It has been recently demonstrated that lightcone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs) for a heavy meson, defined in the heavy quark limit, can be extracted by simulating quasi-distribution amplitudes on the lattice with a large meson momentum $P^z$. This extraction involves a two-step procedure. In the first-step, the quasi-distribution amplitudes are matched onto the QCD LCDAs in the large $P^z$ limit. In the second step, the QCD LCDAs are matched onto the desired LCDAs defined in HQET. In this work, we present the $m_H^{2n}/(P^z)^{2n}$ and $\Lambda_\text{QCD}^2/(P^z)^2$ corrections in the first step with $m_H$ being the heavy meson mass. To account for $m_H^{2n}/(P^z)^{2n}$ corrections, we employ two methods: the moment relation that can provide mass corrections to all orders, and a leading-twist projector that gives the leading-order mass corrections. For the $\Lambda_\text{QCD}^2/(P^z)^2$ corrections, we employ a renormalon model that addresses the renormalon ambiguity stemming from the divergence of the perturbative series. We adopt two parametrizations for QCD LCDAs to conduct a numerical analysis. The results suggest that these corrections are typically smaller than 20\% in most regions, and should be included in a precision analysis. These findings will serve as a valuable guide for future studies on heavy meson LCDAs, particularly in the context of Lattice QCD, where accounting for such corrections is crucial for improving the accuracy and reliability of the results., Comment: 12 pages,7 figures

The interactions between Rydberg atoms and microwave fields provide a valuable framework for studying the complex dynamics out of equilibrium, exotic phases, and critical phenomena in many-body physics. This unique interplay allows us to explore various regimes of nonlinearity and phase transitions. Here, we observe a phase transition from the state in the regime of bistability to that in multistability in a strongly interacting Rydberg atoms by varying the microwave field intensity, accompanying with the breaking of Z3-symmetry. During the phase transition, the system experiences a hidden critical point, in which the multistable states are difficult to be identified. Through changing the initial state of system, we can identify a hidden multistable state and reveal a hidden trajectory of phase transition, allowing us to track to a hidden critical point. In addition, we observe multiple phase transitions in spectra, suggesting higher-order symmetry breaking. The interplay between strong long-range interactions and the coherent driving contribute to the formation of complex patterns, symmetry, and novel phases of matter in many-body systems. However, long-range interactions may induce an additional dissipation channel, resulting in non-Hermitian many-body dynamics and the emergence of exceptional points in spectrum. Here, we report experimental observation of interaction-induced exceptional points in cold Rydberg atomic gases, revealing the breaking of charge-conjugation parity symmetry. By measuring the transmission spectrum under increasing and decreasing probe intensity, the interaction-induced hysteresis trajectories are observed, which give rise to non-Hermitian dynamics. We record the area enclosed by hysteresis loops and investigate the dynamics of hysteresis loops. The reported exceptional points and hysteresis trajectories in cold Rydberg atomic gases provide valuable insights into the underlying non-Hermitian physics in many-body systems, allowing us to study the interplay between long-range interactions and non-Hermiticity.

Crystal seeding enables a deeper understanding of phase behavior, leading to the development of methods for controlling and manipulating phase transitions in various applications such as materials synthesis, crystallization processes, and phase transformation engineering. How to seed a crystalline in time domain is an open question, which is of great significant and may provide an avenue to understand and control time-dependent quantum many-body physics. Here, we utilize a microwave pulse as a seed to induce the formation of a discrete time crystal in Floquet driven Rydberg atoms. In the experiment, the periodic driving on Rydberg states acts as a seeded crystalline order in subspace, which triggers the time-translation symmetry breaking across the entire ensemble. The behavior of the emergent time crystal is elaborately linked to alterations in the seed, such as the relative phase shift and the frequency difference, which result in phase dependent seeding and corresponding shift in periodicity of the time crystal, leading to embryonic synchronization. This result opens up new possibilities for studying and harnessing time-dependent quantum many-body phenomena, offering insights into the behavior of complex many-body systems under seeding.

