is simple and flexible enough to be applicable in solving many similar problems in science and engineering.

In this paper, we first modify one of the most famous theorems on the principle of differential subordination to hold true for normalized analytic functions with a fixed initial Taylor-Maclaurin coefficient. By using this modified form, we generalize and improve several results, which appeared recently in the literature on the geometric function theory of complex analysis. We also prove some simple conditions for starlikeness, convexity, and the strong starlikeness of several one-parameter families of integral operators, including (for example) a certain μ-convex integral operator and the familiar Bernardi integral operator.

In this paper, we analyze the convergence problems of function g of Fourier series in Besov and generalized Zygmund norms using generalized Nörlund-Matrix (Np,qA) means of Fourier series. Convergence results are also compared by means of applications.

In this paper, we apply the well-known aggregation mappings on Mittag-Leffler-type functions to investigating new approximation error estimates of a W-Hilfer fractional differential equation, by a different concept of Ulam-type stability in both bounded and unbounded domains.

The main goal of this article is first to introduce a new generalization of the fractional integral operators with a certain modified Mittag-Leffler kernel and then investigate the Chebyshev inequality via this general family of fractional integral operators. We improve our results and we investigate the Chebyshev inequality for more than two functions. We also derive some inequalities of this type for functions whose derivatives are bounded above and bounded below. In addition, we establish an estimate for the Chebyshev functional by using the new fractional integral operators. Finally, we find similar inequalities for some specialized fractional integrals keeping some of the earlier results in view.

The potential for widespread applications of the geometric and mapping properties of functions of a complex variable has motivated this article. On the other hand, the basic or quantum (or q-) derivatives and the basic or quantum (or q-) integrals are extensively applied in many different areas of the mathematical, physical and engineering sciences. Here, in this article, we first apply the q-calculus in order to introduce the q-derivative operator Sη,p,qn,m. Secondly, by means of this q-derivative operator, we define an interesting subclass Tℵλ,pn,m(η,α,κ) of the class of normalized analytic and multivalent (or p-valent) functions in the open unit disk U. This p-valent analytic function class is associated with the class κ-UCV of κ-uniformly convex functions and the class κ-UST of κ-uniformly starlike functions in U. For functions belonging to the normalized analytic and multivalent (or p-valent) function class Tℵλ,pn,m(η,α,κ), we then investigate such properties as those involving (for example) the coefficient bounds, distortion results, convex linear combinations, and the radii of starlikeness, convexity and close-to-convexity. We also consider a number of corollaries and consequences of the main findings, which we derived herein.

In this article, we apply a new class of fuzzy control functions to approximate a Cauchy additive mapping in fuzzy Banach space (FBS). Further, considering the unital FBS (UFBS), we will investigate the isomorphisms defined in this space. By introducing several specific functions and choosing the optimal control function from among these functions, we evaluate the Cauchy–Optimal stability (C–O-stability) for all defined mappings.

To avoid the undesired angular expansion of the sampling grid in the discrete non-isotropic Stockwell transform, in this communication we propose a scale-dependent discretization scheme that controls both the radial and angular expansions in unison. Based on the new discretization scheme, we derive a sufficient condition for the construction of Stockwell frames in L2(R2).

A certain discrete probability distribution was considered in [“A discrete probability distribution and some applications”, Mediterr. J. Math., 2023]. Its basic properties were investigated and some applications were presented. We now embed this distribution into a family of discrete distributions depending on two parameters and investigate the properties of the new distributions.

The Hilbert transform is a commonly used linear operator that separates the real and imaginary parts of an analytic signal and is employed in various fields, such as filter design, signal processing, and communication theory. However, it falls short in representing signals in generalized domains. To address this limitation, we propose a novel integral transform, coined the quadratic-phase Hilbert transform. The preliminary study encompasses the formulation of all the fundamental properties of the generalized Hilbert transform. Additionally, we examine the relationship between the quadratic-phase Fourier transform and the proposed transform, and delve into the convolution theorem for the quadratic-phase Hilbert transform. The Bedrosian theorem associated with the quadratic-phase Hilbert transform is explored in detail. The validity and accuracy of the obtained results were verified through simulations.

