18. Effect of three Tiao-Bu Fei-Shen therapies on renal injury in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Abstract

METHODS: SPF-grade SD rats were randomly divided into control, COPD, pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate ammonium (PDTC), Bufei-Jianpi formula (BJF), Bu-fei-Yishen formula (BYF), Yiqi-Zishen formula (YZF), BJF combined with PDTC (BJF+PDTC), BYF combined PDTC (BYF+PDTC), and YZF combined PDTC (YZF+PDTC) groups. Cigarette smoke exposure combined with bacterial infection were used to develop a stable-phase rat model of COPD, and kidney-injured rats were screened for subsequent treatment. Pulmonary and renal functions, pathological changes in lung and kidney tissues, 24 h urine volume, urine biochemical indexes, aquaporin (AQP) levels, ratio of inflammatory cells in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), serum inflammatory factor levels, and mRNA and protein expressions of IκB kinase (IKK) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) were observed at the end of the 16th week. RESULTS: Compared with control group, the rats in COPD group showed reduced lung function indexes of forced expiratory vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 0. 1 second (FEV0.1 ) and FEV0.1/FVC (P<0. 05). The lung histopathology exhibited alveolar wall fracture and fusion and airway inflammatory cell infiltration. The renal function indexes serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and serum cystatin C (Cys-C) were significantly increased (P<0. 01). The renal histopathology showed swollen and disorderly arranged tubular epithelial cells. The 24 h urine volume decreased (P<0. 01). The urinary biochemical indexes 24 h urinary total protein, urinary kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), urinary Cys-C, and urinary N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase significantly increased (P<0. 01). The protein levels of AQP1~4 were significantly incr eased (P<0. 01). The ratio of neutrophils and lymphocytes in the BALF were incr eased (P<0. 01). The ratio of monocytes was decr eased (P<0. 01). The serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (lL)-6, IL-13, IL-1β, and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) were significantly increased (P<0. 01). And the mRNA and protein expression levels of IKK, NF-κB were significantly elevated in the renal tissue (P <0. 05). Compared with COPD group, the above symptoms and indexes of the rats were improved to different degrees after the intervention in treatment groups, among which BJF, BYF and YZF demonstrated similar effects to PDTC, and BJF+ PDTC, BYF+PDTC and YZF+PDTC exhibited better improvements than the corresponding monotherapy. CONCLUSION : The three Tiao-Bu Fei-Shen therapies can reduce the airway and systemic inflammatory response, improve renal function and attenuate renal injury in COPD rats. Abstract

Enamines are formed by reacting a carbonyl compound with an amine under dehydration conditions. A vast array of transformations has been achieved via preformed enamine chemistry. Recently, by introducing conjugating double bonds to the enamine functionality, dienamines, and trienamines have propelled the discovery of several previously unattainable remote-site functionalization reactions of carbonyl compounds. Comparatively, alkyne-conjugating enamine analogues have recently shown high potential in multifunctionalization reactions while remaining underexplored. In this account, we systematically summarized and discussed recent advances in synthetic transformations based on ynenamine-containing compounds.

Abstract

In local energy market, double auction is the most frequently used trading mechanism in blockchain based electricity power trading. In the general form of double auction, the transaction orders and prices only depend on the sellers bid and buyers offer prices, regardless of the energy production efficiency of producers and electricity consumption efficiency of consumers. As a consequence, the competitiveness of renewable energy is undermined and the amount of wasted electricity is increased. With the rapid development of IoT technologies and smart grid, it becomes much easier to obtain information and status of producers and consumers. Therefore, we consider combining IoT technologies with blockchain and proposing a double incentive trading mechanism which considers the external costs of producers and the efficiency of consumers in blockchain based electricity power trading. More specifically, we put forward a metric called priority value (PV) which quantifies the external costs or the efficiency of the consumers to optimize the electricity transactions. The case study shows that our method provides more trading preference for producers and consumers which produce/consume electricity more efficiently and environmentally friendly compared with the traditional trading method. The results also indicate that our method will incent the consumption of renewable energy and stimulate electricity producers to improve the utilization efficiency of fossil fuels, which helps to reduce carbon emissions, and coal consumption, and will also encourage users to improve electricity consumption behavior and save electricity.

