Abstract Background Understanding the psychosocial factors influencing self-management behaviors among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) is crucial for effective medical interventions and improving their quality of life. However, few studies have explored the psychosocial mechanisms influencing self-management behaviors among PLWHA in China. This study, conducted in accordance with STROBE guidelines, uses SEM to explore the roles of social support, self-efficacy, and self-esteem in predicting self-management behaviors among Chinese PLWHA. Methods From March 2023 to July 2023, a convenience sample of 282 PLWHA, recruited from one designated AIDS hospital and one Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Sichuan Province, China, was surveyed. Data were collected via four validated self-report scales (the Social Support Rating Scale, the General Self-Efficacy Scale, the Self-Esteem Scale, and the HIV/AIDS Patient Self-Management Scale). Structural equation modeling was used to assess the relationships among social support, self-efficacy, self-esteem, and self-management behaviors. Results The new model demonstrated acceptable fit parameters (χ 2 /df = 2.15, GFI = 0.96, AGFI = 0.93, CFI = 0.93, IFI = 0.94, RMSEA = 0.05). Abstract This phase 3, observer-blinded, non-inferiority randomized trial (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT05517642), conducted from September 2022 to May 2023 at three Malaysian sites, involved 540 adults previously vaccinated with three COVID-19 doses. Participants were randomized 1:1 to receive either one dose of inhaled Recombinant COVID-19 Vaccine (Ad5-nCoV-IH) or intramuscular tozinameran (BNT-IM). The study assessed safety, vaccine efficacy (VE) and immunogenicity against SARS-CoV-2 variants. The primary outcome was the non-inferiority of anti-spike protein receptor-binding domain (S-RBD IgG) antibodies, with a 97.5% confidence interval lower limit for the geometric mean concentration (GMC) ratio >0.67. Ad5-nCoV-IH showed lower immunogenicity than BNT-IM, with a GMC ratio of 0.22 and a seroconversion rate difference of -71.91%. Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) were less frequent with Ad5-nCoV-IH (39.26%) compared to BNT-IM (64.68%). No serious vaccine-related adverse events were reported. Abstract Background Intensive Care Unit nurses are related to the medical quality and life outcome of critically ill patients. In the context of nurse shortage, it is of great significance to reduce the turnover intention of Intensive Care Unit nurses. Inclusive Leadership, organizational-based self-esteem and Interactional Justice are important factors affecting the turnover intention of Intensive Care Unit nurses. However, for the special group of Intensive Care Unit nurses, there are few studies that explore the associations between these factors. This study explores the effect of inclusive leadership on the turnover intention of Intensive Care Unit nurses and the potential mediation through organizational-based self-esteem and interactional justice. Method A cross-sectional study design was used to investigate 460 Intensive Care Unit nurses in 4 general hospitals in northern China. The scales used in this study include the inclusive leadership scale, the organization-based self-esteem scale, the interactional justice scale and the turnover intention scale. SPSS 27.0 was used for descriptive analysis and Pearson correlation analysis. AMOS 25.0 was used to construct structural equation model and Bootstrap test. Objective To use Fab segments of autoantibodies to bind to autoantigens on red blood cells in order to block the binding of intact autoantibodies to the autoantigens. Methods The pure autoantibodies were obtained from the serum of patients by absorption and elution test, then Fab segments were obtained by hydrolyzing IgG autoantibodies at 37℃ overnight with papain enzyme. The Fab segments were used to bind the corresponding autoantigens specifically, thus blocking the binding of intact autoantibodies to autoantigens. Results The pure autoantibodies obtained through absorption and elution test were all hydrolyzed by papain to generate Fab fragments. When mixed with intact autoantibodies in their respective elution solutions, these Fab fragments were able to block the binding of intact autoantibodies to red blood cell autoantigens. Among the three samples, there was a mutual blocking effect between sample 1 and sample 2, while no mutual blocking effect was observed between sample 2 and sample 3. Conclusion Fab segment of autoantibody can eliminate the agglutination of intact autoantibodies and erythrocyte autoantigens, and can be applied to clinical practice to solve clinical problems.

Abstract Cadmium is a toxic heavy metal found in acid mine drainage. It hinders plant and animal growth and accumulates in human organs. In this study, through shake flask experiments, an iron-rich, sulphate-rich environment was simulated, and Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans was used to mediate the formation of secondary high-iron minerals to explore the effect of calcium ions on the removal of Cd2+ from that environment. Four treatment systems were used: “Blank”, “Ca2+-30 mg/L”, “Fe/K = 3,Ca2+-30 mg/L”, and “Fe/K = 3”. The results showed that Cd2+ with an initial concentration of 20 mg/L was effectively removed in each treatment system. The removal efficiencies of Cd2+ in each treatment were 23.46%, 18.42%, 52.88%, and 45.76% respectively. The quantity and type of minerals determined the removal efficiency of Cd2+. The Fe/K = 3 treatment system can significantly increase the amount of mineral formation and improve the removal efficiency of Cd2+. In the Ca2+-30 mg/L, Fe/K = 3 treatment system, the biological oxidation ability was the strongest, and the removal effect of Cd2+ was the best under the combined action of K+ and Ca2+. Co-precipitation was the main way to remove Cd2+ during the formation of biogenic secondary iron minerals, and the removal amount was 5.64 to 14.83 times that of adsorption. Biogenetic secondary iron minerals showed high values in repairing heavy metal pollution. This study provides a theoretical basis for treating heavy metals in acid mine drainage.

Abstract Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a disorder of low bone mass and increased fracture risk due to a range of genetic variants that prominently include mutations in genes encoding type I collagen. While it is well known that OI reflects defects in the activity of bone-forming osteoblasts, it is currently unclear whether OI also reflects defects in the many other cell types comprising bone, including defects in skeletal vascular endothelium or the skeletal stem cell populations that give rise to osteoblasts and whether correcting these broader defects could have therapeutic utility. Here, we find that numbers of skeletal stem cells (SSCs) and skeletal arterial endothelial cells (AECs) are augmented in Col1a2 oim/oim mice, a well-studied animal model of moderate to severe OI, suggesting that disruption of a vascular SSC niche is a feature of OI pathogenesis. Moreover, crossing Col1a2 oim/oim mice to mice lacking a negative regulator of skeletal angiogenesis and bone formation, Schnurri 3 (SHN3), not only corrected the SSC and AEC phenotypes but moreover robustly corrected the bone mass and spontaneous fracture phenotypes. As this finding suggested a strong therapeutic utility of SHN3 inhibition for the treatment of OI, a bone-targeting AAV was used to mediate Shn3 knockdown, rescuing the Col1a2 oim/oim phenotype and providing therapeutic proof-of-concept for targeting SHN3 for the treatment of OI. Overall, this work both provides proof-of-concept for inhibition of the SHN3 pathway and more broadly addressing defects in the stem/osteoprogenitor niche as is a strategy to treat OI.

Abstract Day-Night imaging technology that obtains full-color and infrared images has great market demands for security monitoring and autonomous driving. The current mainstream solution relies on wide-spectrum silicon photodetectors combined with Infrared Cutfilter Removal, which increases complexity and failure rate. Here, we address these challenges by employing a perovskite photodetector based on Pb−Sn alloyed single crystal with a vertical bandgap-graded structure that presents variable-spectrum responses at different biases and extends the infrared detection range close to 1100 nm. Taking advantage of the Pb−Sn gradients in mobility and built-in field, the perovskite photodetector shows a large linear dynamic range of 177 dB. In addition, the optoelectronic characteristics feature long-term operational stability over a year. We further develop an imaging module prototype without Infrared Cutfilter Removal that exhibits excellent color fidelity with RGB color differences ranging from 0.48 to 2.46 under infrared interference and provides over 26-bit grayscale resolution in infrared imaging.