In this manuscript, we find the numerical solutions of a class of fractional-order differential equations with singularity and strong nonlinearity pertaining to electrohydrodynamic flow in a circular cylindrical conduit. The nonlinearity of the underlying model is removed by the quasilinearization method (QLM) and we obtain a family of linearized equations. By making use of the generalized shifted airfoil polynomials of the second kind (SAPSK) together with some appropriate collocation points as the roots of SAPSK, we arrive at an algebraic system of linear equations to be solved in an iterative manner. The error analysis and convergence properties of the SAPSK are established in the L2 and L∞ norms. Through numerical simulations, it is shown that the proposed hybrid QLM-SAPSK approach is not only capable of tackling the inherit singularity at the origin, but also produces effective numerical solutions to the model problem with different nonlinearity parameters and two fractional order derivatives. The accuracy of the present technique is checked via the technique of residual error functions. The QLM-SAPSK technique is simple and efficient for solving the underlying electrohydrodynamic flow model. The computational outcomes are accurate in comparison with those of numerical values reported in the literature.

In the present investigation, our main aim is to give lower bounds for the ratio of some normalized q-Mittag-Leffler function and their sequences of partial sums. We consider various corollaries and consequences of our main results.

In this paper, we first introduce a linear integral operator ℑp(a,c,μ)(μ>0;a,c∈R;c>a>−μp;p∈N+:={1,2,3,…}), which is somewhat related to a rather specialized form of the Riemann–Liouville fractional integral operator and its varied form known as the Erdélyi–Kober fractional integral operator. We then derive some differential subordination and differential superordination results for analytic and multivalent functions in the open unit disk U, which are associated with the above-mentioned linear integral operator ℑp(a,c,μ). The results presented here are obtained by investigating appropriate classes of admissible functions. We also obtain some Sandwich-type results.

The discrete Fourier transform is considered as one of the most powerful tools in digital signal processing, which enable us to find the spectrum of finite-duration signals. In this article, we introduce the notion of discrete quadratic-phase Fourier transform, which encompasses a wider class of discrete Fourier transforms, including classical discrete Fourier transform, discrete fractional Fourier transform, discrete linear canonical transform, discrete Fresnal transform, and so on. To begin with, we examine the fundamental aspects of the discrete quadratic-phase Fourier transform, including the formulation of Parseval’s and reconstruction formulae. To extend the scope of the present study, we establish weighted and non-weighted convolution and correlation structures associated with the discrete quadratic-phase Fourier transform.

Wavelet transform is a powerful tool for analysing the problems arising in harmonic analysis, signal and image processing, sampling, filtering, and so on. However, they seem to be inadequate for representing those signals whose energy is not well concentrated in the frequency domain. In pursuit of representations of such signals, we propose a novel time-frequency transform coined as quadratic-phase wave packet transform in L2(R). The proposed transform is aimed at rectifying the conventional wavelet transform by employing a quadratic-phase Fourier transform with extra degrees of freedom. Besides the formulation of all the fundamental results, including the orthogonality relation, reconstruction formula and the characterization of range, we also derive a direct relationship between the well-known Wigner-Ville distribution and the proposed transform. In addition, we study the quadratic-phase wave-packet transform in the framework of almost periodic functions. Finally, we extend the scope of the present work by investigating the composition of quadratic-phase wave packet transforms.

In the present paper, we aimed to discuss certain coefficient-related problems for the inverse functions associated with a bounded turning functions class subordinated with the exponential function. We calculated the bounds of some initial coefficients, the Fekete–Szegö-type inequality, and the estimation of Hankel determinants of second and third order. All of these bounds were proven to be sharp.

In this paper, we investigate the existence and multiplicity of solutions for a class of quasi-linear problems involving fractional differential equations in the χ-fractional space Hκ(x)γ,β;χ(Δ). Using the Genus Theory, the Concentration-Compactness Principle, and the Mountain Pass Theorem, we show that under certain suitable assumptions the considered problem has at least k pairs of non-trivial solutions.