Abstract

Gesture recognition refers to the recognition of the behavior and action composed of human hands and arms. Combining with edge computing, gesture recognition has important applications in human-computer interaction, sign language recognition, somatosensory games, intelligent device control, control of digital twins and so on. The study of dynamic gestures refers to the sequence of gestures whose apparent shape or spatial position changes over time. In order to solve the problem that traditional methods require gesture recognition in the same position and direction, this paper proposes a wireless signal model based on twin network. We propose a gesture recognition system based on wireless sensing with edge computing in twin network. It requires users to provide all gesture training samples at only one location, and the rest are automatically generated by the system’s own translation function. The system uses twin network to generate corresponding number of multi-directional gesture classification models. When a user performs a gesture in a certain position, the system will estimate the user’s position, and then use the corresponding classification model to identify the user’s gesture, so as to realize the control operation. The experimental results show that, compared with the existing methods, the accuracy of this method is improved from 75% to more than 91%.

Abstract

Lipid droplets (LDs) are organelles composed of a lipid core surrounded by a phospholipid monolayer, plays an important role in a variety of physiological processes as well as diseases. In this work, TPAs‐SCH3‐2CN with an enhanced electron D‐π‐A system, is synthesized, which makes itself as an orange emission compound (Em=590 nm) and also have high polarity. It is verified that TPAs‐SCH3‐2CN is an excellent LDs‐targeted probe, and it also sensitive to the ClO− detection in vitro and in cells. Impressively, due to the high lipophilicity, TPAs‐SCH3‐2CN is able to stain the yolk lipids in zebrafish, exhibiting the potential for monitoring lipid transport and metabolism processes. Abstract

Due to the very similar chemical and physical properties, D2O and H2O cannot be discriminated easily by convenient and cost-effective ways. Up to now, small organic molecules with active deprotonating ability in a very weak alkaline solution are proposed to deal with this fascinating yet challenging research. In this contribution, TPA-DP-COOH, a carboxylic acid group-substituted fluorescent substance, is demonstrated as a sensor to detect D2O and H2O with an external interference-free style, which not only displays a huge different signal output in D2O and H2O, but also very low limits of detection (LOD) as 49.08 ppm (D2O in H2O) and 0.23 ppm (H2O in D2O), respectively. Thus, these excellent sensing behaviors encourage us to fabricate TPA-DP-COOH and TPA-DP-COOK-absorbed filter papers as cost-effective and portable test strips, which are able to monitor the spoilage of Dimocarpus longan Lour and white leg shrimp in a non-contact mode during the storing process. Abstract

Background Breastfeeding confers substantial benefits to child health and has also been associated with lower risk of maternal cardiovascular diseases ( CVDs ) in later life. However, the evidence on the effects of CVD is still inconsistent, especially in East Asians, in whom the frequency and duration of breastfeeding significantly differ from those in the West. Methods and Results In 2004–2008, the nationwide China Kadoorie Biobank recruited 0.5 million individuals aged 30 to 79 years from 10 diverse regions across China. During 8 years of follow‐up, 16 671 incident cases of coronary heart disease and 23 983 cases of stroke were recorded among 289 573 women without prior CVD at baseline. Cox regression yielded adjusted hazard ratios ( HR s) and 95% CIs for incident CVD by breastfeeding. Overall, ≈99% of women had given birth, among whom 97% reported a history of breastfeeding, with a median duration of 12 months per child. Compared with parous women who had never breastfed, ever breastfeeding was associated with a significantly lower risk of CVD , with adjusted HR s of 0.91 (95% CI, 0.84–0.99) for coronary heart disease and 0.92 (95% CI, 0.85–0.99) for stroke. Women who had breastfed for ≥24 months had an 18% ( HR, 0.82; 0.77–0.87) lower risk of coronary heart disease and a 17% ( HR, 0.83; 0.79–0.87) lower risk of stroke compared with women who had never breastfed. Among women who ever breastfed, each additional 6 months of breastfeeding per child was associated with an adjusted HR of 0.96 (95% CI, 0.94–0.98) for coronary heart disease and 0.97 (95% CI, 0.96–0.98) for stroke. Conclusions Among Chinese women, a history of breastfeeding was associated with an ≈10% lower risk of CVD in later life and the magnitude of the inverse association was stronger among those with a longer duration of breastfeeding.

Abstract

Obtaining 18 O-labeled organic substances is of great research importance and also an extremely challenging work. In this work, depending on the reversed Knoevenagel reaction, 18 O-labeled aromatic aldehydes ( 3a-3x ) are successfully obtained with high total yields (52-72%) and sufficient 18 O abundance (90.90-96.09%).