Abstract Most electrocatalysts are known to experience structural change during the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) process. Considerable endeavors have been dedicated thus far to comprehending the catalytic process and uncovering the underlying mechanism. During the dynamic evolution of catalyst structure, component leaching of electrocatalysts is the most common phenomenon. This article offers a concise overview of recent findings and developments related to the leaching phenomena in the OER process in terms of fundamental understanding of leaching, advanced characterization techniques used to investigate leaching, leaching of inactive components, and leaching of active components. Leaching behaviors and the induced effects in various kinds of OER catalysts are discussed, progress in manipulating leaching amount/degree toward a tunable surface evolution is spotlighted, and finally, three representative types of structure transformations induced by leaching metastable species in OER condition are proposed. By understanding the process of component leaching in the OER, it will provide more guidance for the rational design of superior electrocatalysts.

Rechargeable zinc-air batteries (ZABs) have gained extensive research attention as a promising sustainable energy technology due to their considerable theoretical specific energy density, low toxicity, abundant availability, and robust safety features. However, the practical implementation of ZABs still faces challenges, primarily attributed to the sluggish kinetics of oxygen-involved reactions, including oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) during the discharge and charge process. Therefore, searching for efficient bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts is crucial to address these challenges. Dual-atom catalysts (DACs), an extension of single-atom catalysts (SACs), exhibit flexible architectures that allow for the combination of homogeneous and/or heterogeneous active sites, making them highly attractive for improving bifunctional activity. In this review, we first introduce the basic framework of ZABs and the structural characteristics of DACs. Subsequently, we organize the research progress on applying DACs in liquid and solid-state ZABs and elaborate on their unique catalytic mechanism. Finally, we highlight the challenges and future research directions for further innovation of DACs in ZABs. In summary, this review highlights the advantages of DACs compared with SACs used as bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts and provides a reference for the broad applications of DACs in energy conversion and storage.

In advancing the practical application of photocatalytic degradation for pollutant removal, batch preparation of environmentally friendly photocatalysts plays a crucial role. Herein, we prepared C/P co-doped urchin-like TiO2 (C/P–TiO2) through a straightforward room temperature impregnation and atmospheric annealing process. Phytic acid served as the dopant precursor for introducing C and P onto the TiO2 surface. This doping process was verified through energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), electron spin resonance (ESR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. The C/P–TiO2 photocatalyst exhibited exceptional efficiency in degrading the target compound trimethoprim (TMP), achieving a degradation of 98% TMP within 60 min and a mineralization of 40% TMP within 120 min, which were respectively 2.4 and 1.6 times higher than that of pristine TiO2. The intermediate products of TMP were detected, and a plausible degradation pathway was proposed. Photoelectric characterization results also confirmed that C/P co-doping could effectively enhance the carrier separation efficiency of C/P–TiO2. The catalysts prepared using the scaled-up impregnation system and reusing the phytic acid solution consistently demonstrated stable catalytic performance, which confirmed the viability of the method for green and batch preparation of C/P co-doped TiO2. Notably, the obtained catalyst consistently exhibited high degradation efficacy in various real water bodies, highlighting its substantial potential for practical application. The green and batch preparation method of C/P–TiO2 introduces a novel approach to the practical application of photocatalysis technology in treatment of water contaminants.

Jupiter-Trojan asteroids, as fossils of planet formation, orbiting the Sun in Jupiter's stable Lagrange points, provide a unique and critical insight into planetary origins, the sources of volatiles and organics on the terrestrial planets, and the evolution of the planetary system as a whole. To present, Jupiter-Trojan asteroids have only been observed through remote spectroscopic measurements using ground-based telescopes or space telescopes, and they remain one of the most enigmatic groups of celestial bodies. In the past decade, significant advances in understanding their physical and spectral properties have been made, and there has been a revolution in thinking about the origin and evolution of Trojans. Fine-grained silicates that appear to be similar to cometary silicates have gradually replaced water ice and organics as a significant component of the surface composition of Trojan asteroids, and a color bimodality may indicate distinct compositional groups among the Trojans. Whereas Trojans had traditionally been thought to have formed near 5 AU, a new paradigm in which the Trojans formed in the proto-Kuiper Belt, were scattered inward, and then captured in the Trojan swarms as a result of resonant interactions of the giant planets has developed. There are significant differences between the currently determined physical properties of Trojans and Kuiper Belt objects. These differences may be indicative of surface modification attributable to the inward migration of the objects that became the Trojans. The upcoming Lucy mission will provide a unique opportunity to conduct close-up exploration of these enigmatic small celestial bodies, potentially yielding evidence important for unraveling the mysteries surrounding the origin and evolution of Jupiter-Trojan asteroids. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the observational history, physical and spectral properties, material composition, and formation and evolution of Jupiter-Trojan asteroids, as well as an introduction to the goals and objectives of the Lucy mission. This study provides support for potential future deep space exploration missions that may have the capacity of exploring asteroids.

BackgroundDisorders of consciousness (DoC) represent a spectrum of neurological conditions that pose significant treatment challenges. Percutaneous short-term spinal cord stimulation (SCS) has emerged as a promising experimental diagnostic treatment to assess and potentially improve consciousness levels. However, the effectiveness of this intervention is frequently compromised by the shift of electrodes, particularly in the cervical region, which can negatively affect therapeutic outcomes.MethodsThis retrospective study aimed to study if electrodes shift in percutaneous short-term SCS in patients with DoC would affect the outcome. We analyzed the relationship between electrode shift length and patient outcome, as well as the correlation with various anatomical parameters, including the actual length of the cervical spine, linear length, spinal canal transverse diameter, spinal canal diameter, and C2 cone height, in a cohort of patients undergoing the procedure.ResultsOur findings revealed that in patients with better outcome, there are significant less patient with electrode shift (p = 0.019). Further, a linear correlation was found between the length of electrode shift and patients’ outcome (Rho = 0.583, p = 0.002), with longer shift lengths associated with poorer outcomes. Contrary to our expectations, there was no significant association between the measured anatomical parameters and the extent of electrode shift. However, a trend was found between the actual length of the cervical spine and the shift of the electrode (p = 0.098). Notably, the shorter spinal canal transverse diameter was found to be significantly associated with better outcome in patients with DoC receiving percutaneous short-term SCS (p = 0.033).ConclusionThese results highlight the clinical importance of electrode stability in the cervical region during SCS treatment for patients with DoC. Ensuring secure placement of electrodes may play a crucial role in enhancing patients’ outcome and minimize postoperative complications. Given the lack of association with expected anatomical parameters, future research should investigate other factors that could impact electrode stability to optimize this therapeutic intervention.

Highlights A simple two-step multi-element co-doping strategy is proposed to fabricate core-shell structured LiCoO2 based on the different diffusivities of dopant ions. The high diffusivity Al3+/Mg2+ ions occupy the core of single-crystal grain while the low diffusivity Ti4+ ions enrich the shell layer. In-situ XRD demonstrates the mitigated structural distortion under a high cut-off voltage of 4.6 V, resulting in a significantly improved cycling stability.

