In second language learning research, L1-L2 congruency refers to the similarity in form and meaning of the way a word or phrase is said between two languages. If there is low L1-L2 congruency, the learning burden of a word or phrase can be higher, and thus, such items should be focused on more in teaching to help learners avoid errors. For example, an unacceptable structure could be produced when second language learners use direct or literal translation to formulate multiword units (MWUs) in the target language. This study used L1-L2 congruency as a criterion to identify English MWUs with low congruency with their Persian equivalents to create a resource for Persian-speaking English learners. An L1-L2 contrastive analysis was conducted on a list of approximately 11,000 high-frequency MWUs. This list was translated, and the items were given ratings regarding their congruency in Persian. The results revealed that more than 65% of the items examined were incongruent with their word-for-word translations, demonstrating that L1-L2 congruency is a significant factor in selecting MWUs for Persian-speaking English learners. Since focusing on incongruent items may help learners avoid errors, the results of this study can help improve the efficacy of English acquisition by Persian-speaking learners through its identification of particular MWUs that have low congruency between the two languages.

We analyse the joint scheduling of spare parts production and service engineers in a multi-site maintenance system. In the system, for each failure, a service engineer with the required spare part needs to be allocated for on-site maintenance. If one of the required resources is not readily available, the maintenance task can be satisfied via an external channel with quick responsiveness but high involved costs. Service providers need to make an efficient plan, including production scheduling of spare parts, allocation of service engineers and outsourcing strategy. First, a mathematical model with the objectives of minimum total outsourcing costs and minimum weighted tardiness is formulated. Then, a novel and knowledge-based heuristic algorithm is developed, namely progressive Pareto algorithm based on step-size (PPAS). To verify the performance of PPAS, it is compared against other well-known algorithms, including NSGA-II, MOEA/D, NNIA, RIPG, MMOIG and MNNIA. Finally, the effectiveness of the joint scheduling mode is demonstrated by comparing it with the separate optimisation mode of spare parts production and workforce allocation. Federated learning (FL) is widely used in edge‐cloud collaborative training due to its distributed architecture and privacy‐preserving properties without sharing local data. FLTrust, the most state‐of‐the‐art FL defense method, is a federated learning defense system with trust guidance. However, we found that FLTrust is not very robust. Therefore, in the edge collaboration scenario, we mainly study the poisoning attack on the FLTrust defense system. Due to the aggregation rule, FLTrust, with trust guidance, the model updates of participants with a significant deviation from the root gradient direction will be eliminated, which makes the poisoning effect on the global model not obvious. To solve this problem, under the premise of not being deleted by the FLTrust aggregation rules, we construct malicious model updates that deviate from the trust gradient to the greatest extent to achieve model poisoning attacks. First, we utilize the rotation of high‐dimensional vectors around axes to construct malicious vectors with fixed orientations. Second, the malicious vector is constructed by the gradient inversion method to achieve an efficient and fast attack. Finally, a method of optimizing random noise is used to construct a malicious vector with a fixed direction. Experimental results show that our attack method reduces the model accuracy by 20%, severely undermining the usability of the model. Fluid conduits play important roles in the dynamic evolution processes of marine gas hydrate systems (GHS), but detailed analysis of these specific roles has been inadequate. In this paper, various types of gas hydrate-related fluid conduits are analysed by examining abundant global case studies mainly using seismic data, and the interaction of these fluid conduits with the GHS is analysed. Results show that faults and gas chimneys are the most common fluid conduits, accounting for ~80% of the analysed GHS-related conduits. Other fluid conduits include permeable dipping strata, polygonal faults, mud/salt diapirs, mud volcanoes, and unconformity surfaces. Two groups of fluid conduits can be classified according to their roles for the GHS. Group 1 fluid conduits mainly exist underneath the GHS which transported deeper gas upwards to the GHS, providing gas source to form gas hydrates or the underlying free gas zone (FGZ). Group 2 fluid conduits are less in quantity compared to group 1, accounting for ~28% of the analysed conduits and often located at shallower depth within the GHS. When the FGZ is critically pressured due to the continuous accumulation of free gas or gas hydrates dissociate, group 2 fluid conduits may be triggered or reactivated, channelling free gas to the shallower layers or even the seabed. Group 1 fluid conduits mainly play a positive role in the formation of the GHS, while group 2 fluid conduits may play a role in affecting the seabed ecosystem or even climate change due to the gas escape to the seabed or even the sea water. Generally, this classification method can help better understand the roles of fluid conduits for the GHS, which should be widely applicable in other gas hydrate study areas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Growing cultural and linguistic diversity globally is increasingly requiring speech pathologists to provide effective and equitable aphasia rehabilitation to clients with whom they do not share a language. Little is known about how rehabilitation is being adapted and provided when a language mismatch arises between the therapist and the client. This scoping review aims to systematically map the evidence related to aphasia rehabilitation when the speech pathologist and the client do not share a language. A comprehensive search was conducted in September 2020. Twenty studies comprising surveys and/or interviews and descriptive publications were reviewed. Speech pathologists frequently report a lack of confidence, skill, and preparation to work with culturally and linguistically diverse clients with aphasia. Furthermore, there is a shortage of published evidence, guidelines, resources, and access to interpreters to support their practice. Further research is needed into aphasia rehabilitation when there is no shared language between client and speech pathologist, with particular attention to the therapy approach selected and adaptations required for the target language and culture. Information is needed concerning how the speech pathologist and interpreter work together, as well as the experiences of interpreters and people with aphasia and their families. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
