Background: Red spider mite, Tetranychus truncatus Ehara (Acari: Tetranychidae) infests many agriculture and horticulture crops in India, but to date it had not been found damaging cultivated groundnut. During 2022-23, the incidence of this species was high in many groundnut growing regions of Tamil Nadu. Identification of the species is highly essential for effective management of the particular pest. Hence, the aim of this research was to identify the mite species infesting groundnut crop and describe the damage caused. Methods: Survey was carried out all over Tamil Nadu and samples of mite infested groundnut leaves were collected from field based on damage symptoms, observed and examined under Stereo zoom microscope, microslides were prepared using Hoyer's medium and taxonomic characters were studied under phase contrast microscope. Molecular analysis was done by genomic DNA isolation, PCR amplification, sequencing and BLAST performed to check the identity with GenBank Sequences. ITS2 primer was used. Result: Red spider mite species, T. truncatus was identified first time in groundnut through both morphological characters and molecular tools. Female: Idiosomal setae longer than the interval between their longitudinal bases and gradually tapers distally. Diamond-shaped pattern of striae between e1 and f1 setal bases. Tarsus I with 4 tactile setae proximal to proximal duplex setae. Male: Aedeagus with tiny terminal knob, apparently truncate with a slight indentation on the dorsal margin. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The mechanical properties of Aluminum Hybrid Matrix Composites (AHMCs) reinforced with Aluminum oxide (AL2O3) particles are investigated in this composition. The matrix material is an aluminum 7075 alloy with Al2O3 particles ranging from 3 to 9 wt percent in increments of 3 wt percent and a set quantity of 3 wt percent alumina. The stir casting technique was used to create the hybrid composites. On the prepared composites, the hardness and tensile characteristics were investigated. The amount of reinforcements increases the tensile strength and hardness of the hybrid composites, according to the findings. Properties and corrosion resistance have been achieved Under optimum conditions, a maximum Young's modulus of over 80 GPa, a maximum hardness of 1.39 GPa, and maximum wear resistance have been achieved. Due to the resistance of Al2O3 particles to corrosion in terms of electrochemical behavior, optimal composites have the lowest thermodynamic corrosion propensity and show higher pitting corrosion resistance. In addition, if the amount of Al2O3 is large, the formation of a continuous protective layer on the surface will be delayed and the corrosion resistance will decrease. The mechanical and wear properties of Al7075 - Al2O3 (3% and 6%) and Al7075 - Al2O3 (6% - 3%) composites are prepared and compared. The composites were made using the stir casting method, with the amount of reinforcement varying from 6 to 12 percent in 3wt% stages. Wearable textile antennas are becoming increasingly significant in today's environment for healthcare and a variety of other applications. As a result of recent downsizing, the use of wearable textile materials for the creation of microstrip antenna segments has been rapid. Wearable textile antennas are being employed more and more in wireless applications. A wearable antenna is intended to be worn as part of communication clothing. Some of the applications include tracking and navigation, mobile computing, and public safety. Wearable antenna materials must have a flat structure and flexible construction. A variety of material properties influence the antenna's characteristics. The bandwidth and efficiency of a planar microstrip antenna, for example, are primarily governed by the ultimate result which is determined by the thickness of the substrate and its permittivity. Textiles are used for a wide range of purposes. It is necessary to characterize the properties of wearable antennas. In this paper, a spear-shaped textile antenna for military application is designed. The proposed antenna is designed to operate at Ku band with a frequency range of 12 - 18 GHz. The microstrip patch antenna uses cotton as the substrate which has dielectric constant εr= 1.6 and tangent loss of 0.04. The spearshaped textile antenna has achieved a gain of 6.85dB and VSWR around 1.03 at the resonant frequency. The size of the designed antenna is 10 mm × 13 mm × 1.6 mm. The radiation characteristics such as return loss, VSWR, radiation pattern, and gain are simulated and presented using CST Suite Studio 2019.
