Abstract [Objective] The transcription factor ERF has various biological functions, and plays important roles in regulating plant growth, development and responding to stress. Previous studies have shown that SmERF1 from Salvia miltiorrhiza was involved in plant response to stress. This study aimed to further elucidate the potential function of SmERF1 and lay a foundation for the study of resistance and seed development of medicinal plants. [Methods] SmERF1 was heterologously expressed in the model plant tobacco mediated by Agrobacterium tumefaciens in this study. The resistance of transgenic plants was evaluated through determining the plant resistance-related enzyme activities. The levels of hormones such as GA and ABA were analyzed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, and the expression of key enzyme genes involved in hormone biosynthesis were detected with qPCR methods. [Results] (1) SmERF1-expressing tobacco plants showed slower growth, less biomass, and decrease in chlorophyll at the seedling stage, with no significant difference in other growth stages. In addition, seeds of tobacco plants expressing SmERF1 genes were smaller and lighter than those of wild plants. (2) Under NaCl treatment, the transgenic tobacco lines showed better tolerance to salinity, and the proline content, SOD and POD activities of transgenic lines were higher than those of wild type plants, while MDA content was lower than that of wild-type plants. (3) We determined the phytohormones related to plant resistance, and the results showed that transgenic tobacco plants had higher ABA levels but lower GA levels compared with wild type plants. The expression of SmERF1 regulated the expression of the key enzyme genes related to plant hormone biosynthesis, such as NtSDR, NtGA20ox, NtACO, and NtACS. [Conclusion] SmERF1 enhances tobacco tolerance to salt stress and may regulate seed size through the ABA-dependent pathway.

Virtual reality (VR), currently, as one of the most popular computer technologies, has shown a broad applied prospect. In this article, we review the concept and technical features of VR, and summarize its application in the field of military psychological training: psychological relaxation training, cognitive training, psychological resilience training, extraordinary psychological training, post-traumatic growth training, psychological experiment and monitoring and suicide-preventing communication training. We also propose that in the future, we should strengthen our military psychological training based on VR in terms of theory, technology, and knowledge dissemination.

Objective To explore the efficacy of Wechat platform-based positive psychology intervention on the well-being in freshmen in military universities. Methods Two stages of experiments were carried out. In the first stage, 67 cadets were subjected from the classroom teaching class of a military university by cluster sampling, and were assigned into an experimental group (n=30) and a control group (n=37) according to their own willing. The participants of the experimental group were asked to follow WeChat official account "Happiness Promotion Training Camp" and write records of "mindfulness meditation", "putting complaints aside" and "three good things" every day, but those of the control group had no such interventions. In the second stage, 161 cadets were sampled as above and autonomously divided into experimental group (n=74) and the control group (n=87). The experimental group followed the official account "Happiness Promotion Training Camp" and recorded "three good things" every day, and the other group received no such intervention. In both stages, Miao Yuanjiang's Multiple Happiness questionnaire (MHQ) was used to evaluate the participants of the 2 groups before and after intervention. Results ① In the first stage, after 4 weeks, the experimental group got significantly higher well-being than the control group, mainly in the dimensions of life satisfaction, health concern and self-worth. ② In the second stage, there was no significant difference in the increase of well-being between the experimental group and the control group after 8 weeks. It may be related to the matching of intervention activities and target groups, the subjects' motivation and the simplicity of intervention activities. Conclusion WeChat platform-based comprehensive positive psychology intervention can improve the well-being of cadets, but the effect of single psychological intervention is not good.

Oncocardiology is increasingly hot research field/topic in the clinical management of cancer with anti-angiogenic therapy of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) that may cause cardiovascular toxicity, such as hypertension via vascular dysfunction and attenuation of eNOS/NO signaling in the baroreflex afferent pathway. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the potential roles of VEGF/VEGF receptors (VEGFRs) expressed in the baroreflex afferent pathway in autonomic control of blood pressure (BP) regulation.

In this work, two ionic liquids (ILs) immobilized metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), Fe‐MIL‐101‐3N(BuBr) and Fe‐MIL‐101‐N(Bnme2)Br, were obtained by modifying amino groups in Fe‐MIL‐101‐NH2 with bromobutane and quaternary ammonium salt. The ionic liquid immobilized MOFs have Lewis acid sites (Fe3+) and nucleophilic sites (Br−), which can synergistically catalyze the cycloaddition reaction of CO2 and epoxides. Various cyclic carbonate derivatives were obtained in excellent yields under the optimal conditions. Additionally, we found that Fe‐MIL‐101‐N(Bnme2)Br exhibited the highest catalytic activity and it can be easily recovered and reused for at least 5 times without loss of catalytic activity. Our method of preparing bifunctional catalysts provides a new approach to design catalysts for the chemical conversion of CO2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
