Formålet med lærerspesialistordningen og utdanningen var å gi lærere faglige utviklingsmuligheter og å styrke det kollektive profesjonsfellesskapet. I denne artikkelen løfter vi frem hvordan ti lærerspesialiststudenter i kroppsøving reflekterer over profesjonsutvikling og profesjonsfellesskap. Empirien er studentenes eksamenstekster. Vi analyserer tekstene med utgangspunkt i Hargreaves og Fullans forståelse av sosial kapital. Studien viser hvordan informantene vektlegger profesjonsfellesskapet ved sin egen skole og lærerspesialiststudiet som sentralt for profesjonsutviklingen, men at de opplever ulik grad av støtte fra ledelsen og fagkollegaene på skolen. Flere av informantene savner bedre strukturer for å sikre kroppsøvingslærerne et refleksjonsfellesskap som kan bidra til profesjonsutvikling. Et hovedfunn er at lærerspesialiststudiet har blitt opplevd som et faglig utviklende refleksjonsfellesskap der nye faglige perspektiver ble tatt i bruk for å reflektere over problemstillinger knyttet til studentenes profesjonsutøvelse. Det kan ha bidratt til å styrke den samlede sosiale kapital knyttet til kroppsøving på den enkelte skole.

Artikkelen tematiserer hvilke natursyn fem lærerstudenter fremmer på bakgrunn av egne erfaringer med opphold i naturen i oppvekst og tidligere skolegang. Drøftelsen tar utgangspunkt i et gjennomført refleksjonsnotat i tilknytning til et forskningsseminar på masternivå i regi av en norsk høgskole. Funnene drøftes i lys av matrisen The Nature in Culture Matrix. Artikkelen formidler at studentene, i vår studie, har vokst opp med et natursyn som er antroposentrisk og feirende; menneskesentrert og det idylliske og vakre med natur dominerer. The article discusses which view of nature five students express, according to their stay in nature in early childhood, leisure time and schooling. The discussion is based on a survey conducted as a part of a master's degree at a Norwegian university college. The findings are discussed in light of the matrix The Nature in Culture Matrix, a coordinate system with the extremes anthropocentric, ecocentric, celebrating and problematic nature vision. The article also refers to René Descartes and Arne Næss, example of philosophers with an anthropocentric and ecosentric view of nature, respectively. An anthropocentric and celebrating natural vision seems to be a clear pattern among the students in our material, both in various outdoor activities in the adolescence and in their education at school.

This article reports on a study of a small sample of Norwegian teachers trying out the Lesson Study idea that aimed to explore what happens when globally travelling reform ideas are enacted in local contexts.

Denne artikkelen belyser hvordan masterstudenters deltakelse på et forskningsseminar utendørs, med nærhet til naturen og bruk av kajakk, kan gi rom for en bred kunnskapstilegnelse og danning, personlig og profesjonsfaglig. Artikkelen bygger på et datamateriale hentet fra et seminar som inngår i et masterstudie ved Høgskolen i Bergen. Dataene drøftes i lys av Gadamers spill-teori og aristotelisk dyds- og kunnskapssyn. Vi viser gjennom drøftelsen at studentens bruk av kajakk i møte med naturens uforutsigbare krefter, der man blir spilt med av naturen selv, setter krav til utvikling av både holdninger og kunnskaper hos studentene - en vid lærings- og danningsberedskap som samlet sett omhandler klok dømmekraft (phronesis). Outdoor activity is a major focal point in the Norwegian Curriculum for Physical Education (K06) from primary to upper-secondary level. This article is based upon a study involving seven students in the Master Program at Bergen University College (HiB), who attended a kayak and research seminar in the spring of 2016. The data collection methods included participant observation and analysis of the reflection-notes written by students during and after the trip, and we discuss this in the light of Aristotelian notions of knowledge. Aristoteles’ thinking, which stresses that theory, reflection and action are integral elements of learning, serves as a constructive educational and analytical concept. This ancient concept of learning is applied to a formative process that may take place among students during the kayak seminar, as part of their training to become physical education teachers in schools. The article also takes the perspective that kayaking is an expression of play (Huizinga), in which the paddler is being played by nature itself (Gadamer). In such a formation context, the Aristotelian virtue Phronesis (wisdom) seems to play a central role as decisive practical knowledge.