The identification of tipping points is essential for prediction of collapses or other sudden changes in complex systems. Applications include studies of ecology, thermodynamics, climatology, and epidemiology. However, detecting early signs of proximity to a tipping is made challenging by complexity and non-linearity. Strongly interacting Rydberg atom gases offer a model systems that offer both complexity and non-linearity, including phase transition and critical slowing down. Here, via an external probe we observe prior warning of the proximity of a phase transition of Rydberg thermal gases. This warning signal is manifested as a cessation of the variance growth with increasing probe intensity. We also observed the dynamics of the critical slowing down behavior versus different time scales, driving intensities, and atomic densities, thus providing insights into the study of a Rydberg atom system's critical behavior. Our experiment suggests that the full critical slowing down dynamics of strongly-interacting Rydberg atoms can be probed systematically, thus providing a benchmark with which to identify critical phenomena in quantum many-body systems.

Engineering a Terahertz (THz) frequency comb spectroscopy at atomic level advances the precisely measurement in spectroscopy and sensing. Current progresses on THz frequency comb rely on difference-frequency generation, optical parametric oscillation, and other methods. Generating a THz frequency comb poses challenges in source stability and achieving a narrow bandwidth, which traditional THz devices are difficult to achieve. Furthermore, accurately measuring the generated THz frequency comb necessitates a high-performance THz detector. Rydberg atoms are well-suited for electric field sensing due to their ultra-wide radio frequency transition energy levels, making them especially sensitive to external electric fields in the DC to THz bandwidth. However, there have been no reports about generating THz frequency comb spectroscopy at the atomic level until now. This work presents a THz frequency comb spectroscopy with Rydberg atoms, in which a Floquet comb-like transition is engineered through a time-periodic drive field. Our approach simplifies the setup required for THz frequency comb spectroscopy while extending the working bandwidth for Rydberg atomic sensors. The THz frequency comb spectroscopy at the atomic level reported in this article shows great potential for various applications in astronomy, remote sensing, spectral detection of biological samples, and other related fields.

Developing microwave electric field sensing based on Rydberg atom has received significant attention due to its unique advantages. However, achieving effective coupling between Rydberg atom and the microwave electric field in the sensing process is a challenging problem that greatly impacts the sensitivity. To address this, we propose the use of a microwave resonant cavity to enhance the effective coupling between the Rydberg atoms and the microwave electric field. In our experiment, we use a three-photon excitation scheme to prepare Rydberg atoms, make measurements of electric fields without and with a microwave cavity in which the vapor cell is put inside. Through experimental testing, we achieve an 18 dB enhancement of power sensitivity. The experiment shows an effective enhancement in electric field pulse signal detection. This result provides a promising direction for enhancing the sensitivity of Rydberg atomic electric field sensors and paves the way for their application in precision electric field measurements.

We present a comprehensive investigation of leading-twist lightcone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs) and quasi distribution amplitudes (quasi-DAs) for light octet and decuplet baryons within large momentum effective theory. In LaMET, LCDAs can be factorized in terms of a hard kernel and quasi-DAs that are defined as spatial correlators and calculable on Lattice QCD. To renormalize quasi-DAs and eliminate the singular terms $\ln(\mu^2 z_i^2)'s$ in them, which undermine the efficacy in perturbative expansion, we adopt a hybrid renormalization scheme that combines the self-renormalization and ratio scheme. Through self-renormalization, we eliminate UV divergences and linear divergences at large spatial separations in quasi distribution amplitudes without introducing additional nonperturbative effects. By taking a ratio with respect to the zero-momentum matrix element, we effectively remove UV divergences at small spatial separations. Under the hybrid renormalization scheme, we calculate the hard kernels up to one-loop accuracy. It turns out that only four different hard kernels are needed for all leading-twist LCDAs of octet and decuplet baryons. These results are crucial for the lattice-based exploration of the LCDAs of a light baryon from the first principle of QCD.