A system of generalized fuzzy random differential equations with boundary conditions is investigated, which is a fuzzy version of a system of general random differential equations. We first present random fixed point (RFP) theorems in fuzzy metric space (FM). In the sequel, we define the operators that are of integral type. Furthermore, these operators are related to a part of random differential equations (RDE). For the desired system with boundary conditions, we study the suitable integral operators associated with a large family of random differential equations. Finally, we prove the existence of a unique random solution (EURS).

We propose and study a Susceptible-Infected-Confined-Recovered (SICR) epidemic model. For the proposed model, the driving forces include (for example) the Brownian motion processes and the jump Lévy noise. Usually, in the existing literature involving epidemiology models, the Lévy noise perturbations are ignored. However, in view of the presence of strong fluctuations in the SICR dynamics, it is worth including these perturbations in SICR epidemic models. Quite frequently, this results in several discontinuities in the processes under investigation. In our present study, we consider our SICR model after justifying its used form, namely, the component related to the Lévy noise. The existence and uniqueness of a global positive solution is established. Under some assumptions, we show the extinction and the persistence of the infection. In order to give some numerical simulations, we illustrate a new numerical method to validate our theoretical findings.

In this paper, we present a systematic study of the various characteristics and properties of some continuous and discrete fractional Bessel wavelet transforms. The method is based upon the theory of the fractional Hankel transform.

In this paper, we establish new generalizations of the Hermite-Hadamard-type inequalities. These inequalities are formulated in terms of modules of certain powers of proper functions. Generalizations for convex functions are also considered. As applications, some new inequalities for the digamma function in terms of the trigamma function and some inequalities involving special means of real numbers are given. The results also include estimates via arithmetic, geometric and logarithmic means. The examples are derived in order to demonstrate that some of our results in this paper are more exact than the existing ones and some improve several known results available in the literature. The constants in the derived inequalities are calculated; some of these constants are sharp. As a visual example, graphs of some technically important functions are included in the text.

The present study is the first of its kind, aiming to explore the interface between the ridgelet and linear canonical transforms. To begin with, we formulate a family of linear canonical ridgelet waveforms by suitably chirping a one-dimensional wavelet along a specific direction. The construction of novel ridgelet waveforms is demonstrated via a suitable example supported by vivid graphics. Subsequently, we introduce the notion of linear canonical ridgelet transform, which not only embodies the classical ridgelet transform but also yields another new variant of the ridgelet transform based on the fractional Fourier transform. Besides studying all the fundamental properties, we also present an illustrative example on the implementation of the linear canonical ridgelet transform on a bivariate function.

This paper is devoted to establishing some functional generalizations of Hölder and reverse Hölder’s inequalities with local fractional integral introduced by Yang. Then, based on the obtained results, we derive some related inequalities including local fractional integral Minkowski-type and Dresher-type inequalities, which are some extensions of several existing local fractional integral inequalities.

In this research study, a novel computational algorithm for solving a second-order singular functional differential equation as a generalization of the well-known Lane–Emden and differential-difference equations is presented by using the Bessel bases. This technique depends on transforming the problem into a system of algebraic equations and by solving this system the unknown Bessel coefficients are determined and the solution will be known. The method is tested on several test examples and proves to provide accurate results as compared to other existing methods from the literature. The simplicity and robustness of the proposed technique drive us to investigate more of their applications to several similar problems in the future.

The main objective of this paper is to introduce and study the numerical solutions of the multi-space fractal-fractional Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation (MSFFKS) and the multi-space fractal-fractional Korteweg-de Vries equation (MSFFKDV). These models are obtained by replacing the classical derivative by the fractal-fractional derivative based upon the generalized Mittag-Leffler kernel. In our investigation, we use the spectral collocation method (SCM) involving the shifted Legendre polynomials (SLPs) in order to reduce the new models to a system of algebraic equations. We then use one of the known numerical methods, the Newton-Raphson method (NRM), for solving the resulting system of the nonlinear algebraic equations. The efficiency and accuracy of the numerical results are validated by calculating the absolute error as well as the residual error. We also present several illustrative examples and graphical representations for the various results which we have derived in this paper.

