The aim of this article is to study the Auslander algebra of any representation-finite string algebra. More precisely, we introduce the notion of gluing algebras and show that the Auslander algebra of a representation-finite string algebra is a quotient of a \gluing algebra of $\vec{A}^e_n $. As applications, the Auslander algebras of two classes of string algebras whose quivers are Dynkin types $A$ and $D$ are described. Moreover, the representation types of the above Auslander algebras are also given exactly.

Ether-based electrolytes exhibit excellent compatibility with Li metal anodes, but their instability at high voltages limits their use in high-voltage Li metal batteries. To address this issue, we introduce an alternative perfluorobutane sulfonate (LiPFBS) / dimethoxyethane (DME) electrolyte to stabilize DME in a 4.6 V Li-Li LCO battery. Our study focuses on the formation of solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) and cathode-electrolyte interphase (CEI) layers compared to the LiTFSI/DME electrolyte. We demonstrate that LiPFBS helps maintain DME's compatibility in SEI formation. Additionally, a durable CEI layer derived from PFBS$^{-}$ enhances the performance of the cell at high voltages by forming a robust, inorganic-dominant CEI layer. Let $(\mathscr{C},\mathbb{E},\mathfrak{s})$ be an $n$-exangulated category with enough projectives and enough injectives, and $\mathscr{X}$ be a cluster-tilting subcategory of $\mathscr{C}$. Liu and Zhou have shown that the quotient category $\mathscr{C}/\mathscr{X}$ is an $n$-abelian category. In this paper, we prove that if $\mathscr{C}$ has Auslander-Reiten $n$-exangles, then $\mathscr{C}/\mathscr{X}$ has Auslander-Reiten $n$-exact sequences. An axion-like spectator during inflation can trigger a tachyonic instability which amplifies the modes of one of the helicities of the gauge field, resulting in the production of parity-violating gravitational waves (GWs). In this paper we investigate the impact of the coupling $RFF$ of the gauge field to gravity on the production of GWs. We find that such a coupling introduces a multiplicative factor to the tachyonic mass, which effectively enhances the amplitude of the gauge field modes. Produced GWs are expected to be observed by future space-based GW detectors. In this article, we prove that if (A, B, C) is a recollement of abelian categories, then wakamatsu tilting (resp. weak support tau-tilting) subcategories in A and C can induce wakamatsu tilting (resp. weak support tau-tilting) subcategories in B, and the converses hold under natural assumptions. As an application, we mainly consider the relationship of tau-cotorsion torsion triples in (A, B, C).

In 1891, Hurwitz introduced the enumeration of genus $g$, degree $d$, branched covers of the Riemann sphere with simple ramification over prescribed points and no branching elsewhere. He showed that for fixed degree $d$, the enumeration possesses a remarkable structure. More precisely, it can be expressed as a linear combination of exponentials $m^{2g-2+2d}$, where $m$ ranges over the integers from $1$ to $\binom{d}{2}$. In this paper, we generalise this structural result to Hurwitz numbers that enumerate branched covers which also have a prescribed ramification profile over one point. Our proof fundamentally uses the infinite wedge space, in particular the connected correlators of products of $\mathcal{E}$-operators. The recent study of Hurwitz numbers has often focussed on their structure with fixed genus and varying ramification profile. Our main result is orthogonal to this, allowing for the explicit calculation and the asymptotic analysis of Hurwitz numbers in large genus. We pose the broad question of which other enumerative problems exhibit analogous structure. We prove that orbifold Hurwitz numbers can also be expressed as a linear combination of exponentials and conjecture that monotone Hurwitz numbers share a similar structure, but with the inclusion of an additional linear term., Comment: 18 pages