Higher-order and fractional discrete time crystals (DTCs) are exotic phases of matter where the discrete time translation symmetry is broken into higher-order and non-integer category. Generation of these unique DTCs has been widely studied theoretically in different systems. However, no current experimental methods can probe these higher-order and fractional DTCs in any quantum many-body systems. We demonstrate an experimental approach to observe higher-order and fractional DTCs in Floquet-driven Rydberg atomic gases. We have discovered multiple $n$-DTCs with integer values of $n$ = 2, 3, and 4, and others ranging up to 14, along with fractional $n$-DTCs with $n$ values beyond the integers. The system response can transition between adjacent integer DTCs, during which the fractional DTCs are investigated. Study of higher-order and fractional DTCs expands fundamental knowledge of non-equilibrium dynamics and is promising for discovery of more complex temporal symmetries beyond the single discrete time translation symmetry., Comment: Added references

A time crystal is an exotic phase of matter where time-translational symmetry is broken; this phase differs from the spatial symmetry breaking induced in crystals in space. Lots of experiments report the transition from a thermal equilibrium phase to time crystal phase. However, there is no experimental method to probe the bifurcation effect of distinct time crystals in quantum many-body systems. Here, in a driven and dissipative many-body Rydberg atom system, we observe multiple continuous dissipative time crystals and emergence of more complex temporal symmetries beyond the single time crystal phase. Bifurcation of time crystals in strongly interacting Rydberg atoms is observed; the process manifests as a transition from a time crystal state of long temporal order to one of short temporal order, or vice versa. By manipulating the driving field parameters, we observe the time crystal's bistability and a hysteresis loop. These investigations indicate new possibilities for control and manipulation of the temporal symmetries of non-equilibrium systems., Comment: Added references

Quantum many-body systems near phase transitions respond collectively to externally applied perturbations. We explore this phenomenon in a laser-driven dissipative Rydberg gas that is tuned to a bistable regime. Here two metastable phases coexist, which feature a low and high density of Rydberg atoms, respectively. The ensuing collective dynamics, which we monitor in situ, is characterized by stochastic collective jumps between these two macroscopically distinct many-body phases. We show that the statistics of these jumps can be controlled using a dual-tone microwave field. In particular, we find that the distribution of jump times develops peaks corresponding to subharmonics of the relative microwave detuning. Our study demonstrates the control of collective statistical properties of dissipative quantum many-body systems without the necessity of fine-tuning or of ultra cold temperatures. Such robust phenomena may find technological applications in quantum sensing and metrology.

The Wilson-Fisher criticality provides a paradigm for a large class of phase transitions in nature (e.g., helium, ferromagnets). In the three dimension, Wilson-Fisher critical points are not exactly solvable due to the strongly-correlated feature, so one has to resort to non-perturbative tools such as numerical simulations. Here, we design a microscopic model of Heisenberg magnet bilayer and study the underlying Wilson-Fisher $\mathrm{O}(3)$ transition through the lens of fuzzy sphere regularization. We uncover a wealth of crucial information which directly reveals the emergent conformal symmetry regarding this fixed point. In specific, we accurately calculate and analyze the energy spectra at the transition, and explicitly identify the existence of a conserved Noether current, a stress tensor and relevant primary fields. Most importantly, the primaries and their descendants form a fingerprint conformal tower structure, pointing to an almost perfect state-operator correspondence. Furthermore, by examining the leading rank-4 symmetric tensor operator, we demonstrate the cubic perturbation is relevant, implying the critical $\mathrm{O}(3)$ model is unstable to cubic anisotropy, in agreement with the renormalization group and bootstrap calculations. The successful dissection of conformal content of the Wilson-Fisher universality class extends the horizon of the fuzzy sphere method and paves the way for exploring higher dimensional conformal field theories., Comment: 17 pages; 10 figures; 4 tables

