Abstract

By characterising the time evolution of COVID-19 in term of its "velocity" (log of the new cases per day) and its rate of variation, or "acceleration", we show that in many countries there has been a deceleration even before lockdowns were issued. This feature, possibly due to the increase of social awareness, can be rationalised by a susceptible-hidden-infected-recovered (SHIR) model introduced by Barnes, in which a hidden (isolated from the virus) compartment $H$ is gradually populated by susceptible people, thus reducing the effectiveness of the virus spreading. By introducing a partial hiding mechanism, for instance due to the impossibility for a fraction of the population to enter the hidden state, we obtain a model that, although still sufficiently simple, faithfully reproduces the different deceleration trends observed in several major countries., Comment: v2: published version; more countries analysed

Abstract

The blood‐brain barrier (BBB), which protects the brain from foreign molecules, makes delivery of drugs to the central nervous system is challenging. Nanoparticles (NPs) have been used over the past decade as drug delivery systems for the treatment of many disorders with great results. However, the effectiveness of NPs in delivering drugs to the brain for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) is limited by the BBB. A recent breakthrough in nanotechnology delivery systems involves the use of surface‐modified polymer NPs that enhance drug absorption and transport across the BBB; however, the technology still has some limitations. Studies conducted over the past few years have demonstrated that NPs modified with peptides or proteins can effectively cross the BBB via specific receptors, thus enhancing their delivery efficiency. In this review, we explore the use of polymer NPs combined with peptides and proteins for the treatment of AD and PD. This discussion focuses on the pathophysiology of these diseases, the BBB, and the potential of therapeutics based on co‐modifying NPs with peptides and proteins. Additionally, we outline future directions for the use of polymer NPs conjugated with these biomolecules. The graphical abstract illustrates that drug‐encapsulated polymer nanoparticles are engineered with proteins and peptides to facilitate transport across the blood‐brain barrier through receptor‐mediated transcytosis and delivery of drugs to targeted regions in the brain, thereby offering a more effective treatment for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. Various peptides and proteins are used in drug delivery systems because they are only focused on a small class of receptors, such as low‐density lipid receptors, Fc‐like growth factor receptors, leptin receptors, receptor‐associated proteins, insulin receptors, scavenger receptor type B1, cell surface receptors, and transferrin receptor. Polymers are crucial for drug delivery because they offer a versatile, efficient, and secure method of improving the administration and effectiveness of therapeutic agents. BBB, blood‐brain barrier. Abstract

The Social Internet of Things (SIoT) is an innovative fusion of IoT and smart devices that enable them to establish dynamic relationships. Securing sensitive data in a smart environment requires a model to determine the relationships between devices through object profiling and ontological models. To address this need, we have proposed an ontology-based operational security model for the SIoT. In our approach, the interpolation method is used to establish relationships, while fiduciary relationships are employed to detect threats. Furthermore, the encryption of heterogeneous device data, coupled with the implementation of an operationbased intrusion detection system, proves highly effective in identifying potential threats.Invalid relationships are identified as intruders and validated using machine learning techniques. Encrypting heterogeneous device data, along with an operationbased intrusion detection system, efficiently identifies threats in the ever-evolving dynamic nature of the SIoT environment. the encryption of heterogeneous device data, coupled with an operation-based intrusion detection system, effectively identifies threats. Invalid relationships are promptly identified as attackers and machine learning techniques are used to validate relationships encryption and machine learning stand as indispensable tools in the endeavor to secure sensitive information within the realm of the SIoT. The suggested model outperformed the results of the current model, as evidenced by its average accuracy of 85.67%, precision of 90.37%, recall of 92.06%, and F1-score of 91.03% when compared to the existing model. Abstract

BD-SIIT and DSTM are widely deployed IPv4/IPv6 Transition mechanism to improve the performance of the computer network in terms of Throughput,End to End Delay(EED) and Packet Drop Rate(PDR).In this journal paper we have Implemented and Compared the Performance Issues of our newly proposed Dollops Wise Curtail(DW&C)IPv4/IPv6 Migration Mechanism with BD-SIIT and DSTM in NS2. Implementation and Comparison Performance Analysis between Dollops Wise Curtail,BD-SIIT and DSTM shows that Dollops Wise Curtail IPv4/IPv6 migration algorithm performance outperforms than BD-SIIT and DSTM.Based on extensive simulations,we show that DW&C algorithm reduces the Packet Drop Rate(PDR),End to End Delay(EED) and achieves better Throughput than BD-SIIT and DSTM.In our research work observation,the performance metrics such as Throughput,EED and PLR for DW&C,BD-SIIT and DSTM are measured using TCP,UDP,FTP and CBR Traffics, Comment: 9 pages, International Journal of Engineering Trends and Technology(IJETT),2014

Abstract
