This study was a research and development, with the aim of producing the development of Indonesian language learning materials based on local wisdom. There were three steps in this research and development. The first was a preliminary study. It was the literature studies and field studies. The second was the development study starting from analyzing the development of learning materials, the design of the initial product (prototype), and the development of Indonesian learning materials based on local wisdom. The third was an evaluation. It was conducted to test the effectiveness and feasibility of the development of Indonesian language learning materials based on local wisdom. The data of test results show that students' average score reaches 82.31 from 30 students who were tested. The highest score is 87.70, and the lowest score is 73.60. Of the 30 students who worked on the student worksheet, there are 25 students (83.33%) who have a very high score category, and five students (16.67%) are in the high score category. Based on the learning outcomes regarding the mastery standard of the class namely 75%, the data show that students' work has been completed because there are 90% of 30 students who have reached the mastery standard of the class. Therefore, the use of Indonesian language learning materials based on local wisdom is feasible and suitable to be applied in accordance with the level of capabilities and characteristics of the first-grade students in SMA Negeri 3 Palopo. Attitudes and behaviour in the use of the language among the bureaucrats can be either 'symbols' can be meant by certain people. Language is the behavior of someone's mental attitude in selecting and using of language. Sociolinguistics, which provided the foundations of the theory in this study formed the basis of source selection thinking in the use of language. In relation to the use of language, there are several aspects that need to be paid attention by users of the language. First, who communicates with whom? Second, what do they discuss? Third, where do they speak? Fourth, where do people speak? Fifth, how do people speak? The research formulation is, "How is the trend of using Indonesian language among bureaucrats within public services?" This research aims at describing the attitude and behavior of bureaucrats in using language for community service. The design of this research was in the form of a description or explanation of the attitudes and behavior in using Indonesian language including written and oral behaviors among bureaucrats in South Sulawesi province. The data were collected naturally that were not previously conditioned. The subjects were given preferential treatment as in the qualitative approach. The findings in this study were that the trend of using Indonesian language among the bureaucrats in South Sulawesi province still shows the use of the language in their group. This study examined one aspect of qualitative-descriptive. It used the ethnography design of communication in the study of pragmatics. It explored in detail about the phenomenon in the context of real life. That is politeness in Buginese language related to social status in Wajo, including (1) the language devices used as a symbol of politeness; (2) politeness in Buginese language reflecting social status in Wajo. Words, phrases, clauses, sentences including diction are the language of data collected through direct observation and recording of the individual or group concerned. After that, the researchers analyzed the data through the five stages of data analysis procedures. They are transcription, reduction, interpretation, conclusion, and recommendations. The results of data analysis demonstrated that there is some language devices used as a symbol of politeness in Buginese language. They are honorific word meaning, second person singular pronouns, words, greetings, vocabulary as a symbol of politeness, speech in pragmatic meaning. Buginese speakers use these devices as part of a word, phrase, or sentence. The use of language devices in the speech as a symbol of politeness in Buginese language of Wajo is distinguished by social relations (position or social status). This study aims at revealing the Indonesian language teaching skills consisting of listening, speaking, reading, and writing by Mastering discourse. The method used was descriptive-qualitative method on the implementation of the teaching language skills, discourse understanding, and the influence of the teaching language skills toward discourse mastery. The populations were 346 students and the samples were 103 students. The instruments used were direct observation on the implementation of teaching language skills. The instruments were tested. Then, hypotheses were tested by using regression analysis. The results show that teaching listening skills toward discourse mastery is poor. In addition, the influence of the teaching skills of speaking, reading, and writing does not affect the student's mastery of discourse. The conclusion is that students who do not master discourse are not caused by the teaching of language skills. On the contrary, students who master the discourse are not caused by the teaching of language skills. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this research was to examine the correlation between tutor competency aspects and the results of the basic writing skills for students of elementary school teacher, in particular for the distance learning Program of Open University Makassar in academic year 2012. This research was ex post facto research. It was correlation research. The populations of the research were 387 and the samples were 100. The samples were taken by using multistage random sampling technique. The data were collected by using questionnaire and documentation study of the final semester examinations score. The data were then analyzed by using regression analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics 19. The result of the SPSS analysis shows a simple regression. That is Ŷ = 21,986 + 0,354X. It shows that every increase for one score of tutors competency aspects (X) causes the increase of 0,354 score for the results of basic writing skills (Y) on constant 21,986. Then, the value of R Square value obtained 0,576. It means that 57.6% of the variation occurs on the results of the basic writing skills can be explained by variations in the tutors' competency aspects through regression equation. That is Y = 21,986 + 0,354X. Results of hypothesis testing found that there is a positive and significant correlation between tutor competency aspects and the results of basic writing skills.