In this paper, we apply a general family of basic (or q-) polynomials with double q-binomial coefficients as well as some homogeneous q-operators in order to construct several q-difference equations involving seven variables. We derive the Rogers type and the extended Rogers type formulas as well as the Srivastava-Agarwal-type bilinear generating functions for the general q-polynomials, which generalize the generating functions for the Cigler polynomials. We also derive a class of mixed generating functions by means of the aforementioned q-difference equations. The various results, which we have derived in this paper, are new and sufficiently general in character. Moreover, the generating functions presented here are potentially applicable not only in the study of the general q-polynomials, which they have generated, but indeed also in finding solutions of the associated q-difference equations. Finally, we remark that it will be a rather trivial and inconsequential exercise to produce the so-called (p,q)-variations of the q-results, which we have investigated here, because the additional forced-in parameter p is obviously redundant.

The main objective of this paper is to establish some sufficient conditions so that a class of normalized Mittag–Leffler-type functions satisfies several geometric properties such as starlikeness, convexity, close-to-convexity, and uniform convexity inside the unit disk. Moreover, pre-starlikeness and k-uniform convexity are discussed for these functions. Some sufficient conditions are also derived so that these functions belong to the Hardy spaces Hp and H∞. Furthermore, the inclusion properties of some modified Mittag–Leffler-type functions are discussed. The various results, which are established in this paper, are presumably new, and their importance is illustrated by several interesting consequences and examples. Some potential directions for analogous further research on the subject of the present investigation are indicated in the concluding section.

In this article, we introduce a new class of multivalent analytic functions associated with petal-shape region. Furthermore, some useful properties, such as the Fekete–Szegö inequality, and their consequences for some special cases are discussed. For some specific value of function f, we obtain sufficient conditions for multivalent starlike functions connected with petal-shape domain. Finally, in the concluding section, we draw the attention of the interested readers toward the prospect of studying the basic or quantum (or q-) generalizations of the results, which are presented in this paper. However, the (p,q)-variations of the suggested q-results will provide a relatively minor and inconsequential development because the additional (rather forced-in) parameter p is obviously redundant.

The goal of this article is to establish several new formulas and new results related to the Marichev-Saigo-Maeda fractional integral and fractional derivative operators which are applied on the (p,q)-extended Bessel function. The results are expressed as the Hadamard product of the (p,q)-extended Gauss hypergeometric function Fp,q and the Fox-Wright function rΨs(z). Some special cases of our main results are considered. Furthermore, the (p,q)-extended Bessel-Wright function is introduced. Finally, a variety of formulas for the Marichev-Saigo-Maeda fractional integral and derivative operators involving the (p,q)-extended Bessel-Wright function is established.

This study aims to achieve an efficient time-frequency representation of higher-dimensional signals by introducing the notion of a non-separable linear canonical wavelet transform in L2(Rn). The preliminary analysis encompasses the derivation of fundamental properties of the novel integral transform including the orthogonality relation, inversion formula, and the range theorem. To extend the scope of the study, we formulate several uncertainty inequalities, including the Heisenberg’s, logarithmic, and Nazorav’s inequalities for the proposed transform in the linear canonical domain. The obtained results are reinforced with illustrative examples.

The ultimate goal of this study is to develop a numerically effective approximation technique to acquire numerical solutions of the integer and fractional-order Bratu and the singular Lane–Emden-type problems especially with exponential nonlinearity. Both the initial and boundary conditions were considered and the fractional derivative being considered in the Liouville–Caputo sense. In the direct approach, the generalized Bessel matrix method based on collocation points was utilized to convert the model problems into a nonlinear fundamental matrix equation. Then, the technique of quasilinearization was employed to tackle the nonlinearity that arose in our considered model problems. Consequently, the quasilinearization method was utilized to transform the original nonlinear problems into a sequence of linear equations, while the generalized Bessel collocation scheme was employed to solve the resulting linear equations iteratively. In particular, to convert the Neumann initial or boundary condition into a matrix form, a fast algorithm for computing the derivative of the basis functions is presented. The error analysis of the quasilinear approach is also discussed. The effectiveness of the present linearized approach is illustrated through several simulations with some test examples. Comparisons with existing well-known schemes revealed that the presented technique is an easy-to-implement method while being very effective and convenient for the nonlinear Bratu and Lane–Emden equations.