Monocyte/macrophages constitute a significant population of tumor-infiltrating immune cells and play a crucial role in tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. B7-H3, has immune regulatory functions, however, it is unclear whether B7-H3 expressed on monocyte/macrophages plays a significance role in tumor progression. We found B7-H3 was high-expressed on monocyte/macrophages in tumor microenvironment compared with adjacent tissues in lung cancer, and its expression level was positively correlated with the number of monocyte/macrophages. Furthermore, the expression of B7-H3 was related to clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. Moreover, miR-29a-3p negatively regulated B7-H3, and the expression of B7-H3 on THP-1-derived macrophages was regulated by secreting exosomes containing miR-29a-3p. In addition, knockdown of B7-H3 promoted macrophage apoptosis under hypoxia. Mechanistically, B7-H3 enhanced the antiapoptotic ability of macrophage by up-regulating HIF-1ɑ via activating NF-κB. Taken together, these results imply that B7-H3 as a therapeutic target could hold promise for enhancing anti-tumor immune responses in individuals diagnosed with lung cancer.

Abstract Aims This study aimed to investigate the associations between perfectionism and undergraduate nursing students' academic procrastination, the mediating effects of self‐efficacy and the moderating role of resilience. Design A cross‐sectional survey. Methods The survey was conducted from March to May 2022 with a sample of 587 undergraduate nursing students in two undergraduate universities in China. A descriptive statistical approach, Pearson's correlation analysis and the Hayes' PROCESS Macro model 4 and 14 were used to analyse the available data. Results Adaptive perfectionism and maladaptive perfectionism negatively and positively predicted academic procrastination in nursing undergraduates, respectively. Self‐efficacy played a partially mediating role in the association between adaptive perfectionism and academic procrastination. Furthermore, resilience played a moderating role in the association between adaptive perfectionism and academic procrastination. Conclusions Maladaptive perfectionism and low levels of resilience and self‐efficacy may increase the risk of academic procrastination among nursing undergraduates. Nursing educators can take measures to decrease the risk of academic procrastination among nursing undergraduate students by guiding them to cultivate adaptive perfectionism tendencies and improve their self‐efficacy and resilience. Impact The findings of this study can be used to develop targeted coping and prevention measures for nursing educators to reduce the incidence of academic procrastination among nursing undergraduates. Acid mine drainage (AMD), containing large quantities of heavy metals and acidic components, poses a severe threat to the environment and human health. Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans (A. ferrooxidans) plays a crucial role in the treatment of AMD, but its activity is significantly influenced by environmental conditions. This study systematically analyzes the stress effect of high phosphorus concentration on A. ferrooxidans during AMD treatment and its biomineralization effect. The results indicate that with phosphorus concentrations ranging from 0 g/L to 2 g/L, the system’s pH and Fe2+ oxidation rate initially decrease and then increase, with higher phosphorus concentrations delaying the time of increase. When the phosphorus concentration exceeds 2 g/L, both pH and Fe2+ oxidation rates generally show a downward trend. The morphology and elemental composition of the precipitates obtained under different phosphorus concentrations exhibit significant differences, indicating that phosphorus concentration notably affects the oxidation activity of A. ferrooxidans and its mediated biomineralization process. Under high phosphorus concentrations, the activity of A. ferrooxidans is inhibited, hindering the Fe2+ oxidation process and resulting in the formation of a large quantity of amorphous ferric phosphate precipitates. The findings provide a scientific basis for optimizing AMD treatment technologies, suggesting that reasonable control of phosphorus concentration in practical applications can improve AMD treatment efficiency and pretreatment effects.

Background: Protein-based pneumococcal vaccines (PBPVs) may offer expanded protection against Streptococcus pneumoniae and tackle the antimicrobial resistance crisis in pneumococcal infections. This study examined the safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults vaccinated with three doses of a protein-based pneumococcal vaccine containing pneumococcal surface protein A (PspA) (PRX1, P3296 and P5668) and in combination with a recombinant detoxified pneumolysin protein (PlyLD). Methods: This phase Ia randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled clinical study enrolled healthy adults aged 18–49 years. The participants were randomized into experimental (low-dose, medium-dose, high-dose) and placebo groups in a ratio of 3:1. Three doses of investigational vaccine were given to the participants with an interval of two months. Safety endpoints included the occurrence of total adverse reactions, solicited local and systemic adverse reactions, unsolicited adverse reactions, serious adverse events (SAEs), and several laboratory parameters. Immunogenicity endpoints included geometric mean titers (GMT) of anti-PspA (PRX1, P3296 and P5668) and anti-PlyLD antibodies level as determined by ELISA, seropositivity rates of PspA and PlyLD antibodies (>4-fold increase) and neutralization activity of anti-Ply antibody in serum. Results: A total of 118 participants completed the study of three doses. The candidate PBPV was safe and well-tolerated in all experimental groups. No vaccine-related SAEs were observed in this study. Most solicited adverse reactions were mild and transient. The most frequently reported solicited adverse reactions in the medium- and high-dose groups was pain at the injection site, while in the low-dose group it was elevated blood pressure. The immunogenicity data showed a sharp increase in the GMT level of anti-PspA-RX1, anti-PspA-3296, anti-PspA-5668, and anti-PlyLD antibodies in serum. The results also showed that the elicited antibodies were dosage-dependent. The high-dose group showed a higher immune response against PspA-RX1, PspA-3296, PspA-5668, and PlyLD antigens. However, repeat vaccination did not increase the level of anti-PspA antibodies but the level of anti-PlyLD antibody. High seropositivity rates were also observed for anti-PspA-RX1, anti-PspA-3296, anti-PspA-5668, and anti-PlyLD antibodies. In addition, a significant difference in the GMT levels of anti-Ply antibody between the high-, medium-, and low-dose groups post each vaccination were indicated by neutralization activity tests. Conclusions: The PBPV showed a safe and immunogenic profile in this clinical trial. Taking into consideration both safety and immunogenicity data, we propose a single dose of 50 µg (medium dose) of PBPV as the optimum approach in providing expanded protection against Streptococcus pneumoniae.

From an engineering standpoint, investigating the effects of rotation speed and fulvic acid concentration on the development of secondary high-iron minerals is crucial for treating acid mine drainage. The Fe2+ oxidation mechanism by Acidithiobacillus (A.) ferrooxidans to synthesise secondary high-iron minerals was examined in this study using shaking flask tests under various conditions: fulvic acid concentrations of 0, 0.2, or 0.4 g/L and rotation speeds of 180 r/min or 100 r/min. The pH, Fe2+ oxidation rate, total iron precipitation rate, secondary high-iron mineral functional groups and ore equivalent indicators were also investigated. The results demonstrated that at a fulvic acid concentration of 0 g/L, the pH decreased from 2.5 to 2.17 at 180 r/min. At 0.2 g/L, it decreased from 2.5 to 2.05. Finally, at 0.4 g/L, it decreased from 2.5 to 2.07. Fe2+ was completely oxidised after 48 h, and the final total iron precipitation rate ranged from 26.2% to 33.4%. The synthesised secondary high-iron minerals were uniformly dispersed in the solution. When the rotation speed was 100 r/min, the pH reduced from 2.5 to 2.25 at a fulvic acid concentration of 0 g/L, from 2.5 to 2.14 at 0.2 g/L, and from 2.5 to 2.19 at 0.4 g/L. Notably, Fe2+ was completely oxidised within 72 h. The experiment’s final iron precipitation rate ranged from 23.6 to 29.6%. The synthesised secondary high-iron minerals were blocky and adhered to the bottom of the shaking flask. In summary, at a rotation speed of 180 r/min or 100 r/min, the Fe2+ oxidation rate and total iron precipitation rate of the experimental group with a fulvic acid concentration of 0.2 g/L were higher than those of the control group and the experimental group with a fulvic acid concentration of 0.4 g/L. A fulvic acid concentration of 0.2 g/L enhanced the activity of A. ferrooxidans. The minerals obtained from these experiments were characterised and identified as schwertmannite and jarosite.

