Das Lehrbuch bearbeitet die Grundrechte des Grundgesetzes auf innovative Weise. Ein Team von Nachwuchswissenschaftler/-innen aus ganz Deutschland hat Grundlagenwissen für Studierende mit weiterführendem Wissen für Examenskandidat/-innen kombiniert. Auch kritische Stimmen und historisches Hintergrundwissen finden ihren Platz, werden für Studierende mit knappem Zeitbudget aber stets transparent gekennzeichnet. Das Lehrbuch arbeitet die europa- und völkerrechtlichen Verflechtungen der deutschen Rechtsordnung intensiv auf. Es nimmt pointiert zu aktuellen rechtspolitischen Debatten Stellung. Viele Beispiele und Verweise auf digitale, interaktive Übungen regen zum kritischen Denken und selbstständigen Lernen an. Das Lehrbuch wird ergänzt durch frei zugängliche Übungsfälle.Alle Kapitel lassen sich auf einer digitalen Plattform kommentieren. Als Initiative für offene Rechtswissenschaft (OpenRewi) sehen wir unsere Arbeit als Vorschlag – die Leser:innen sind ein Teil der Diskussion.

The Socio-Legal Lab: An Experiential Approach to Research on Law in Action” is an interactive workbook for socio-legal research projects. It employs the idea of a “lab” as a space for interactive and experiential learning. As an introductory book, it addresses researchers of all levels who are beginning to explore interdisciplinary research on law and are looking for guidance on how to do so. Likewise, the book can be used by teachers and peer groups to experiment with teaching and thinking about law in action through lab-based learning. The workbook is designed to accompany and inspire researchers on their way through a socio-legal research project. It thus covers themes and questions that may arise in the research process, ranging from socio-legal theory to methods and academic communication. While working through this content in an interactive manner, our aim is to empower the reader into thinking more creatively about their methods, while at the same time demystifying them.

Die Kamptokormie zählt zu den axialen Haltungsstörungen, die im Verlauf eines idiopathischen Parkinson-Syndroms auftreten können. Die Beurteilung ihres Schweregrades ist umstritten. Meist wird die Kamptokormie mit einem übermäßigen thorakolumbalen Flexionswinkel beschrieben. Der Winkel an sich sowie das Vorgehen bei seiner Messung sind viel diskutiert. In dieser Arbeit wird der prozentuale Körpergrößenverlust vom Liegen im Vergleich zum Stehen (BHL=body height loss) als ein einfaches und objektives Messinstrument zur Beurteilung des Schweregrades einer Kamptokormie vorgestellt. Camptocormia is an axial disorder of posture, which can develop in the course of Parkinson’s disease. The assessment of its severity is a matter of debate. Commonly it is described as an increased angle of thoracolumbar flexion. There are opposing views on the angle itself as well as the way to measure it. This paper describes the percent body height loss (BHL) from lying to standing position as an objective and simple measurement for the severity of camptocormia.

Background: Behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) is characterized by changes in personality and behavior and by progressive structural and functional alterations in frontal and temporal regions. Only little is known about the relationship of these alterations with the underlying pathophysiology. Here, we explored if these alterations follow the distribution of specific neurotransmitter systems.Methods: We evaluated if resting state activity alterations in bvFTD are associated with the known in vivo distribution of specific neurotransmitter systems. For this, maps of fractional amplitude of low frequency fluctuations (fALFF) as derived from resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging were computed for 52 bvFTD patients relative to 22 healthy controls (HC). We tested if these maps co-localize with the non-pathological distribution of specific neurotransmitter systems and their coding mRNA gene expression.Results: Compared to HC, patients displayed significantly reduced fALFF in fronto-temporal and fronto-parietal regions. These alterations significantly co-localized with the distribution of serotonin (5HT1b, 5HT2a), dopamine (D2), and gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAa) receptors, and the noradrenaline transporter (NAT) (all p≤.001). Significant co-localization of fALFF alterations was also observed with mRNA expression of genes encoding the respective receptors and transporters.Conclusion: We showed that fALFF reduction in bvFTD co-localize with the spatial distribution of serotonergic, dopaminergic, GABAergic, and noradrenalinergic systems, and their coding mRNA gene expression. These findings provide novel insight into neuropathophysiological mechanisms underlying functional alterations in bvFTD.

Schwester M. Martina, aufgewachsen als Gaby Merkle in Villingen, lebt seit vielen Jahren im Kloster Unserer Lieben Frau in Offenburg. Dort begleitete sie jahrelang junge Mädchen in den Klosterschulen, führte die Klostergemeinschaft in ein neues Jahrhundert und engagierte sich in und für die Stadt Offenburg und ihre Menschen.