Masteroppgave i fysisk aktivitet og kosthold i et skolemiljø Norge er et land omgitt av vann på flere kanter, men likevel har flere kartlegginger vist at svømmeferdighetene blant barn og unge er for dårlig. Norge har også mange drukningsulykker hvert år. Dette ønsker myndighetene i Norge å gjøre noe med, og har valgt å gjøre endringer i den norske skole, hvor man når ut til alle elevene. Høsten 2015 ble de nye og reviderte kompetansemålene for svømming iverksatt. Kompetansemålene, som er en del av kroppsøvingsfaget, ble mer konkretisert og spesifikke enn de hadde vært tidligere. Regjeringen innførte også høsten 2017 ”Regjeringens svømmepakke”. Den består av seks punkter som handler om ulike tiltak for å nå hovedmålet, nemlig å bedre svømmeferdighetene her til lands. Denne masteravhandlingen vil ta for seg satsningen på å bedre svømmeopplæringen i norsk grunnskole, og hvordan den blir implementert og mottatt av ulike aktører. Aktørene jeg retter fokuset mot er fylkesmannen, skoleeier og skoleleder. Hensikten med prosjektet er å finne ut hvordan fylkesmannen, skoleeiere og rektorer oppfatter implementeringen av den nye satsningen for svømmeopplæringen, og jeg har valgt et fylke, to kommuner og to rektorer. Det ble valgt ulike kommuner, for å se hvordan de har løst endringene i svømmedelen av kroppsøvingsfaget og den store satsningen på å bedre svømmeopplæringen. Problemstillingen er formulert slik: Hvordan oppfatter fylkesmannen, skoleeiere og rektorer implementeringen av satsningen på svømmeopplæringen? For å belyse problemstilling ble det benyttet en kvalitativ metode. Det ble gjennomført tilsammen fem semistrukturerte intervjuer, ett intervju med fylkesmannen i et fylke, intervju to skoleeiere i det gitte fylket, samt intervju med en skoleleder fra hver av kommunene. Hovedteorien som er blitt tatt i bruk for å belyse problemstillingen er implementeringsteori av Durlak og Dupre (2008) og Fixsen, Naoom, Blase, Friedman og Wallace (2005). Funnene fra det empiriske datamateriale er analysert av teoridrevet innholdsanalyse (Hsieh & Shannon, 2005), der implementeringsteori fra Durlak og Dupre (2008), og Fixsen med flere (2005) ble brukt som teoretisk rammeverk. Et av hovedfunnene i det empiriske datamaterialet er at både fylkesmannen, skoleeierne og skolelederne oppfatter endringene og satstingen for å bedre svømmeopplæringen som positive, men også utfordrende med tanke på rammene for svømmeundervisningen. Samtidig kommer det tydelig frem at de ulike aktørene i studien fraskriver seg en del av ansvaret for svømmeopplæringen og flytter ansvaret på andre styringslinjer. Norway is a country surrounded by water, but nevertheless several surveys have concluded that the swimming abilities of children and young people are significantly below expectations. Furthermore, the yearly incidence of drowning accidents in the country is too high. The Norwegian authorities want to improve this and have chosen to make changes to the school system, which reach and impact all students. In the autumn of 2015, the new and revised competence requirements for swimming education were implemented. The skill goals, which are part of the physical education profession, were improved and became more concrete and specific. In the autumn of 2017 the government also introduced the “Government’s Swimming Package”. This initiative consists of six points that deal with various measures to achieve the main goal, which is to improve the swimming skills throughout the country. This master thesis will explore the initiative taken to improve the swimming education in the Norwegian primary school and how this initiative is implemented and received by various actors. The actors I focus on are the county governors, school owners and school leaders. The purpose of the project is to find out how the county governors, school owners and principals perceive the implementation of the new initiative for swimming education. I chose to examine one county, two municipalities and two school leaders. Two distinct municipalities were chosen to explore how they have solved the changes in the swimming sector of physical exercise and the great initiative to improve swimming education. The problem is formulated as follows: How does the county governor, school owners and school leaders perceive the implementation of the initiative to improve swimming education? A qualitative method was used to illustrate the problem. Five semi-structured interviews were conducted with a county governor in a county, two school owners in the given county and one school leader in each of the interviewed municipalities. The implementation theory of Durlak and Dupre (2008) and Fixsen, Naoom, Blasé, Friedman and Wallace (2005) was the main theory that was used to elucidate the problem. The findings from the empirical data are analyzed by using directed content analysis (Hsieh & Shannon, 2005), where implementation theory from Durlak and DuPre (2008) and Fixsen et al (2005) were used as a theoretical framework. One of the main findings in the empirical data is that the county governor, the school owners and the school leaders all perceive the changes and initiatives to improve swimming education as positive, but challenging given the framework for swimming education. At the same time, it is clear that the various participants in the study disclaim part of the responsibility for swimming education and place it on other actors. MA-FYSAK

Skyggebjerg in this chapter offers an introduction and a textual analysis of recent visual poetry for children in the light of ecocriticism. The analysis is concentrated on the visual and verbal expressions about the forest, and the chapter shows how knowledge about a particular part of nature is depicted in a poetic language with ludic metaphors and references to both scientific and fictional spheres. The theoretical background for the textual analysis includes an ecocritical view with a broad orientation towards art and cultural products in general, and children’s literature is used as an example of this attitude. Following the perspectives of ecocriticism, the chapter also includes a discussion about the potential contribution of children’s literature to young readers’ understanding of, and sense of responsibility for, nature.