Aroma is one of the key factors for evaluating the quality of green tea. A tender aroma (NX) and floral-like aroma (HX) are two types of high-quality aroma of green tea. In this work, the different aroma types of baked green tea were classified by sensory evaluation. Then, seven tea samples with a typical tender or floral-like aroma were selected for further volatile component analysis by GC-MS. A total of 43 aroma compounds were identified in two different aroma types of baked green tea samples. The PCA showed that linalool, geraniol, 3-hexenyl butyrate, and 3-hexenyl hexanoate were the major volatiles contributing to the HX. On the other hand, most of the alcohol volatiles, such as 1-octanol, 1-octen-3-ol, 1-dodecanol, 1-hexadecanol, phenylethyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, aldehydes and some hydrocarbons contributed more to the NX. In addition, the chemical composition analysis showed that the content of free amino acids was higher in NX green tea samples, while the content of catechins was relatively higher in HX tea samples. A proteomic analysis revealed that most of the enzymes involved in VPBs pathways, such as phenylalanine ammonialyase, peroxidase, and shikimate-O-hydroxycinnamoyl transferase, were more abundant in NX than in HX tea samples. These results laid a foundation for the aroma formation mechanism of different aroma types of baked green tea and provided some theoretical guidance for the breeding of specific aroma varieties.

Wireless sensor technology advancements have made soil moisture wireless sensor networks (SMWSNs) a vital component of precision agriculture. However, the humidity nodes in SMWSNs have a weak ability in information collection, storage, calculation, etc. Hence, it is essential to reasonably pursue task allocation for SMWSNs to improve the network benefits of SMWSNs. However, the task allocation of SMWSNs is an NP (Non-deterministic Polynomial)-hard issue, and its complexity becomes even higher when constraints such as limited computing capabilities and power are taken into consideration. In this paper, a novel differential evolution adaptive elite butterfly optimization algorithm (DEAEBOA) is proposed. DEAEBOA has significantly improved the task allocation efficiency of SMWSNs, effectively avoided plan stagnation, and greatly accelerated the convergence speed. In the meantime, a new adaptive operator was designed, which signally ameliorates the accuracy and performance of the algorithm. In addition, a new elite operator and differential evolution strategy are put forward to markedly enhance the global search ability, which can availably avoid local optimization. Simulation experiments were carried out by comparing DEAEBOA with the butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA), particle swarm optimization (PSO), genetic algorithm (GA), and beluga whale optimization (BWO). The simulation results show that DEAEBOA significantly improved the task allocation efficiency, and compared with BOA, PSO, GA, and BWO the network benefit rate increased by 11.86%, 5.46%, 8.98%, and 12.18% respectively.

Abstract Background DFR is a crucial structural gene in plant flavonoid and polyphenol metabolism, and DFR knockout (DFR-KO) plants may have increased biomass accumulation. It is uncertain whether DFR-KO has comparable effects in tobacco and what the molecular mechanism is. We employed the CRISPR/Cas9 method to generate a knockout homozygous construct and collected samples from various developmental phases for transcriptome and metabolome detection and analysis. Results DFR-KO turned tobacco blossoms white on homozygous tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) plants with both NtDFR1 and NtDFR2 knockout. RNA-seq investigation of anthesis leaf (LF), anthesis flower (FF), mature leaf (LM), and mature root (RM) variations in wild-type (CK) and DFR-KO lines revealed 2898, 276, 311, and 101 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), respectively. DFR-KO primarily affected leaves during anthesis. According to KEGG and GSEA studies, DFR-KO lines upregulated photosynthetic pathway carbon fixation and downregulated photosystem I and II genes. DFR-KO may diminish tobacco anthesis leaf photosynthetic light reaction but boost dark reaction carbon fixation. DFR-KO lowered the expression of pathway-related genes in LF, such as oxidative phosphorylation and proteasome, while boosting those in the plant–pathogen interaction and MAPK signaling pathways, indicating that it may increase biological stress resistance. DFR-KO greatly boosted the expression of other structural genes involved in phenylpropanoid production in FF, which may account for metabolite accumulation. The metabolome showed that LF overexpressed 8 flavonoid metabolites and FF downregulated 24 flavone metabolites. In DFR-KO LF, proteasome-related genes downregulated 16 amino acid metabolites and reduced free amino acids. Furthermore, the DEG analysis on LM revealed that the impact of DFR-KO on tobacco growth may progressively diminish with time. Conclusion The broad impact of DFR-KO on different phases and organs of tobacco development was thoroughly and methodically investigated in this research. DFR-KO decreased catabolism and photosynthetic light reactions in leaves during the flowering stage while increasing carbon fixation and disease resistance pathways. However, the impact of DFR-KO on tobacco growth steadily declined as it grew and matured, and transcriptional and metabolic modifications were consistent. This work offers a fresh insight and theoretical foundation for tobacco breeding and the development of gene-edited strains.

Tobacco plants (Nicotiana tabacum L.) exhibit considerable potential for phytoremediation of soil cadmium (Cd) pollutants, owing to their substantial biomass and efficient metal accumulation capabilities. The reduction of Cd accumulation in tobacco holds promise for minimizing Cd intake in individuals exposed to cigar smoking. NRAMP transporters are pivotal in the processes of Cd accumulation and resistance in plants; however, limited research has explored the functions of NRAMPs in tobacco plants. In this investigation, we focused on NtNRAMP6c, one of the three homologs of NRAMP6 in tobacco. We observed a robust induction of NtNRAMP6c expression in response to both Cd toxicity and iron (Fe) deficiency, with the highest expression levels detected in the roots. Subsequent subcellular localization and heterologous expression analyses disclosed that NtNRAMP6c functions as a plasma membrane-localized Cd transporter. Moreover, its overexpression significantly heightened the sensitivity of yeast cells to Cd toxicity. Through CRISPR-Cas9-mediated knockout of NtNRAMP6c, we achieved a reduction in Cd accumulation and an enhancement in Cd resistance in tobacco plants. Comparative transcriptomic analysis unveiled substantial alterations in the transcriptional profiles of genes associated with metal ion transport, photosynthesis, and macromolecule catabolism upon NtNRAMP6c knockout. Furthermore, our study employed plant metabolomics and rhizosphere metagenomics to demonstrate that NtNRAMP6c knockout led to changes in phytohormone homeostasis, as well as shifts in the composition and abundance of microbial communities. These findings bear significant biological implications for the utilization of tobacco in phytoremediation strategies targeting Cd pollutants in contaminated soils, and concurrently, in mitigating Cd accumulation in tobacco production destined for cigar consumption.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) consistently ranks as one of the most challenging variants of squamous cell carcinomas, primarily due to the lack of effective early detection strategies. We herein aimed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and biological role associated with A-kinase anchoring protein 12 (AKAP12) in the context of ESCC. Bioinformatic analysis had revealed significantly lower expression level of AKAP12 in ESCC tissue samples than in their non-cancerous counterparts. To gain deeper insights into the potential role of AKAP12 in the progression of ESCC, we conducted a single-gene set enrichment analysis of AKAP12 on ESCC datasets. Our findings suggested that AKAP12 exhibits functions inhibiting cell cycle progression, tumor proliferation, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. To further validate our findings, we subjected ESCC cell lines to AKAP12 overexpression using CRISPR/Cas9-SAM. In vitro analyses demonstrated that increased expression of AKAP12 significantly reduced cell proliferation, migration, and cell cycle progression. Simultaneously, genes associated with this biological role undergo corresponding regulatory shifts. These observations provided valuable insights into the biological role played by AKAP12 in ESCC progression. In summary, AKAP12 shows promise as a new potential biomarker for early ESCC diagnosis, offering potential advantages for subsequent therapeutic intervention and disease management.

