In this paper we give some results for M-class Q and M-class Q* operators. We give the equivalence between Aluthge transformation and *-Aluthge transformation of M-class Q and M-class Q* operators. Further, we prove that the product of twoM-class Q (M-class Q*) operators, in general, may not be M-class Q (M-class Q*) operator, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Oral health has an important impact on the general health protection, particularly on patients with special medical needs such as patients with congenital heart diseases. Components that show the oral health status are caries and oral hygiene. The congenital heart diseases are frequent anomalies that appear in the dental practice, which are considered to be a risk factor for the development of bacterial endocarditis from diseases of oral cavity and dental treatments. The purpose of this study was to research the oral health status of children with CHD, intro- ducing an issue that was not researched before in Kosovo. This research was conducted in 123 children divied in the study group, consisting of 80 children with CHD, and the control group, consisting of 43 healthy children. The children included in this research were from different parts of Kosovo, age 3 through 15 years. The children from the study group were with different types of CHD. The parameters used for the oral status evaluation are outlined below: 1. The DMFT, dmft index according to the system of Klain-Palmer for the prevalence of dental caries; 2. The OHI index according to Greene and Vermillion for the evaluation of the oral hygiene; The average value of dmft-index was 6.7 for the study group and 5.62 for the control group. These data were without distinction with important statistical significance (t-test = 1.263, p>0.05). The average value of DMFT index for the group with CHD was 4.1, whereas for the control grup this index was 3.47. There was no significant difference between the two groups (t-test = 0.8321, p>0.05). The OHI index values of 0.1 through 1.0 were on 61% of the study group with CHD and 66.7% ofthe control group; the values from 1.1 though 2.0 were on 36.6% ofthe study group and 22.2% ofthe control group, while with value 0 were 2.4% of the study group and 5.6% of the control group. About 68.8% of parents of children with CHD were informed mainly by the pediatric doctor about their risk during the dental interventions, however they had no information about the importance of orl health and other provisions for its protection and indirectly for the general health protection. Based on these results we can conclude that the oral health status and its care is not good at patients with CHD and in view of their health, measures have to be undertaken for its im- provement. Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of ozone gas (O3) on the reduction of dry socket (DS) occurrence following surgical extraction of lower jaw third molars, influence of the indication for the extraction, and the difficulty of extraction on the incidence of DS., Materials and Methods: This study included thirty patients with bilaterally impacted third molars of mandible requiring surgical procedure for extraction. Following extraction, in the control group, saline solution was used for irrigation of extraction sockets and in the experimental group, intra-alveolar O3 was applied for 12 s (Prozone, W and H, UK, Ltd.). The surgeries were performed by the same oral surgeon. The follow-up visits were performed at 48 h and on day seven, postsurgery where the symptoms of DS were evaluated and intensity of pain has been recorded using visual analog scale 0-100., Results: In this pilot study, DS was present in 16.67% and 3.33% of cases in the control and experimental groups, respectively (P = 0.20)., Conclusion: The application of O3 may reduce the incidence of DS and accelerates the recovery period after the surgery. Prophylactic use of O3 may be suggested in all patients, especially in the patients at a risk of development of DS.

Introduction: An epidermoid cyst is a benign cyst usually found on the skin. Bone cysts are very rare and if they appear in bone they usually appear in the distal phalanges of the fingers. Epidermoid cysts of the jaws are uncommon., Case Presentation: We present a case, of a 41 year-old female patient admitted to our department because of pain and swelling in the parotid and masseteric region-left side. There was no trismus, pathological findings in skin, high body temperature level, infra-alveolar nerves anesthesia or lymphadenopathy present. The orthopantomography revealed a cystic lesion and a unilocular lesion that included mandibular ramus on the left side with 3 cm in diameter. Under total anesthesia, a cyst had been reached and was enucleated. Histopathologic findings showed that the pathologic lesion was an epidermoid cyst., Discussion: Epidermoid and dermoid cysts are rare, benign lesions found throughout the body. Only a few cases in literature describe an intraossesus epidermoid cyst., Conclusion: Our case is an epidermoid cyst with a rare location in the region of the mandibular ramus. It is not associated with any trauma in this region except medical history reveals there was an operative removal of a wisdom tooth 12 years ago in the same side. These cysts are interesting from the etiological point of view. They should be considered in the differential diagnosis of other radiolucent lesions of the jaws. The Aim: The aim of this study was to analyze maxillofacial region fractures during the past 20 years in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery in Prishtina., Methods: We have analyzed the histories of all patients with trauma who were hospitalized in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery in Prishtina since the opening of the clinic in 1983 through 2005. Narrowing the subject of our research, we concentrated on fractures of the maxillofacial region treated at the Clinic of Maxillofacial Surgery for the period 2001-2005. We have analyzed those fractures and compared them with the period from 1983 to 2005 only when it was reasonable., Results: During this period, 1,945 patients were treated for trauma in the maxillofacial region by the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. This group included 19.8% females and 80.2% males. The largest age group were those between 20 and 20 years of age. Causes of trauma for both periods were predominantly traffic accidents; however, during the period 2001-2005, interpersonal conflicts were increasingly the cause of fractures., Conclusion: Interpersonal conflict as a cause of maxillofacial trauma has risen in recent years. With this increase the methods of treating fractures in this region are also changing.
