Abstract

This paper is an improvement from the previous paper which discussed the traffic situation on the Cinunuk-Cileunyi Line (Jalur Cibiru Cileunyi, JCC), also known as Cinunuk street, which located in east of Bandung District, WestJava, Indonesia. This paper discuss about adding features to the simulation model, namely the situation of obstacles for all of T-junction points along the JCC. Through simulation, we analysed the various causes of traffic congestion at JCC. Sometraffic engineering alternatives can be perform to minimize congestion, such as opening and closing the flow of traffic intersections. However, based on the volume increment of vehicles, various traffic engineering that applied at JCC are actually not significantly solve the problem. As the government planned years ago, one of the best alternatives is to builda clear ring circumference (Jalur Lingkar Cileunyi, JLC), as an additional road to solve the traffic congestion to solve or at least to reduce the congestion problem at JCC. 9. Antibacterial activities of seven ethnomedicinal plants from family Annonaceae .

Abstract

Serious threat to human health caused by bacterial infection persists as a global concern. It becomes more serious when the burden of multidrug-resistance bacteria is in the increasing trend. To overcome, researches have been conducted to develop antibacterial agents from plant-derived bioactive compounds. This review article focuses on the antibacterial activities of plant extracts from seven Annonaceae members, namely Annona muricata , Annona reticulata , Annona squamosa , Cananga odorata , Annona hypoglauca , Polyalthia longifolia , and Xylopia aethiopica . First, ethnomedical uses of the aforementioned plants are discussed and followed by the screening results of related phytochemicals. Among many secondary metabolites contained in the extracts of Annonaceae spp., anonaine, nornuciferine, and liriodenine are common and bioactive. The extracts were reported to have bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties against a wide spectrum of bacteria, including multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli , Staphylococcus aureus , Bacillus cereus , Enterococcus faecalis , Enterobacter aerogenes , Enterobacter cloacae , Salmonella choleraesuis , Salmonella typhimurium , and Shigella dysenteriae . 10. The role of aripiprazole in improvement of penile erection in schizophrenia patients with erectile dysfunction.

Abstract

Aim To provide evidence regarding the effectiveness of aripiprazole in improving penile erection with a therapeutic strategy of add-on or switching therapy in patients with schizophrenia. Methods. PubMed, Cochrane, Clinical Key, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, and ScienceDirect were searched for any design study that evaluated aripiprazole only or versus control (placebo or other antipsychotic) for erectile dysfunction in patients with schizophrenia. Three studies were identified and analysed from 295 initial articles. Data were then extracted from the studies and summarized descriptively. Results Two hundred ninety-five articles were screened, and three studies were identified and eventually selected. After the add-on or switching antipsychotic therapy to aripiprazole, the prevalence of erectile dysfunction and the score of erectile dysfunction or penile erection assessed by Nagoya and Sexual Function Questionnaire (NSFQ) and Arizona Sexual Experience Scale (ASEX) decreased. Conclusion Aripiprazole was effective to improve penile erectile function in patients with schizophrenia.
