Simple Summary: Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays a critical role in cancer progression, contributing to the invasive and migratory abilities of tumor cells. In this study, we show that FBXO11 promotes the degradation of ZEB1, a key EMT regulator, via ubiquitination. Loss of FBXO11 increases ZEB1 levels, enhancing the invasiveness of lung cancer cells, while its overexpression reduces ZEB1 and suppresses invasion. Importantly, higher FBXO11 expression is associated with better prognosis in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), highlighting its potential role as a therapeutic target for controlling EMT and cancer metastasis. Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) affects the invasion and migration of cancer cells. Here, we show that FBXO11 recognizes and promotes ubiquitin-mediated degradation of ZEB1. There is a strong association between FBXO11 and ZEB1 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSLC) in a clinical database. FBXO11 interacts with ZEB1, a core inducer of EMT. FBXO11 leads to increased ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of ZEB1. Depletion of endogenous FBXO11 causes ZEB1 protein accumulation and EMT in A549 and H1299 cells, while overexpression of FBXO11 reduces ZEB1 protein abundance and cellular invasiveness. Importantly, the depletion of ZEB1 suppresses the increased migration and invasion of A549 and H1299 cells promoted by the depletion of FBXO11. The same results are shown in xenograft tumors. High FBXO11 expression is associated with a favorable prognosis in NSLC. Collectively, our study demonstrates that FBXO11 modulates EMT by mediating the stability of ZEB1 in lung cancer cells. The characteristics of 21 tropical cyclones (TCs) and associated high winds in Shanghai from 2005 to 2020 are analyzed based on the TC best track data, surface observations, and ERA5 reanalysis dataset. Results indicate that 95% of the TCs causing high winds in Shanghai were generated during July to September, and located to the south of Shanghai for ~80% of the impact time. Divided into four categories according to tracks, the TCs show significant discrepancies in genesis month and location, intensity, size, and duration. The findings of high winds in Shanghai highlight the combination effect of TC intensity, track, and the distance between TCs and Shanghai normalized by TC size (NDSH-TC). The maximum 10‐min sustained (Vmax) and extreme 3‐s wind speeds (Vex) in Shanghai only increase slightly with TC intensity, due to the fact that the stronger TCs are usually farther away from Shanghai. The Vmax and Vex differ in response to different TC tracks and reach the maximum value under TCs moving northward across the land west of Shanghai and the sea east of Shanghai, respectively. The urban and coastal wind speeds are the smallest and the largest respectively, indicating that the largest underlying surface roughness is associated with the most rapid urban construction. The wind speeds under the influence of TCs in four quadrants of Shanghai also present different variations with the NDSH-TC. Additionally, the wind direction in Shanghai is regularly related to the relative position between the TC center and Shanghai. A case study combined with TC In‐Fa (2106) verified the validity of the conclusions, which can provide a reference for TC forecasters to make more accurate wind field predictions. Inflammatory responses and neuronal ferroptosis, which are associated with abnormal accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), exert crucial damaging effects on the brain after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). In this study, minocycline (MC)‐loaded cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2‐MC) are constructed for combined ICH treatment. Ultra‐small CeO2 (≈5 nm) synthesized via a high‐temperature approach exhibits powerful free‐radical scavenging and iron‐chelating abilities. In vitro experiments demonstrated that CeO2‐MC effectively attenuated the ROS levels in mouse microglial cells and neurons following oxyhemoglobin stimulation. In addition, CeO2‐MC exhibits iron chelation properties and stabilizes the mitochondrial membrane potential, thereby promoting anti‐inflammatory responses and preventing neuronal ferroptosis. In an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) mouse model, CeO2‐MC exhibited robust free radical scavenging capabilities and demonstrated the ability to preserve mitochondrial morphology and function, mitigate brain edema, and maintain blood–brain barrier integrity by inhibiting neuroinflammation and ferroptosis. Neurobehavioral tests demonstrated that CeO2‐MC significantly ameliorated spatial learning ability and sensorimotor function after ICH. Conventional bone scaffolds, which are mainly ascribed to highly active osteoclasts and an inflammatory microenvironment with high levels of reactive oxygen species and pro-inflammatory factors, barely satisfy osteoporotic defect repair. Herein, multifunctional self-assembled supramolecular fiber hydrogels (Ce–Aln gel) consisting of alendronate (Aln) and cerium (Ce) ions were constructed for osteoporotic bone defect repair. Based on the reversible interaction and polyvalent cerium ions, the Ce–Aln gel, which was mainly composed of ionic coordination and hydrogen bonds, displayed good injectability and autocatalytic amplification of the antioxidant effect. In vitro studies showed that the Ce–Aln gel effectively maintained the biological function of osteoblasts by regulating redox homeostasis and improved the inflammatory microenvironment to enhance the inhibitory effect on osteoclasts. Ribonucleic acid (RNA) sequencing further revealed significant downregulation of various metabolic pathways, including apoptosis signaling, hypoxia metabolism and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) signaling via the nuclear factor kappa-B pathway after treatment with the Ce–Aln gel. In vivo experiments showed that the clinical drug-based Ce–Aln gel effectively promoted the tissue repair of osteoporotic bone defects by improving inflammation and inhibiting osteoclast formation at the defect. BACKGROUND: Plane-wave imaging is widely employed in medical imaging due to its ultra-fast imaging speed. However, the image quality is compromised. Existing techniques to enhance image quality tend to sacrifice the imaging frame rate. OBJECTIVE: The study aims to reconstruct high-quality plane-wave images while maintaining the imaging frame rate. METHODS: The proposed method utilizes a U-Net-based generator incorporating a multi-scale convolution module in the encoder to extract information at different levels. Additionally, a Dynamic Criss-Cross Attention (DCCA) mechanism is proposed in the decoder of the U-Net-based generator to extract both local and global features of plane-wave images while avoiding interference caused by irrelevant regions. RESULTS: In the reconstruction of point targets, the experimental images achieved a reduction in Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM) of 0.0499 mm, compared to the Coherent Plane-Wave Compounding (CPWC) method using 75-beam plane waves. For the reconstruction of cyst targets, the simulated image achieved a 3.78% improvement in Contrast Ratio (CR) compared to CPWC. BACKGROUND: Pulse-inversion-based tissue harmonic imaging has been utilized for many years because it can effectively eliminate the harmonic leakage and produce low side-lobe. However, the pulse inversion method is sensitive to imaging object movements, which may result in motion artifacts. Spatial resolution and contrast were limited. OBJECTIVE: To improve ultrasound image quality by a new pulse-inversion-based tissue harmonic imaging technique. METHODS: Continuous wavelet transform is applied to investigate the correlation between mother wavelet and the received echoes from two opposite pulses. To get a better correlation, a novel mother wavelet named 'tissue wavelet' is designed based on the Khokhlov-Zabolotskaya- Kuznetsov (KZK) wave equation. Radio frequency data were obtained from open Ultrasonix SonixTouch imaging system. Experiments were carried on ultrasonic tissue phantom, human carotid artery and human liver. RESULTS: The average improvement of lateral spatial resolution is 49.52% compared to pulse-inversion-based tissue second-harmonic Imaging (PIHI). Contrast ratio (CR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) increased by 5.55 dB and 1.40 dB over PIHI. Tissue wavelet performs better than Mexh and Morl wavelet in lateral spatial resolution, CR, and CNR.