Masteroppgave i fysisk aktivitet og kosthold i et skolemiljø Kroppsøvingsfaget har vært gjennom flere fagplanrevisjoner etter innføring av Læreplanverket for Kunnskapsløftet (LK06). Siste revisjon med nye kompetansekrav i svømming kom i 2017, da regjeringen lanserte «Svømmepakken». «Svømmepakken» består av seks tiltak som skal bedre svømmeopplæringen i grunnskolen. Etter de nye kompetansekravene ble innført har det vært en diskusjon med tanke på hvilken modell og tilnærming man skal benytte i svømmeopplæringen, altså hvilke didaktikk som skal velges i undervisningen av elevene. Noen kommuner har valgt å flytte svømmeundervisningen delvis vekk fra kroppsøvingslærernes ansvarsområde og gitt organisasjoner og instruktører ansvar for undervisningen. Det finnes lite eller mangelfulle empiriske data om hvordan den nye satsingen løses rent didaktisk. Kunnskap om hvordan skolens ledelse, lærere og ikke minst elevene opplever undervisningen var viktig å få frem. Problemstillingen ble derfor: Hvordan oppfatter skoleledere, kroppsøvingslærere og elever innføring av nye kompetansekrav i svømming? For å belyse problemstillingen ble det benyttet en kvalitativ forskningsmetode, der skolens ledelse og kroppsøvingslærer på to skoler ble intervjuet. Det ble i tillegg gjennomført et fokusgruppeintervju med elever fra hver av skolene. Forskningen i denne studien var teoridrevet, og den didaktiske relasjonsmodellen ble brukt som teoretisk rammeverk. Resultatene viste at flere av informantene opplevde undervisningen som et «samlebånd», der hensikten var å oppnå gode testresultater. Kroppsøvingslærerne opplevde at instruktørene manglet pedagogisk kompetanse, og de fremhevet at instruktørene hadde lite kjennskap til elevenes forutsetninger. Dette førte til at det var stor forskjell på hvordan instruktørene behandlet elevene, og en noe mangelfull relasjon mellom instruktør og elev. Videre viste resultatene at hovedinnholdet i undervisningen var innlæring og terping av teknikk innendørs i basseng. Flere av informantene hadde ikke kjennskap til kompetansemålene som omhandler svømmeopplæring utendørs, og disse målene var ikke implementert ved de to skolene som var valgt ut i min studie. Det er behov mer forskningsbasert kunnskap om innføringen av de nye kompetansekravene i svømming. Spesielt studier som belyser samarbeidet mellom instruktører og lærere i undervisningen. Det vil også være viktig å få frem kunnskap om hvordan det arbeides med de nye kompetansekravene i andre fylker, både oversiktsstudier med kartlegginger, men også studier som får frem erfaringer fra lærere og elever. The physical education (PE) subject has been through many curriculum revisions after the Knowledge Promotion Reform (LK06) came in 2006. The last revision that added new qualifications requirements for swimming was introduced in 2017, when the government launched an initiative called “Svømmepakken”. This initiative is compiled of six different measures which aims to improve the swimming education in the primary and lower secondary school. These new qualifications requirements have sparked several discussions about which didactic model or approach is best suited for teaching children how to swim. Some municipalities have for instance chosen to move the swimming education out of the Physical Education subject and given other organizations the responsibility. There are few or lacking empirical data on how this new commitment is solved didactically. Knowledge about how the school leaders, teachers and most importantly the pupils are experiencing this training is important to highlight. The research question was therefore set to: “How is the introduction of the new qualifications requirement in swimming perceived by the school leaders, physical education teachers and pupils?”. Working with this research question a qualitative research method was used by interviewing school leaders and Physical education teachers in two schools. In additional to this, a focus group interview with pupils from each of the schools was completed to give an even better insight. The research in this study is based on theory, and the didactic relation model was used as a theoretical framework. The results showed that several of the informants experienced these lessons as an “assembly line” where the only goals were to achieve good test results. The PE teachers experienced instructors with few educational skills along with having a lacking knowledge about the pupil’s preconditions. This lead to a large gap in how the instructors were treating the pupils, along with an inadequate relationship between instructor and the pupil. Further on the results showed that the main content of the lessons was teaching and training on techniques inside in pools. Several of the informants had no knowledge of the competence objectives regarding outdoor swimming, and these objectives were not implemented in the two schools that were chosen for this study. There is a need for more research-based knowledge about the implementation of the new qualification requirements in swimming, especially studies which highlight the cooperation between instructors and physical education teachers. It will also be important to know how other counties are working with the new qualification requirements, not only by overview studies with surveys but also with studies that highlights the experiences from teachers and pupils.