Fractional derivative models involving generalized Mittag-Leffler kernels and opposing models are investigated. We first replace the classical derivative with the GMLK in order to obtain the new fractional-order models (GMLK) with the three parameters that are investigated. We utilize a spectral collocation method based on Legendre’s polynomials for evaluating the numerical solutions of the pr. We then construct a scheme for the fractional-order models by using the spectral method involving the Legendre polynomials. In the first model, we directly obtain a set of nonlinear algebraic equations, which can be approximated by the Newton-Raphson method. For the second model, we also need to use the finite differences method to obtain the set of nonlinear algebraic equations, which are also approximated as in the first model. The accuracy of the results is verified in the first model by comparing it with our analytical solution. In the second and third models, the residual error functions are calculated. In all cases, the results are found to be in agreement. The method is a powerful hybrid technique of numerical and analytical approach that is applicable for partial differential equations with multi-order of fractional derivatives involving GMLK with three parameters.

In this study, we present a link between approximation theory and summability methods by constructing bivariate Bernstein-Kantorovich type operators on an extended domain with reparametrized knots. We use a statistical convergence type and power series method to obtain certain Korovkin type theorems, and we study certain rates of convergences related to these summability methods. Furthermore, we numerically analyze the theoretical results and provide some computer graphics to emphasize the importance of this study.

This paper studies the uniqueness of solutions for several generalized Abel’s integral equations and a related coupled system in Banach spaces. The results derived are new and based on Babenko’s approach, Banach’s contraction principle and the multivariate Mittag–Leffler function. We also present some examples for the illustration of our main theorems.

In this paper, we introduce a new class of harmonic univalent functions with respect to k-symmetric points by using a newly-defined q-analog of the derivative operator for complex harmonic functions. For this harmonic univalent function class, we derive a sufficient condition, a representation theorem, and a distortion theorem. We also apply a generalized q-Bernardi–Libera–Livingston integral operator to examine the closure properties and coefficient bounds. Furthermore, we highlight some known consequences of our main results. In the concluding part of the article, we have finally reiterated the well-demonstrated fact that the results presented in this article can easily be rewritten as the so-called (p,q)-variations by making some straightforward simplifications, and it will be an inconsequential exercise, simply because the additional parameter p is obviously unnecessary.

In this article, by utilizing the theory of quantum (or q-) calculus, we define a new subclass of analytic and multivalent (or p-valent) functions class Ap, where class Ap is invariant (or symmetric) under rotations. The well-known class of Janowski functions are used with the help of the principle of subordination between analytic functions in order to define this subclass of analytic and p-valent functions. This function class generalizes various other subclasses of analytic functions, not only in classical Geometric Function Theory setting, but also some q-analogue of analytic multivalent function classes. We study and investigate some interesting properties such as sufficiency criteria, coefficient bounds, distortion problem, growth theorem, radii of starlikeness and convexity for this newly-defined class. Other properties such as those involving convex combination are also discussed for these functions. In the concluding part of the article, we have finally given the well-demonstrated fact that the results presented in this article can be obtained for the (p,q)-variations, by making some straightforward simplification and will be an inconsequential exercise simply because the additional parameter p is obviously unnecessary.