To study the light baryon light-cone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs), the spatial correlator of the light baryon has been calculated up to one-loop order in coordinate space. They reveal certain identities that do not appear in the study of mesons DAs and PDFs. Subsequently, it was renormalized using the ratio renormalization scheme involving division by a 0-momentum matrix element. Then through the matching in the coordinate space, the light baryon light-cone correlator can be extracted out from the spatial correlator. %By choosing a specific type of spatial correlator for light baryons, the LCDA is determined from first principles. These results provide insights into both the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) structures of the light baryon spatial correlator, which is valuable for further exploration in this field. We develop a hybrid scheme to renormalize quasi distribution amplitudes of a light baryon on the lattice, which combines the self-renormalization and ratio scheme. By employing self-renormalization, the UV divergences and linear divergence at large spatial separations in quasi distribution amplitudes are removed without introducing extra nonperturbative effects, while making a ratio with respect to the zero-momentum matrix element can properly remove the UV divergences in small spatial separations. As a specific application, distribution amplitudes of the $\Lambda$ baryon made of $uds$ are investigated, and the requisite equal-time correlators, which define quasi distribution amplitudes in coordinate space, are perturbatively calculated up to the next-to-leading order in strong coupling constant $\alpha_s$. These perturbative equal-time correlators are used to convert lattice QCD matrix elements to the continuum space during the renormalization process. Subsequently, quasi distribution amplitudes are matched onto lightcone distribution amplitudes by integrating out hard modes and the corresponding hard kernels are derived up to next-to-leading order in $\alpha_s$ including the hybrid counterterms. In conformal field theory (CFT), the four-point correlator is a fundamental object that encodes CFT properties, constrains CFT structures, and connects to the gravitational scattering amplitude in holography theory. However, the four-point correlator of CFTs in dimensions higher than 2D remains largely unexplored due to the lack of non-perturbative tools. In this paper, we introduce a new approach for directly computing four-point correlators of 3D CFTs. Our method employs the recently proposed fuzzy (non-commutative) sphere regularization, and we apply it to the paradigmatic 3D Ising CFT. Specifically, we have computed three different four-point correlators: $\langle \sigma\sigma\sigma\sigma\rangle$, $\langle \sigma\sigma\epsilon\epsilon\rangle$, and $\langle \sigma\sigma T_{\mu\nu} T_{\rho\eta}\rangle$. Additionally, we verify the crossing symmetry of $\langle \sigma\sigma\sigma\sigma\rangle$, which is a notable property arising from conformal symmetry. Remarkably, the computed four-point correlators exhibit continuous crossing ratios, showcasing the continuum nature of the fuzzy sphere regularization scheme. Momentum distributions of quarks/gluons inside a light baryon in a hard exclusive process are encoded in the light-cone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs). In this work, we point out that the leading twist LCDAs of a light baryon can be obtained through a simulation of a quasi-distribution amplitude calculable on lattice QCD within the framework of the large-momentum effective theory. We calculate the one-loop perturbative contributions to LCDA and quasi-distribution amplitudes and explicitly demonstrate the factorization of quasi-distribution amplitudes at the one-loop level. Based on the perturbative results, we derive the matching kernel in the $\overline{\rm MS}$ scheme and regularization-invariant momentum-subtraction scheme. In this paper, we conduct systematic measurement studies to show that the high memory bandwidth consumption of modern distributed applications can lead to a significant drop of network throughput and a large increase of tail latency in high-speed RDMA networks.We identify its root cause as the high contention of memory bandwidth between application processes and network processes. This contention leads to frequent packet drops at the NIC of receiving hosts, which triggers the congestion control mechanism of the network and eventually results in network performance degradation. To tackle this problem, we make a key observation that given the distributed storage service, the vast majority of data it receives from the network will be eventually written to high-speed storage media (e.g., SSD) by CPU. As such, we propose to bypass host memory when processing received data to completely circumvent this performance bottleneck. In particular, we design Lamda, a novel receiver cache processing system that consumes a small amount of CPU cache to process received data from the network at line rate. We implement a prototype of Lamda and evaluate its performance extensively in a Clos-based testbed. Results show that for distributed storage applications, Lamda improves network throughput by 4.7% with zero memory bandwidth consumption on storage nodes, and improves network throughput by up 17% and 45% for large block size and small size under the memory bandwidth pressure, respectively. Lamda can also be applied to latency-sensitive HPC applications, which reduces their communication latency by 35.1%.

The $3D$ Ising transition, the most celebrated and unsolved critical phenomenon in nature, has long been conjectured to have emergent conformal symmetry, similar to the case of the $2D$ Ising transition. Yet, the emergence of conformal invariance in the $3D$ Ising transition has rarely been explored directly, mainly due to unavoidable mathematical or conceptual obstructions. Here, we design an innovative way to study the quantum version of the $3D$ Ising phase transition on spherical geometry, using the "fuzzy (non-commutative) sphere" regularization. We accurately calculate and analyze the energy spectra at the transition, and explicitly demonstrate the state-operator correspondence (i.e. radial quantization), a fingerprint of conformal field theory. In particular, we have identified 13 parity-even primary operators within a high accuracy and 2 parity-odd operators that were not known before. Our result directly elucidates the emergent conformal symmetry of the $3D$ Ising transition, a conjecture made by Polyakov half a century ago.