Organ and cancer segmentation in abdomen Computed Tomography (CT) scans is the prerequisite for precise cancer diagnosis and treatment. Most existing benchmarks and algorithms are tailored to specific cancer types, limiting their ability to provide comprehensive cancer analysis. This work presents the first international competition on abdominal organ and pan-cancer segmentation by providing a large-scale and diverse dataset, including 4650 CT scans with various cancer types from over 40 medical centers. The winning team established a new state-of-the-art with a deep learning-based cascaded framework, achieving average Dice Similarity Coefficient scores of 92.3% for organs and 64.9% for lesions on the hidden multi-national testing set. IC 10 X-1 is one of close X-ray binaries containing a Wolf-Rayet donor, which can provide an evolutionary link between high-mass X-ray binaries and gravitational wave sources. It is still unclear about the precise nature of the accreting compact object in IC 10 X-1, although it looks more like a black hole than a neutron star. In this work, we use a binary population synthesis method to simulate the formation of IC 10 X-1 like binaries by assuming different common-envelope ejection efficiencies. This work represents a big step forward over previous studies since we adopt new criteria of mass-transfer stability. These criteria allow the formation of IC 10 X-1 like systems without experiencing common envelope evolution. Accurate prediction of drug molecule solubility is crucial for therapeutic effectiveness and safety. Traditional methods often miss complex molecular structures, leading to inaccuracies. We introduce the YZS-Model, a deep learning framework integrating Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN), Transformer architectures, and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to enhance prediction precision. GCNs excel at capturing intricate molecular topologies by modeling the relationships between atoms and bonds. Transformers, with their self-attention mechanisms, effectively identify long-range dependencies within molecules, capturing global interactions. LSTMs process sequential data, preserving long-term dependencies and integrating temporal information within molecular sequences. This multifaceted approach leverages the strengths of each component, resulting in a model that comprehensively understands and predicts molecular properties. Trained on 9,943 compounds and tested on an anticancer dataset, the YZS-Model achieved an $R^2$ of 0.59 and an RMSE of 0.57, outperforming benchmark models ($R^2$ of 0.52 and RMSE of 0.61). In an independent test, it demonstrated an RMSE of 1.05, improving accuracy by 45.9%. The integration of these deep learning techniques allows the YZS-Model to learn valuable features from complex data without predefined parameters, handle large datasets efficiently, and adapt to various molecular types. This comprehensive capability significantly improves predictive accuracy and model generalizability. Its precision in solubility predictions can expedite drug development by optimizing candidate selection, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency. The nature of dark energy is one of the most outstanding problems in physical science, and various theories have been proposed. It is therefore essential to directly verify or rule out these theories experimentally. However, despite substantial efforts in astrophysical observations and laboratory experiments, previous tests have not yet acquired enough accuracy to provide decisive conclusions as to the validity of these theories. Here, using a diamagnetically levitated force sensor, we carry out a test on one of the most compelling explanations for dark energy to date, namely the Chameleon theory, an ultra-light scalar field with screening mechanisms, which couples to normal-matter fields and leaves a detectable fifth force. Our results extend previous results by nearly two orders of magnitude to the entire physical plausible parameter space of cosmologically viable chameleon models. We find no evidence for such a fifth force. Our results decisively rule out the basic chameleon model as a candidate for dark energy. Our work, thus, demonstrates the robustness of laboratory experiments in unveiling the nature of dark energy in the future. In this paper we develop Maximum likelihood (ML) based algorithms to calibrate the model parameters in credit rating transition models. Since the credit rating transition models are not Gaussian linear models, the celebrated Kalman filter is not suitable to compute the likelihood of observed migrations. Therefore, we develop a Laplace approximation of the likelihood function and as a result the Kalman filter can be used in the end to compute the likelihood function. This approach is applied to so-called high-default portfolios, in which the number of migrations (defaults) is large enough to obtain high accuracy of the Laplace approximation. By contrast, low-default portfolios have a limited number of observed migrations (defaults). Therefore, in order to calibrate low-default portfolios, we develop a ML algorithm using a particle filter (PF) and Gaussian process regression. Experiments show that both algorithms are efficient and produce accurate approximations of the likelihood function and the ML estimates of the model parameters.

Neutron star$-$white dwarf (NSWD) binaries are one of the most abundant sources of gravitational waves (GW) in the Milky Way. These GW sources are the evolutionary products of primordial binaries that experienced many processes of binary interaction. We employ a binary population synthesis method to investigate the properties of Galactic NSWD binaries detectable by the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA). In this paper, only the NSWD systems with a COWD or ONeWD component are included. We consider various models related to mass transfer efficiencies during primordial binary evolution, supernova explosion mechanisms at NS formation, common envelope ejection efficiencies, and critical WD masses that determining the stability of mass transfer between WDs and NSs. Based on our calculations, we estimate that tens to hundreds of LISA NSWD binaries exist in the Milky Way. We find that the detection of LISA NSWD binaries is able to provide profound insights into mass transfer efficiencies during the evolution of primordial binaries and critical WD masses during mass transfer from a WD to an NS., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, 1 table, accepted to MNRAS