ABSTRACTAntibody persistence and safety up to 12 months of heterologous orally administered adenovirus type-5 vector-based COVID-19 vaccine (Ad5-nCoV) in individuals who were primed with two-dose inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (CoronaVac) previously, has not been reported yet. This randomized, open-label, single-centre trial included Chinese adults who have received two-dose CoronaVac randomized to low-dose or high-dose aerosolised Ad5-nCoV group, or CoronaVac group. In this report, we mainly evaluated the geometric mean titres (GMTs) of neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) against live wild-type SARS-CoV-2 virus and omicron BA.4/5 pseudovirus at 12 months after the booster dose and the incidence of serious adverse events (SAEs) till month 12. Of 419 participants, all were included in the safety analysis and 120 (28.64%) were included in the immunogenicity analysis. Abstract One of the major obstacles hindering the application of zinc metal batteries is the contradictory demands from the Zn metal anode and cathodes. At the anode side, water induces serious corrosion and dendrite growth, remarkably suppressing the reversibility of Zn plating/stripping. At the cathode side, water is essential because many cathode materials require both H+ and Zn2+ insertion/extraction to achieve a high capacity and long lifespan. Herein, an asymmetric design of inorganic solid-state electrolyte combined with hydrogel electrolyte is presented to simultaneously meet the as-mentioned contrary requirements. The inorganic solid-state electrolyte is toward the Zn anode to realize a dendrite-free and corrosion-free highly reversible Zn plating/stripping, and the hydrogel electrolyte enables consequent H+ and Zn2+ insertion/extraction at the cathode side for high performance. Therefore, there is no hydrogen and dendrite growth detected in cells with a super high-areal-capacity up to 10 mAh·cm−2 (Zn//Zn), ~5.5 mAh·cm−2 (Zn//MnO2) and ~7.2 mAh·cm−2 (Zn//V2O5). These Zn//MnO2 and Zn//V2O5 batteries show remarkable cycling stability over 1000 cycles with 92.4% and over 400 cycles with 90.5% initial capacity retained, respectively.

Abstract Aim To quantitatively synthesize the correlation between posttraumatic growth and resilience among breast cancer patients and explore the potential moderators affecting the relation. Design A meta‐analysis of cross‐sectional studies. Methods This meta‐analysis followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta‐Analyses 2020 guidelines. This meta‐analysis was carried out by searching Chinese and English databases of China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WANFANG DATA, Chongqing VIP Information Co., Ltd., PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and PsycINFO from inception to February 25, 2022. Pooled Pearson's correlation coefficients between posttraumatic growth and resilience was calculated by the Stata software (version 17.0) using the random effects model. This paper summarized the research status of ice avalanches at home and abroad, and reorganized the definition of ice avalanche disasters in Tibet; Analyzed the formation mechanism of ice avalanche from the topography, tectonic movement and climate; Summarized and analyzed the characteristics of three types of ice avalanche disaster chains. Ice avalanche- glacial lake outburst- debris flow chain disaster, ice avalanche-blocking and outburst - debris flow chain disaster, ice avalanche-debris flow (flash flood) chain disaster; Described the current methods and characteristics of ice avalanche disasters monitoring and warning, and it is believed that the trend is for a combination of multiple monitoring methods for ice avalanche disaster monitoring. The research system of ice avalanche disasters is prospected in order to provide ideas for future research work.

Effluent discharged from urban wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) is a major source of emerging contaminants (ECs) requiring effective regulation. To this end, we collected discharge datasets of pharmaceuticals (PHACs) and endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), representing two primary categories of ECs, from Chinese WWTP effluent from 2012 to 2022 to establish an exposure database. Moreover, high-risk ECs’ long-term water quality criteria (LWQC) were derived using the species sensitivity distribution (SSD) method. A total of 140 ECs (124 PHACs and 16 EDCs) were identified, with concentrations ranging from N.D. (not detected) to 706 μg/L. Most data were concentrated in coastal regions and Gansu, with high ecological risk observed in Gansu, Hebei, Shandong, Guangdong, and Hong Kong. Using the assessment factor (AF) method, 18 high-risk ECs requiring regulation were identified. However, only three of them, namely carbamazepine, ibuprofen, and bisphenol-A, met the derivation requirements of the SSD method. The LWQC for these three ECs were determined as 96.4, 1010, and 288 ng/L, respectively. Exposure data for carbamazepine and bisphenol-A surpassed their derived LWQC, indicating a need for heightened attention to these contaminants. This study elucidates the occurrence and risks of ECs in Chinese WWTPs and provides theoretical and data foundations for EC management in urban sewage facilities.

Longjing tea is favored by consumers due to its refreshing and delicate aroma, as well as its fresh and sweet flavor. In order to study the processing technology of Longjing tea with ‘Baiye 1’ tea varieties, solid phase microextraction and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry were used to analyze the volatile components of Longjing tea in different process stages. The results revealed the identification of 275 aroma metabolites in the processing samples of Longjing tea. The sensory evaluation and principal component analysis revealed that the leaves of fresh (XY) and spreading (TF) were different from the leaves of first panning (YQ), second panning (EQ), final panning (HG), and fragrance enhancing (TX). The relative contents of geraniol (1199.95 and 1134.51), linalool (745.93 and 793.98), methyl salicylate (485.22 and 314.67), phenylethyl alcohol (280.14 and 393.98), 2-methylfuran (872.28 and 517.96), 2-butenal (56.01 and 154.60), and 2-hexenal (46.22 and 42.24), refreshing and floral substances in the XY and TF stages, were higher than other stages. The aroma contents of 2-methylfuran, furfural, 2-methyl-1-penten-3-one, 3-hexen-2-one, dodecane, hexanoyl hexanoate, 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine, and methyl-pyrazine were found to be significantly positively correlated with the intensity of chestnut aroma. In conclusion, this study contributes to a better understanding of the composition and formation mechanism of chestnut-like aroma and provides new insights into the processing technology to improve the quality of albino green tea.

