Abstract Background Many work activities such as leather tanning include hazards to work. Among these, biological hazards are particularly important and pose a serious problem to human health and environment. The aims of this study were to estimate the prevalence of dysuria and urinary tract infections among tannery workers and to identify their risk factors. Methods This observational survey was conducted among 220 tannery workers and 220 age-matched control group from Fez city in Morocco. Reported urinary symptoms, demographic and professional information were obtained by a standardized questionnaire collected from participants and were then compared among the two groups. Faced with the pandemic related to the dissemination of the new Coronavirus and the health emergency, Morocco decided to treat patients with Covid-19 with Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) or Chloroquine (CQ), associated with Azithromycin (AZM) according to a standardized therapeutic scheme, an off-label indication that required pharmacovigilance monitoring to ensure the safety of treated patients. Objective. To present the experience of the Hassan II University Hospital of Fez concerning the management of adverse events of the Covid19 therapeutic protocol. A notification form was made available to the nursing staff to be filled in for any adverse reaction (ADR) observed after the treatment was taken. A daily collection and in-depth analysis was performed. We present the results of the analysis of the data collected in our training between April 21 and August 22, 2020, discussing them with data from national and international databases. 102 ADR cases were collected out of 915 patients hospitalized at the UHC for Covid19 during this period with a prevalence of 11%. 23 patients had underlying defects. The incriminating protocol contained CQ in 55.8% and HCQ in 44.2%. The mean age of the patients was 40.83±17.1 years (18 to 86 years) with a M/F sex ratio of 0.92. The mean time to onset was 3 days (range 1-6 days). The most noted ADRs were digestive, cardiac and neurological. 14 cases were severe (one QT prolongation), 6 of which required transfer to an intensive care unit. The course of action adopted was the restoration of corrective treatment with 12 cases of treatment discontinuation and 8 cases of switching to 2nd line treatment.

In order to evaluate the perception of the use of plants by the population of the region of Fès-Boulemane (north-central of Morocco) a prospective study was conducted in this region. A questionnaire on the sociodemographic characteristics of the population, the knowledge of the toxic risk related to the use of plants and the methods of their use was used. The results of this study showed that 601 respondents (75.1%) practice herbal medicine and that 28% of them are illiterate. The choice of herbal medicine and products of the traditional pharmacopoeia was 57.2% linked to its efficiency and low cost. 14.8% of the plants used are known to be toxic and 96.7% of the total have a relative knowledge of the toxic plants. The oral route was the most preferred route of administration. Leaves were the most used part in traditional herbal medicine (27.5%). The decoction represented 39.9% of the mode of use followed by the infusion. The dose is generally approximate in 85.2%. The digestive disorders were most frequently mentioned. Phytochemical analyzes of the mixture were carried out by an assay by HPLC-DAD. The subacute toxicity studies were carried out by oral administration for 28 days, then the evaluations of the relative organ weights, biochemical, hematological, and histopathological analyzes were studied. The analyzes by HPLC-DAD showed the presence of gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, syringic acid, coumaric acid, sinapic acid, 4-Hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde, 3, 4 hydroxycinnamic acid and rutin. The assessment of subacute toxicity presented a statistically significant decrease in body weight and in the relative organ weight of rats treated with the dose of 500 mg / kg. After analyzing the biochemical and hematological parameters, the aqueous extract of the mixture showed functional renal and hepatic toxicity. Histologically, oral administration of the aqueous extract of the mixture at dose of 500 mg / kg showed a histological hepatic change, while the renal tissue presented no change. Les rhabdomyolyses d'origine toxique sont fréquentes. Plusieurs produits peuvent en être responsables (médicaments, drogues, alcool, monoxyde de carbone, venins, etc.) par une toxicité directe ou indirecte. Le diagnostic est clinicobiologique. Résumé: Nous rapportons le cas d'un jeune homme de 19 ans ayant ingéré un raticide, l'alphachloralose, et présentant un toxidrome compatible avec cette intoxication. L'analyse toxicologique des urines et du lavage d'estomac rapporte néanmoins l'ingestion de plusieurs toxiques (amphétamines, cannabis et benzodiazépines). L' Aloe vera est une plante utilisée, à travers tout le globe, en médecine traditionnelle. Elle est notamment employée pour soigner les brûlures, en particulier les coups de soleil, et pour lutter contre le vieillissement.