Herschend-Liu-Nakaoka introduced the concept of $n$-exangulated categories as higher-dimensional analogues of extriangulated categories defined by Nakaoka-Palu. The class of $n$-exangulated categories contains $n$-exact categories and $(n+2)$-angulated categories as specific examples. In this article, we introduce the notion of hereditary $n$-exangulated categories, which generalize hereditary extriangulated categories. We provide two classes of hereditary $n$-exangulated categories through closed subfunctors. This paper addresses the ``curse of dimensionality'' in the loss valuation of credit risk models. A dimension reduction methodology based on the Bayesian filter and smoother is proposed. This methodology is designed to achieve a fast and accurate loss valuation algorithm in credit risk modelling, but it can also be extended to valuation models of other risk types. The proposed methodology is generic, robust and can easily be implemented. Moreover, the accuracy of the proposed methodology in the estimation of expected loss and value-at-risk is illustrated by numerical experiments. The results suggest that, compared to the currently most used PCA approach, the proposed methodology provides more accurate estimation of expected loss and value-at-risk of a loss distribution., Comment: 43 pages

We investigate the detectability of gravitational waves that have been lensed by a spinless stellar-mass black hole, with respect to the advanced LIGO. By solving the full relativistic linear wave equations in the spacetime of a Schwarzschild black hole, we find that the strong gravity can create unique signals in the lensed waveform, particularly during the merger and ringdown stages. The differences in terms of fitting factor between the lensed waveform and best-fitted unlensed general relativity template with spin-precessing and higher-order multipoles are greater than $5\%$ for the lens black hole mass within $70M_{\odot}

The notion of a pseudo cluster tilting subcategory $\mathcal X$ in an extriangulated category $\mathcal C$ is defined in this article. We prove that the quotient category $\mathcal C/\mathcal X$, obtained by factoring an extriangulated category by a pseudo cluster tilting subcategory, is a semi-abelian category. Furthermore, we also show that the quotient category $\mathcal C/\mathcal X$ is an abelian category if and only if certain self-orthogonal conditions are satisfied. Quantitative organ assessment is an essential step in automated abdominal disease diagnosis and treatment planning. Artificial intelligence (AI) has shown great potential to automatize this process. However, most existing AI algorithms rely on many expert annotations and lack a comprehensive evaluation of accuracy and efficiency in real-world multinational settings. To overcome these limitations, we organized the FLARE 2022 Challenge, the largest abdominal organ analysis challenge to date, to benchmark fast, low-resource, accurate, annotation-efficient, and generalized AI algorithms. We constructed an intercontinental and multinational dataset from more than 50 medical groups, including Computed Tomography (CT) scans with different races, diseases, phases, and manufacturers. We independently validated that a set of AI algorithms achieved a median Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) of 90.0\% by using 50 labeled scans and 2000 unlabeled scans, which can significantly reduce annotation requirements. The best-performing algorithms successfully generalized to holdout external validation sets, achieving a median DSC of 89.5\%, 90.9\%, and 88.3\% on North American, European, and Asian cohorts, respectively. They also enabled automatic extraction of key organ biology features, which was labor-intensive with traditional manual measurements. It is widely accepted that quite a number of double compact objects (DCOs) in the Milky Way can be identified by future space-based gravitational wave (GW) detectors, while systematic investigations on the detection of the GW sources in nearby galaxies are still lacking. In this paper, we present calculations of potential populations of GW sources for all types of DCOs in the Local Group galaxy M31. For M31, we use an age-dependent model for the evolution of the metallicity and the star-formation rate. By varying assumptions of common-envelope ejection efficiencies and supernova-explosion mechanisms during binary evolution, we make predictions on the properties of DCOs that can be detected by the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA). Our calculations indicate that a few (a dozen) DCOs are likely to be observed by LISA during its 4 (10) yr mission. We expect that the sources with black-hole components are more likely to be firstly identified during a 4-yr mission since these binaries have relatively large chirp masses, while the systems with white-dwarf components dominate the overall population of detectable GW sources during a 10-yr mission. The viscous interaction of fluid is understood as the response to deformation, which is proportional to the strain rate. This model has gradually become the standard since Stokes, and has become the basis of the classical flow theory, namely the Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations. However, it has never been accurately verified in the curved laminar flow. Here, a distinctive unambiguous simple experiment is designed to falsify the viscosity model of deformation, and instead a new model is proposed, that is, the viscous friction originates from the slip of fluid layering at molecular scale. Though Newton contributed the initial idea of slip viscosity, the new model cannot be formulated without the help of modern differential geometry. From the new model, the analytical solution of laminar Taylor-Couette (T-C) flow between two concentric cylinders can reproduce the result of the ideal experiment proposed by Newton as the outer cylinder being infinite, which was once considered a mistake of Newton. A significant difference with the solution of the N-S equations when the outer cylinder is relatively large can be used to distinguish the viscosity models, even for the simplest case with both cylinders rotating with the same angular velocity.