Abstract Background Biopsies obtained from primary oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) guide diagnosis and treatment. However, spatial intra‐tumoral heterogeneity (ITH) influences biopsy‐derived information and patient responsiveness to therapy. Here, we aimed to elucidate the spatial ITH of ESCC and matched lymph node metastasis (LNmet). Methods Primary tumour superficial (PTsup), deep (PTdeep) and LNmet subregions of patients with locally advanced resectable ESCC were evaluated using whole‐exome sequencing (WES), whole‐transcriptome sequencing and spatially resolved digital spatial profiling (DSP). To validate the findings, immunohistochemistry was conducted and a single‐cell transcriptomic dataset was analysed. Results WES revealed 15.72%, 5.02% and 32.00% unique mutations in PTsup, PTdeep and LNmet, respectively. Copy number alterations and phylogenetic trees showed spatial ITH among subregions both within and among patients. Driver mutations had a mixed intra‐tumoral clonal status among subregions. Transcriptome data showed distinct differentially expressed genes among subregions. Background: Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) is widely acknowledged for its crucial role in the biological processes of various human cancers. MCF2L antisense RNA 1 (MCF2L-AS1) is a newly identified lncRNA, which remains unexplored in the context of cancer. Methods: MCF2L-AS1 expression was examined using qRT-PCR analysis. The impact of MCF2L-AS1 on LUAD cell growth was assessed through CCK-8, colony formation, EdU, caspase-3 activity, TUNEL, Western blot, and transwell assays. The interaction between miR-874-3p and MCF2L-AS1 or STAT3 was confirmed by RIP, luciferase reporter, and RNA pull-down assays. Results: Our study demonstrated the overexpression of MCF2L-AS1 in LUAD cells. Functionally, the silencing of MCF2L-AS1 hindered cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while promoting cell apoptosis. Notably, the depletion of MCF2L-AS1 was associated with decreased cisplatin resistance. Mechanistically, MCF2L-AS1 was identified as an upstream gene of miR-874-3p, negatively regulating its expression. Following this, STAT3, the downstream target of miR-874-3p, was identified. Additionally, the expression of STAT3 was inversely related to miR-874-3p and positively regulated by MCF2L-AS1. A restoration assay suggested that MCF2L-AS1 promoted LUAD cell growth by sponging miR-874-3p and modulating STAT3 expression. Intriguingly, STAT3 was subsequently confirmed as a transcription factor that binds to the MCF2L-AS1 promoter, thereby enhancing its transcription. Conclusions: The MCF2L-AS1/miR-874-3p/STAT3 feedback loop plays a significant role in LUAD cell growth and cisplatin resistance.

The loss of contact inhibition is a key step during carcinogenesis. The Hippo–Yes-associated protein (Hippo/YAP) pathway is an important regulator of cell growth in a cell density–dependent manner. However, how Hippo signaling senses cell density in this context remains elusive. Here, we report that high cell density induced the phosphorylation of spectrin α chain, nonerythrocytic 1 (SPTAN1), a plasma membrane–stabilizing protein, to recruit NUMB endocytic adaptor protein isoforms 1 and 2 (NUMB1/2), which further sequestered microtubule affinity–regulating kinases (MARKs) in the plasma membrane and rendered them inaccessible for phosphorylation and inhibition of the Hippo kinases sterile 20–like kinases MST1 and MST2 (MST1/2). WW45 interaction with MST1/2 was thereby enhanced, resulting in the activation of Hippo signaling to block YAP activity for cell contact inhibition. Importantly, low cell density led to SPTAN1 dephosphorylation and NUMB cytoplasmic location, along with MST1/2 inhibition and, consequently, YAP activation. Moreover, double KO of NUMB and WW45 in the liver led to appreciable organ enlargement and rapid tumorigenesis. Interestingly, NUMB isoforms 3 and 4, which have a truncated phosphotyrosine-binding (PTB) domain and are thus unable to interact with phosphorylated SPTAN1 and activate MST1/2, were selectively upregulated in liver cancer, which correlated with YAP activation. We have thus revealed a SPTAN1/NUMB1/2 axis that acts as a cell density sensor to restrain cell growth and oncogenesis by coupling external cell-cell contact signals to intracellular Hippo signaling.

BackgroundNicotiana tabacum is an important economic crop, which is widely planted in the world. Lignin is very important for maintaining the physiological and stress-resistant functions of tobacco. However, higher lignin content will produce lignin gas, which is not conducive to the formation of tobacco quality. To date, how to precisely fine-tune lignin content or composition remains unclear.ResultsHere, we annotated and screened 14 CCoAOMTs in Nicotiana tabacum and obtained homozygous double mutants of CCoAOMT6 and CCoAOMT6L through CRSIPR/Cas9 technology. The phenotype showed that the double mutants have better growth than the wild type whereas the S/G ratio increased and the total sugar decreased. Resistance against the pathogen test and the extract inhibition test showed that the transgenic tobacco has stronger resistance to tobacco bacterial wilt and brown spot disease, which are infected by Ralstonia solanacearum and Alternaria alternata, respectively. The combined analysis of metabolome and transcriptome in the leaves and roots suggested that the changes of phenylpropane and terpene metabolism are mainly responsible for these phenotypes. Furthermore, the molecular docking indicated that the upregulated metabolites, such as soyasaponin Bb, improve the disease resistance due to highly stable binding with tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase targets in Ralstonia solanacearum and Alternaria alternata.ConclusionsCAFFEOYL-COA 3-O-METHYLTRANSFERASE 6/6L can regulate the S/G ratio of lignin monomers and may affect tobacco bacterial wilt and brown spot disease resistance by disturbing phenylpropane and terpene metabolism in leaves and roots of Nicotiana tabacum, such as soyasaponin Bb.

Neurofeedback can be utilized to treat various neuropsychiatric disorders in children. However, therapists primarily set threshold values for neurofeedback training. Thus, the training effect becomes subjective owing to the experience of the therapist. A clinically inexperienced therapist could set inappropriate thresholds, rendering the training ineffective. In this study, an effective neurofeedback system that includes signal processing of large amount of electroencephalogram (EEG) data and auto thresholding and provides various training contents was developed. The system uses a method that determines optimal threshold values, which are significant for an effective neurofeedback system. The success or failure of the activation and inhibition of specific EEG frequencies was determined based on these threshold values. The system determined an optimal threshold value to obtain the target success rate using a numerical optimization technique. The success or failure feedback for the reward and inhibit EEG frequencies was generated using auto thresholding. This feedback was sent to the training contents by the inter-process communication module to control the contents. Most training content was implemented as serious video games by using a commercial game engine. Success feedback on reward EEG frequency leads to game progress. By contrast, failure feedback on inhibiting EEG frequency hinders game progress. Consequently, the user gains the self-regulation ability to enhance the reward EEG frequency and suppress the inhibit EEG frequency. A pilot study involving five children with attention deficiency was conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed system. The results demonstrated that the childrent’s attention improved after neurofeedback training.

The suitability of white tea made from 15 new tea varieties (lines) of Fuyun hybrid offspring were analyzed by sensory and chemical components evaluation, correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA). These 15 varieties were 'Fuyun 14', '791201', 'Fuyun 12-24', '730430', 'Fuyun 12-27', '780810', 'Fuyun 10-27', 'Meifeng', 'Fuyun 9-6', '790218', 'Fuyun 5-23', 'Fuyun 4-12', '740208', '790118', '780710', 'Fuding Dabai'. The control variety for suitability research was 'Fuding Dabai'. The quality characteristics of white tea made from new varieties (lines) were silver-white appearance, light green and bright soup color, fresh and sweet taste, prominent fragrance, and tender and tender leaves. The total sensory evaluation scores of white teas made from '790118', '790218' and 'Meifeng' varieties were lower than those of the control. The total sensory evaluation scores of white teas made from other 12 varieties were higher than those of the control variety. The sensory evaluation scores of teas made from 'Fuyun 4-12', 'Fuyun 10-27', and 'Fuyun 12-24' varieties were all above 93 points. The water extracts content and catechins content of teas made from 'Fuyun 4-12', 'Fuyun 10-27', 'Fuyun 12-24', '791201', 'Fuyun 14', '791201', '730430', 'Fuyun 12-27', 'Meifeng', 'Fuyun 9-6', '740208' and '790118' were significantly higher than those of 'Fuding Dabai' (P