This paper provides three classes of q-summation formulas in the form of general contiguous extensions of the first q-Kummer summation theorem. Their derivations are presented by using three methods, which are along the lines of the three types of well-known proofs of the q-Kummer summation theorem with a key role of the q-binomial theorem. In addition to the q-binomial theorem, the first proof makes use of Thomae’s q-integral representation and the second proof needs Heine’s transformation. Whereas the third proof utilizes only the q-binomial theorem. Subsequently, the applications of these summation formulas in obtaining the general contiguous extensions of the second and the third q-Kummer summation theorems are also presented. Furthermore, the investigated results are specialized to give many of the known as well as presumably new q-summation theorems, which are contiguous to the three q-Kummer summation theorems. This work is motivated by the observation that the basic (or q-) series and basic (or q-) polynomials, especially the basic (or q-) gamma and q-hypergeometric functions and basic (or q-) hypergeometric polynomials, are applicable particularly in several diverse areas including Number Theory, Theory of Partitions and Combinatorial Analysis as well as in the study of Combinatorial Generating Functions. Just as it is known in the theory of the Gauss, Kummer (or confluent), Clausen and the generalized hypergeometric functions, the parameters in the corresponding basic or quantum (or q-) hypergeometric functions are symmetric in the sense that they remain invariant when the order of the p numerator parameters or when the order of the q denominator parameters is arbitrarily changed. A case has therefore been made for the symmetry possessed not only by hypergeometric functions and basic or quantum (or q-) hypergeometric functions, which are studied in this paper, but also by the symmetric quantum calculus itself.

In this paper, we introduce a new three-step Newton method for solving a system of nonlinear equations. This new method based on Gauss quadrature rule has sixth order of convergence (with n=3). The proposed method solves nonlinear boundary-value problems and integral equations in few iterations with good accuracy. Numerical comparison shows that the new method is remarkably effective for solving systems of nonlinear equations.

Our investigation is motivated essentially by the demonstrated applications of the basic (or q-) series and basic (or q-) polynomials, especially the basic (or q-) hypergeometric functions and basic (or q-) hypergeometric polynomials, in many diverse areas. Here, in this paper, we use two q-operators T(a,b,c,d,e,yDx) and E(a,b,c,d,e,yθx) to derive two potentially useful generalizations of the q-binomial theorem, a set of two extensions of the q-Chu-Vandermonde summation formula and two new generalizations of the Andrews-Askey integral by means of the q-difference equations. We also briefly describe relevant connections of various special cases and consequences of our main results with a number of known results.

The present study aimed to develop and investigate the local discontinuous Galerkin method for the numerical solution of the fractional logistic differential equation, occurring in many biological and social science phenomena. The fractional derivative is described in the sense of Liouville-Caputo. Using the upwind numerical fluxes, the numerical stability of the method is proved in the L∞ norm. With the aid of the shifted Legendre polynomials, the weak form is reduced into a system of the algebraic equations to be solved in each subinterval. Furthermore, to handle the nonlinear term, the technique of product approximation is utilized. The utility of the present discretization technique and some well-known standard schemes is checked through numerical calculations on a range of linear and nonlinear problems with analytical solutions.

In the present investigation, by using certain higher-order q-derivatives, the authors introduce and investigate several new subclasses of the family of multivalent q-starlike functions in the open unit disk. For each of these newly-defined function classes, several interesting properties and characteristics are systematically derived. These properties and characteristics include (for example) distortion theorems and radius problems. A number of coefficient inequalities and a sufficient condition for functions belonging to the subclasses studied here are also discussed. Relevant connections of the various results presented in this investigation with those in earlier works on this subject are also pointed out.

First, by making use of the concept of basic (or q-) calculus, as well as the principle of subordination between analytic functions, generalization Rq(h) of the class R(h) of analytic functions, which are associated with the leaf-like domain in the open unit disk U, is given. Then, the coefficient estimates, the Fekete–Szegö problem, and the second-order Hankel determinant H2(1) for functions belonging to this class Rq(h) are investigated. Furthermore, similar results are examined and presented for the functions zf(z) and f−1(z). For the validity of our results, relevant connections with those in earlier works are also pointed out.

In this paper, we use q-derivative operator to define a new class of q-starlike functions associated with k-Fibonacci numbers. This newly defined class is a subclass of class A of normalized analytic functions, where class A is invariant (or symmetric) under rotations. For this function class we obtain an upper bound of the third Hankel determinant.

In this article, we introduce a general family of analytic and bi-univalent functions in the open unit disk, which is defined by applying the principle of differential subordination between analytic functions and the Tremblay fractional derivative operator. The upper bounds for the general coefficients | a n | of functions in this subclass are found by using the Faber polynomial expansion. We have thereby generalized and improved some of the previously published results.
