In Part I of this paper, we introduced a class of certain algebras of finite dimension over a field. All these algebras are split, symmetric and local. Here we continue to investigate their Loewy structure. We show that in many cases their Loewy length is equal to an upper bound established in Part I, but we also construct examples where we have a strict inequality., Comment: 40 pages, 3 tables

The aim of this paper is to generalise the notion of p-stability to fusion systems. We study the question how Qd(p) is involved in finite simple groups. We show that with a single exception a simple group involving Qd(p) has a subgroup isomorphic to either Qd(p) or a central extension of it by a cyclic group of order p. We define p-stability for fusion systems, characterise some of its properties and prove a fusion theoretic version of Thomson's maximal subgroup theorem. We introduce the notion of section p-stability both for groups and fusion systems and prove a version of Glauberman's theorem to fusion systems.

We determine the combinatorial and the ordinary depth of the maximal subgroups of the simple Ree groups, $R(q)$.

The Sylow p-subgroups of the symmetric group S_p^n satisfy the appropriate generalization of Maschke's Theorem to the case of a p'-group acting on a (not necessarily abelian) p-group. Moreover, some known results about the Sylow p-subgroups of S_p^n are stated in a form that is true for all primes p.

We determine the combinatorial depth of certain subgroups of simple Suzuki groups Sz(q), among others the depth of their maximal subgroups. We apply these results to determine the ordinary depth of these subgroups., Comment: 15 pages

We consider real versions of Brauer's k(B) conjecture, Olsson's conjecture and Eaton's conjecture. We prove the real version of Eaton's conjecture for 2-blocks of groups with cyclic defect group and for the principal 2-blocks of groups with trivial real core. We also characterize G-classes, real and rational G-classes of the defect group of a block B.

We introduce a strong form of Oliver's p-group conjecture and derive a reformulation in terms of the modular representation theory of a quotient group. The Sylow p-subgroups of the symmetric group S_n and of the general linear group GL_n(F_q) satisfy both the strong conjecture and its reformulation., Comment: 18 pages. Let S be a p-group for an odd prime p. Bob Oliver conjectures that a certain characteristic subgroup X(S) always contains the Thompson subgroup J(S). We obtain a reformulation of the conjecture as a statement about modular representations of p-groups. Using this we verify Oliver's conjecture for groups where S/X(S) has nilpotence class at most two., Comment: 9 pages; terminology altered to conform to current usage