Abstract Background How to kindle the learning enthusiasm of nursing students and reduce the incidence of academic procrastination is an important factor in reducing student attrition and improving the quality of nursing education. Objectives To investigate the mediating role of coping style and resilience on the association between parenting styles and academic procrastination among nursing undergraduates. Methods A cross-sectional study of 683 nursing undergraduates was conducted in China from March to May 2022. Parenting styles, coping style, resilience, and academic procrastination were measured using questionnaires. Descriptive analysis, Pearson’s correlation analysis and Hayes' PROCESS Macro in SPSS 25.0 were used to test the model. Results Positive parenting style had a significantly direct effect on academic procrastination and through three significantly indirect pathways: (1) through positive coping style (B = − 0.048, 95% CI: − 0.074 to − 0.025), accounting for 14.71% of the total effect; (2) through negative coping style (B = − 0.044, 95% CI: − 0.071 to − 0.021), accounting for 13.64% of the total effect; and (3) through resilience (B = − 0.074, 95% CI: − 0.107 to − 0.044), accounting for 22.82% of the total effect. Moreover, negative parenting style had a significantly direct effect on academic procrastination and through two significantly indirect pathways: (1) through negative coping style (B = 0.056, 95% CI: 0.032 to 0.086), accounting for 21.73% of the total effect, and (2) through resilience (B = 0.028, 95% CI: 0.004 to 0.055), accounting for 10.93% of the total effect. Conclusions Intervention measures to reduce the academic procrastination of nursing undergraduates should include the evaluations of coping styles and resilience of nursing students and cultivation strategies to promote their positive coping styles and resilience.

The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is an essential reaction in metal-air battery systems. However, the traditional noble metal Pt-based catalysts for ORR limit the commercial applications of air battery systems due to their high price, low abundance and poor tolerance. In recent studies, nitrogen–doped transition metal carbides have shown promise as an alternative to traditional noble metal catalysts. In this paper, the thermal cracking and calcination method was used to successfully obtain the growth N-doped carbon coated iron carbide nanoparticles (Fe3C@NC/rGOx NP) from assembly of carbon-coated iron oxide Nano-crystals on rGO (Fe3O4@NC/rGOx NCs). Transmission electron and scanning electron microscopy of the fabricated specimens indicated the presence of many carbon shells and pores in the etched samples. The electrochemical test results of the fabricated specimens suggested that the Fe3C@NC/rGO 100 NP annealed at 800 °C exhibited a better ORR behavior than that of Pt/C in a basic electrolyte.

Abstract Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) has attracted increasing attention due to its high detection rate, high risk and high repeatability. There is a need for the early identification of preventable occurrence factors, which is necessary to facilitate screening and intervention, especially to facilitate the early detection of high-risk individuals. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and lithium-sulfur (Li–S) batteries are two types of energy storage systems with significance in both scientific research and commercialization. Nevertheless, the rational design of electrode materials for overcoming the bottlenecks of LIBs and Li–S batteries (such as low diffusion rates in LIBs and low sulfur utilization in Li–S batteries) remain the greatest challenge, while two-dimensional (2D) electrodes materials provide a solution because of their unique structural and electrochemical properties. In this article, from the perspective of ab-initio simulations, we review the design of 2D electrode materials for LIBs and Li–S batteries. We first propose the theoretical design principles for 2D electrodes, including stability, electronic properties, capacity, and ion diffusion descriptors. Next, classified examples of promising 2D electrodes designed by theoretical simulations are given, covering graphene, phosphorene, MXene, transition metal sulfides, and so on. Finally, common challenges and a future perspective are provided. This review paves the way for rational design of 2D electrode materials for LIBs and Li–S battery applications and may provide a guide for future experiments.

PurposeTo assess the usefulness of amide proton transfer-weighted (APTw) imaging in the differentiation of parotid gland tumors.Materials and methodsPatients with parotid gland tumors who underwent APTw imaging were retrospectively enrolled and divided into groups according to pathology. Two radiologists evaluated the APTw image quality independently, and APTw images with quality score ≥3 were enrolled. The maximum and average values of APTw imaging for tumor lesions (APTmax and APTmean) were measured. The differences in APTmax and APTmean were compared between malignant tumors (MTs) and benign tumors (BTs), as well as between MTs and pleomorphic adenomas (PAs) and between MTs and Warthin tumors (WTs). Independent-samples t-test, Kruskal–Wallis H test, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analyses were used for statistical analysis.ResultsSeventy-three patients were included for image quality evaluation. In this study, 32/73 and 29/73 parotid tumors were scored as 4 and 3, respectively. After excluding lesions with quality score ≤2 (12/73), the APTmean and APTmax of MTs were 4.15% ± 1.33% and 7.43% ± 1.61%, higher than those of BTs 2.74% ± 1.04% and 5.25% ± 1.54%, respectively (p < 0.05). The areas under the ROC curve (AUCs) of the APTmean and APTmax for differentiation between MTs and BTs were 0.819 and 0.821, respectively. MTs indicated significantly higher APTmean and APTmax values than those of PAs (p < 0.05) and WTs (p < 0.05). The AUCs of the APTmean and APTmax for differentiation between MTs and PAs were 0.830 and 0.815 and between MTs and WTs were 0.847 and 0.920, respectively.ConclusionMost APTw images for parotid tumors had acceptable image quality for APTw value evaluation. Both APTmax and APTmean can be used to differentiate MTs from BTs and to differentiate MTs from subtype parotid gland tumors.

Abstract In view of global energy transition and environmental issues, electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) to high value‐added chemicals by using clean renewable electricity, as an advanced carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technology, demonstrates a promising approach to reach the carbon neutrality with additional economic benefits as well. Over the past decade, various new valid catalysts in electrochemical CO2 reduction (ECO2R) have been designed and intensively investigated. Unfortunately, constructing appropriate ECO2R electrolyzer with high conversion rate and long‐term stability to unleash the full potential benefits of electrocatalysts remains a recognized challenge, especially as it has not yet attracted attention. This review summarizes the progress of ECO2R reactor and their corresponding structure characteristics/ electrochemical performance. Besides, the current challenges and bottlenecks of CO2RR reactor are discussed. We aim to introduce the advances in ECO2R electrolyzer in detail to offer enlightenment for large‐scale industrial application of ECO2R.

BackgroundCoronary artery disease (CAD) is a main cause leading to increasing mortality of cardiovascular disease (CVD) worldwide. We aimed to discover marker genes and develop a diagnostic model for CAD.MethodsCAD-related target genes were searched from DisGeNET. Count expression data and clinical information were screened from the GSE202626 dataset. edgeR package identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Using online STRING tool and Cytoscape, protein-protein reactions (PPI) were predicted. WebGestaltR package was employed to functional enrichment analysis. We used Metascape to conduct module-based network analysis. VarElect algorithm provided genes-phenotype correlation analysis. Immune infiltration was assessed by ESTIMATE package and ssGSEA analysis. mRNAsi was determined by one class logistic regression (OCLR). A diagnostic model was constructed by SVM algorithm.Results162 target genes were screened by intersection 1,714 DEGs and 1,708 CAD related target genes. 137 target genes of the 162 target genes were obtained using PPI analysis, in which those targets were enriched in inflammatory cytokine pathways, such as chemokine signaling pathway, and IL-17 signaling pathway. From the above 137 target genes, four functional modules (MCODE1-4) were extracted. From the 162 potential targets, CAD phenotype were directly and indirectly associated with 161 genes and 22 genes, respectively. Finally, 5 hub genes (CCL2, PTGS2, NLRP3, VEGFA, LTA) were screened by intersections with the top 20, directly and indirectly, and genes in MCODE1. PTGS2, NLRP3 and VEGFA were positively, while LTA was negatively correlated with immune cells scores. PTGS2, NLRP3 and VEGFA were negatively, while LTA was positively correlated with mRNAsi. A diagnostic model was successfully established, evidenced by 92.59% sensitivity and AUC was 0.9230 in the GSE202625 dataset and 94.11% sensitivity and AUC was 0.9706 in GSE120774 dataset.ConclusionIn this work, we identified 5 hub genes, which may be associated with CAD development.

BackgroundAn accurate assessment of current trends in cardiovascular risks could inform public health policy. This study aims to determine 20-year trends in the prevalence of elevated cardiovascular risk and its risk factors' control among US adults.MethodsIn this serial cross-sectional analysis of 23,594 adults, aged 40–79 years, without clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2001 to 2020, we calculated the prevalence of elevated cardiovascular risk (10-year ASCVD risk ≥ 7.5%) for all participants and subgroups with their risk factors controlled for diabetes, hypertension, or dyslipidemia.ResultsThe age- and sex-adjusted prevalence of elevated cardiovascular risk slightly decreased from 41.5% (95% CI, 39.7–43.3%) in 2001–2004 to 38.6% (95% CI, 36.1–41.1%) in 2017–2020 (P for trend = 0.169) while the respective sex-adjusted prevalence significantly increased from 34.4% (95% CI, 32.8–36.0%) to 39.5% (95% CI, 37.0–42.0%; P for trend

BackgroundThe coexistence of Crohn's disease (CD) and acute appendicitis (AA) is rare. In this situation, therapeutic experience is lacking and the strategy is paradoxical and intractable. Appendectomy is the gold standard for the treatment of AA whereas a nonsurgical approach is recommended for CD.Case summaryA 17-year-old boy was hospitalized for right lower abdominal pain with fever of 3 days. He had the CD for 8 years. Two years ago, he underwent surgery for anal fistula with the complication of CD. His temperature was elevated at 38.3°C at admission. On physical examination, there was McBurney tenderness with mild rebound tenderness. Abdominal ultrasonography showed that the appendix was notably enlarged and dilated at 6.34 cm long and 2.76 cm wide. These findings were suggestive of uncomplicated AA in this patient with active CD. Endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (ERAT) was performed. The patient had complete pain relief immediately after the procedure without tenderness in the right lower abdomen. During 18 mo follow-up, he had no more attacks in his right lower abdomen.ConclusionERAT was effective and safe in a CD patient with coexisting AA. Such cases can avoid surgery and its-related complications.

China Xihu Longjing tea is famous for its good flavor and quality. However, information on its related metabolites, except for flavonoids, is largely deficient. Different processing methods for China Xihu Longjing tea fixing—by machines at both the first and second step (A1), first step by machine and second step by hand (A2), first step by hand and second step by machine (A3), and by hand at both the first and second step (A4)—were compared using a UHPLC–QE–MS-based metabolomics approach. Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry was used to analyze the metabolic profiles of the processed samples. A total of 490 metabolites (3 alkaloids, 3 anthracenes, 15 benzene and substituted derivatives, 2 benzopyrans, 13 coumarins and derivatives, 128 flavonoids, 4 furanoid lignans, 16 glycosides and derivatives, 5 indoles and derivatives, 18 isocoumarins and derivatives, 4 chalcones and dihydrochalcones, 4 naphthopyrans, 3 nucleosides, 78 organic acids and derivatives, 55 organooxygen compounds, 5 phenols, 109 prenol lipids, 3 saccharolipids, 3 steroids and steroid derivatives, and 17 tannins) were identified. The different metabolic profiles were distinguished using PCA and OPLS-DA. There were differences in the types and contents of the metabolites, especially flavonoids, furanoid lignans, glycosides and derivatives, organic acids and derivatives, and organooxygen compounds. There was a positive correlation between flavonoid metabolism and amino acid metabolism. However, there was a negative correlation between flavonoid metabolism and amino acid metabolism, which had the same trend as prenol lipid metabolism and tannins. This study provides new valuable information regarding differences in the metabolite profile of China Xihu Longjing tea processed based on machine fixing and on manual fixing methods.

Directional solidification of γ-TiAl alloys with abruptly varying cross-sections was performed in yttria molds using an electromagnetic cold crucible. The solid–liquid interface at different growth positions was revealed by quenching using a liquid metal coolant, and the temperature field was mapped with the assistance of a finite element simulation. On the basis of these findings, the process of grain growth was summarized. The columnar–equiaxed transition was found to occur during directional solidification, and a criterion for continuous growth was established, which demonstrates that increasing the withdrawing rate or decreasing the nucleation rate can promote continuous growth. The continuity of columnar grains is confirmed by analysis in orientation evolution which also reconstructs the orientation of α and β grains at elevated temperatures. The degree of directionality of microstructures at elevated temperatures is determined from the angle between the preferential growth direction and the actual growth direction of the β phase. It is found that the degree of directionality increases with increasing withdrawing rate and nucleation rate.

Abstract Potential natural vegetation (PNV) remains an important concept in ecology by providing the basis for comparing current or future conditions and trends in vegetation with historic conditions. However, nonstationary climate and land‐use‐driven deviations from baseline conditions challenge the validity of PNV at local scales or for locations that are especially sensitive to environmental changes, such as ecotonal boundaries between ecosystem types. Our goal was to identify the historic boundaries between major grassland types in the Central Great Plains (CGP) of North America (tallgrass prairie and northern and southern mixed‐grass prairies) by examining the environmental drivers of primary production prior to, during, and after the decades‐long drought in the 1930s. We sought to explore differences among grassland types in resistance and resilience to drought, and to evaluate legacy effects resulting from spatially explicit processes during drought. We used county‐level cropland production data from 1926 to 1948 as a proxy for native grass production data. We regressed production data against a suite of models containing variables associated with climate, soils, land use, and drought indices prior to, during, and after drought. We used a dimension reduction approach to identify the locations of grassland boundaries in multivariate space defined by each model. Our results show that climate and soil factors predicted grass production prior to the drought, yet additional land use and erosion factors were needed to explain production in both drought and post‐drought. Grassland responses were most variable along ecotonal boundaries. Tallgrass prairie exhibited stronger production responses to precipitation and temperature compared with northern and southern mixed‐grass prairies during all periods. Tallgrass prairie counties along the ecotone with mixed‐grass prairies were more negatively impacted by soil loss from abandoned cropland during the drought compared with other tallgrass prairie counties. As the intensity and frequency of drought are predicted to increase, landscape‐scale variables and spatially explicit processes that govern novel production responses will need to be accounted for in explaining heterogeneity in grassland responses.

Abstract Promoting industry applications of high‐energy Li metal batteries (LMBs) is of vital importance for accelerating the electrification and decarbonization of our society. Unfortunately, the time‐dependent storage aging of Ah‐level Li metal pouch cells, a ubiquitous but crucial practical indicator, has not yet been revealed. Herein, we first report the storage behaviors and multilateral synergistic aging mechanism of Ah‐level NCM811||Li pouch cells during the 120‐day long‐term storage under various conditions. Contrary to the conventional belief of Li‐ion batteries with graphite intercalation anodes, the significant available capacity loss of 32.8% on average originates from the major electrolyte‐sensitive anode corrosion and partial superimposed cathode degradation, and the irreversible capacity loss of 13.3% is essentially attributed to the unrecoverable interface/structure deterioration of NCM with further hindrance of the aged Li. Moreover, principles of alleviating aging have been proposed. This work bridges academia and industry and enriches the fundamental epistemology of storage aging of LMBs, shedding light on realistic applications of high‐energy batteries.
